AutosRe: Innoson Vehicles Produce Their First Electric Car. by obailala(m): 3:43pm On Sep 11, 2024
sulaak:
Rubbish,

Car manufacturers started as manufacturers and moved into car assemblers in the 197s following the introduction of the Japanese model of manufacturing called Just-In-Time, where a company focuses on its core values and horizontally integrates its suppliers to increase efficiency and production.

The auto industry is based on either vertical integration or horizontal integration.

Vertical integration is where all suppliers are in-housed, like Telsa gigafactory

Horizontal integration involves the manufacturer working with multiple suppliers, and the final manufacturing stage involves assembling all the parts.

Manufacturers, such as Jaguar Land Rover, will design the core of the vehicle, such as the car, build the frame in-house, such as the powertrain and frame, and buy all parts from their suppliers based on a robust infrastructure, such as an off-site warehouse, supply chain system, material flow system, and warehouse management suites.
I'd repeat my point cos it still remains a valid truth.... Literally all cars manufacturers started as car assemblers. And to date, even the most advanced car manufacturers do not produce all parts and components themselves. Just like you rightly said, they outsource the production of several key components to date...

There's no wisdom in us continually rubbishing ourselves as Africans while we praise others. Take a look at China... a few decades ago, they were literally on the same level with 3rd world Africa. Not too long ago they started producing cars by buying parts and components, assembling and cannibalising car brands; the Chinese auto industry literally started by mimicking renown global models - I remember when we all laughed over the Chinese version of the Range Rover.... Today the joke is on the rest of the world; those guys now produce some of the most advanced vehicles in the world.

TravelRe: My Experience Helping An Accident Victim by obailala(m): 9:48pm On Sep 10, 2024
chatinent:
I read this post by Ishilove: https://www.nairaland.com/8209708/how-man-helped-accident-victim and wanted to comment this: avoid being a victim of your kindness but it may be stomached with a wrong conception.

Here is my story:

The help I did in 2017 to FMC that cost my three days? I rushed the woman who's just been hit by a kinda hit and run..and the issue of police report started. Good Samaritan me drove with my Bolt vehicle to the station and after narrating, what came out from the Police Constable was "Guilty Conscience. God works in mysterious ways."

The rhetoric hit me like a letter bomb. I stuttered to explain myself better, and was finger-signalled to meet was caricatured by another officer who asked me what happened again, in an attempt to add his own mockery as an end-remark....which he did: "Una no dey ever change this story? Pray she lives or you are in for a long ride."

I wan die that day. I explained that I was with the military (if it would make a difference) and I knew the law and all that. And why would I hit her, come to the station and deny it? Glaring to me, the first Constable who was a woman responded to my rhetorical question with a scorn again: "guiltttttttty conscienccccce ooooooo."

I gazed at her, consumed by a sense of hollowness. And then, from behind, a voice echoed: "'I was in the force, I was in the force's, so what? Make we run? So you want to threaten us or what after nearly killing someone?"

The female constable responded again: "no, he wants to beat me. Na so dem dey"

I was told to write a statement of what happened but this officer won't let me write my own narration. He'd be telling me how to write it if I wanted to be out of there quickly, what what he was dictating was implicating which I refused...and he resolved to teach me a lesson "so far na en station where I dey."

"Oga, I am the one who is trying to save a life, why do you want to implicate me? Would it have been better I left her to bleed to death? Where did I go wrong?"

I demanded to speak to my lawyer or the DPO and they laughed, mimicked scornfully and laughed harder.

Ok, both of my phone's was siezed...and my smartphone was where I had some contacts who could use their position to help me out of this...plus my CO then who was serving in that state. But this people gave me my Itel button phone. I politely requested for the smart one and they bluntly refused giving clumsy excuses.

