2 Chr 20:21 Glory be to God in the highest Amen For his mercies endureth forever Amen My favorite verse when going out to contests, exams, interviews, battle, gbege etc. |
mykl01:Somewhere in ideato n. Oh yes most of projects may be concentrated in owerri, but if you are from imo, you will agree with me that despite his focus on owerri, he has still done far more projects in communities outside owerri than his 2 recent predecessors. |
Amah70:I dont know about all these, people always will have complaints. I'm not trying to defend the man as a saint, I'm particularly disappointed in the quality of his projects. However, what I can say with a high degree of confidence is that he isnt half as bad as the 'angry mob' has been painting him; the campaigns of calumny against him are purely political (specifically because he joined APC). At least you agree he started numerous road projects in almost all communities across the state. If not for anything, since the beginning of time, he was the first to bring any kind of govt presence to my interior community. I can now drive on tarred roads till I get to my family compound, something I never dreamt of before 2011. Of course I agree there are still lots of uncompleted branches of these interior roads even in my own village, but I cant help but simply acknowledge the one he did. |
Cuche:You want Imo citizens to speak right?... I'm sure you suppose I'm from Zamfara right?... Even with all the horrible media coverage, the political motivated negative propaganda against me man (courtesy of the contempt people have for him cos he joined APC), Imo citizens as you rightly pointed out still re-elected him in 2015. That was pure evidence that the people on ground know better than the pointless loud pointless campaigns of calumny against him coming primarily from people who arent even from the state. I dont know about the loans he collected compared with other states, but what I know is that there are projects everywhere, much more than Imolites experienced in the combined 12 years of ohakim and udenwa. |
seguno2:You can kindly open the floor by giving us those statistics for other states. I was referring to projects being executed, things people see and not some paper statistics. |
seguno2:I mean in the present times, not the Mbakwes time. Oh yes I am saying Rochas has matched and even surpassed those anambra guys you yalk abouy in terms of projects. I cant vouch for project quality though, but what i am sure of is the fact that he has outdone several other governors, in Imo state alone, he's done more projects than the 12 years of udenwa and ohakim combined. He's only just hated rabidly and facts keep being distorted ridiculously against him purely because of his affiliation with apc. |
Only crime of Rochas is the China quality of his roads/projects. That aside, no other governor in the SE has done as much as he has. But of course, he still gets the highest amount of insults because of his fellowship with APC (the biggest Igbo nightmare). |
Afam4eva:Kanu doesnt need to withdraw the statement. The fact is that people will still come out and vote their preferred candidate irrespective. Once the story filters into the airwaves that APC (the Igbo nightmare ) is going to win, dem no dey tell blind man say war don start. ![]() |
SaulRazor:Saying that it is worse is actually debatable... Their nefarious activities only now gets the much needed publicity and reportage unlike before; and this is because with a fulani man being president, it has become a fashionable political jingle to sing that herdsmen (a.k.a brothers of the president) are marauding BECAUSE their brother is president. With this political endorsement, every single herdsmen attack post-2015 election gets full publicity, even attacks that may not be herdmen are now conveniently tagged herdsmen attack. If I have a problem with my brother, all I need do is go attack him in his farm and the story instantly hits frontpages as herdmen attack. Last month, 2 warring tribes in Benue clashed, one group invaded the other community slaughtering people all over the place; of course, it was reported as herdmen attack. Of course the herdsmen attack is real, but it must be acknowledged that it certainly did not start today as our political theorists now choose to paint it. If you doubt, ask any friend of yours who's from Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa etc to tell you what they've endured through the years. And of course, when there is a cancer and it is not treated, it festers (a.k.a gets worse). |
inkon:Nigeria and Biafra will make good neighbours only if the separation is achieved in a cordial manner. But even at that, I don't trust the north being accommodating to an Igbo man should there be a secrssion. By default, majority of Hausas up north hate Igbos and ironically, the same Hausas are the biggest opponents to Igbo secession. Let's be honest with ourselves, do you honestly think the Hausa man on the streets of Kano for instance will be more courteous to an Igbo living in Kano if the SE should secede? |
SaulRazor:If you think the marauding herdsmen started their robbery or attacks of farmers or farming communities in 2015, then you are just uninformed. The herdsmen have been marauding and causing pains for farmers especially in the middle belt for ages without it getting any single publicity or reportage. It started receiving publicity only post-2015 because at the time, it seemed like a very suitable political argument since a fulani man became president. Enough of the pointless politicising of the age long problem. If it still pains you so much that your preferred candidate lost the 2015 elections, try and prepare better campaign strategies for 2019 and quit these watery theories. |
