dewstar:That's still the same thing, it's a party affair. There were lots of favoured candidates that could be chosen within the APC but they opted for someone with little or no stains because they knew they had to impress Nigerians. That is what change is all about, that is what is expected of reasonable leaders. GEJ would have won for himself some political points and done his global image some good if he tactically agreed to drop Obanikoro and replace him with someone else from PDP. If GEJ really felt he owed Koro a favour, there are many other ways Koro would have been compensated whilst GEJ still appears to the world as the 'good guy.' But in his "I dont give a damn nature," he felt forcing Koro on Nigerians was a wise political move. Not being able to see this is is exactly what we mean when we say he's clueless. |
saintTim:Elections are like a game of chess. Everyone knows GMB owns the NW, NE and half of the NC. Everyone knows GEJ owns the SE and SS and half of the NC. The real battle ground in the 2015 elections is the SW. Anyone who wins in the SW wins the election. Hence it only makes sense that Prof Osinbajo concentrates his efforts on the SW. By the way, when last did you see GEJ campaigning in the SE or SS? |
kestolove95:Very funny question but you really cant be blamed ![]() I've never heard any stories (good or bad) from Cross Rivers. The state seems to have a ghost governor |
fosign:There was a reason why GMB did not choose Amaechi as his running mate even though Amaechi was really a favoured candidate. It was simply in response to public opinion that Amaechi is dubious. However much can't be said about Jonathan who seems to be under a very strong voodoo spell that leads him to ONLY choose and retain dubious characters in the most exalted positions. That my friend, is the difference between both candidates. |
This is the exact reason why a person like GEJ has to be kicked out; this is the exact reason why we need CHANGE from this present government of irresponsibility. Obanikoro's image is already tarnished with the election rigging scandal and there are over 1000 eligible candidates within the PDP fold that can be picked to replace Obanikoro. The APC wasn't asking Jonathan to replace him with an APC member for crying out loud. Why does Jonathan continue to shoot himself on the foot and soil the already stained image of Nigeria? This should have been a juicy opportunity for Jonathan to prove to the world that he thinks responsibly; simply dropping Obanikoro and picking someone else to replace him (at least until after the election) would have bought GEJ a few political points. I absolutely do not understand why GEJ continues to rubbish whatever is left of his rubbished reputation by insisting and forcing dubious characters into elevated positions. The worst part of this case is that PDP/GEJ supporters would think this is a commendable victory over the opposition; some are already making biblical statements to applaud this shameful decision... and an outsider reading this would think the APC was actually asking GEJ to appoint an APC man as minister ![]() May God deliver Nigeria from these thoughtless and careless leaders! |
TRUTHTELA:@Op The answer to your query is elaborated below and you would have known this if you spared a second to do a little research. Your thoughtless ethnic paranoia and the continuous 'victim card' will only limit your ability to think or research. Hence you jump into the public scene making senseless ethnic fuelled allegations of bias without even attempting the simplest form of research. Okay, if you erroneously think SR are against Igbos (at least you agree the stories they report are not far from the truth), why can't you start up a similar body like SR which will beam its searchlight on others?... At least the Nigerian masses would be the beneficiaries at the end. TheOtherview: |

Well, in as much as the contract may have been criminally inflated (this isn't a new thing), I thank God the military hardware were actually procured this time around unlike before. The arrival of these recently procured hardware is responsible for the recent victories against the terrorists. The real questions we should be asking are, until this late 2014 contract, what has happened to the trillions of Naira budgeted for the military since 2010 till late 2014?... What were those trillions used for? |
Is that a bible or is it the 2015 national budget which NOI presented to NASS? |
"This was shared as breaking news by Dr. Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo on her Facebook page this morning"Is this suppose to be a joke or is the Op high on some kind of banned substances? ![]() |
