ElekeNtioba: idiota read my post well before u reply me. CNBC tweet that called her the "1st African Woman VP" (not just treasury) is still up. Their clarifications between her appointment and Oby's former position is still up too. So CNBC are ignoramuses also
I only posted to show why they are correct in their assertion.
Why dont u read between the lines instead of coming at me with a daft rebuttal. Read between what lines?... So in your wild imagination, you think the person handling the twitter account of CNBC is a god that is incapable of making mistakes?.... this 5 page long thread is populated with people who claim Oby is wrong but the fact is that the tweet by CNBC is very misleading. Even in the main article (for those who bother to read), CNBC clarifies that Oteh is first African VP for treasury while Oby was VP for African region... Several people have even pasted the organogram of the world bank for people like you to see but yet you in your great wisdom, you are still adamant that the twitter handler of CNBC Africa is a god that is infallible. But you believe instantly that Oby who was a former executive in the organisation is an idiot that doesnt know what a VP of WB means? Please please and please, kindly go and read the main article by CNBC so you dont contunue making a fool of yourself in public. Good day! |

That is what CNBC is trying to pass to ur daft APC brain. Isnt it just funny when a daft person keeps insulting others of being daft?

hinwazaka: This is a mistake by the APC government. The disbursement and allocation of funds between the parastatals of government without the oversight and guidance of a minister of finance is ludicrous. The advisors of PMB are either blind or outright corrupt. This are the wounds that will hurt in the future. The same participants in this largese sharing will later on draw out their knifes and stab him like senators did to Julius Caesar. Remember Chaucer's Canterbury tales. This is the time to be smart and not the time to be grand What do you think you are talking about?.... What oversight can a minister provide that the permanent secretary of the ministry who has worked as a deputy to several finance ministers not provide? If there is anything you should be noticing about this new government, then it should be the transparency and accountability which PMB is instilling in the system by ensuring that the public is informed of all incoming and outgoing funds. Up until now, the former finance is still running around in circles trying to explain how ECA funds were spent with only an alleged secret approval by the president alone. |

Chai I don't envy his job at all The statement was uncalled for but it was just a honest statement. Every leader does that in every part of the world. Besides, PMB said it will only be "in some areas" but that he would develop every area of the nation as required by the constitution. You should go and listen to the whole video instead of listening to only the sentence you want to hear. For instance, it is only a dolt that would expect political positions to be shared equally across all regions. Even the Jonathan that you people support made a much more crude and senseless statement in Portharcourt during the campaigns. He said states where the governors dont support him should not expect FG presence and projects. This was said in Rivers State where the citizens gave GEJ almost 100% of their votes yet GEJ starved millions of Rivers' indigenes of development because he had a disagrrement with 1 man (Amaechi). |

Jorussia: I having been following the comments of people here, who are criticising PMB ,for saying that in some issues he won't treat regions that gave him over 95% and those that give less than 7% in the last poll equally.I must confess that i have been very disappointed at such comments, because they have not been so far based on reality. Let's face reality, there is no way,you will expect the SE and SW to enjoy the same level of federal presence in both appointment and infrastructures in the current administration. It will be a political suicide for pmb to ever contemplate spreading developmental projects across all regions he equally. It will very unwise for pmb to favour regions/ states that give him minimal or no support during the last elections over those that him maximum support. In adminstration of GEJ,the sw didn't enjoy the same federal presence as with the SE,because they didn't support PDP.As somebody from Edo state, it,will be unfair for any other state in the South south, to get more federal presence than us in dis govt, because we supported both APC and PMB,more than any other state in the region in d last poll.Let me conclude by asking,If God himself has favourite among his children, who is PMB not to have his favourite among his regions and states? It is only a foolish person that would be expecting PMB to treat each region equally in all areas. PMB made it clear that 'in some issues', areas that did not support him should not expect the same treatment as areas that supported him. For instance, only a dolt would expect PMB to share political appointments equally. It doesnt work that way in any part of the world. |

Sometimes I do not know if it's the hatred for buhari or the love for Jonathan that turns some people into dullards. I just marvel at the sheer ignorance of Nigerians sometimes.
The CNBC statement is clearly wrong and a simple look at the world bank hierarchy (past and present) would confirm this. There are several (over 20) vice presidents in the world bank handling different portfolios. Even Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was also a world bank VP at some point.
But obviously, the wailers think the CNBC twitter handler is more knowledgeable about the organogram of the world bank than someone who has actually occupied an executive office in the world bank.
I can already see this thread filled with very excited wailers who are excited at their own ignorance.
I always tell, people that hate kills faster than ebola but they never listen. Just see the wailers foaming in thier mouths and hating on Oby with the very last fibre of their being. Get a life people!

