That's very strange sir.
At least you know it played around 136 for a very long time?

I think that was in March. I think it did so again around August.

You are doing well, can't remember when Dangote Cement went to N117 . Currently around N200, you should have held on so as to enable steady dividends and capital appreciation for the next 3 to 4 years.

Dividend paying stock is the key thing, dividend yield of 10% at dividend payout of maximum of 60%, average earning growth of a minimum of 12% in the last 3 years

Who dash professor 2.5m per month? You want to kill fg? Try that nonsense and all lecturers go become professors overnight?

Too small?

I would say it's not o.

2.5m per month.

only area manager in banks, managers in big telcos (just 3 or 4 depending on who you count), and experienced level IOC staff.

some managers at NB, Nestle and CChellenic, and co make less.
Bank branch managers too.
professors and most doctors too.

Maybe just 5% of the c. 10m pension contributors.

Most other continents and countries are going on another lockdown, God has so blessed Africa that the Covid-19 pandemic was not as devastating as it was in the rest of the world yet somehow we are unable to take advantage of the situation.

As long as people continue to believe that money can be multiplied when they hand it over to some people then these scams will continue.
If you are not ready to do business but want passive income then you have to learn to be very patient with the little returns you get from many passive forms of incomes.

We live in a crazy world, where your own blood brother can stand before the entire family and suggest that
All the retirement benefits of your parents should be put in a company he works for
And clearly knows that it's a Ponzi company!

If one kills such brother after the Ponzi fails, hope no one would put that person in jail or under any condemnation, right?

41M (~$100k) monthly. This even dwarfs the 17M of before.
They must really be providing lots of value to their company to earn that much.

Now that I think better of it, earning USD75k monthly even in the US is also even not a common occurrence. I dare say it is very rare and only happens among the top management echelons in certain sectors of the society.
Lazyyouth4u:
Dangote does not pay anyone USD 75k in salary per month. You can take that to the bank any day sir.

How can I reference 4m as too huge bros, I was referencing 17m monthly, except that was not what Ahib wrote or meant.
30m PA is 2.5M monthly. This I can easily believe, but for these companies to pay 1 human 17M per month, de a little hard for me to believe. Not saying it is not true just that I find it hard to believe.

awesomeJ:
No now.

The 30m figure is per annum.

I assumed we were talking in terms of annual pay.

Lazyouth don vex!

I didn't mean per month now.

I was referencing where ojesysym said 4m per month was huge.

Converting that into USD using 400 naira as exchange rate puts it at $75,000 per month. Any how you look am the money big.
Can't we list Nigeria in the stock exchange, perhaps that may help it be run better? Just saying.
awesomeJ:
Once you're at GM level in most large firms these days 30m isn't uncommon

Even with devaluation these firms have revenues in billions of dollars:

MTN NG Should be around 1.3trn (about $3.3bn)

Dangote Cement like 950bn ($2.4bn)

Flour Mills around 600bn ($1.53bn)

Zenith Bank around 650bn ($1.66bn)

Guaranty like 500bn ($1.27bn)

Ecobank UBA, FIRST BANK, Airtel and Nigerian Breweries, should be around $1bn to $1.2bn each

One driver once told me that, whoever wants to steal will steal even if na ordinary broom. Our mentality among the learned in this country is that of stealing. You will find more honest contented people in villages and small towns.

I also observed that teachers in government owned schools are a little more honest than the average Nigerian, probably because they tend to start believing the morals they try to teach the kids in their ward and some level of job security.
NL1960:
N4m per month and other allowances and yet he still steals. What does he spend N4m per month on that he is not satisfied and has to still steal?. I normally tag people like this as suffering from 'poverty mentality'.

Why are Nigerians wicked to Nigerians? FG heavily subsidised prepaid meters, so that Discos can distribute it free of charge to Nigerians, but here in my region, some disco officials are already making huge sum selling meters. Some of these staffs are still saying they don't have enough prepaid meters, even though they have more than enough meter to distribute freely to many homes in Nigeria.

Why are we so wicked to ourselves and still hope and pray for a better Nigeria?

always resist the urge to shalaye. When people try to trip you on this forum, what you do not know is that you are being led to inadvertently give out personal details about yourself. The result of all that will probably not be felt until a few years. I know you know in your hearts of hearts that with the level of insecurity in the country, this is not a wise thing to do.
Just resist the urge I suggest

Many of our brothers in diaspora have also tried this model but some folks back home see it as their own piece of the national cake and mostly mismanage the business. Even then, Indians are not particularly known to be honest so how do they achieve all these?

What happens after paying, will they go back to run the business?
NL1960:
Once they relocate to another country and they start receiving salary, they take a loan from a bank in India and open a business back in India. Every month end, once paid, they transfer some of the money to repay the loan while the business is getting its feet. Over time, the loan is repaid.

Is it right for an ex CBN governor, one time regulator to come and head a bank that he at one time was regulating? Is there no conflict of interest somewhere in all of these idea?

Aig is equally busy as the chairman of Coronation Merchant Bank, Coronation Insurance and the companies in the Coronation group. He is still getting a decent dividend from Access bank that is roughly N700 million per annum.

Oga Jim is already 65 years, his dividend from the bank is about N10 billion per annum, excluding income from other unlisted Investments and real estates. He can always run things from the background and also have a representative on the board, very possible that Emefiele may come to become the chairman of Zenith after he retires from CBN and Jim completes his tenure

Hmmmm. Okay. Maybe Ema can help me out here. I think there a few examples to buttress the point I am making. Oando is an example, I have had reference also made to uac mgt.
I am talking about those CEOs who allocate large enumeration to themselves even when they know the business is struggling.

Lazyyouth4u:
I am not mixing it up sir. CEOs are given lots of shares as part of their compensation. They can only cash out when the company’s stock reaches an agreed strike price. When you look at annual reports and see shares owned by CEOs, they didn’t buy those shares. They are stock options.

This is one reason why a government run organization will remain unproductive because of governments inability to reduce workforce when the business case no longer supports their employment.

Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ojesymsym: 5:06pm On Nov 28, 2020
I think you are mixing a CEO up with majority shareholders or chairman.
I was talking about the management team of many organizations. Although I know where you are coming from since the example I initially quoted is slightly different from what I am describing.
Lazyyouth4u:
These CEOs have a huge chunk of their compensation in stocks (mainly stock options) that they can only cash out when the share price increases to a set price. Why will they not want to reduce wastage and create value to be able to sell those shares and make money?

When Wigwe wanted to cut costs by reducing the size of the workforce at Access, Nigerians made a lot of noise about it. Human beings can be complicated.
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ojesymsym: 4:23pm On Nov 28, 2020
Most Nigerian CEOs are just high budget typical Nigerians. Their major interest is always to take as much as they can from a business and not really how to add value.

shalomblue:
One thing we can't take away from FBNH is the fact that they have been in business for over 100 years. I respect them for that and I doubt if other banks will be able to survive next 100 years because the plan of an average bank Ceo in Nigeria is to take over the bank by any means.
They intentionally do not cut waste since they are not major shareholders. Only the GMD has sizeable units