“The reason is that, President Jonathan is essentially a persuasive and emotional speaker and he was presented as such by Niboro in 2011 because Niboro wasn’t an attack dog so the President’s identity wasn’t contradicted and that was why many Nigerians became emotionally attached to the President.I so so agree with this write-up 100%. A question I have always asked, WHERE IS IMA NIBORO? Ima Niboro was so charismatic in the way he presented the charismatic personality of Jonathan. I remember the days when whenever I heard the name 'Ima Niboro,' I quickly rushed to my TV in excitement to hear what Ima/Jonathan had to say to Nigerians. I still cannot understand where Jonathan went wrong. I can't understand why Jonathan had to drop Mr Niboro as his spokesman. Never in Nigeria's history has a president been so loved as Jonathan was loved in 2010/2011. But just like someone pointed out, after rising to power on the overwhelming goodwill of the people, Jonathan made a career grinding decision by abandoning the people and taking sides with the politicians and cabals (who ironically were previously his worst nemesis who prevented him from getting to power). Jonathan started losing it when he sacked Ima Niboro and exhumed from the graveyard of history, characters like Doyin Okupe, Anthony Anenih and Edwin Clark and made these individuals pivotal in his government. |
A very insensitive and ill thought move by Paul. The danger here doesn't even have anything to do with politics, rather some misguided individuals may regard this statement as a blasphemy against their religion and then resort to needless violence |
Finally this is exactly what Nigeria needs at this time; a dictator who is ready to step on toes and flog some silly politicians. Too many people within and outside government just do whatever they like cos they know 'nothing will happen.' It shocks me how so many people do not still see it this way. |
If this policeman's problems are listed out on this page, it will be a whole testament and many people abusing this officer of the law on this thread will keep shut ![]() |
Things Jonathan and PDP refused to do in 5 years because they believed they were accountable to no one, they are now scrambling to do in 6 weeks all because they smelt the wrath of the people during the campaigns.. Odiegwu!... I pity anybody who is deceived by these last minute barage of scams. |
Sometimes I wonder the kind of plant some of these PDP guys even smoke. How dare any sane human talk of economic progress under GEJ even with all the crystal clear indices? President Jonathan met the National Debt at $26bn, today it is $70bn.. |
StarFist:Jesus Christ!.. |
CHaii... This FFK sef... the man must be high on akpala okuko ![]() |
Whynotthetruth:Wait until he gets to power. Nobody gets to power on his own or by his own strength alone. That is a major principle of attaining power; you have to ride on the wings of others (both good and bad) to get to the top. Just patiently wait until he gets to power before making this your statement again and then we shall know who's really the boss. As for Prof Dora, you are rather the one who is not seeing the bigger picture. I only cited an example to let you understand that it is possible to cleanse a system without having to kill everybody. Yes she might have sacked a few people, but she didn't sack everyone. There is no organisation which is made up of only saints. You actually need the good and the bad to make progress; what matters most is the ability of the pilot at the top to control the excesses of the bad seed. GEJ obviously cannot control the bad seed, he cant control anyone at all including his own wife. Even Jesus Christ wined and dined with sinners and he even had a Judas amongst his kitchen cabinet. At the end, every one serves a purpose. |
Isiterere:The irony of it all is that the so called $16bn which we accuse OBJ of spending, Jonathan and his crew have quietly spent more than that even though the power sector has been privatised, yet we have no improvement in power. I'm still glued to my TV and radio to hear the news when we shall attain up to 5000mw. Since 1999 we've been hearing 4000mw and whenever we take 1 step ahead, we take 3 steps backwards. In 16 years, PDP has spent a record of over $30bn, yet generators still sell faster than food in Nigeria. |
@Noviolence2015 Because you are mindless, that is why you will adjudged President Jonathan's reign as "5 years of misrule". Otherwise you would have noticed changing across all sectors in Nigeria. You mind is only fed with the propaganda carried out by the opposition to brand this government as corrupt. Please show me any government before Gej that: 1. Paid attention to Benin Ore Road and had it fixed or Abuja lokoja Benin express way. - What Nonsense!.. Which Abuja-Lokoja road are you talking about?.. the one in Nigeria or the one somewhere else?... When last did you pass through that road?... A road that has been under construction since OBJ and is still under construction presently, how is that an achievement for GEJ?... Also the Benin-Ore road that we keep talking about, only a section of the road has been fixed, Oh Yes, the worst portion of the road has been fixed but a large percent of the road still has ongoing works. This road has been under construction for over 10 years (since the time of OBJ) and is STILL under construction. So what's all these senseless noise about? 