oyatz:Igbos will definitely take back Ubani and Opobo, if the inhabitants wish it. No doubt Ijaws had a free hand in intimidating Igbos of Rivers state with the help of Fulanis, at the end of th civil war and have made aggressive attempts at Ijawnizing some Igbo areas. But it will be in Ijaw people's interest to hands off Ubani, if Igbos come to claim it, because both Ubani and Opobo are among the very few outlets Igbos have to the open ocean. Resistance from Ijaw may result in Ijaws loosing core Ijaw territories, not previously contested and will expose long buried animosities like the abandoned properties issue and Boro's treachery. Ijaws already have hundreds of miles of coastline, and the few Igbos have, will not be ceded to anybody, otherwise Ijaws will loose large expanses of territories, just the same way Palestinians and other Arabs lost territories to Israel after the many confrontations they had with Israel. |
mu2sa2:... otherwise Trump would have called Nigeria, worse than shithole, because of the Fulanis ... |
Atiku:. I hope you know I'm your real father. Your mom will confirm this fact Yusuf: I'm aware of that. In fact my mom told me that my very tiny d!ck is an incontrovertible proof of that. I clearly inherited that from you |
oyatz:Ziik was a politician, not a traditional ruler or the official custodian of Onitsha culture. The Obi of Onitsha has made it clear several times that Onitsha people are core Igbos. His account should be more believable. |
Captain8:With the little hitch that Benin people don't understand what Ika or Agbo people are saying, but Igbos undersand them, with just our knowledge of Igbo. Anioma, means good land in Ika Anioma means good land in Agbor Anioma means good land in Oshimili Anioma means good land in Ndokwa Anioma means good land in Anambra Anioma means good land in Enugu Alaoma means good land in Abia Alaoma means good land in Imo Alaoma means good land in Igbo areas of Rivers state Elioma means good land in Ikwerre Anioma DOES NOT MEAN good land in Edo Anioma DOES NOT MEAN good land in Ijaw |
Captain8:You did not forget anything. Please stop lying and spreading falsehoods like a typical Ijaw man. M and A were added by Sir Osadebe to make sure the expression was a complete Igbo expression. The four Igbo provinces in the then Midwest were Agbor, Ndokwa, Ika and Oshimili. No more, no less. Stop forgetting. M and A don't exist |
Captain8:There are no last two words. Osadebe added the MA, to make it a complete Igbo expression, hence ANIOMA, otherwise it would have been ANIO, which makes no sense in Igbo. Trying to trick us by claiming that you've forgotten the last two. Iyasikwa |
cheruv:Sir Dennis Osadebe, who was instrumental in coining the word ANIOMA, expressly made sure the acronym had an Igbo meaning. Osadebe was the first premier of the Midwest region. The word ANIOMA, came from ANIOCHA (An Igbo expression) and the other Igbo-speaking provinces of the then Midwest region |
oyatz:Give us the name of the earliest written book on Onitsha that claimed Benin ancestry. Have you also ever heard of Igodomigodo, an ancient Nri-Igbo outpost, now presently occupied by modern Benin? You cannot talk about Benin without exploring their Igodomigodo past. NRI is at the core of everything, in that area. However the earliest Portuguese account of Benin clearly pointed out the cultural and spiritual overlordship of Nri-Igbo over Benin, and the fact that before any Benin oba was crowned, permission and the blessing of ancient Eze Nris must be secured first. Till today Benin still makes use of the Nri-Igbo market days, as a visible evidence of past links between the two civilisations. Also until about 55 years ago, Nri-Igbos crowned every Obi of Onitsha. So NRI has all these areas covered. No revisionism can alter it. Ancient Ubani people clearly stated they were Igbos. Ijaws in Ubani are just immigrant porters. That's all |
Captain8:Oyigbo is even an Ogoni term so how are they even related with you? Alagoa made attempts to claim Ndoki for the simple reason that he wished to claim Ubani for the Ijaw, but it fell flat. You people will have to navigate past the observation put down in the first book ever written about Ubani, in which the vast majority of the indigenes and the royal family made it clear that they were Igbos. |
Sunday2021:You're right,. MACBAN terrorists are crying that ESN is decimating their terrorists in eastern forests |
Sunday2021:As you write, ESN is still sending Buhari's Fulani terrorists to God for immediate judgement. After 2023, Fulanis will have a very hazy future. Now this gladdens my heart ![]() |
Backward rapture. Inverse rapture Rewind rapture |
Captain8:Is the name of the town Ubani or Ngasi? I am only interested in Ubani or Bonny. When an Ndoki man gives me an Ndoki sentence, I will have no problem in understanding him. You will not understand him. What does Wabara mean in your language? |
Captain8:Ndoki is just a dialect of Igbo. Everything an Ndoki man says in Ndoki dialect, every Igbo man understands. The Igbo Bible was first written in Ubani Igbo dialect, which borrows a lot from Ndoki dialect. This is because it was understood by every Igbo person. Adolphus Wabara who was a former senate President, is an Ndoki-Igbo man, who represented the SE. |
