What are your criteria both physical and emotional? You could expatiate some more! I also think since you are in your early twenties be you male or female you are still kinda too young to be getting married take things slow cos guys would always take advantage if you appear desperate. Naija men are not perfect but we are the closest to it
trust me o, I am not planning on getting married anytime soon. I am not necessarily looking for a mate now. I have just observed that many of the men in my environment are not really marriage materials, so when I am ready, I am basically screwed. The question was actually to see what people thought of going back to Nigeria to find a mate. |
I created this topic because I have been thinking about marriage lately. I am a female and I am only in my very early twenties. I want to marry a Nigerian man, but as i look around my environment, I notice that potential life partners are non-existant in my environment. I can't even picture myself marrying the nigerian males that live around here. The males here are just not marriage materials. The thought of going to Nigeria to find a mate have crossed my mind, but i dread it since I am a very Americanized Nigerian and I don't know if I can deal with FOP(FRESH OFF THE PLANE) nigerians What are your thoughts on the matter? If you are a male or female living in the western world, would you ever think of going back to find a potential life partner ? |
@Obinna, that commercial is hillarious |
mbulela:see, I understand what u r saying. I just don't dwell on racist actions against me because I am too busy to notice. If nobody wanted my apt, I would just move on and wouldn't think twice about it. |
gbagudara:blacks calling each other nigga is not really a good example to use. Nigga is the black American street word for "dude", so I don't think they are trying to be racist when they call each other that word. It's mostly friends that called each other that anyway. Also, how can blacks be racist towards other blacks? It makes no sense. |
SeanT21:I gotta agree with you. The US marines always have nice commercials |
I don't know if I ever experience injustice because I don't pay atten.tion to things like that |
Smartrizz:abeg, RED WINE is not dangerous. it's actually good for you medically. IF YOU ARE GETTING DRUNK OF RED WINE MAYBE YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL |
Anything you do in life have to be done moderately. Too much Alcohol is bad for you. The same way too much food is bad for you because you don't want you arteries clog and die of heart attack. Too much of anything is not good. Alcohol just make you kind of loose and free spirited. It gives you don't give a damn attitude. Thats all. People have different levels of tolerance. Some people only need wine to knock them out while some people hard liquor(such as vodka, rum, etc) to feel anything. Just know your level and act responsible and you will be fine. |
I personally want my bridesmaid to look their best. My train is not going to be looking a mess. |
Some of yall are I.D.I.OT.S. Nollywood is not Hollywood, so get that nollywood mentality out of your head. Hollywoood actors take their craft seriously and they actually have to become the character they are playing. It's not a new thing for actors to dramatically lose weight for a movie. Beyonce lost twenty pounds in two weeks for the movie Dream girls. Tom Hanks had to lose 50 pounds for his movie cast away. Christian Bale lost 63 pounds for his role in the Machinist. Russell Crowe had to gain 50 pounds for his role in the movie Body of lies. Will Smith had to put on 35pounds for his role in Ali. It's part of the business. I f you are not willing to gain or lose weight, there thousand more upcoming actors and actresses that are ready to take ur place. |
bored out of my mind |
some Akara and Ogi or Akamu would be nice |
lol, I don't even know what MUD is. Anyway sha, she can't act in my honest opinion and she's not that cute either, but more power to her. You do what you have to do to make money and if people like her terrible acting and she is making money from it, I applaud her. |
she is alright. I have seen way better looking girls |
All I see is bad weave.but it look like a nice wedding |
untill he claim he doesn't eat the box. |
Since Igbo dominate Nollywood and since Nollywood actors and actresses sucks, I will say there is none I like, except the guy that did Osufia go to London. The rest even yoruba actors can't act to save their life. |