2. Please show me any government before Gej that paid due attention to agriculture; a sector looking viable for bright and young Nigerians to dabble into. This sector even received praises from Kwankwaso of Kano 3. Please show me any government that got the NASS to pass the local content act that had led to the creation of job opportunities and modern Nigerian billionaires in the oil and gas sector beyond the stealing recorded in the military era. 4. Please show me any government that revamped our aviation sector like Gej. Currently our airspace is adjudged one of the safest in Africa and of course the world. Our airport have received well deserved lifts and reconstruction. New airports built under Gej and many others in the pipeline. 5. More youths are empowered via the SURE-P programme. - what percentage of youths are empowered?... You claim there is economic progress, you claim the opposition is spreading false propaganda but figures from the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (which by the way is an FG/PDP parastatal) states that poverty and unemployment has increased aggressively in the last 5 years. GEJ even had to tactically avoid these internal statistics and he campaigned by stating external statistics from CNN and world bank; who does that? 6. Tell me when last Nigeria's was referred to as the largest economy in Africa. - Are you serious?... Are you actually ignorant or are you also acting ignorant just to deceive more people?... How is Nigeria REALISING that Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa suppose to be an achievement of Jonathan?... even though the rebase exercise which revealed this also revealed that the main factor which pushed us above South Africa was the boom in the telecommunication sector (introduced by OBJ)?... If you reason in this way, am I sure I should even be arguing with you? ![]() 7. Automobile assembly plants are springing up everywhere... Nissan, Inoson, Peugeot etc 8. Nigerians trains are back on track , of this was history under past leadership. - Billions upon billions spent on trains and yet we get refurbished 1970 trains running on refurbished narrow gauge rail tracks built in the 60's. In this century, you are given a colourfully painted train which takes 30 hours to run from Lagos to Kano and you expect me to celebrate this trash because other governments didnt do it?... I'm sorry, I am way smarter than that. 9. The power sector has been privatized; reducing the influence of government in energy generation. This sector will naturally overcome the phase they are in currently because private investors are driving the sector. - How has that improved power supply in your house?.. How has that reduced the amount you spend weekly on generator fuel?.. Please learn to be objective in your measurement of progress/achievements. It may interest you to note that the $16billion which we accuse OBJ of squandering on NIPPS, every single power plant commissioned so far by GEJ was a product of that same $16bn, yes most of the power turbines (which make a huge part of the cost) were already procured and were rotting away at the ports. Now the interesting twist you need to understand is that under GEJ, more than that $16bn has been squandered even though the power sector has been privatised yet we still see no change in power. Dont let yourself be deceived. 10. This government in collaboration with Lagos state, contained and tackled the Ebola scourge that the western world wanted to play politics of vicination with. - Absolute rubbish! The same govt under which health volunteers kept complaining of lack of funds, delayed payment of allowance etc. Even simple accessories like oxygen cylinders were unavailable. State governments had to finance the entire battle for several weeks before help came from Abuja. Even the emergency fund approved by the FG, the health minister came forward to tell Nigerians the funds were meant for purchasing vehicles and not for ebola. Please please please! the battle and the victory against ebola had absolutely nothing to do with the FG. 11. Only under this government that our national football team won African cup of a nation; can't remember when last we won anything serious. - and this is also an achievement right?... For this to be celebrated as political achievement, it is pure proof that this administration is useless... Remember this administration was also the first under which Nigeria couldn't qualify for a mere nations cup; is that also an achievement? 