Considering the current price of fuel, I will encourage everyone to try and go solar no matter how small.
I know it's not easy but yeah but petrol at 450/litre(this is the price in warri as of yesterday) isn't easy either.
If you decide to start small, Get the solar panels first then later you can acquire every other materials need.
Always have in mind the farmers will make more money and your lunch would no longer be imported. |

tpben: @Obnoxious2001
I need a cost estimation for these loads.
32' TV, 1 dstv decoder, 6 bulbs, Charging of phones and (maybe upto 10 or more), 1 laptop
Thank you boss in anticipation You can use this same quotation. If you are using 32" TV down, 100ah battery 12v (75k -85k) 250W solar panel (65k warri price) 30A controller (low quality 8k, high 14500) 1000w inverter (depending on your budget go for pure sine wave is around 70k. But if your low on cash, buy sachet inverter is around 15k) However if you need more backup, you can increase your battery to 200A and 250w solar panel or 300w * 2. It should serve you. Please prices vary depending on your location. |

What would you do if your fellow neighbor keeps running gen in a corridor close to your room where it is always disturbs you?
The main story So where am living, we have a rule that everybody takes/runs his gen to the front of the compound where the disturbance is lesser. A new tenant in the compound is running his gen in the corridor, so as an old tenant I told him about it but the guy gave me assurance and said I will call my electrician.
Peace and respectfully, i said no problem and relax. One week is gone by and he has been avoiding me even when I am trying to speak with him about it.
I decided to speak with my landlord who made the law and he was sounding bent, like trying to defend the guy says he nor too hold, the floor is wet if na u you go out your own gen for their, I go tell am make he shift am small, your former neighbor them be stupid people ....
What marvels me now is this man made the rule and even charged me 7-10k for breaking the law.....
Omo I was expecting this but now I dey find come back. Am considering tapping the light since its clear I cannot win the case.
What would you have done if you are in a similar situation? |

Immorttal: Good evening all. Am a newbie here. I installed 2 220ahs Luminous battery with Afriipower 1.7kva with no solar panels.
I planned to upgrade with solar panels in the future.
My problem is that my area has zero electricity so I planned to use my 4000w generator to charge the battery but that doesn't seem to work at first, it was showing MAIN FAILS on the screen, so we changed the AVR of the generator and it began to charge.
It charged for 5 hours in the morning but when I started my generator this evening it stopped charging with MAIN FAILS on the screen of the inverter.
Am on my day 2 of this problem. I need serious help as am lost on every front. I will appreciate anyone's assistance regarding my ordeal. Get an external charger for the battery. That would charge the battery better than the inverter. |

alfaHaywhy: Hello good day boss. It's nice going through this thread. It's been illuminating.(pun not intended )
Its been on my mind to add solar energy to reduce my Nepa bill. So I'm a student, major appliances include a Phone charger, laptop charger, fan. Additional includes TV and a pS4. What kind of setup can I budget for.
*The TV and PS4 is not of utmost importance... Just something to enough to charge my gadgets and collect fan, the heat for Akure no be for play 😁.
Thanks. 12v 100ah battery (75 - 85k) 250w solar panel (55k - 65) 1ka satchet inverter ( 20k) 30A scc (7k for the cheap own or you can buy the 14k own(this displays how much amps the panel produces) would serve you . wire dc and ac breakers workmanship for who will do the job. this should cost roughly 250k. goodluck boss |

Geovanni412: Op, what exactly is the issue?
Is it lack of interest or memory issues.
If it is lack of interest, you need to change course
If it is memory, there are a number of books and techniques you can apply. GEt yourself a book by Dominic O'Brien and apply the strategies there.
I used the strategies in the said book to get a first class in Law. The most important concept other than memory strategies discussed in the book in the concept of spaced repetition. Read a topic, revise the next day, 1 week later and one month later.
Also, if it is memory issues, watch videos by Ali Abdaal on notetaking and memory strategies.
I used his notemaking strategy and anki flash cards to pass law school. Ali's technique involves taking notes by asking questions instead of copying the text verbatim.
Anki flashcards is a bit different. You'll need to watch specific videos on how to use it. If it interests you, let me know and I can guide you a bit on that.
If you combine memory strategies, taking notes as questions, spaced repetition and anki flashcards - provided that you understand the topic and the nature of questions typically asked in exams, you will do just fine.
Feel free to DM me if you are confused about anything I posted. Please can you provide the title of the book |