oh please christianity has everything to do with this thread. Weren't you the same person that said this in an earlier post in respond to somebody criticizing you "I only came out here to air my concern and hear people's opinion over same, but not to be abused by anyone. Your god cannot do anything to me, but my God, the I AM that I AM will recompense you abundantly with your fowl mouth. I refuse to get into any argument with you. I have an excellent spirit and do have powers over every principalities and powers, spiritual wickedness in heavenly places, ruler of the darkness of the world, satanic human agent like you, and I also have dominion over your juju powers and that of your god." on your first topic thats in the racism section, you were complaining that yoruba movies belittles christianity. Then you claim the actresses are not real christians since they go to cele, etc. abeg, from everything you have posted, everything points to the fact that christianity is a big part of this. like others have said, Nobody is forcing you to watch. I am pretty sure the marketers of Yoruba movies are not marketing to somebody like you, so why are you complaining. They have a target audience that enjoy what is being shown and buy the movies because if it isn't so, the industry would collapse. so you are just yarning nosense. There are lots of thinsg in life we don't life and wish we could change, if you can't change it, stop screaming on nairaland infront of your computer. |
Also, I have noticed you are a strong christian, Abeg, stick to the christian movies. Isn't it a sin to be watching worldly movies in the first place? My parents are strong christian, but you would never catch them watch any nollywood or yoruba movies except mount zion( I personally hate mount Zion), so they don't complain becaus ethey don't know what is going on. Also, why are you belittling other denominations of christianity such as Cele and the rest. This really irks me. Who told your denomination is the right one? Cele believe in what they believe because they believe it will take them to heaven, just like you believe your denomination is right. A catholic is a catholic because that is what they believe is right, a lutheran is a lutheran who because that is what they believe is right. Anglican and episcopal believe their way is the right way, so step off your high horse because the same way your are looking down at other denomination is the same way the other denomination is perceiving your denomination. How you perceive others is the same way others perceive you. |
Haba, It's just a movie o. Abeg o don't catch heart attack over yoruba movie. It aint that serious. Anyway there are good Yoruba movies, u just been watching the wrong ones. Anyway, I really don't understand where you are coming from considering the fact that the only Nigerian movies I can even bare to tolerate is Yoruba ones. I hate English movies or the typical nollywood movie. They put me to sleep everytime I try to watch. Anyway, I will recommend some movies I liked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4I37JQIRXg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7f3qxDBjtU |
I am not Igbo, but I know Igbo is part of the Niger Congo Civilization that originated in west africa and Underneath that, the Benue Kwa emerge and Igbo came out of that somehow, so did the Yoruba, Asante, Wolof, Mandinka, etc. Igbo is a Bantu language, so is Yoruba, Twi,and most languages spoken in west Africa. Summary, we are all one in a sense. Most people in West Africa came from the same ancestral group and started expanding and claiming different identity |
This is old news. I found out about this a couple of months ago. I still don't understand the purpose of divorce after 30yrs of marriage |
The state of healthcare in Nigeria is terrible. I feel sorry for people that has to live in that country and actually depend on Nigeria hospitals because they have no way out. I have lost two aunts to preventable illness because the healthcare in the country is a joke. If they were living in the US, they would still be alive today. |
broucher:okay dude, chill, I really don't care about this topic that much. I have nothing against rock. I am just giving my own opinion. |
@Amya, just because your friends or those around you like it doesn't mean anything. You are more likely to hang around people that are like you anyway, so your friends or people you hang around are not representative of the population. It's psychology 101, you are more likely to be friends with people that reason like you, look like you, or have the same taste as you, but don't infer anything from your circle of friend into the population. I am not saying there are not rock fans in Nigeria, all I am saying is I doubt rock can become big in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. The fan base is not big enough |
I like any good song whether it's rap, rock, country, pop, etc. A question is what is distinctly rock. Nowadays, most songs are a mixture of genres. Even some R & b songs sound pop to me while some rock songs may sound pop Anyway, are most of the people saying rock is their religion in Nigeria or the western world? I doubt rock can be big in African countries. Just cuz many people in nairaland say so doesn't mean anything. Half of you guys are probably living in London or the US anyway |
