Politics / Re: A 1988 NY Times Report On Nigeria's Quota System by oiseworld: 5:01pm On Jun 09, 2013
The quota system or federal character, either introduced by a southerner or a northerner is like a Yoruba proverb that says
" Eni ta pe ko WA jeun ton di ni lowo mu".

The person that we invited to come and eat and yet holds your hand, stopping you from eating.

It is all a fraud and the mega fraud making the servants to ride on horses and sons walk on bare foot.

Nigeria will never move forward with the quota system or federal character. I have said it times without number. It is the number one fraud used by the North against the south because they occupy a larger geographical mass, and will continue to be used until we wake up and move for change.

Politics / Re: Obasanjo Forced Lamido On Jigawa People by oiseworld: 11:26am On May 30, 2013
Selection and enforcement of candidates especially at the primaries is well encouraged in the north. Most Northerners are backward with a very sentimental way of reasoning. Their mentality is not more than that of a child. They make stupid decisions. So am with selecting a candidate for them.

They really need to be led. You know what I mean.

May God protect the JTF and give them the skills to tackle wicked forces in Nigeria. May they return complete to their families after every operation.

Religion / Re: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by oiseworld: 8:55am On May 27, 2013
frosbel: The Trinity is PAGAN.

God is ONE , Jesus said so himself :

"Jesus replied, "The most important commandment is this: 'Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD." - Mark 12:29

You just won't get it,
If you would only put aside the hate you have for the catholic church probably youll understand better.

azeezlateefah: if this preacher man is a muslim...all the Xtian would be here to insult islam as if muslims are perfect!!! reading through the comments I hardly found a muslim or pagans insults....so what yah All could say is (its a fake news) and defending lies...hypocrites.....shioorrrr....

Sharrap diaaa !!
Do you know how many atrocities Muslims commit on a daily bases? They are soo much that's its not worth discussing. The religion is not a target of the devil they are his own, that's why almost every thing is acceptable to them.

the devil's aim is to bring down the church, so any little thing he makes public trying to derail people from the truth and from God.
Nairaland / General / Re: Bus Preacher Beaten To Coma In Lagos After Condoms Fall From Bible by oiseworld: 7:31am On May 27, 2013
I wanted to ask what was wrong if condoms fell from the preacher, it could mean anything, but he went ahead to say he also preaches safe sex, that safe sex is good. If what he meant was fornication and adultery then, Let God be the Judge.

All a boko haram member needs as stimulant for violence is to hear mentors like Gumi, buhari, ibb, atiku and co condemn their act of terrorism.

Wasn't this the same Gumi that a certain repentant boko said trained and encourage them as terrorist in Libya.

Time will tell.
Phones / Re: Lumia 925 Windows Phone By Nokia by oiseworld: 7:52am On May 15, 2013
Frostyzone:

Apparently you have never seen an android phone before, not to talk of using one.

Daily automatic app updates is a common feature with android phones since it's inception. It's really not something to brag about.

Windows phones are great devices no doubt, but comparing it with ICS and JB OS that is the engine room of high-end Android devices is just sad.

The only real competition Android has now is iPhone and no other. Windows phones are collectively a distant third...or fourth.

Talking about seeing an Android phone every jack,Tom,di..ck and harry even in my village uses an Android phone. You are aware that techno has made dat possible. I can't compare the Android with an iPhone because they are too similar for my liking.

Soo we're left with a windows phone on one side and the andriod/iphone on the other. Windows is not too common i agree, but they are taking up the vast majority of the top smartphone market gradually. All phone makers are gradually shifting to the windows operating system.
Samsung has a windows phone.
HTC has a windows phone.
Nokia runs her Lumia series on windows op.

What else do you want? Soon blackberry,iPhone and others would join. Therby leaving the andriod market for techno.

I have no problem with Tecno phones. What I have issues with are people who litter every thread acting like Tecno phones are high-end phones.

What exactly has this thread got to do with Tecno?

Be bold to tell them their techno phone is not in the class of smart phones. If I where to compare phones I'll rate Symbian with the soo called Android. Thou, Android is cool tool. Techno only helps introduce low end users to the smartphone world. Let them remain at the surface.

fabby26: Am just in love with my lumia be it lumia 610,710,920 or 925. Lumia just gives me all I need in a smart phone. Especially the ease to assess its Microsoft office such as Power point, Excel, Adobe flash and reader. And other application and its battery strength is remarkable despite running numerous applications. Lumia is just the most innovative pocket-friendly smartphone in the market. Android phones can wait. Also like the way it displays live tiles and updates

