RomanceRe: Am I Over Reacting? by Oba234: 7:00am On Mar 11, 2010
You did so much and it seems it's not working, well what can you do? It's pretty obvious. End the relationship. It's a sad truth to swallow and it is not going to be easy, but I don't see her coming around. How long r u just going to sit and let her walk all over you? Sit her down and ask her this simple question, do you want us to go our separate way? This is a yes or no question. There is no in betweeen answer. If she said yes, well, it's over. If she said no, then give her the conditions under which the relationship will be able to continue. If she is hesitatant about her answer, take it as a yes and end the relationship. Ending the relationship doesn't mean you world is over. Trust me, you will find another. There are many fiishes in the sea.

I am not really familiar with the guy because I know very little about Nigerian politics. One thing I have realized is that Nairaland reality is different from the real reality.. He would probaby become president,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if he was running on Nairaland, but we are talking about the federal republic of Nigeria here. Anyway, I don't want to put a dampen in yall mood. I believe in Miracle sha.

FamilyRe: Yorubas And The 'Left-Hand' Issue by Oba234: 10:01pm On Mar 02, 2010
a lot of Yoruba parents do that. My mother did not allow my cousin who grew up with us to use a left hand. She considered it a bad habit. It's not their fault. They are just passing down whatever was pass to them for their parents. Every culture has what it's good or bad and many of it is pointless, but what can you do? Whether we like it or not, our society, culture play a huge role in life. Every society has it's own good and wong, and if you want to defile it, then you will be the outcast. Now we live in the 21st century, it's easy for us to question this, but if you grew up in the 50s, then you wouldn't question.

PoliticsRe: Where Is Obasanjo In All These? by Oba234: 11:14pm On Feb 26, 2010
otawa:
wrong.

Nigerians are in this mess because they FAILED to stand-up against the people that oppress them.

Nigerians themselves provided 1001 reasons why Yaradua was the best in 2007.

But we know better that the real problem started when Nigerians failed to speak up in 1999 when Mr Obasanjo was being prepared.

Abacha was indeed a saint. He saw through Mr Obasanjo, thats why he sent him to Prison then. Just a pity he did not poison Mr Obasanjo on time.
wow, U r no better than OBJ for that statement

TravelRe: Your First Day On A Plane by Oba234: 8:50am On Feb 23, 2010
My first day on a plane was when I was 10 yrs old leaving from murtala airport to the US via amsterdam. I was expecting an entrance on the ground where I climb on the steps like in the movies, so I was shocked when I was led into a corner that lead me inside a plane. At first, I didn't even know I was on a plane untill take off. I remembered my aunt had made puff puff and she put it in a cooler for us to eat on the plane. Till today, I still don't know what happen to that puff puff.  That day was the last time I was in Nigeria and I haven't been back since. I thought airline food was disgusting and I refused to eat anything except tootsie roll candy.  There was a white lady that ate everything on her plate spot clean and I kept looking at her like is the food really that good? She was looking at me crazy because everytime they gave me a plate of food, I wouldn't touch it the flight attendant will come back and pick the plate just as it was when the food was given. I was an unaccompany minor with my 2 siblings, so we were on our own and I was the oldest at 10yrs old. I get motion sickness, so by the end of my plane ride, I had thrown up on myself. I remembered they took me in another room to wipe me down. When I got to amsterdam, I didn't understand their english. It was too fast for me. They ask whether I had any weapons in my luggage and since I didn't understand what she was asking I nod my head and said yes. The woman had a concern look on her face untill one nice yoruba man explained what she was saying to me in Yoruba and then I change my answer.  They took us to some place where we stay for some hours untill our plane arrived.  whew, That was the longest plane ride of my life. I wasn't scared or afraid. I just felt nauseous through out the plane ride especially from amsterdam to the US.
TV/MoviesRe: Are These Yoruba Movies Produced For Illiterates? by Oba234: 5:46am On Feb 18, 2010
Ellyptical:
Nollywood is actually picking up. Its Yorubawood that has refused to pick up. They refuse to act in English language that will enable them sell to a broader market and generate more funds.