12. This government has empowered more women than any other government in the history of our country. - Show me evidence?... is this the first govt to appoint female ministers? Accordingly, what you have failed to do is to take into account that the Northern Elders Forum led by Ciroma with Buhari and Atiku as members promised to make Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan. - Can you please just SHUT UP and point out to me when or where Buhari promised to make Nigeria ungovernable? This was the time we recorded the introduction of sucide bombers and strife escalated to earn the name tag "insurgency". Only because the elders from that region showed no will power to support federal government's effort to extinguish the Boko haram crisis. - The only reason the insurgency got so bad and out of control is because instead of tackling it head-on, GEJ diabolically decided to play the game of politics with it by claiming the opposition APC and Buhari were behind it, all in a bid to gather sympathy votes. 5 years on, you keep telling everyone the APC and Buhari are behind BH, yet not a single evidence or a single arrest has been made implicating the opposition. Over 1000 BH fighters have been arrested in the last 5 years and the combined effort of the SSS and military could not find any link between BH and APC through interrogations. In fact the only concrete evidences found point to the PDP with people like Senator Ali Ndume, Ali mordu sherrif and even Namadi Samobo being implicated. In 2011, out of the almost 3million voters in Borno, ~85% voted for Buhari of CPC. Can you please explain to me how Buhari/APC would be decimating the population of people who will definitely vote for him?... God will severely judge Jonathan for sitting back and allowing over 10,000 people to be killed all because of politics. Order than the foregoing, what is it that you have adjudged "misrule". Oh because the Petroleum Minister is a woman and decided to deal with Nigerian men who feel the resources of a nation should rightly be allocated to them. Media propaganda has cooked up figures that she has stolen, no one has ever given credible facts on sound grounds. Sanusi did try but ended up illustrating to the world that he had no business in banking talkless of the CBN. - Media propaganda right?.. Let the FG be bold and release the PWC report for Nigerians to be the judge. Telling us that only $1.4billion is missing is absolute rubbish; that is not to even say $1.4billion is insignificant but we need to know the full content of the report. Even Diezani herself stated that the report wouldn't be released to the public because "it would e too distracting." And in your wisdom you think something is not being hidden?... okay let's forget this episode and focus on the CONFIRMED cases. Ribadu report on the subsidy scam revealed a staggering $6.3billion paid for ZERO fuel import. Where is that report today?... DUSTBIN, yet someone foolishly thinks it is because she's a woman that's why Nigerians are crying out! Quite interesting, the GMB you speak for is yet to account for over $2billion dollars missing during his time as Petroleum Minister in the 70s, needless to point out that going by inflation rate, that is a whole lot of money today. Furthermore everyone knows that your man GMB executed 80% of PTF project in the North as its chairman. - Another silly allegation. I say silly because the records are very accessible all over the place for you to go and educate yourself yet you choose to remain in your ignorance and shamelessly peddle senseless falsehoods because the truth doesn't favour your cause. We also know that ineptly corrupt man could not buy his nomination form but his children are all studying abroad. His corrupt state of mind may explain why his wife can muzzle up over N135 m in donation to charity that never existed till election year. This evil man called Buhari that refused to call his rampaging cult followers in the north to order after the 2011 election is the man advocating for change? |
barcanista:Was Gen Buhari ever in PDP?... NO! Was Prof Osinbajo ever in PDP?... NO! Please let's leave all these talk about "APC major players were once in PDP so therefore APC government must be the same as PDP." That is a fallacious statement. In every organisation or gathering, what matters most is the character of the person at the top. When Prof. Dora Akunyili was appointed the head of NAFDAC in April 2001, she didn't have to sack everyone previously working at the agency. But her personal zeal, focus and militantly uncompromising stance forced everyone within NAFDAC to sit up and do the right thing. Owing to her strong stance, the formally corrupt and impotent organisation became very efficient. I repeat and I repeat again, what matters most is the nature of the person at the top. Even though Prof Dora may be gone today (God bless her soul), we still have thousands of Dora's in Nigeria today who are capable of delivering if only the oga at the top would permit them to. If you place people like Stella Oduah or Bode George or Amaechi or even Tinubu under the authority of a Gen Buhari, they would act accordingly and you would be surprised at how efficient these same set of thieves can be. The last time I checked, no matter the antecedents of the individuals in APC, what matters most is the integrity and courage of the person at the top. |