RobbStark:It doesn't really end here. The biggest political juggernaut in Opobo thinks he is Igbo. What this means is that elements of Opobo high and mighty in both the traditional and political leadership recognize their Igbo ancestry. Igbos of Opobo, Ubani and upland may vote for him and crown him the governor, one of these days. ![]() |
Captain8:Ubani means the richness of land. It can also be interpreted as large expanse of land. UBA ANI You may have heard of Ifeanyi Ubah. His surname basically means richness or wealth or large expanse. Obviously, the original Ndoki settlers saw large expanse of land and named it exactly that |
SaintBishop:There is also no Obigbo LGA in Rivers state, but Obigbo people know themselves. Unfortunately for you guys, Ndoki people are Igbos, so your machinations to claim Ubani will never succeed |
RobbStark:You guys wanted me to name an Opobo man that claims being Igbo, i just supplied you with the name of a well known politician from Opobo, now you want to change the goalpost. Then give us the name of the Opobo politician that is better known than Dakuku Peterside. Anyway now that I have supplied Dakuku Peterside's name, and now that Opobo people have not chased him out for committing an abomination by acknowledging his roots, your argument has no basis |
Captain8:To a 3 yr old, a 12 year old is a genius. Now learn from the master. I specifically wrote TOWN NAME. UBANI means something in Igbo, and means totally nothing in Ijaw. Read Dr. Baikie's book written in 1850 to learn how EBANI/IBANI came into the UBANI lexicon. Please upgrade your knowledge before you start challenging me, as you are no match to Ofoigbo. You haven't told us where the NI from UBANI or IBANI came from. I think I may have to teach you how and where town names are derived for much of ancient Africa. But let me see how parry this one, before I decide on what you need to learn |
RobbStark:First of all, the book was written by an English slave trader. He had no attachment to the Igbo race and the captain came from Liverpool. For your second point, we all know that Dakuku Peterside is by far, the most prominent Opobo politician. Just a few years ago, he had this to say in a gathering. In a shocking revelation, the member representing Opobo-Nkoro Federal constituency Hon. Dakuku Peterside declared that the Opobo people have their roots in Igboland as the founder and first king of the Kingdom is an Igbo man. Hence Opobos are Igbo. He called on other Igbo elements within the state to identify with the greater Igbo cause. https://www.nairaland.com/2691100/igbos-dakuku-peterside As you can see, he clearly identifies with his Igbo links. He may well be a governor of the state one of these days. Thank God the Jaja family still know what time it is. I hope I have lectured you this afternoon, and that you have learnt solid lessons from a master. |
RobbStark:The first book every written about UBANI clearly established the Igbo origins of Bonny. The book also noted the fact that Ijaw migrants from Brass were present in Bonny working as porters and other artisans. The Ijaw content of Bonny is not indigenous. Thanks to the first book every written about UBANI. All these facts are clearly stated there. |
Captain8:What does ubaNI or ibaNI mean in Ijaw. Don't just choose an alphabet. I need the meaning of the whole town name Initiation is an English word. INI means grave in Igbo language, but INITIATION doesn't really mean anything in Igbo language. Go to my profile and read the attachment in my picture section. That is the first book ever written about Bonny and its Igbo origins. The observations and collation of facts for the writing of the book commenced in 1790, but the book itself was written in 1830 |
Captain8:What does UBANI mean in Ijaw? Also how do you explain the fact that the earliest books written about UBANI Bonny, clearly noted that the traditional rulers of Bonny were of Igbo ancestry? |
amc:But it has the constitutional power to kill unarmed flag-waving demonstrators abi |
Captain8:Th SIA will be taking place when Kanu shows up in court again. Let us see how the fear of police will stop it. Igbos rule. Noone can cage IPOB except the Igbos themselves. Edwin Clarke can't. Buhari can't. Uzodinma can't |
Liebermantic:The rulers of Ubani were Igbos from Ndoki territory. The vast majority of Ubani were Igbos. The earliest book about Bonny noted these facts. Ijaws were just artisans who were mainly porters, and they arrived from Brass |
Captain8:IPOB doesn't respect Edwin Clarke also. Igbos have issued out an order which is being heeded by ipob |
Nonpartisan1:Did you see him even once at the Nigerian embassy? He was hiding around like a rat while in London. What a president. Scared of IPOB. ![]() |
Buhari ran to the UK to avoid the SIA. He may run away again when Kanu is to appear in court |
Captain8:Buhari was powerless in stopping the SIA. It was only the Igbos who could stop it and they did. IPOB only listens to fellow Biafrans. So if Buhari craves the love of the east, he will have to crawl and beg Igbo Biafrans to ask IPOB to love him. It is only Biafrans that can issue an order to IPOB and they listen ![]() |
lifeisgood12:FIrst of all, Khoisans are not West Africans. Secondly, I am unaware of any studies you carried out to claim that Khoisans are fairer than Igbos. Thirdly, such a study will also cover the likelihood of hazel eyes, as I know Igbos are more likely to develop hazel eyes than any West African group All the West African ethnic groups are well known. You can google it. Point out the one that shows greater light skin occurrences |
