whether they congratule him or not is not an issue. Dickson will rule and serve his people because the bayelsans have spoken their minds through the polls.
You're right to some extent but Mr. President's statement will go a long way in dousing tensions, unite Bayelsans and further enrich our democratic values.
Politics › Nigerians, Pls Ask The President To Say Something On Bayelsa Guber Polls by OLADD(op): 8:20am On Jan 13, 2016
More than 48 hours after INEC's declaration of incumbent governor of Bayelsa State, Seriaki Dickson as winner of the rescheduled supplementary governorship election held on January 9, 2016, many Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the seemingly reluctance or outright refusal of the President to either congratulate the winner or perhaps, issue an official statement stating his reservation or otherwise on the exercise.

Many would recall the swift and prompt responses from the last president Goodluck Jonathan almost immediately after pronouncements of winners in any elections either at the Federal or State levels even when some of the results did not favour him or his party, the PDP.

Mr. President's muteness on the Bayelsa polls three days after completion of the exercise does not portray him as a true father of the nation and further lays credence to the generally held view of APC being a party of bad loosers. This brings to memory, Mr. President's negative dispositions and refusal to accept Presidential election results of 2003, 2007 and 2011.

Even if the President and his party hold reservation(s) about the conduct and outcome of the polls, it behoves on them in the spirit of sportsmanship, to express some level of maturity by acknowledging and accepting the facts that an election had been held, a verdict given and a winner had emerged.

No matter the perception of Nigerians towards Jonathan's presidency, the ex president would be remembered for entrenching some democratic culture and values which should serve as imitable templates in our nation's democratic journey. The culture of do-or-die politics or enmity-after-polls must be a thing of the past in Nigeria.

Yes. If Buhari doesn't have the nerve to fight corruption within and outside his party, he should forget it. Selective prosecution is a wide gate that leads to national chaos.

Keep on ranting, by the time the searchlight will beam on nnpc that you have mentioned, you will curse the day Jonathan became president, its obvious you guys can't cope with myriad of revelations coming out so far, your misery have just started if you think PMB is joking, metu is already confessing despite on hunger strike, you can continue to take PMB for granted at your own peril
So funny. How long would it take for your messianic govt to unravel the "missing NNPC money"? I am surprised there are still Nairalanders yet to see the deceit in this govt.

i even call jonathan a two times murderer....

first he murder you by stealing the money meant for your protection..
then he murder you again because their were no protection around as your enemys came to kill you because jonathan stole the money for your protection...

so you die two times because of jonathan....
Those evil pronouncements go back to you.

its obvious the pdp goons are running out of ideas and getting so frustrated by the day, its like they thought PMB was joking initially but alas they can't but admit the ruggedness and doggedness of PMB to stamp out corruption.

My advise to Jonathan and the pdp is this, Jonathan can lead a delegation of his pdp goons to aso rock quietly to negotiate on how all the stolen funds should be returned, he himself should show example by returning if not all most his loot and that of his wife, with this all other pdp members home and abroad will be compelled to return theirs.

Anything short of this I bet you will not stop PMB to continue his chase and man hunt for all the looters, a word is enough for the wise.
My friend, this so-called corruption fight is nothing but a joke. Buhari"s govt can bring up allegation of $2.1billion arms fund diversion but have so far kept mute on the much trumpeted $20billion "missing NNPC money". Why has Buhari not deemed it necessary to also bring up the issue of his missing Certificate now that he's the C in C? Nigerians are no fools.

You don't really understand how it works. I am concerned about what will be the fate of this govt and the country if selective justice continues. Have you ever asked why God allowed Buhari's first stint in govt as military head of state to be so short lived? I guess one of the reasons was selective persecution and God frowns at that. If Buhari can't close his eyes and go all hog, then he should forget it. God will permit both centrifugal and centripetal forces to prevail over his govt if he continues this way. REMEMBER THE FAITH OF PROPHET ELI AND HIS SONS in the bible.

Allowing a thief to go scotfree (just because he's your party financier) while concentrating on other thieves is a crime against man and God.

