doctokwus:Who's more clueless, corrupt wicked and mischievous than a president who masterminded secrete doctoring and disappearance of national budget from the Senate, first in the history of Nigeria? Pls tell me. |
omenka:Sometimes I wonder the kind of blood that runs in your veins because you guys are just so primitive and sentimental in your reasonings. Did you bother to ask questions how much APC leadership paid to hack into INEC installations with the intention to produce cloned cards? I know you'll be swift to rubbish this as a hoax. Ask Oshiomole what transpired in the last APC primaries in Bayelsa where he accused Sylva of CLONING PVCs for mere intraparty election. All of you are too blind to only associate Jonathan and his govt with anything evil forgetting that Buhari and APC represent greater evil. All this blackmails and demonisation of Jonathan will not help APC and its jingoists. The victory of the wicked is just temporary. |
DahomeyAmazon:Points like this don't make meaning to crooked minds. |
sen8or:APC and its people of course! Who else tells lies? |
A president who masterminded an attempted clandestine (unofficial) removal of 2016 Budget from the Senate but had to lie when the bubble busted wants to arrest our own Jonathan? A president who lied about his Certificate wants to tell us he's Mr. Integrity? A president who lied about his asset and financial status during election campaigns is planning to disgrace his predecessor, someone that gave him enabling ground to ascend to the presidency? A president whose campaign and electoral "victory" was allegedly bankrolled through APC State Govts security votes and questionable sources has the gut to talk about fund diversion? This is Africa where demons sometimes conduct deliverance for witches. No problem, let Buhari arrest Jonathan and clap for himself for a job well done. I say once again, no problem. We dey watch. |
Let this not be seen by hailing hailers as support for corruption. Never! But when a leaders knows his past was filled with rots, he should spend less time in self-branding but concentrate on mission at hand. And Buhari's mission is to fulfil campaign promises. |
citizenY:Naman was a captain of an Isreal Army but he had a disease that could be likened to leprosy, yet he roared like lion. |
If news coming from Thisday Newspaper regarding Buhari's advice to APC leadership on the need to look inwards for sourcing of fund to finance its activities is anything to go by, it further reestablishes our position that the President and his party have been playing pranks with the psyche of Nigerians in the ongoing fight against corruption. It further establishes our earlier position that an APC-led government at any level do not have the moral right to probe or prosecute members of the opposition for any act of impunity arising from the funding of its political activities while in govt as the ruling class. What this advice particularly accentuates is the veracity of the claims by many political watchers who have always maintained that State funds were used to finance APC when they were in opposition but with Rivers State slipping out of their hands and other APC-controlled States (such as Osun and Ogun facing acute revenue plunge), the president's recent stance was not borne out of sincerity but in response to startling realities starring him and his party in the face. Questions should now be thrown to the president why he did not query sources of fund allegedly spent by APC governors on his election campaigns if indeed he's a man of integrity as been widely claimed. Even if there are hardened supporters of the president who do not buy the idea of how questionable APC financing had been, can anyone in his/her right frame of mind counter the fact that millions of naira were spent in fuelling Rivers State and other Jets which the president used in traveling the length and breadth of the country in the last elections? Did the Rivers State Assembly approve the use of govt properties for activities other than state functions? More importantly, the president should explain to Nigerians on what moral ground he's now demonising the PDP for allegedly using public fund to finance its activities when they were in power at the centre. Starting the anti-corruption crusade on clean state using systemic and institutionalised approach to block further leakages and corrupt acts going forward, without unnecessarily dwelling on the past (which APC guilty belonged) will serve this administration some good. |
OrlandoOwoh:And who will make Buhari to account for the money spent on his campaigns? Who fuelled the Rivers State Jet and other airplanes used in touring the States before the elections? Who will probe the money used to bribe delegates that "voted" for him in the arrangee APC primaries? Why can't you learn from history? This was the same way Buhari ruled the country from 1983 to 1985 and was booted out through mere palace coup. The same way he embarked on selective and preplanned persecutions when he jailed Ekuweme but put Shagari in house arrest. Wait for the time the hunter will become the hunted. I can assure you of that. |
Goke7:This is no PR my friend. Nigeria must not be allowed to slide into full blown tyranny |
ISpiksDaTroof:This thread is about Dasuki been allowed to speak to Nigerians, not only the court. |
Modified. |
MisterGrace:And you wasted your entire life canvassing and voting for a change? I don't need anyone to tell me something is wrong with your brain. Wasted school fees. |
OP, may you become the next victim of Buhari's militocracy. |
I completely support PDP on this call. Attempting to smuggle a doctored Appropriation Bill into the Senate is a heinous crime worst than Dasukigate. For a president whose worshipers tag as Mr. Integrity to entertain this kind of shenanigan raises question about his democratic credential, competence and respect to the Legislative arm. Either the president or his SSA on Assembly Matters must face the music. |