I sat behind the counter until my black trouser wore out. And it was a Friday. One officer who's been observing for a while came to me and asked what my case was. I explained to him. I couldn't adequately express myself as tears threatened to accompany my words...but I did. After he calmed me, he asked who could corroborate my story and I told him. He told me that the officers wanted the DPO to leave so I could be in cell until Monday when they'd revisit my case. My heart was just shattering anyhow. I told him I needed to speak to the DPO, then my smartphone to call my people, plus the hospital.

They (without this new good officer) took me to the DPO and the black devil trying to implicate me before started speaking for me, rephrasing my speech but instead of adding sugar, they added salt to the injury making it look like I wanted to outsmart them. I requested to speak for myself and the officer who brought me in told me to shut up.

If I hadn't given the Nurse in charge of the accident victim my number, e for don bi for me o.

The DPO told the officer to let me talk. I narrated everything again, and didn't leave any stone unturned, even the few pebbles about trying to implicate me. She asked for the hospital to be called. And I gave the number.

At that moment, they couldn't reach the doctor. But the accident victim's family were present in the hospital. The DPO told them to take me to the hospital. When we were out of her office, this officer insisted he'd cuff me before I am allowed to enter their vehicle...of course which I refused. I SERVED NIGERIA TOO AND WONT BE TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL! And that by law, it was false imprisonment, and against my human rights. At this moment, swears, I was ready for resistance. I spoke loudly that I am not a criminal and won't be subjected lesser as a toutish one. I also told him to his face that after I am exonerated, I will make sure he pays for all these (and he thought I was joking).

Amidst all the back-and-forth, the hospital reached out to the DPO and she promptly called us back to her office. The woman victim was conscious and verified that I did not harm her. She mentioned that everyone else abandoned her while she was bleeding, and I was the only one who came to her aid. It was being broadcasted for everyone to hear. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the way I was treated and questioned the reason behind my arrest.

The DPO, in my presence, ordered I should be released unconditionally and apologized.

But can an apology heal the trauma?

Could you believe after the DPO left, this godforsaken demon asked me to pay bail or he'd keep me in cell till tomorrow. Omo, I screamed "over my dead body" subconsciously and audibly. And he was like "hand go touch you soon no worry."

Anyways I left after deliberate delay tactics of about two hours. I could not go back to the hospital because the whole event made me fall very sick. But the accident victim lady visited after recovery. She's visited a sick me because my mental health was affected. I couldn't even meet my weekly sums from the Bolt. Two days after the whole event, I tried to drive and my eyes was still seeing rotating images so I had to hug pillows again until I felt much better.

About that officer, story for another day.

But you see me now?

I refuse to be from Samaria anymore. It nearly cost my life.
This story actually gives me the chills! Nigeria is just a hell hole, else how can officers be able to do this with no repercussions? 🤦🏽

This is why so many accident and robbery victims perish needlessly cos everyone is afraid of the imbeciles in the police force.
PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri's Post About His Current Wife That Made His Ex-wife To React by obailala(m): 11:18am On Sep 09, 2024
Even though Reno is a renowned rascal, I can't judge him on this based on the sketchy info put out in the public space. From the text put out by the ex-wife, one can read between the lines and discern why bros ran for his life and into the arms of the other woman.

People desire all manner of things in a partner, but experience has taught many that the most important quality a man needs is a respectful wife that gives him peace of mind. Two captains can't be in a single ship, it never works.

So we still have people regurgitating this pointless argument?

Someone renovated and revamped existing schools so much that basic education in the state became undisputably No. 1 in the country. But some compatriots in their wisdom think this isnt an achievement cos new schools weren't erected? In places where old schools were abandoned and new schools erected, what impact did that make in their UBE rankings compared to Anambra?

This mentality speaks volumes on the IQ of Africans; reason why politicians come every 4 years and successfully use the most stupid promises to deceive voters, turning Nigeria to the abandoned project capital of the world.

Interesting!... I never knew the cabals were the ones squandering N250 billion to acquire new luxury jets and relaxation yachts for the president's pleasure, right in the faces of Nigerians dying in hunger. I'm sure the cabals are also the ones junketing about the world with entourages of over a thousand people while at the same time, they ask Nigerians to tighten their belts.

