Sounds like a good analysis, but I must confess, I'm not an economist and dont understand up to half of what has just been analysed.

In summary, is the latest trend good or bad for the naira and the Nigerian economy?

Ridiculous!!!
So travelling to neighboring countries which you are somehow better off in terms of economic and infrastructural development is actually what is needed to combat insurgencyhuh Can't he send delegates and mandate them on revealing the next line of action that we are about to take towards fighting the insurgents and imploring them as our neighbors to support it? And to think the neighboring country we are talking about here is Benin Republic is simply nauseating. Issorit let him continu, we are watching and waiting.
Look, everyone is not expected to understand the importance of these trips. You may simply have fallen under this category, but may I remind you of an old but powerful saying regarding important tasks, "if you want it to be done right, then DIY"
Politics › Re: President Buhari Visits Republic Of Benin To Discuss Boko Haram [PHOTOS] by obailala(m): 12:05pm On Aug 01, 2015
At least something is being done differently other than just the blank 'condemning' we used to get in the past. At least we can see efforts being made in the direction of combating insurgency, unlike the immediate past administration that only kept telling us bokoharam is APC for 5 years but yet, not a single arrest of an APC bigman was made in the period.
Politics › Re: Senate Crisis: APC Govs Divided Over Saraki by obailala(m): 10:48am On Aug 01, 2015
Now I'm beginning to understand why APC governors seemed to be performing in the past while their PDP counterparts were just inactive..

In the past the apc governors had no distraction from abuja so they stayed put in their states working. The reverse is now the case and apc governors are always in abuja solving one crisis or the other.

Yea but u concluded before hearing the both sides of the story that she must be vindicated..... I know about all the corruption going on in that hospital.. workers not getting their renumeration even when FG has approved and given cash backing... Btw I never said I was smart... but u are right to assume I am.. cuz I actually am... wink
Jesus Christ!!! Are you blind or could it be that you cant read or maybe you simply have an English comprehension problem?... angry angry

Everyone in the thread was happily condemning the woman but I came in with a different unbiased perspective that the matter should be investigated properly just incase there may be other sides to the story which someone isn't saying. How on this planet did your brain interpret that to mean 'she must be vindicated'?

Abeg abeg abeg, stop spoiling the taste of this my TGIF bigstout for me. angry

hehe I thought you were going to defend him

As for the pics well of the previous one was done by admirers as son people say would they still continue to do another one with the backlash that followed the other one without approval from the governor?
I could never defend such because I personally find it very repulsive. Why would a leader have his face all over billboards in his state even when we aren't about to have elections?.... That is one backward act in the typical African politics I would never be able to understand.

As for the talk about other people putting up the billboards, trust me, no one would put that up if the governors don't support it.
Politics › Re: "Don't Touch My Tribesman", But What Does A Bigot Benefit? (A must read for All) by obailala(m): 7:01pm On Jul 31, 2015
I never would be able to understand the rationale behind the 'dont touch my tribesman' mantra even when the accused is a known crook. The rubbish reached an embarassing peak within the last 5 years and I am tempted to believe what they say about Jonathan's lack of leadership skills causing a depressing division amongst Nigerian tribes.

I work in a hospital, ur repulsively dumb comment, made me give u a repulsively dumb mention... it is obvious that the woman is evil.. if not, all cadres of all health workers will not jubilate at her sack, the way Nigerians jubilated at abacha's demise... Go figure
So because people are jubilating that she was sacked, that is an automatic reason why everyone should conclude that she's truly evil even without hearing both sides of the story?... Did you just call me dumb for demanding to hear both sides of the story before passing my judgement?... I just gave you a similar scenario with Oteh but you dismissed it blatantly claiming that you work in a hospital and that hospital workers cannot be involved in fraud or petty malpractices.

I'm sorry bro, but I don't reason in that way. And may I also add that you are not as smart as you think you are.

Nope, it is a hospital, do doctors embezzle syringes, or is it the blood at the blood bank that they will embezzle....
What kind of repulsively dumb reasoning is this?... So because a person works in a hospital, your wisdom tells you the only thing that can be embezzled is blood or syringes?