A clear case of armed robbery; of course the narrator of the story had to add the all too common twist that the herdsmen robbers separated the Igbos ftom the rest and shot them. If that twist isnt added in the story in this season, how can the story be sensational? For ages, armed herdsmen living in forest settlements do come out to highways to rob and then they fall back into the forest. In 2009, I was almost robbed by these same herdsmen when they dashed out of the bush in the Benin bypass. My dad has also been robbed by same herdsmen along the Oleh-Ogwashiukwu highway somewhere close to Kwale. For whatever reason, security operatives have never been able to checkmate their activities. But thank God for 2015 election results, their activities now finally get the much deserved publicity.... |
pauljumbo:The reason behind the agitation isnt the point, the message I tried to pass isnt also about how Nigeria would be better off or not, that is absolutely not what I'm talking about or even want to talk about. My point was simple, if there was to be a separation, with the vast amount of investments and interests Igbos have all over Nigeria, it is definitely a silly thing to engage in any acts which can make the separation incordial because such acts will put the investments of Igbos all over Nigeria at risk. Unfortunately, this is where ipob organisation has completely rubbished everything; the foundation of the ipob approach was to preach hate, spew unprintable insults at everybody and even leave threats on a daily basis. Such an approach has not only ridiculed sensible Igbos all over Nigeria, it has also put the security of lives and investments of Igbos all over Nigeria at risk. If anyone cannot see that, then it's a pity. pauljumbo:Nowhere did I insinuate that it is good to seize anyone's property. I only called for common sense to be applied to the issue; as a smart adult, if I have a valuable property planted within my neighbours compound, I would have to apply some wisdom when thrashing out issues with him. I will do all I can to ensure I dont infuriate him, and this will remain the wise thing to keep doing until I successfully retrieve all my valuable belongings from his compound. This is common sense I would suppose. But obviously, ipob organisation didnt think this wisdom was necessary; it probably doesnt even care about the vast number of Igbos who have mega investments outside Igboland, after all, "Why didnt they bring their investments home even when we warned them to do so?" Applying common sense to the matter, I wonder why you should be surprised that following the threats of destroying the zoo, there are now counter threats of property seizures. What exactly were you expecting to be the natural reaction of the insulted people of the zoo? |
pauljumbo:How could you be confusing the mere social banters between Nigeria vs Ghana/Kenya with the rabid hate filled inter-ethnic/tribal abuses prevalent in Nigeria lately?.. Are you for real? |
I don tire for this politically motivated mumuness that is pervading Nigeria. |
pauljumbo:Nigerians own properties around the world and reserve the rights and freedom to enjoy ownership of the properties they own in those foreign countries. However, what you and many others fail to take note of is that Nigerians do not go about online and on TV, throwing 10,000 insults and abuses and destruction threats to the citizens of those countries day and night, Nigerians do not go about calling those countries zoos and neither do we call the inhabitants (from fathers to mothers to kids) animals. If that were the case, I doubt we would be able to peacefully own properties in those countries. I think this is quite commonsensical, hence why smart people think ipob organisation and its cult followers are doing more harm than good to Igbos (especially those living outside Igboland). However, the ipob guys dont really care cos most of them are domiciled in the south east and care less about the welfare or investments of Igbos like the Op who invested their entire lives outside Igboland. |
I suppose these reps didnt see all these things during the previous budget debates?... They only seem to have seen it now they've been accused of inserting boreholes and grinders in Works budget. |
Hahahaha... Politicians! When you are out of power (a.k.a free fow of GMG bags), they call for restructuring as the only way out of the nation's economic and social crisis. The moment they leave power, they instantly remember that the country isn't ripe for restructuring. |
SnowJay92:So what exactly is your suggestion as I can see this religion of others makes you very uncomfortable?... Should we fight to remove it from the constitution or should we fight to also include sone Christian things in the document for equality? |
SnowJay92: AntiMahdi:I agree with you both, we should truly spend our time worrying about what religious words like 'Sharia' and 'Islam' are doing in the constitution of a country which should be secular. I think we should press on it until every such word and law is removed from the constitution. |
CROWNWEALTH019:I would never cross paths with someone who I know represents 'irrelevance' in my affairs. Last time I checked, it was some jobless folk bearing your name that jumped into my mention uninvited, posting the pic of a man who probably looks like his father. |
Hallelluia!... Finally Nigeria gets to export something, finally I can walk into the grocery stores in London and buy yams with the label 'imported from Nigeria' ![]() |