tuale4u:What's wrong with you? We should commend the President for presenting national budget to the NA with all sorts of funfare and pageantry without doing a thorough job in vetting and scrutinising it? Have you forgotten how he sanctioned the TSA policy without knowing its intricacies thereby throwing up a monumental fraud of N8biilion? Buhari should be reprimanded for exhibiting such crudity and naivety despite fighting for the presidency for 12 years .He's a monumental disgrace to the black race. |

What are the take-homes from this? 1. Buhari did not know jack about the Chibok Girls saga before promising to have them released as soon as he becomes president. 2. APC used the Chibok Girls abduction to water down Jonathan govt's image while at the same time using it to deceive Nigerians into voting for them. 3. In trying to coverup its failure in having the girls released, Buhari in his characteristic manner is shifting the blaming to arms purchase scandal. What congruence is the arms fund having with Buhari's failure to secure the release of the girls as promised before the elections? 4. Nigerians should fasten their seatbelts and refurbish their shock absorbers as it seems Buhari's APC government will not achieve anything tangible in the next four years other than blame games. The signs are not heartwarming at all. |
Akainzo:Watch your mouth! Dasuki has not been pronounced guilty or convicted of stealing by any court in Nigeria and elsewhere. |
Akainzo:That's not always the case. Buhari had to personally call a press conference in an attempt to clarify his position on the WAEC Certificate scandal. |
Akainzo:You mean unending detention orders? Can't you read between the lines? The recycled court orders were meant to keep him permanently incommunicado. If the president is not afraid of Dasuki's freedom, he should stop waylaying him after every court bail. And with regards to his lawyer's representation, how many Nigerians would take his lawyer's statement as authentic? Nigerians are earnestly waiting to hear from the horse's mouth. |
kenny987:The court is not the only platform to speak on issues of this magnitude. Why are the presidency and EFCC speaking to the press other than limiting their own stories to the court? Dasuki should be granted unrestricted access to the public. |
Akainzo:No law bars him from speaking to the nation via a press conference. Under what capacity did Buhari speak to the nation when he was seeking political office? Under what capacity did he address the nation when playing down his Certificate saga? |
OrlandoOwoh:Then let Buhari release him first. |
kamair237:No sir. I don't hate the president but I hate deceit and propaganda. Today it's Dasuki, tomorrow it might be anybody. The nation will continue to move in circles if we continue this way. |
It was a well hatched plot. First, his home was invaded in a commando style reminiscent of the United States' invasion of Iraq in search of shadowed Weapons of Mass Destruction less than four days after vacating office as the National Security Adviser. Humiliated and ruffled, he was placed under tumultuous house arrest and eventually clamped into DSS detention. After spending days in gaol, he was reluctantly dragged before a magistrate court knowing fully that such court do not have jurisdiction over his case. Next was the charge of money laundering and illegal diversion of $2.1billion arms fund. Twice he was granted bail by courts of competent jurisdiction and twice he was prevented from going home. His accuser's reason for disregarding courts' bail orders was premised on discovery of his involvement in fresh crimes which were never made public nor tabled before the court up till today. However, he was subjected to unprecedented media trial and demonised for "diverting funds meant for military equipment and fight against Boko haram" That's the story of Dasuki, the nation's NSA in the outgone Jonathan administration. While the media landscape was saturated with Dasuki's "unpardonable sins", he was bluntly denied the opportunity of telling his story to the generality of Nigerians and this stokes up the question: Is Buhari afraid of the consequence(s) that may arise from Dasuki's explosion? Is the ruling party or the presidency afraid of security and political implications of Dasuki letting the cats out of the bag and spilling the beans? Is there anything the president is hiding from the public from the arms purchase probe? Are members of the ruling party involved in the arms fund scandal? Have we been told the truth about Mr. President's SUV and $300,000 allegations? Are there more revelations that may soil Buhari's integrity and anti corruption crusade? We cannot but justifiably conclude at this juncture that the presidency is acting a script well crafted in ensuring that Dasuki is not afforded the luxury of speaking to Nigerians and the world at large but how long can this be achieved? |
Jonathan has already made his position on the so called "arms fund" known. Let Buhari release Dasuki so that Nigerians can hear his own side of the story. Buhari is using the whole probe to divert attention of Nigerians from his govt's inability to tackle the nation's numerous woes. He's doing this to coverup failure in fulfilling his campaign promises. |
mrmetoo1:Aregbesola and Oshiomole (both of APC) did not wail before been congratulated by Jonathan and by extension, the PDP in the last dispensation. It's all in the spirit of sportsmanship. |
tuale4u:Kogi poll was a mess. Who will Buhari congratulate? The late Audu or the living usurper called Bello? My guy think now. |
Khd95:Buhari did not make hues about the alleged missing $2.8billion under his watch as a military head of state neither did he respond to the allegation of monumental(billions of naira) fraud that took place when he headed PTF until election period.. |
tuale4u:Try to read posts intuitively before commenting. The aims are explicitly stated therein. |
Khd95:Jonathan was not known for media propaganda. |