Noviolence2015:For you it may not be a question of right or wrong, but for me, it is ALWAYS a case of right or wrong. I thank God we are finally beginning to have more black men and women of Nigerian origins who are now thinking differently and this is the only way we can get it right if many more people do the right thing instead of succumbing to the usual ways. Even if he's my father, I cannot and will not support a stinkingly corrupt, weak and indecisive leader who has misruled for 5 years to continue plundering our nation for a further 4 years all because i am afraid of doing something differently; all because i want to preserve the retrogressive ethnic and religious bigotry which we are known for in the black race. Brother, for how long shall we continue to preserve this retrogressive lifestyle? You say Buhari's only achievement is regional and religious bigotry, but it is unfortunate that that is all your eyes are seeing. As for me, I can bet my life that the nation would experience less corruption under a Buhari than the gory stories we've been hearing in the past 5 years. I wonder why you also cant see this aspect. That is what matters most to me and not the religious or ethnic sentiments; corruption is the greatest problem faced by the entire black race that continues to make us look sub-human. Why can't we just for once try something differently? ... do we really love the status-quo?... Why are we so pessimistic that "things can never get better, so lets just continue managing the usual"? Finally you are free to vote for GEJ to continue with the status-quo but na beg i dey beg u, do we really have to continue like this all because we are scared of the unknown?... what's the worst that could happen? |
Noviolence2015:So because religion and ethnicity plays a role in our warped system, so because we have the silly federal character in our constitution then that automatically makes it a right thing which should be perpetuated? Mr Old man, just like i mentioned earlier, I reason on a different intellectual level and cant be caught dwelling on such irrelevance as religios politics when there are weightier issues to think about |
Noviolence2015:Please I am tired of this back and forth argument. Come March 28th, please vote your choice. As for me, there are too many weighty issues to be considered when choosing a leader and I am too intellectually exposed to be deceived or bothered by the religious or ethnic nonsense. |
Obascoetubi:WHAT OF THE PASTORS WHO COLLECTED BRIBES FROM GOODLUCK AND ARE ENDORSING THIEVES OPENLY, DO THEY STILL HAVE ANOINTING? |
I'm not surprised. GEJ's greatest introduction to the Nigerian political scene is the 'politics of blame.' If a PDP man's wife is unable to give birth, it must be APC. #StupidPeople |
The support of GEJ and the fear of election loss continues to make the PDPians/GEJites act like individuals high on cow dung. |
Noviolence2015:Seeing things from ONLY the microscopic prism of politics will never allow you understand my simple explanations. All I am saying is that there have always been sharia courts in certain areas of northern Nigeria since the beginning of time. Nigeria's real sharia problems arose when in the year 2000, a certain paedophile called Yerima decided to make an extremist and intolerant version of sharia law compulsory in his state. Now referring to the topic of this thread which says "Buhari Implicitly Suggests That Certain Aspect Of Sharia Will Be Made Law," my responses so far have been based on this wilful misconception. The sharia law in our constitution which Buhari talked about has to do with marriage/inheritance disputes and is NOT the extremist, inhumane, compulsory type. This form of sharia law is optional to the accused and has ALWAYS existed in the Nigerian constitution. It makes no sense for anyone to imply that Buhari wants to introduce something which has already been in existence in our constitution even before Buhari was born. |
naijareferee:ALL THESE JONATHAN SUPPORTERS SNIFFING COW DUNGS AND CLINGING TO STRAWS ALL IN THE NAME OF POLITICS. YOU POST A PICTURE OF PROF OSINBAJO'S IMMEDIATE FAMILY YET YOU STILL CLING TO YOUR FOLLY CONCERNING THE POOR OLD DUDE IN THE FIRST PICTURE. DID OSINBAJO TELL YOU IT WAS HIS FATHER/BROTHER/RELATION?.... EVEN IF HE'S RELATED TO THE PROF, WHAT IF THE MAN CHOOSES TO LIVE IN HIS TRADITIONAL HOME AGAINST THE ENTREATIES OF HIS 'COMFORTABLE' RELATIONS? |
Noviolence2015:Sharia customary law is different from the inhumane form of sharia you refer to... Go and do your research, sharia customary law has been in existence in the Nigerian constitution and has been practised since forever. Also, a culprit has a right to choose whether to be tried in a sharia court or not. |
soe:To further clarify your statement, Sharia customary law has been in practice in Nigeria since 1960. Over 20 years ago, I learnt about the existence of sharia courts in my JSS1 social studies. Politicians are simply playing on the ignorance of millions of NIgerians to stir up the waters where there is no storm. |