CROWNWEALTH019:...and what could he be calling the MODs for?... In an unsolicited move, you just randomly posted the picture of a man. If he isn't yourself, or your father or your brother, I wonder what sane person would just randomly send the picture of a man to someone else. Or do you need some psychological evaluation? |
CROWNWEALTH019:That must be that face of your father right? |
AntiMahdi:While I dont support the idea of any religious thing being included in the constitution of a multi-religious country, I still dont see the essence of this thread. You basically seem to be complaining that the word Islam and Sharia are mentioned in the Nigerian constitution, but that Christianity or the word 'church' isnt in the constitution. My question is, must everything be seen as competition?... How does it make it better if the word 'Church' or 'Christian' is included in the constitution? |
Constitution talks about Sharia law in the north, hence it is understood why Islamic words would be in the constitution. But I don't think there is anything like Christian court, so I wonder why the absence of the word 'Church' or 'Christian' should be an issue to give any normal person sleepless nights. Maybe we should push a bill to have Episcopal or Ecclesiastical Courts since everything is now competition in Nigeria post 2015 elections. |
Edu3Again:Of course, Chief Andrew Uchendu is now a Fulani man in the eyes of deluded PDP losers. #Iberiberism |
paBuhari:...and you are a secession beggar?... Let's see how you will achieve that and ruin the lives of millions of people simply because you cant match up to your mates. |
Agumbaa:A call for restructuring is the only reasonable thing that should be done. FOr a tribe which has the widest economic and commercial spread with trillions in investments spread around the country, calling for outright secession is very thoughtless, or of course you will agree with me that the call is mainly championed by those who literally have absolutely nothing to lose. |
Billyonaire:First of all, I am bamboozled by your insinuations; can you please point out where I just insulted anyone on this thread?.... Could you be confusing my comments with someone else?... I simply stated a FACT that 98% of the agitators are unemployed and not-doing-fine people who are tiredness of the hopelessness in the system, hence they are clinging on to whatever it is they perceive as a glimmer of hope. It's unfortunate if you interpret that as an insult. My own position on the matter is that the people are chasing shadows because the people they have been brainwashed to see as enemies are not the enemy, but rather fellow compatriots suffering exactly the same fate. The problem has always been the heartless elite ruling class and these real enemies cut across all regions of the country (they don't exist only in certain selected regions of the country). Until this anger is directed at the right enemies, the whole agitations for secession will remain a deluded journey. If the elite ruling class even in Igboland are not held to ransom and forced to be accountable, the big problem will still persist and I do not see how secession will perform any magic on this (except NK just wishes to be another African hard-line dictator who would kill off all the elite when secession is achieved). If only half of the energy poured into calling for secession were to be directed at calling for restructuring (as a first step in pulling us out of a major political/economic quagmire), then at least, the agitation would not only have received massive support from intellectuals, it would also have received full support and endorsements from neighbouring zones (SS, SW and middle-belt). I just can't even rationalise how in 2017, of all the tribes in Nigeria, it then becomes the tribe has the widest national spread in terms of investments and commerce that would be calling for outright secession. What other evidence do you need to know that the agitation is devoid of intellectual inputs? |
Emusan:The enemy isn't that common Hausa or Yoruba man on the street who is equally hustling and also suffering the exact same problems as that same Igbo man on the streets. The problem has always being the useless elite leaders, and these elite leaders I talk about aren't restricted to any particular ethnic/regional/religious groups; they actually cut across all areas of Nigeria. I really don't see how breaking away from other ethnic nationalities or changing country name would solve this particular problem. Me thinks the core problem of demanding accountability from immediate leaders is of utmost importance; that is where these agitations should be channelled to. |
Billyonaire:Like I said earlier, the hopelessness and despair in the air is real, and that is exactly what drives these agitations. The rich and comfortable (even if they aren't happy with things) wouldn't necessarily want to risk their comfort, but the people at the bottom who have nothing to lose would give it their all cos it's a do-or-die affair; and they cling on to anything which remotely sounds/looks like 'hope'. Even in the north, a lot of misguided youths based on weird religious messages embraced bokoharam in the same belief that it would liberate them, they believed western education and existence of Christians is the reason behind their squalor. Now down south, we now have the people calling for secession believing another weird message that their co-existence with neighbours of a different tribe is responsible for their squalor. And the agitations continue, but are they really facing the real enemies? |
