The Nigerian Police will never stop entertaining me with their comedy. Well I wasn't referring to the Police anyways. The first point of call is to write a petition to the State agency responsible for keeping down noise pollution. The battle may be long and it may require the community standing up against this church but in the end it is worth the battle. I have gone to the police and after all said and done, they said we should go and settle. The stand of Nigerian police s tat there is no law stopping any one from worshipping in hs own way. The DPO advised me to go and buy my own sound systems and match their own.
Brethren, this sort of irresponsibility I could not engage in because it's against the catholic culture.

Good morning brethren. I have an issue at hand and need your advise. There is this new chuch just beside my house. They even used part of my fence s their alter. The noise is simply unbearable as me and my children most times have to move to the sitting room to sleep during their vigils. They have very heavy sound systems.

We have implored various means of resolution, since the owner a lady is my Neighbour. They even fought me at a point. I thereafter implored the assistance of a pentecostal pastor to intervene. He has tried to convince this woman to reduce the noise.
The problem is that. Ever since that guy stepped into my house and noticed we are a little above average, he keeps coming back, to my office, calling me on phone etc. my Husband always advises me to beware of these charlatans.

Right now, He came to my office to tell me he has evangelization at Zaria and I should finance his trip. I told him the organizers ought to have paid for his trip. This guy is not relenting. Calling and calling and calling. What do I do?

The wise African woman knows that it's a man's world down here. This woman should thread with caution. If the husband is this aggressive because of her joining that new church, it could be that he has seen something she is not seeing. That Pastor will wreck her marriage. I will advise she joins the catholic charismatic if it's vibrant worship she desires. Dear ops, do not listen to the likes of Kambo who is advising your own mother to carry assault weapons against her own husband. I bet you that the kind of advise she will get from the new pastor and members.

Please let her back down. If that marriage breaks due to her own foolishness, she will only have herself to blame.

Roman Catholicism preaches a Jesus that was unable to purge all sin or pay the complete penalty for sin.

Thanks ops for bringing this up. Firstly, the Sunday generall offertory does not belong to the priest. 70% or thereabouts goes to the diosces depending on each diosces. The balance goes to the church account. The priest spends these funds with the approval of the parish pastoral council. At least you know what PPC means.
The week day mass collections goes to the priest. Majorly, second collections, effort Sundays, and harvest and thanks giving days are when the parish actually builds up funds for itself. Tithing, started in my parish last year. I was meant to understand that some Catholics were being approached by these pastors to pay monthly tithe to their Pentecostal churches. These parishionsers are the ones that opted to pay their tithe in the church, rather than give to a business pastor. Hence it is purely not compulsory in my parish.

The catholic doctrines maintains that we give heartily, but also from our heart and without compulsion. There is no thunder and brimstone attached to your not giving the tithe. But truth remains that most people even give more than 10% monthly by the time you give all the offerings required. And God will continue to bless the cheerful giver. Hope this helps.

We are all under one Body, Christ, that's what makes us Christians. so we shouldn't let our brothers go astray in the name of religion, it's our duty as Christians to speak forth when we see things that aren't aligned with the scriptures. that's what we are doing. Paul challenged Peter when he faulted. Forget the denomination, we are all Christians so we owe each other a duty of care.

There are ways by which your priest collects their own seeds too,it is just in a coded way,i am not suporting the excessive lifestyles of pentecoatal pastors but you need to see the lifestyles of catholics priest and rev fathers too,you need to see how they live their life while the people suffer,i don't want to mention names here.
Do you know that Madonna university is owned by a priest? Do u know he has another uni apart from madoona and two polytechnics? Do u know he has a transport company too? Do u know he has a fruit juice company too and he banned the drinking of other fruit drink even coke in madonna except his own?

Excessive lifestyl is not restricted to pentecostal alone,even catholics is even worse IMO.
I am not here to judge or condemn,but there is a need for revisiting and rethinking,studying and asking God for proper guidance. Any lifestyle or doctrine that is not scripture baseed shld be done away with totally.

It will also benefit you to learn that the church scrutinizes the finances of Madonna university and it's activity. At least Fr Ede is answereable to some one. The pope has the powers to remove him as a priest if he is found wanting in any area. Recall what happened to the extravagant bishop in Germany last month.
Also every collection in the church, you will be told what it is used for and it's optional. No curses are heaped on you for failing to 'sow'. Can you say these same things of Covenant University or your own church.

That's the more reason why you and Vicky o and the other poster should "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and every other thing shall be added u to you". That the words of the Lord Himself. No amount of condemning other denominations, and struggling to remove the log in another person's eye will lead you to heaven. Seek his kingdom, seek to win more souls for him in a loving manner and be righteous. Our entire goal as individuals should be to make heaven. If you think Pastor worship or your own church is best, nada. You will still burn there with those popes you mentioned and your pastor prenuers.

I disagree with you. The church just beside my bedroom is pastored by a woman. What you hear there everyday is gossip.