Please tell them.
its obvious this guys have not seen a windows phone talkless of use one. Windows is the thing for me. The tiles, the daily app, game and music updates. A living phone.
the only disadvantage is they're strictly for the big boys.
Politics / Re: Reno Omokri Replies Guardian UK Piece On Jonathan's Performance by oiseworld: 7:04pm On May 08, 2013
qwest: We should juxtapose the 'achievements' of GEJ to that of the first tenure of OBJ and rightfully, that of IBB's. IBB encountered a period of low oil prices, decreasing revenue and austerity, yet the roads and bridges (like the third mainland), infrastructural estab lishment (completion of Abj) amongst other things. If GEJ and his cohorts keep holding tenaciously to the completion of the Lagos-Kano rail, awarded and conceived by OBJ's regime; or the executive passage of an award for the establishment of universities not even fully started, private renal treatment centre, among other things as an achievement, we really must question such. Given that with the low resources IBB had to work and his achievements, Nigerians have branded his a failed government; one has to wonder at what to brand GEJ's with the abundance of revenue at his disposal?

be careful where u shop. If u are naija base, watch out for china made inferior products. They they're all over the market mixed with originals and hideing in our boutiques.

so try the big malls for ur shopings until u can differentiate china from America,Vietnam,Taiwan,or UK products. Dubai clothing's are mixed.

Why don't you tell us the "performance" you have seen? Also can you tell us the major problems of Nigeria, as you perceive it, and let us see if the "performance" you mention is genuinely addressing those problems and not just deceitful 'shadow boxing' from leaders now very skilled at bamboozling a mediocrity-worshipping people via going through the motions while their expensively maintained propagandist deliver lies most Nigerians are unable to see through.

Care to tell us what any President has done to reduce bloated governance that has made recurrent spending over 70% when it is in single digit in many developed Nations?

Institutional corruption?

Optimal refining of oil to meet domestic demand and even facilitate income generation from the sale of finished derivatives of crude?

Aggressive diversification of the economy away from over-reliance on oil?

A simplified and holistic process to enable States commercially mine and market mineral endowment?

Effective and thorough reform of NPF, in the face of the FG ruling out State police, to deliver a modern, effective and truly competent police force capable of fighting crime and keep Nigerian lives and property safe?

Thorough, genuine and fundamental reform of the NNPC and our Petroleum sector to position them as tools for developing Nigeria?

Dedicated and deliberate effort to promote the growth of the SME (small to medium enterprise) which is the lifeblood of the economy of most developed nations?

Look, I could go on all day but I would like you to also deliver your own facts and the perceived "performance" you talk of and we can take it from there.

There's nothing you've mention above that this government hasnt tackled or made effort towards finding solutions to. Its you who has refused to see this things. Probably because of your hate which is quite obvious.

Thisgovernment is quite commendable but the tools (Nigerians) are too corrupt, tribalistic and self centered. When the private sector tries to make something tangible, they meet the same corrupt Nigerians. Open your eyes and stop the hate.

A-ZeD:
Gej sins are too much to mention but i'll write a few
1) Lies:
Subsidy according to GEJ and his cohorts was supposed to be removed on April 1st, we all know what happened.
The health saga of his wife.

2) Cluelessness
Who makes statements like boko haram are in my government, terrorist are everywhere and the 6 millions foolish statements that GEJ has made on boko haram?

Other notable mention:Leadership by example
We all know the civil service is over bloated and the Steve Oransonye(sp) committee said as much yet GEJ who should fix this refuses to lead by example. His wife is a permanent secretary in his own state(part of the countries in effective civil service.) A good leader would have told his wife to resign because she is not setting a good example(she has been on leave of absence since 1999).

If we are to be sincere with ourselves, Nigerians no longer have a right to complain about fuel subsidy. when the president suddenly Removed fuel subsidy to favour Nigerians against marketers, you all marched to the street complaining and demonstrating. Now your eyes are opened but u still would not admit you're wrong. Nigerians should take it with pride whenever you hear any amount spent over subsidy.

Secondly, I have noticed that Gej is not as vocal as he used to. Take it or leave it;he was more since then.
Nigerians took his early statement for dumbness' because he said book haram are in his govt. You all start shouting why don't you fish them out and persecute them like he just had to hand pick them for firing squard. But the wise amongst us understood the heart of the president and the meaning in his words. He was trying to rally support but we took the issue to another extrem.
He spoke also about mend not being responsible for Oct 1st bomb blast. The wise as usual understood and stood behind the president yet, over 95% joined the oppositions/sponsors of bh to accuse him of being behind the bombings.

Is Nigeria this void of understanding. Now the man is more quiet, and has left us guessing and accusing.
this topic has entered its fifth page and yet no one has addressed the topic with valid points and evidences.