Buhari has made several slips in the past, some of which include calling his own party, All Nigerian People’s Congress, referring to his vice as, Yemi Osibande instead of Yemi Osinbajo. Also during his trip to Germany, Nigerian president referred to the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel as President Mishelle and called her country West Germany.

sauceEEP: I've been wondering, why is barcanister always referred to as a protection seeker? Is anyone/group after him? Hahaha... I will try to answer this question... Barcanista was previously the head of the APC e-rats on Nairaland up until a week to the general elections when he shockingly decamped to PDP. Before his decamping, he secretly solicited some form of 'protection' (wages) from APC card carrying members who were active on Nairaland for his stellar efforts in promoting the course of the APC and also tearing the PDP apart. His pleas for pecuniary protection could not be granted because it seemed he approached the wrong people. Fast forward to a week before general elections, in the strangest and most shocking manner ever imagined, he publicly decamped to the PDP and started glorifying the same GEJ and PDP he had successfully torn to pieces in the past 12 months. His case was even more worrisome considering the fact that he didn't see a need to at least change his Nairaland moniker. From all indications, he seemed to have gotten the much sought 'protection' from the PDP, hence his switch. In anger and disgust, some APC Nairalanders exposed his secret letters where he was soliciting protection, hence his new found title, "the protection seeker." By the way, the dude seems to be jobless because when he was in the APC, he was virtually the head of the APC Nairaland e-rats, today he's in the PDP and serves in the exact same capacity. |

President Obama has left the US to travel to Kenya for his African tour that will take him to Ethiopia also, leaving the Nigerian President, Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in the US. International Diplomats were not perplexed about this unusual development, as they are aware that Buhari's visit was planned at his instance, through Mr David Axellrod (Obama's former Campaign manager) and this overlapped Obama's long scheduled African tour. Buhari's visit was described by the US Foreign office as a private visit and not an official one and there is no way it will interfere with Obama's official program. The Nigerian President will not be coming back with any documented agreement with the US pledging any help on the Nigerian economy or the war on terror, implying that this N2.2billion tour succeeded in achieving nothing for Nigeria and is now another wasted journey. Flets: It is absolute stupidity to justify the delay in appointing ministers by referencing the Obama administration who had no cabinet members for several months. Even without a president, the USA will function because they have strong institutions and systems. The president only makes modifications to these systems to make them better. Unfortunately, everything grinds to a halt in Nigeria at every change of government because the systems are non-existent or not strong enough. That is why we cannot apply same policies in both cases. The US dollar cannot depreciate the way the naira has done in the past six weeks because of absence of US cabinet members because the institutions are strong and semi-autonomous. Before September, Dollar will be selling for 500naira. And then, even the best of heads as Finance minister will have a herculean task in his or her hands. Some sectors of the Nigerian society can wait for September but definitely not the economy. President Buhari has just given a very clear explanation as to why he will not be in a hurry to appoint ministers no matter what his detractors or what anyone thinks; ministries have to be purged of leaking holes and the strong institutions which you reference the US as having would have to be created in Nigeria FIRST before he appoints ministers. What is too much to understand in that?... Of what use is it to hurriedly appoint ministers and then the 'business as usual' of monumental lootocracy continues?... I and everyone else who voted Buhari voted him to do things differently. If one of the differences involves carrying out a thorough purging of the system and strengthening the institutions FIRSTLY, then so be it. I also want those ministers to be appointed, but Buhari is the president and I am very confident he knows what he is doing. As for the concerns of things getting more and more difficult due to the delays, I am sure you read the final sentence where he says “Have patience. All things become difficult before they become easy.” |
