Taribizy:On the contrary, Buhari is the one creating problems for himself and the nation using the DSS as a willing tool. The president is a known human right violator and highly discriminatory personality. How far he can eat his cake and still have it under a democratic rule is yet to be comprehended. Let's wait and see. |
OrlandoOwoh:Wrong. Nigeria's fuel price is determined to a large extent by international crude price simply because of our inability to refine locally. Don't forget that we have to export our crude for refined imported products. We would not be able to control our local price until all the refiners are made to work at optimal capacity. By then. we'll be able to adequately determine all the cost of production, distribution and marketing. That's it. |
OrlandoOwoh:The increment was in consonance with the prevailing global price at that time. There is no basis or justification for this N2 paltry reduction by Buhari. |
Liftkid:What? |
dustydee:Gosh! This guy wants to force an Arabic laughter! Tell Buhari to use his political and body language sagacity to reduce it to N40 now. Bros just leave us alone. |
suxkill:Chief how's market now? I intentionally ignored your question since yesterday. Is the news still fake? |
joseph1832:That's true. I am not a good listener when you and your APC conmen are talking. |
History will always repeat itself most especially in climes where strict adherence to the rule of law remains a mirage. In the case of our dear nation, not only are we confronted with dearth of institutionalised frameworks for ensuring compliance with laid down regulations, instances of flagrant abuse of authorities by both the leaders and the led constitute a major bane to peace, internal coercion, growth and development. From the military down to civil rules, hardly has any administration passed without incidents of intra-security agencies clashes on one hand, and hostilities between security apparatus and civil populace on the other. During the regime of Obasanjo alone, the nation experienced more than two incidents of conflicts between soldiers and police resulting in loss of lives and properties. The case of Fela Anikulapo family house invasion which resulted in the death of the AfroBeat's mother in the 80s is still fresh in our nation's memory. Commissions of Enquiry were set up but up till this moment, not a single culprit had been brought to book neither was any white paper issued on findings from the enquiries. Not only has this emboldened our law enforcement agencies to embark on official rascality, it has further diminished inter cordial relationship amongst security agencies and civilian-security agencies interface. Against this backdrop, not many were taken aback when the news of the clash between the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff and the dreaded Shiite Movement broke penultimate week. That incident would have been substantially prevented if the past ones had been dispatched with stiff and rapt attention and culprits brought to book. On the part of Elzakzzaky's Shiite Sect, it has become a case of too many disobedience to military and police authorities. The sect leader was reported to have been incarcerated at various times by previous administrations on account of civil disobedience and breaches of public peace. During the immediate past adminstration, the sect's misdemeanor resulted in the death of three sons of its leader. Unfortunately, that case was waived off as if nothing happened. There was no single prosecution or reprimand of the major actors involved in the fracas. So, when the latest Buratai-Shiite confrontation hit the airwaves, it was a chorus of déjà vu. However, if this latest anomaly is allowed to go unresolved, the nation would have prepared itself for a Banana Republic status. From the above preambles, we need as a matter of priorities to seek explanations on the following: 1. BURATAI'S OWN STORY OF BEEN AMBUSHED FOR ASSASSINATION. While the story might have some iota of truth, the Army Chief should be crossed examined on the following: a. Did he send an advance party of security surveillance to Zaria road in order to determine his safe passage? b. Was that how he would have run into a Boko Haram ambush as result of improper intelligence gathering? c. Can we infer that Buratai's convoy's display of naivety and Intelligence pulsity were the major reasons our military has not been able to clip the wings of insurgents over the years? 2. INVASION OF ELZAKZAAKY'S SHRINE AFTER THE HIGHWAY CONFRONTATION. Reports have it that reinforcements were made by military authorities for the arrest of the Shiite's leader after the road hostility, an act that resulted in wanton killings and destruction of properties. We further seek explanations on the following: a. Constitutionally, the function of quelling internal aggression and hostilities lies exclusively in the hands of the police. Who authorised the invasion of Elzakzaaky's abode and Shrine by soldiers? b. Only the President and the National Assembly can sanction the deploring of soldiers on internal and internationally assignments. In this index incident, did the President and Commander In Chief give directive for the arrest of the Shiite's leader? 3. THEORIES OF CONSPIRACY AND PRE-MEDITATED KILLING. a. From the accounts of both the Army Authorities and the Shiite Movement, no life was lost during the road block /exchange of words, on what basis was the military authority provoked into further onslaught on the sect's base and what prompted such action? b. What was the degree of provocation and resistance that prompted the soldiers to open fire on a civil albeit restive civilian/religious congregation resulting in the death of scores of people? While the act of civilians or religious organisations using their constitutional freedoms to impede the rights of fellow citizens is repressible and condemnable in totality, adherence to rules of engagements and nation's rule of law on the part of out law enforcement agencies is a norm that must be enshrined in our value system. The president and the National Assembly must as a matter of priority unravel the reason for this latest Army-Civilian confrontation with the aim of bringing all culprits to justice. |