Do not take the position of some APC moles who parade themselves as PDP leaders as the position of the party's hierarchy. Those speaking against Jonathan from within PDP are the people who clandestinely worked for APC in the last election. They were PDP members during the day and APC financiers during the night. OK?

One thing you've not been able to refute is that PDP is corrupt. Has there been any APC member fingered in #Dasukigate?
#Dasukigate itself is sheer political manipulation. The fund in question was not entirely meant for arms purchase as been brandied by Buhari and APC. The same "crime" PDP is been maligned is what APC celebrates at State level. Let Aregbesola, Kwankwasso, Fashola and the rest account for their respective State Security Votes.

What do you expect from an IPOB youth who benefited from the scraps from the masters table under Jonathan.

Jonathan presided over the most corrupt government in the history of this country.

Typical pained IPOB wailer. Its only the north that voted for Buhari in their own myopic eyes. All the people in Edo, Imo, the SW, Delta and Rivers that stood in the sun to vote for Buhari are Fulanis too undecided undecided

Just imagine the illiteracy displayed by this IPOB apologist! You say George Bush "mismanaged" the economy of the USA, that is political and economic failure. He did not sabotage the future of his country by participating and encouraging the pillage of the commonwealth of this country.

Money meant to procure arms for the nation's troops were diverted into private pockets under the authority of your hero.

So what are you suggesting? Buhari should ignore all the billions of dollars embezzled by GEJ and his cronies? He should pretend nothing happened?

It is people like this that are destroying this nation.
Dude, Bush led the United States to economic recession while Jonathan despite his govt's shortcomings propelled Nigeria to number one economy in Africa. Despite loss of lives arising from Bush's unpopular invasion of Iraq and its associated economic costs, Obama did not deem it necessary to embark on any smear campaign neither did he demonise his predecessor. My point is that Buhari and APC do not possess any attribute to condemn or prosecute Jonathan and his aides. If Buhari is really sincere in fighting corruption, he should ask EFCC to invite Fashola, Kwankwasso and Ameachi for questioning based on petitions written against them.

Any finally, it's youths like you whose minds are tainted with wicked, selective and perverse justice as been perpetuated by Buhari that myopically think Nigeria can move forward as it's been run.

Everybody MUST be probed if the nation wants to really move forward. Probing some people and leaving others would lead us nowhere. No nation excel on selective justice.

This is one major damage that the Jonathan administration did to the psyche of Nigerian youths - especially the biafridiots.
I am not one of those youths whose psyche have been damaged. Contrary to your insinuation (and that of Wole Soyinka), it's not corruption that's fighting back but selective prosecution tendencies. Choosing to concentrate on the opposition while overlooking the atrocities of your party members will definitely attract dire consequences and that's what will befall Buhari's govt if he continues this way. The fight against corruption must be all-encompassing and holistic.

EFCC is investigating the misappropriation of funds meant for the purchase of arms to Boko Haram. Was it the APC government that approved the fund? Has anybody fingered denied they got part of it? Jonathan has not yet been invited, save your tears for him.
Buhari's APC govt initiated the probe through EFCC. It was APC adminstration that sent the petition to the EFCC in the first instance. Nigerians should ask APC governors both past and present to account for all the security votes under their watch.

You're confused. You shot yourself in the foot when you admitted Jonathan had sins which Buhari should over look simply because Jonathan conceded defeat. When did conceding defeat has now become a source of immunity?
The word "sin" was actually stated with "quotation" in my post. In order words, it's only in the eyes of you and APC that Jonathan's shortcomings are the sole reason why Nigeria has found itself in this current state. I repeat, there's nothing Jonathan did that hasn't been done by previous administrations including the APC govt at State level.
Politics › Jonathan Should Fight Back Now. by OLADD(op):
If erstwhile President Jonathan thinks Buhari and the leadership of APC will be magnanimous in victory and allow him to enjoy his well deserved rest after meritoriously serving the nation, he must be making an unpardonable and grave mistake. The ongoing selective and vindictive phantom arms purchase probe has really proven that Buhari and APC are not in power to serve the interest of Nigerians but solely for vendetta, name-calling and blame games

The nation is aware of how APC connived with INEC (through preplanned and lopsided distribution of PVCs that glaringly gave the north electoral advantage over other regions) to rig the election in its favour but Jonathan against all odds decided to relinquish power despite alarming reasons not to do so.

