zendy: Who cares about your business? Who cares about a few comfortable Igbos? I'm a relatively comfortable Igbo man who will also be affected by the emergence of Biafra but I still want Biafra because the political and economic emancipation of my people is far greater than any selfish desires I may or may not have. This is about the future not the past and I believe in the ingenuity of my people. I believe that Biafra will be greater than Nigeria ever was. Well, if you dont care, I care about my business and the businesses of my people. There are advantages of remaining in a united Nigeria and there are also lots of dissadvantages. However, I believe all the dissadvantages would be eliminated if we return to true federalism and resource control even whilst we would still maintain the advantages of being in a single entity. In summary, true federalism is the more practical and most convenient option for now not secession and to achieve that, the entire southern Nigeria must unite to make it happen. |

zendy: I want to remind people about something that will be very important in the event of the creation of Biafra. Embossed in front of every Nigerian passport (and any west-African passport) is the acronym "ECOWAS". What this is trying to tell anyone with this on their passport is that they are are entitled to travel, live and settle anywhere in the West-African sub-region without need for any sort of visa. This same sort of system applies in Europe under the "EU" and all member nation can travel at will to each other's countries with no travel restrictions. It is most likely that the Biafra,a west African nation, will become a member of "ECOWAS" and any Igbo man will be able to travel and live to anywhere in Nigeria without any visa. Are you aware that both Ghana and Nigeria were members of ecowas when Nigeria evicted Ghanaians in the infamous 'Ghana-must-go' saga? With that in mind, radio biafra proponents think the best way to break away is through the very tasteless hate campaigns they are waging by insulting and inciting hate against every other Nigerian tribe.... and lets just imagine that Biafra finally succeeds through this hate campaigns, for some people to actually still think there would be a rosy diplomatic relationship with Nigeria is absurd. |

surefact: I see fear in you....what do you want the igbos to stay in Nigeria? Are they no longer evil? You lots disgust me....if I am you, I will rejoice and be in the forefront for biafra actualization so that nigeria can be free of evil....diabolical cowards Sorry what I feel is not fear but rather, rage and embarrassment at the shallowness of my people. You will do yourself a lot of good if you can quit your simple-mindedness; not everyone who opposes biafran secession is a yoruba person as most of your little brains keep assuming. Just like I pointed out earlier in my comment, 'comfortable' Igbos are not crazy about the secession moves and will not be supporting it especially due to the senseless way it's presently being promoted on the silly radio station. I am proudly in this category; I support true federalism and resource control, not the balkanization of Nigeria which will greatly affect my businesses. I can smell from miles away that you must fall into one of the 2 categories of people I mentioned, i.e. the never-do-wells or the dependant students, else you would have been able to see the big picture instead of allowing yourself to be brainwashed by dubious characters. |

ibrahimdoc: If the igbos happen to get their Biafra, how is it going to affect the economy of lagos? being the highest importer in the country and are paying the highest tax in custom duty, how will this affect the lagos Economy? Some yorubas say they won't feel it, while the igbos say that lagos will be like a grave yard..For me, I think Lagos will feel it in no small measure...The reason multi national companies troop into lagos is because of the population and when lagos is suddenly cut into almost half, what do you think that will happen? Your unbiased contribution will be appreciated.. Do not be misled by what you see and read online, no comfortable Igbo man is willing to risk his massive investments scattered all over Nigeria for a secession today. The present agitators for Biafra today are mainly the Igbos from the lowest cadre of society, i.e. the never-do-wells and students who are still spoon-fed by their parents. Even with what's happening in Borno today, we still have thousands of Igbos who reside there. No matter what happens in Nigeria today, the Igbos are not leaving Lagos for anywhere. |

