Can l have a situation where l keep the old generator cable but run a cable just for the solar inverter, where the solar inverter only powers lights and selected sockets. You need an electrician at this point. |

preyeamaorutobi: Thank you sir for your response. I was told I need a 24V inverter to be able to run my fridge that was why I was thinking of upgrading the inverter to 2.5kva. I don't know if I'm in the right track but if getting just a another battery will solve the problem then I will be very happy. Your inverter is 1.5kva which Is adequate to provided power for the fridge. You just need more current (battery) so you don't damage your existing battery ( i no wan dey explain in details) Your 60A mppt controller would not function to its maximum abilities since your system is a low voltage system so pwm are better |

preyeamaorutobi: Good afternoon, great people. I found out about this wonderful solar forum just last night, and I took my time to read some comments. I really appreciate everyone here for their time invested in answering questions.
Please, I'm a newbie on this. I just got these solar systems. Glow Energy 1.5kVA 12V Inverter Glow Energy 220ah 12V Battery Felicity Mppt Charge Controller 60ah, 100W Panel 6, and 300W Panel 2.
I got them about two weeks ago, and I found out that it can't power my inverter fridge with these specs.
Rating 220-240v, 50/60Hz Rated current: 1.15A Defrosting input: 220v/230-2240v Rated input of heater cord: 95w Annual energy consumption: 235 kW/year Rated power input: 65w Dimensions: 555 (W) x 585 (D) x 1520 (H) mm
I use the system for my 50-inch smart TV 120W 1 laptop lighting. Power bank.
I never knew it wouldn't be able to power my fridge; I felt it would because it is an inverter fridge. My mistake was not doing proper research before getting it. So please, what will you advise I do or change to enable it to power the fridge and also a washing machine of 7.5 kg? Why can't you run your fridge? You just need an extra battery connected to the system then a pwm controller. Unless you are having convictions to sell everything off and start afresh (that's if you are planning to run future upgrade) |

I use nepa light to charge it. It use to have backup light of about 6 - 10hours when I started using it. My major load is my 65inches TV and 3fans with bulbs. Now, the setup get fully charge in less than 2hours and get drained in less than 2hours. What could be the problem. Get an external charger. |

ajabani4allah: Bro, that inverter is not strong enough to tolerate leaving it 24/7 on, it will spoil in no time. Get PSW sachet inverter for this You must have had bad experiences with satchet inverters, those inverters are durable and can run 247. They have the same architecture with PSW just different output stage.( In Psw the outstage has a microcontroller that generates spwm that is linked to the output MOSFET) ajabani4allah: That part "put off the inverter" pls can you shed more light on this? I have a 10A 8pin DIY relay I am using but it can only transfer the load but not put off the inverter. Can the relay achieve this? I need something that can also put off the inverter when I am on grid to save my battery from ideal power consumption of the inverter You will need 2 relays Or a double pole double throw relay One will attend to the load transfer then the other one will take care of the inverter. |

FourQu: I understand you don't have the materials or need to do a diy project at present. For example The guy doing his own up there might need it for himself (hence the justification for his spendings) OR someone paid him to build a battery backup and he chose to document his build for us here to learn. That's what a diy thread is about.
I don't expect you to run out and buy parts to discribe a build to whoever asks for help here . . . it's just that I expect you to first list out materials the person needs and bit of the process to be followed to achieve what the person wants to achieve.
It's all good sha, I'm enjoying the thread. I myself M in the middle of a build concerning something else but I need a battery backup hence my interest in this thread. No wahala chief. Keep following and contributing.... Document the project you are building now . You never can tell who might need it too |

FourQu: Even if I'm not a newbie don't you believe there might be other newbies looking at the thread to see if they can learn one or two things from people like you?
Why hide knowledge behind a pay wall on a DIY thread? See the guy documenting his own build up there, that is exactly what a diy thread is supposed to be comprised of.
People building stuffs and posting updates for OTHERS TO LEARN from If you will fund the process,I don't have problem in doing it. The person documenting is not telling you how much he is spending. I have explained the process of achieving that changeover switch and charging stuff.... If you need to see the whole hardware, money would be spent. I get satchet inverter we fit use (you made me to go and check my scraps)

FourQu: It's like you don't understand what DIY means
D o I t Y ourself
It means I want to do it by myself. I want to buy the needed materials by myself. I want to connect everything by myself. I want to install it by myself. i understand the risks involved and still want to LEARN HOW TO DO IT FOR MYSELF !!!
If anybody feels it's too much then they can contact you for help, but FIRST offering to only help someone achieve a task here for a fee is against the core values of DIY you need to share with people how you do stuffs so they can then go ahead to Do It For Themselves . . . You get?
I no understand una. Go to DIY forums or threads on all other websites and check how it's done. Why are the Nigerians method always different Leveraging people experience on A DIY is also against the ethics of DIY. Because think about it, why do I have to share my experience if you decide to DO IT YOURSELF (DIY). By DIY you learn everything yourself and ask questions when you are stuck. You never do anything you dey ask question and process?. Take your time and extract information research them then implement. Those diy forums you are calling Will still ask for your progress. |

FourQu: Is that why you deliberately left out mentioning the parts that cost the said amount? 🤔
I mean, you said you did yours right? You must have a parts list or schematic don't you? unless sharing is an issue i don't see why you'd make it harder for someone else to be able to do what you claimed you did
After all, this is a DIY aka hobbyist thread I have not done it yet. But it's something that I can do . For the parts you will need a relays, resistor, capacitors, diode, transistor, Vero board, soldering led. Inverter uses the same thing just that it's microcontroller controlled. The block diagram is something like this Mains=> rectifiers> switch=> relays =>out put The relay will be having 2 power sources |

TechGeek777: Am not, imagine the short time he has used that pack to be paying 50k for a damaged or swollen cell yet no solution.
If they was documented warranty he would have activated that clause and this issue would have been resolved.
Even your battery pack when one user reported issue with it here 3-4 months ago then you were ill, you resolved it without further complaints from the user.
I must commend your recent price I saw on 48v 280A Grade A EVE Cells, that it's almost 200k diff from Selina from china, which is no brainer waiting for length of time.
So @Valto 5yrs is a good warranty for Grade A EVE Cells at the very least! The problem is not to document a warranty. It's to honour it. From experience, I can tell you that you can make a bad product look good if you have good customer support/service. So documenting warranty is never the problem |