If a person like OBI was president, do you honestly think the so called cabals would have been able to "twist his hands" (as you claim) into those foolish extravagant expenses?

Tinubu was asked this same question on how he'd solve the problem of insecurity. His response was that he would recruit 50 million youths into the army. When asked how he would support that, he claimed he would feed them with cassava, yam and agbado.

Some Nigerians overlooked that and voted him. We're all suffering the result today.

These are the kind of useless policies you get when you have clueless dinosaurs in positions of authority, courtesy of corruption, nepotism and kakistocracy.

With this new policy, if I'm to predict the potential trajectory of the majority of students, an otherwise brilliant pupil gets to SS3 at 16, and then graduates to Yahoo-Yahoo academy. Other engaging factors would be drugs, gangs, prostitution etc. By the time they clock 18, the child's brain would be frozen from inactivity. They then sit for waec and jamb and fail repeatedly until they eventually either give up as dropouts.

By the end we would have substituted a generation of brilliant minds for yahoo yahoo dropouts.
PoliticsRe: So What Wrong Did Oando Commit By Acquiring AGIP ? by obailala(m): 12:34am On Aug 24, 2024
ShinnBet:
Oando, being a major player in both the upstream and downstream oil sector decides to acquire AGIP, a partly foriegn state owned oil company.

Is AGIP now NNPC ?

And fyi, IOCs are pulling out of Nigeria owing to series of challenges. Here are just a few :

1. Western countries are heavily demonising hydrocarbon exploitation and use. AGIP gets taxed heavily in their native country of Italy.

2. Climate change policies has seen to a drastic cut in institutional investors and banks investing in hydrocarbon extraction .

3. Insurance cover for these IOCs has astronomically risen owing to oil theft, vandalism and other security challenges in the Niger Delta.

4. AGIP like every other IOC have been given tax breaks and govt subsidies to invest in so-called renewable energy.

With the above, all IOCs in Nigeria are scaling back or existing Nigeria all together.

I don't even know why a local player taking over assets of an IOC is a problem. For one, the capital flight by IOCs will be over just as most of you see Dangote refinery as a relief from importing refined crude products from Europe.

Another thing to ponder on is that the acquisition by Oando of AGIP was not done in secrecy. Before such a deal will go through, both the regulatory bodies and shareholders in both companies must agree to such a deal. Once that is done, it is required by law to deposit the details of such acquisition/merger in a Federal High Court and a pre announcement given of the deal. This is to ensure that anybody not in support of the deal can approach the courts to halt the acquisition. Same similar scenario is playing out in First Bank over the governing board decided to issue additional shares. Some shareholders have taken the management and shareholder board to court to stop the issuance of additional shares on the Nigeria stock market.

Now with all this in play , can you tell me what wrong Oando committed ?

Can Oando a private company be barred from acquiring another private venture?

If you want to complain, then let's look at how Obi used state funds to invest in his own company. Now that there is the real corruption.

Obi did not even innugurate a State Investment Board. Rather only him oversaw the collective wealth of Anambra state directly into businesses he held substantial shares in.
I was reading this and it seemed to be making sense until OBI's name strangely entered the analysis.

Abeg wetin concern OBI and AGIP and OANDO? shocked

Is there anything that happens in Nigeria today without OBI's name being mentioned?

The $100million (N150billion) price tag dubiously bandied about by the presidential spokesperson is just the face value. After acquiring such luxurious jets, it's standard practice to reconfigure it to desired style and taste.

I can bet my last dime an additional $20-50 million dollars was spent in reconfiguring that aircraft before delivering it to Nigeria. Actual cost of that jet should be in the range of N200-250billion.

Nigeria has some of the most insensitive leaders in the world, and of course some of the most foolish followers. A look around this thread and you'd see some foolish followers who cant afford danfo fare defending such wasteful expense.