chucky234: ■ Lebanese security forces stand guard outside the Bilal bin Rabah mosque in Sidon following deadly clashes between the Lebanese army and supporters of radical Sunni cleric Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir, on June 28, 2013 (AFP Photo/Mahmoud Zayyat) Nigeria’s new regime of President Muhammadu Buhari may have granted visa to a fleeing ‘ISIS Emir’, and a Lebanese fugitive, Ahmad al-Assir who was arrested Saturday at the airport. He had changed his appearance by shaving his beards, and was trying to escape to Nigeria through Cairo with fake Palestinian travel document that had a valid visa, according to the Lebanese authorities. His arranged Nigeria’s escape has raised questions about a possible collaboration of Assir with the Nigeria’s new regime. E-media enquires sent to the Nigerian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon through the Ambassador Extra Ordinary and Plenipotentiary, Hon Amos Oluwole Idowu and his Administrative Attaché Mr. H. A. Ogunkoya have not been responded to as of press time. Ahmad al-Assir a fugitive Sunni Muslim cleric has been wanted over deadly clashes with the army as he tried to flee the country. Assir had reportedly been on the run since June 2013, when he led his supporters through a deadly battle with the army outside the southern city of Sidon, but Saturday morning, the Lebanese authorities arrested him. His escape route through Cairo to Nigeria was being investigated by the Lebanese authorities and may deface a global effort to assist Nigeria in its own fight against Boko Haram, International Guardian gathered. AFP reported how the army seized Ahmad al- Assir’s headquarters after 48 hours of clashes that killed 18 soldiers, but Assir was able to escape with several of his followers. As a fugitive, Assir continued to issue audio statements threatening further uncertainties. Lebanese authorities consequently sought death sentences, accusing Assir and 53 others of having formed armed groups that attacked the army, killing officers and soldiers, and possessing explosive materials to perpetrate more attacks. A possible collaboration between Assir and Nigeria’s new regime of President Muhammadu Buhari may hurt a regime barely 100 days in the offing. Buhari it may be recalled, damaged every trust and respect with the western countries in his years as a dictator – especially with his involvement in the 1984 failed kidnap of Umaru Dikko, a former Nigerian civilian government minister living in the United Kingdom. The kidnapping took place, but the transportation was botched - causing a damaged relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Subsequently, Buhari’s advocacy for a Boko Haram amnesty has also created doubts over his request for assistance from the United States in fighting terror. Assir is considered an emir in the Islamic State. Months ago, there were reports from small Islamist circles claiming that Assir had become close to al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra Front. ISIS, a deadly Islamist militant group has seized a chunk of land stretching from northern Syria to central Iraq, and has proven to be more brutal and more effective at controlling territory it has seized. Horlawoomey: I got this from Farooq Kperogi's Facebook wall. Its about Tunde Fowler.
After months of delays, ostensibly to properly vet his appointees, President Buhari just appointed somebody that may turn out to be a total fraud. He appointed a certain "Dr." William Babatunde Fowler as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). In a news release signed by Femi Adesina, this red flag appears on the man's qualifications:"Fowler, who holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree [sic] of the Irish International University, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Business Management Association of the United Kingdom." Well, Irish International University is a fraudulent, non-existent university ( seehttp://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/7175730.stm). Second, the Committee of Vice Chancellors in Nigeria has ruled that people with even legitimate honorary doctorates cannot prefix "Dr." to their names, as is the practice globally ( seehttp://www.farooqkperogi.com/.../finally-some-good-news...). I fear that if this Fowler's other qualifications are looked into, a big scandal may break out. His bachelor's degree, for instance, is said to be from the "University of Wisconsin" and his master's degree from "California State University." The trouble is, University of Wisconsin and California State University are multiple-campusuniversities; you can't just say you attended the University of Wisconsin without mentioning the location. The University of Wisconsin has 26 campuses, and California State University has 23 campuses. Something is fishy here! Wailers are liable to die young! Even if the man has only primary 6 result, his excellent performance at the Lagos State revenue office precedes him. All you senseless wailers can kindly do us a favour and Gerrarra here! |