TonyeBarcanista:They are sanely deceitful. Very professional in pranks. |
gennykdb:Please, please and please! Save us these endless rhetorics. Which international image is Buhari restoring? The one that resulted in over 500 Nigerians been deported from Cameroon and Britain? And which corruption is Buhari fighting? The one that encouraged or bred a whopping N8billion REMITA/TSA fraud? Is it the one that spared Ameachi and Fashola from EFCC but focused on opposition elements? Your messiah promised to diversify the economy but made himself Minister of Petroleum. Why can't he directly oversee Agric or Solid Mineral Ministries instead of focusing on Black gold? For your information, the revamp of Kaduna and other refineries was kick started by Jona govt , don't attribute it to any body language. I refuse to be hoaxed by this deceitful govt. OK? |
Jarus:Yes Jona met it at N65 when the global price was fairly stable but he had to effect a reduction when the price slid substantially, hence the reduction from N97 to N87. Now that the price is dangling between $38 and $40, how justifiable is this meagre N2 reduction? |
Aseco:Transition between Yaadua and Jonathan is now history. We're talking of today when Crude Oil is sold at $32 per barrel. APC promised a drastic reduction in price if voted into power but they have failed so far. Stop defending deceits. |
suxkill:If the news was against Jonathan it would have been taken as Super-genuine. Oh my country! |
suxkill:Bros don't fall my hand now. Read through before asking for source. Xmas frenzy at play? |
mars123:Which one of them is good? You wan tell me say N2 reduction na big thing? Bros, go back to sleep. |
Agimor:Jona reduced the PMS price from N97 to N87 but Lai Mohammed and APC cried blue murder. Today, while in govt, all APC-led administration could do was a N2 reduction! What a scam! |

Segadem:Yeah Best Regards |
This is wishing all Nairalanders and entire citizenry Merry Xmas. May the Joy which the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ ushered into the world abide with us now and forever. Pls have it mind that at the end of every tunnel, there would be light. ONCE AGAIN, MERRY XMAS. |
bigerboy200:Merry Xmas and Happy New Year in Advance. |
dustydee:And this group was simply telling Nigerians to hold Lai Mohammed responsible if Boko haram stages a LARGE attack as a result of his unguided utterances. Do you always read a book on its front cover only? |
jonnieoneng:How many times did Osama Bin Ladin appear in videos before he was killed 10 years after 9/11? Wakeup friend and stop reasoning like a kid. Videos are just propaganda tools by terrorists and not one of their major weapons. Did Boko haram release videos before their latest attacks in Chad and Cameroon? Haba! |
bigerboy200:May God punish you too for been irredeemably blind to the truth by believing a lying government that has grounded the nation to a halt in the last seven months. For your information, if Boko haram is truly defeated in 7 months, it means APC and their northern financiers have a hand in it. How long do you want your life and destiny to be played with by these unrepentant propaganda merchants? |
The Choice we make in tackling civilian-security agencies unrests goes a long way in determining how peaceful and unified the nation can be. |

simpleseyi:One of the fallouts of PDP's "16-wasted years" is the opening of GSM and internet landscapes. I doubt if you would have been able to afford 3310 phone talk less of using the internet to spew bunkum if we were still in pre-1999 era. Seven months is enough for a serious minded govt to make appreciable impact in the lives of its citizenry. OK? |
MzPecs:Not really. They voted at Lai-point, Fash-point, Sai-point. In fact they all voted for lie-point. How Lagosians allowed themselves to be scammed for 16 years is a mystery. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:You should have just ignored that dude. They know the truth but always choose lies. Sentiment is arguably one of the banes of Nigerian societies. |
mrmetoo1:It simply means APC is a party of conmen. They deserve a drastic change more than Nigeria do. |