The mainstream Nollywood has moved ahead and left the outdated Yorubawood behind

I doubt it. Most of the people here are Igbos and Yoruba, but you can visit the religion section and then click on the Islam board and ask the question. You might be able to get more responses. 99% of Fulani are muslims.

PoliticsRe: Fashola & Mega Corruption The True Face Of Lagos (part 1) by Oba234: 8:53am On Feb 01, 2010
adedayoone:
An there we go again , complain complain complain . Thats about all we know how to do . Other states dont have nothing to show , lagos state is proud of fashola and now all of a sudden some faceless bastards have started this stupidness . Where were they all the while, all of a sudden fashola refuses to renew the Alpha beta deal and now they start yapping(PS: Alpha beta is a consulting firm in charge of lagos state tax being paid N4 billion/ month ) .

I want to digress a little bit , me and my friends as we always do when we meet were discussing about Nigeria and its problems , one of us claimed to be ashamed of shell for ripping people off in the niger delta and irritated that the government was not doing anything about it and i said " the only reason why shell could do that is because some ignorant bastards have met with them and advised them to cut costs by bribing a certain few at the expense of the populace" . Its not a new thing been like that since the time they offered our fore fathers mirrors and gin in exchange for people .

I am not even going to bother myself to read all d allegations , could they be true ? I dont know and i dont care , what i know is since fashola became lagos state governor , lagos state has witnessed significant change . I mean all calibres of people in lagos state have come out to say this , even other states are asking to borrow fashola as governor for just 2 weeks .

It would be a shame if lagosians buy this , would be a bigger shame if nigerian youths buy this, how many times have we read different things in the news , can we verify them ? NO , do we know if they are malicious/ for personal interests of the poster ? No

What we know for sure is what we can see with our eyes in Lagos state . Bottom line : Fashola has brought significant change to lagos within a short period of time , support him or go to aso rock and try to remove yaradua . Otherwise just shut up and look ( That seems to be our strongest point in nigeria. )Siddon look.

your post makes the mosy sense. How credible is this? How do we even know this is the truth. Lagosians can see the difference and thats all the matter.

people can see for themselves what Fashola has done. I have friends and relatives that visit Nigeria and they are completely Amazed. What did Tinubu do when he was a govenor? He is highly upset because Fashola isn't a puppet. If Fashola is removed then Wahala dey.

How true is this? are this people angry because fashola has done more for Lagos in the past two years than anyother previous Govenor? Tinubu needs to do all of us a favor. He needs to go play in traffic.

lol, I understand what you mean. I was looking at port au prince and I was thinking to myself how this was conisdered a poor nation. There streets are better than most African countries street. Imagine of that earthquake happened in Nigeria, I don' think the streets would be that neat.

Please o leave my people alone. Igbo people and the wahala. chai, if you don't like what he said, okay, move on and do the opposite. Create a Biafra if you like. Blaming Pastors is not going to get you your dream of a seperate state. You might want to direct your anger at politicians that would be your biggest detterance not Pastors.

Christianity EtcRe: Haiti's Earth Quake Occured Because Haiti Signed A Pack With The Devil by Oba234: 2:58pm On Jan 15, 2010
The Ironic thing about this is that the earthquake took place in Port Au Prince, which is the modern city. The Vodoo or traditional African belief take place in the rural areas. The rural areas were not affected by the earthquake. It was the poor christians in the Capital that died. The archbishop of Haiti is also dead.

This guy is A SlowPoke. This is the same guy that blame 9/11 on gays, lebians and feminist.
PoliticsRe: While The World Helps Haiti, Not One Black African Nation Has Helped by Oba234: 6:28am On Jan 15, 2010
well I think this quote summarize what China is "China's not a normal country - it's a huge empire, it's like the first world, the second world and the third world co-exist together"

China is working hard to become a power house and one of the first requirement of being a power house is for you presence to be felt on the international age and they are doing a pretty good job. Whethey they receive aid or not is not an issue, They are a force to reckon with on the international stage. I dont know any third world or second world on their level?