How old are you by the way?

God bless you!
I know Nigerians too well not to be moved by this celebration, I remember the celebration that followed a replacement of former commisioner for Education in Delta state some years back just because of the intensive inspection of the schools that she personally embarked on, she would visit a school early and any teacher that was late or absent was dealt with, even School Principals were not left out, they all hated her and she was eventually removed.

Years of curruption have eroded values, people want easy money, a normal mode of working in other countries is termed wickedness in Nigeria.

This is serious! shocked shocked

This has to be the most hilarious news I've heard in a while, inviting a DJ to celebrate a sack grin grin cheesy

The woman must have been a real pain in the backside, but then again, this issue should be investigated properly.

I remember some years back when there were similar jubilations by SEC staff over the suspension of Madam Arunma Oteh. Investigations and insider reports later revealed that Oteh was only hated at the SEC because she blocked all the loopholes through which the staff embezzled funds.

Enough of all these worthless talking, they should just arrest these people already and squeeze their throats to recover the money. Just the same way PDP kept shouting "APC is Bokoharam," yet they weren't able to arrest or indict even a single APC pawn in 5 years, the APC is now boring us with this recurring blab of "PDP stole money."

Arrest the murafukas and recover the monies or just shut up and gerara here!

Firefire:
“We recognise that none of us can succeed alone. In order to win this war, we need the collective efforts of each other, standing together as a formidable force for good, to defeat and end these acts of terror against our people,” the President reportedly said.

This is what we expected from ACN turned APC, but instead we see campaign of calumny against the Nigerian Army and the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.

Terrorism worldwide is fought collectively.

APC why did you play dirty politics with the lives of Nigerians?
It was PDP and GEJ that first reduced the issue of terrorism and insecurity to politics by accusing APC of being responsible for BH; that was insane and irresponsible.

Meanwhile regarding GEJ's visit to Chad, you guys should stop getting it twisted as if you don't what the real issue was. The real issue in that picture you posted is that GEJ visited Chad for a security meeting with Alli Modu Sherrif, a man who is known to have links with BH and this thoughtless move was done just about a week after the Australian guy refreshed the minds of Nigerians about Sheriff's involvements. Taking Sheriff along was the reason behind the uproar by sensible Nigerians.

iwaeda:
Nigeria is really an interesting country; we were told GEJ is slow poke asking for help from neighbours,

but what is the difference now?
There is a clear difference between leaving your fight for your neighbours and asking your neighbours' cooperation in blocking their borders to prevent easy passage for terrorists (personnel and supplies). The difference is that in the past, Chadian soldiers marched into Nigerian soil and were helping us liberate towns seized by terrorists. The difference is a simple case to understand, but I don't expect you to for obvious reasons.
Politics › Re: Buhari’s Appointments Has Shown His Hatred For igbo – Ohaneze by obailala(m): 10:29am On Jul 30, 2015
Buhari should never waste his time trying to appease the Igbos. Just the same way the north could never be appeased by Jonathan even with all he did, the Igbos would always hate Buhari no matter what he does.

Ohaneze for all I care can continue to run their mouths, but Buhari should just focus on delivering his campaign promises as much as possible and his works would speak for him. If Buhari is able to appease all other sections of the country including the south-south, that would mean over 80% approval ratings. The misguided hate filled Igbos can continue throwing their senseless vituperations around.
Politics › Re: Buhari Hates The Igbo Nation by obailala(m): 10:14am On Jul 30, 2015
What sort of rubbish blab is this?... Saying that PMB didn't travel to the US with PDP governors, did GEJ ever go anywhere with ACN or CPC governors?...

Buhari should never waste his time trying to appease the Igbos. Just the same way the north could never be appeased by Jonathan even with all he did, the Igbos would always hate Buhari no matter what he does because they just love to hate.

Ohaneze for all I care can continue to run their mouths, but Buhari should just focus on delivering his campaign promises as much as possible; his works would speak for him and the reasonable igbos would come around with time. If Buhari is able to appease all other sections of the country including the south-south, that would mean over 80% approval ratings and even a large chunk of the Igbos throwing senseless vituperations around would come to their senses.