victory36: I'm 21 and in 400l but with so many carry over courses and also in borderline probation Op calm down, am not in your shpe but i share a similar fate with you. Am a fuprite studying marine engineering i just graduated but have extension. Your fear is likely your cgpa and how much time you will spend extra to conclude your program. I will advice you dwell more on things you can control (read and pray but have in mind that grades are awarded based on the lecturer perception of who you are) Since you are learning a trade (am also learning electrical and solar system installation ) i understand its very difficult to work and learn in Nigeria tertiary institution this i have experienced. So mitigate your loss and develop your strength ( by the time am don with my extension i am planning on taking a professional exam in electrical engineering to switch field. If you graduate with a 3rd class you can take a pgd program to upgrade your status and do masters that's if you wish.... But dont let the CGPA haunt you (in school, its expected that everyone cannot pass personally am yet to understand the rationale behind this but well.....) But no matter what you do, do not drop out!!! *** Unrelated, i will be in your school hopefully by next month we have a job to execute at hall 6 side i will like us to meet up |

Obnoxious2001: I am a student and a hustler to start with. I am privileged to receive between 30k-20k allowance per month from my guardian.
My hustle does not have any fixed amount am being paid as it's a one man business but on an average of there are jobs I earn say 5k on good days with many benefits like my feeding taken care of, getting tips from satisfied clients and getting personal gig's (20k straight with all expenses taken care of).
I have been able to save 145.85usd = 103,261.8 @708/usd. Yes my savings are in USD. And I make use of risevest which equally allows me to earn interest on my savings while preventing devaluation of my sweat. . (i feel many people are not fully aware of how devaluation eat deep into our efforts)
As a family person, I would advise you first know how much you spend on your family affairs I suggest you use Money manager apk. Then you pay yourself 20% of every income.
What do I even know A humble reminder to all the workers. By the way am into solar system installation and maintenance. I understand curcuit design and implementation. I just finished uni (though i have extension ) i am open to jobs and any opportunities where I can learn. Marine engineering is my course of study.

earthrealm: Ok, its a 12v setup. Then look at your cabling size and distance. If its adequate to carry 40amps.
Am not a fan of felicity anything. Wire is 10mm² so the cable size was well considered. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 3:48pm On Apr 03, 2023 |
Dishtech: Check your installation. Also what is your battery system voltage. It's recommended that when using mppt charge controller, your solar panels input voltage should be at least twice battery voltage and above. So 36v VOC panels should be 2s2p It's performance is okay on 2s2p. Thanks for your input. I appreciate |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 3:46pm On Apr 03, 2023 |
earthrealm: How would you even do 4p and expect good performance performance?. Unless your inverter is 12v....., Which am fairly certain its not. Blame your poor config and not felicity. Even so, are your panels tier 1?. Would be hard to get 35amps from 4 x 250w @ System is a 12v system. With 2*220a tubular battery so I don't think 4p is out of place. From experiment, felicity charge controller are more effective when fed higher voltage cause tech fine out performed it on 4p configuration. This is my opinion anyway. I am probably not the only one that has noticed this |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 1:58pm On Apr 03, 2023 |
I think felicity charge controller are over hyped.
The performance is poor.
4* 250w panel (voc 36v) and I can not get up-to 35A -40A....
Am considering reconfiguring the panel to 2s2p as against 4p.....
Please share your thoughts. |

If only you had money, you could have filed/claimed damages and you go cash out.
If you enjoy the job, go back, but job hunt for better options. Most people will tell you to leave the job but your survival is paramount.
If you are returning, clearly let him know that you will not over work yourself then try to negotiate for higher salary.
Experience like this has its own exposure it brings and teaches you how to handle problem. |
