My full name is Oguguamakwa. My aunt (my mum's elder and sole sister) passed away and I was conceived shortly after, hence the name.
Ah, a backstory lol.

I believe Celestine Ukwu is from Ndokwa in Delta State and not Enugu; he said so in his song "Uso Ndu"; Victor Uwaifo is Ika (which is also in Delta); Morocco Maduka is from Awka; and Eddie Okwedy is from somewhere in Aniocha or Oshimili (Delta).

I know that there were also musicians from Imo, Rivers, Abia, and Enugu in this time period but what I believe is that (aside from Mike Ejeagha, the Oriental brothers, the Peacocks, and a few others), most of the prominent musicians were Anambra/Delta based.

Nowadays it obviously isn't so.

Dede1: I shall be all eyes when you list the highlife artists of (60s to 80s) which granted Anambra and Delta the title of “hotbeds" of music in Igboland.
Here are a few:

Ali Chukwuma (Delta)
Osita Osadebe (Anambra)
Eddie Okwedy (Delta)
Morroco Maduka (Anambra)
Paulson Kalu (Anambra)
Oliver De Coque (Anambra)
Victor Uwaifo (Delta)

iwe oru: http://www.africanbookscollective.com/

This is a pan-African website which provides information on books (of many genres) from authors of the African diaspora. There is an opportunity to purchase material as well.

Another website which contains links to various African language material including dictionaries, books, etc is:

http://library.columbia.edu/indiv/global/cuvl/african_studies/languages.html

I hope this helps.
This is nice.

CultureRe: The Great Calabar Misconception by odumchi(mod):
Akwa Ibom ethnic groups seem to be more aggressive than their counterparts in Cross River. In the olden days, the Annang (in Ikot Ekpene and Abak) were said to be dangerous because they supposedly killed and ate foreigners, whereas the Efik were generally more hospitable and accommodating. It's also represented in their cultures: the Efik enjoy the peaceful and graceful Ekpe, whereas their rougher Ibibio and Annang cousins craft fearful masks and dance to the thundering tune of the Ekpo. Man, I love the Cross River region...
CultureRe: Drop Your Suggestions For Improving The Culture Section by odumchi(mod): 6:29am On Dec 24, 2012
ROSSIKE: We need a separate HISTORY section.

I can't believe we have a huge site like this, yet no section specifically dedicated to HISTORY.
History and culture seem to fall in the same line.

I'd like you guys to please drop off some of your observations. How well are we moderating? What positive changes have we made since the past year? What do we do that you guys like/dislike?

Thanks in advance. ✌