...Of interest was the report of an investigation carried out by a security agency on an aide of the former president from who about N1.5 billion had been recovered from. ... “President Buhari availed Dr. Jonathan of reports of various discreet probes on oil deals, diversion of funds and unwholesome arms deals. From the reports, there is overwhelming evidence of infractions which the former president could not dispute,” the source said. Buhari stated that he was not out to humiliate Jonathan in his fight against graft and assured him of his highest regards for the former president. ... He, however, stated that no sensible person would ignore the spate of impunity that was prevalent in the last administration. The source said Jonathan, in his response, feigned ignorance of many of the infractions. He was said to have mentioned some of his aides, including one of his former chiefs of staff, as one of those who could assist the president to unravel the alleged shady deals committed by some top officials of the previous administration. ... The source said Jonathan gave assurances of his willingness to cooperate with the government if the need arises. “From the evidence so far, it is either the former president lacks the capacity to govern or abdicated his responsibilities. The truth is, there's really no point telling us what we already know. The people who have chosen to defend and deny the existence of this evil (all for sentiments sake), even if Jesus comes down and reveals it to them, they will never agree that anything was ever wrong with GEJ's leadership. According to a source privy to the meeting, the president pointedly told his guests that he has no apology about his commitment to fight corruption. He told the committee members that what he expected from them is to talk to those who have plundered the nation’s treasury to return their loots, saying this is the only way there can be peace.
He asked us what we would do if we were in his shoes. “In the end, he told us that the peace panel would do the nation good if they can appeal and persuade some officials of the Goodluck Jonathan administration to return looted funds.
The president said the recovery of the looted funds should be the concern of the committee and not ignoring the infractions by those entrusted with the nation’s commonwealth. The president said nothing would stop him from the recovery of looted funds and prosecuting offenders,” the source confided in New Telegraph. The quote in RED is what the silly peace committee should be focusing on. I don't think the idea of the whole probes is to send anyone to jail, just return a large chunk of what you have stolen so the funds can be used to bless Nigerians. Is that too much to ask for? |

But in just 3 months almost 60% of the Budget has been generate just from petroleum products alone, not including revenues generated internally and other export. IF THIS MUCH COULD BE GENERATED WITHIN 3 MONTHS WHEN OIL PRICE IS ABOUT $50 PER BARREL, WHERE WAS OUR MONEY GOING TO WHEN IT WAS $110 PER BARREL? You need to understand something here, NOI is a very intelligent woman and by her very presence in the govt of GEJ, she understood more than everyone else, the magnetude of looting going on under GEJ's nose. When she prepared the 2015 budget, she never expected GEJ to lose the election so her 2015 budget factored in the obscene lootocracy that was prevalent at the time. |

AustineE1: Agreed!but dont you wonder why these assumed messiahs from the north never deemed it fit to build a single refinery in the East,a single international airport in the east,a seaport or even appoint an Igbo-man as an Army chief etc the answer is simply because, they are too strategic for a former break away republic and they Igbos should be made to remain apologetic for ever. But you will agree with me that GEJ offered a sense of belonging to the ndigbo....he started the second niger bridge, upgraded Enugu Airport to an international one, appointed the first ever igbo Army chief(which today the powers that be,wishes he ends up in ICJ),it goes on and on. Bro, I am surprised the scale still hasn't fallen off the eyes of some brethren concerning GEJ and the SE. Stop deluding yourself, elections are over and you should now tell yourself the truth, "Jonathan did absolutely nothing for the south-east or Igbos." Appointing one or two people into positions to go and enrich their private pockets is not an achievement worth celebrating. Show me the roads or bridges or schools or industries which Jonathan started and finished in the south east?... The 2nd Niger bridge which is the biggest request which Igbos have been begging successive administration for, what did jonathan do about it?.... Just like his predecessors, he left the project untouched for 4 years until elections and he used it once again (just like his predecessors) to deceive Igbos to vote for him a second time. Even at that, the project was finally arranged as a public-private partnership in which Igbos would have been made to pay for it for the next 25 years from toll gates. This is the same GEJ that built the longer Lokoja-oweto bridge over the river benue for FREE, yet he intended to charge Igbos for 25 years because he saw us as desperate mumus. With the PPP arrangement for the 2nd Niger bridge, even the Anambra state govt could have simply built that bridge decades ago. Yet we are her killing ourselves for GEJ GEJ GEJ. Elections are now over, it is now time we stop lying to ourselves; the main reason a large mass of Igbos supported jonathan isn't because he was wonderful or because he did anything for the SE. Igbos supported GEJ because we loathe the northern born-to-rule mentality. Lets stop deceiving ourselves before we lose our sense of objectivity. Like I said earlier, if you still doubt me, kindly point out for me, the roads or bridges or schools or industries which Jonathan started and finished in the south east? |
