youngstrow:This is obviously coming from a shallow mind cos I don’t understand where this hate talk is coming from. In your shallow world, anyone that does not support you is because they hate you? Please, widen you horizon. |
Creeknigga:I don’t think am out of line for using goals to judge cos that’s exactly what his fans have been using whenever he’s compared to other greats. Don’t forget Salah is also winger too. No worry, Obi is also my choice for 2023. |
Kingcalls:I no dey mince words when I say you are full of double standards but am not surprised you would use this cheap and sentimental points to protect your favourite. As e don reach Ronaldo, he learnt his trade in England but when you dey compare Messi and Ronaldo la liga records, you dey talk as if Messi na established player from his first day in La liga. It’s a shame you of all people didn’t know Van Nistelrooy won Champions League top scorer in 2001/2002 & 2002/2003. |
Mryacks:Henry na EPL Goat! |
Chno:Balon D’or is never going to make his almajiri fans agree but truth is, he was no different from Drogba in EPL. Aguero & Salah should be ahead in any premier league team. Salah Appearances 196 Goals 122 Assists 47 Aguero Appearances 275 Goals 184 Assists 47

Congratulations to Mbappe Brilliant assist from the greatest ever…… his vision and pass accuracy is second to none Yesterday’s combo between Mbappe, Neymar & Messi was seamless Enemies dey pray make they fight This na the Neymar wey dey break bank for Neymar is on fire |
Jokerman:always pessimistic |
Kingcalls:You didn’t consider Messi’s age and the fact that he was struggling with injuries. You just want people to think he broke into the first team at 24 or 25. Winning Uefa vest player has nothing to do with goals ...ask modric zidane cannavaro iniestaHe was not just UEFA player of the Year. He was also UEFA Top Scorer. Despite playing operating right wing, did Eto who happen to be their center forward outscore him that season?? And as usual with messi people, they will always tarnish others to uplift the short manShow me where I tarnished Ibra’s image. Now Ibrahimovic has been added to the list that he was missing chances one of the greatest forwards of all time was missing chancesHe did come from the bench half of the times. In the first half of the season, he performed well.
|
Kingcalls:Messi was 20 in a team full of stars. Stop making look like Messi was already 24 or 25 doing less numbers……. He was even struggling to overcome his injury scare at the time. Under Pep, it was only a matter of time before Messi replaces Eto as their goal getter cos Dinho, Deco & Eto made life difficult for Rijkaad in his final days as Barcelona coach and that was why Pep got rid of Dinho & Deco. Eto stayed one more season because Henry had an average season and he couldn’t count on Messi at the time cos the guy was young, entering the peak of his career, injury was a major concern too. Having Eto as their goal getter did not stop Messi from becoming La liga & UEFA Player of the Year. He outperformed everybody including Henry & Eto. Ibrahimovic lost form at a point. He was losing too many chances. I remember a particular game, Messi handed a die minute penalty to Zlatan so his name can also be on the score board. The problem between Ibrahimovic and Pep is much deeper than Messi demanding for a central role. Ibrahimovic also complained that Pep was not talking to him….. he would greet every one and snub him. Pep is a silent dictator. Ibrahimovic is domineering and Pep didn’t like that. Xavi, Iniesta & even Messi were loyal….. they were always ready to do what the coach wants. Ibrahimovic even complained they were not allowed to drive their cars to training but him no send anybody. |
kenzysmith:Wetin u dey talk sef? Oga, Ronaldo dey find champions league football. No be Newcastle be him problem. |
LZAA:Read why Ibrahimovic and Pep fell out. https://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2012/03/28/2992384/grudge-match-the-full-story-on-why-ibrahimovic-and-guardiola Messi had nothing to do with their problem or why Ibrahimovic was sold. And do not forget, Messi surrendered his role as a false 9 just to accommodate Suarez in the MSN set up. Xavi may have played a key role but Enrique had no choice but to play Messi cos he almost got sack for losing/drawing games he ordinarily should have won with Messi. See the screenshot below
|
kenzysmith:Person wan play UCL you dey call Newcastle wey no go even qualify for UEL. |
Angelfrost:and that was exactly what wrecked Barcelona. |
Angelfrost:Arsene Wenger faced wide range criticism for being an advocate of financial fair play. |
atheistandproud:Nothing concern Messi for Neymar and Mbappe matter. Na people dey drag am out. Or you no dey aware or maybe forget Wetin Neymar do Cavani when he newly joined PSG? Messi is wise and would not get involved in their squabble. If you notice His body language since he joined PSG, you would know he’s been trying not to make Mbappe feel threatened and uncomfortable by his presence. He doesn’t really fight for penalties cos of Mbappe & Neymar. He won a penalty to complete his hat trick in a UCL game last season, he left it for Mbappe so they can both be on the scoresheet. Mbappe too knows Neymar is their penalty taker. |