Characteristic of APC, instead of savouring its victory and concentrate on governance, it chose to perpetually humiliate Jonathan and his party. For those who care to know, there's none of the "sins" for which Jonathan and PDP are been persecuted that APC as a party has not committed both in the past and the present.

Despite the level of mismanagement under the Republican adminstration of Bush which threw United States into recession, despite wasting both human and financial resources on a needless war in Iraq, the government of Obama chose to concentrate on governance instead of using the shortcomings of its predecessor to propagate its own image. Typical of the Blackman mentality, Buhari is unearthing Jonathan "sins" to shod up his badly smeared public image.

It's on this note that many well meaning Nigerians are asking him (Jonathan) to fight back instead of always being on the defensive. He should use everything at his disposal, legal or otherwise to save his political carrier but if he doesn't, Buhari and APC are heck bent in destroying him in other to play down their ineptitude and inability to govern Nigeria.

Good reasoning. Honestly, I have a feeling that the whole refund story was orchestrated to give Jafaru a soft landing. Buhari's comedic "corruption fight" may end up in tragedy both for him and his party.

By returning the #100million, Isa Jafaru has proven that he is a man of credibility and integrity. He should be commended for his act.

The honourable thing to do for people like Falae and others is to return the monies and free their conscience.

The War Against Corruption Must Be Won
You're sounding so pathetic and ambiguous nowadays. How could refund of money simply qualify him as a "man of integrity"? I am beginning to think the word INTEGRITY has a different meaning in Nigeria. Have you ever asked yourself if Jafaru would have returned the money if there's no probe or arrest? Why did he not refund the money until now if he indeed had integrity?

Buhari's indifferent postures towards the rots in his party has further convinced me that he's a leader that lacks conscience. Contrary to those who believe that corruption has a way of fighting back in Nigeria, it's actually Buhari's one-sided anti-corruption crusade and his many injustices that will hunt him down.

I hope local production continues regularly as this would go a long way to aid.
Even local production cannot ameliorate the situation. Nigeria's four refineries when fully revamped can only produce 10million litres of PMS per day and with daily local consumption currently standing at 40million we're left with a shortfall of 30million litres which can only be augmented through importation.
Instead of wasting money on unsustainable welfare projects, building new refineries should have been the major priority for this govt. By the time NNPC exhausts its current stock, the nation may be thrown into another round of fuel hike.

I have said it many times that the Arms fund probe is just a diversionary tactic by Buhari and an attempt to give relevance to his phantom anti-corruption (witchhunt) crusade. The fund in question was never entirely earmarked for arms procurement. Nonetheless, owners of Vintage must be treated the same way Dokpesi was humiliated by Buhari, refund or not.

government is wise enough to borrow for capital projects only. Buhari is not mortgaging Nigeria, instead if that budget is properly implemented, you might not know your country again. and yes it will have the ability to pay back.
Do you know the percentage of the borrowing earmarked for capital projects? Are you aware that a whopping N500billion was proposed for the so called social welfare? Imagine if that amount was injected into large scale commercial farming, do you know its likely impact on our economic diversification drive? Borrowing money to finance recurrent expenditure is not only insensitive, it can be economically suicidal.
Politics › Re: Buhari’s Budget’ll Turn Nigeria To A Debtor Nation – PDP by OLADD: 7:46am On Dec 30, 2015
A template has already been set in Lagos by APC's local champion (Fashola) who left a debt burden of N160billion with a borehole and website costing N300m and N78m respectively. It's only in this part of the world that a govt will borrow money to finance welfarism. Aregbesola did the same in Osun by taking loans for the so-called school feeding project and left the State "technicality" bankrupt. I haven't seen any Nigerian parents who complain of inability to feed their wards in primary schools but Buhari wants to mortgage Nigeria for the sake of 2019.