atheistandproud:You can’t bench the best player on your team without a good replacement or Atleast dey win games but Enrique’s team suffered several losses and draws to teams they should have beaten just because he wanted to punish Messi. Na Wetin sack scolari for Chelsea be that cos he bench Drogba and Anelka no dey deliver
|
atheistandproud:Same Luiz Enrique that almost got sacked for benching Messi and losing matches?? Incase you no know, it was Messi, Neymar and Suarez that agreed to that switch cos Enrique was already playing Suarez from right wing. Drop sentiment naa Read this
|
atheistandproud:neither does he know or care about you. You may not like him but don’t be bias. It’s not cos Ibrahimovic never confirmed it and has never spoken ill of Messi like he’s done to Guardiola |
atheistandproud:In Euro 2012, Fabregas played false 9 for Spain in key games even though they had Torres and Informed Pedro on the bench…. Was Guardiola their coach too? Ibra was doing well and scoring. His only problem was that he had no intention:and Messi wasn’t scoring? Do you realize Messi outscored Eto and Henry from right wing before Ibrahimovic even thought of joining Barcelona? 1. Behaving like a school boy (his own words)2. Driving the club designated vehicleAfter demanding for central role, the same Messi surrendered his preferred center role to accommodate Suarez in the MSN set up. Bros think am na |
LZAA:proof it with fact not mere speculation. And was he tired of playing in the middle when he shifted to the right wing to accommodate Suarez under Luiz Enrique?? |
obedience4:It’s easy to know sentiment has clouded his sense of reasoning from his comment. |
atheistandproud:so it was because of Messi, Henry was shifted to left wing?? Henry that was operating from left and Eto in the middle before Pep was even promoted to first team. Please, when did you start watching ball? The only way to accommodate Henry & Eto in the team without further problem was to play Henry from the left. Painting Messi black because you want to prove a point does not make sense……Zlatan’s issue with Guardiola had absolutely nothing to do with Messi. Ego is the reason Zlatan and Guardiola couldn’t work together. If Messi was the cause of their problem, why did Zlatan spare Messi when he criticized Guardiola in his book? |
TheGiftedOne:Thanks bro. Most nairalanders are more emotional than logical. If Neymar took his career serious, there is no way he would not be considered a GOAT at the end of his career but like you said, he was busy fooling around. He should never have left Barcelona in the first place. Hazard is no match for Neymar. 15/16 when I was serving in Jos, a colleague almost slapped me cos I said, Neymar is much better than Hazard in terms of talent and abilities. |
BurialGround:exactly |
ArchiLimited:Madrid will never pay him the kind of money Man United placed on the table. Na him last chance be this after all, him don achieve everything and he knows Balon D’or is out of reach. |
Good signing if the deal goes through but 60million is too much considering his age. Perez is a transfer guru…… he doesn’t buy cheap neither does he sell cheap. |
In their prime, Messi starts, Neymar on the bench…..sadly, I would have to sell Mbappe. To Ronaldo fandogs attacking and insulting me, If you guys had any atom of smartness, it’s not hard to read between the lines in the above comment cos neither Neymar or Mbappe can match a 100% fit, younger and hungry Messi. Mbappe cannot even lace the boot of a serious, focused and committed Neymar. |
Know the difference! One is recognized by serving and retired players and coaches, pundits, media and football fans for talents and all round football abilities(goals, assists, dribbles, creativity, free kick and so on) while the self acclaimed goat is recognized by his PR and fans for his scoring abilities.

tarantino1:I am a Messi fan too but I think people are blowing this out of proportion. They are gradually making it look like there’s a plot to undermine Mbappe’s contribution to the club. Like you said, Mbappe needs to watch it. He is the future of the club and in no distant time, Messi and maybe Neymar go move elsewhere. |
tarantino1:Oga no drag Messi into this…… Nothing concern am. Mbappe knows Neymar is their penalty taker. |
You burn Jersey wey you use your money buy…… if you no want am, simply give those wey go appreciate am. |
ceeceeco:Just so you know, Man united have been the biggest beneficiary of bad officiating in the premier league. Don't worry, the day Manchester United will eventually bounce back, many of you will definitely commit suicide, & I pray you'll be one of them. Time shall tell...We are watching!Did you just say you pray i will be one of them? You sound so pained and childish. Well, you can cry more cos i don't care if your team bounces back or disappears from the surface of the earth. |
