As separate nations,we are able to preserve our culture better and also our language.I can across an article of the chinese trying to preserve their language and culture.Do you think this is a good idea? I do for one.

China bans English words in media

Source: BBC - BBC News

China has banned newspapers, publishers and website-owners from using foreign words - particularly English ones.

China's state press and publishing body said such words were sullying the purity of the Chinese language.

It said standardised Chinese should be the norm: the press should avoid foreign abbreviations and acronyms, as well as "Chinglish" - which is a mix of English and Chinese.

The order also extends existing warnings that applied to radio and TV.

China's General Administration of Press and Publication said that with economic and social development, foreign languages were increasingly being used in all types of publications in China.

It said such use had "seriously damaged" the purity of the Chinese language and resulted in "adverse social impacts" on the cultural environment, reported the People's Daily newspaper.

If words must be written in a foreign language, an explanation in Chinese is required, the state body said.

Because those wars are in West Africa where we are the strongest. In other places, we donate to the AU force.
. . .And the two best armies are Ethiopia and Eritrea, not Egypt and SA. You don't want to meet Ethiopian and Eritrean soldiers on the battlefield, they are bloody well trained and equipped.
o ok. Yea i heard those to armies were cut throat.

lagbaja20:
CIVILISATION STARTED FROM YORUBA KINGDOM

According to historical studies, the Oyo palace is estimated to be sitting on about 640 acres. We still have excavations of the old Oyo Empire, and centuries after, some of the walls of the old Oyo Empire, are still standing in its original form. That is a great testimony of the architectural ingenuity of the Yoruba race.

The old Yoruba Empire distinguished itself in the world; with three very distinctive and unique models. First, it evolved a wonderfully developed constitution, though unwritten. The average Yoruba man is governed by strong convention. Secondly, the Yorubas evolved a military system that allows them to develop weaponry. The Yorubas are the first to smith iron and thus, they built foundries from where they also produced agricultural implements to boost food production. Thirdly, the Yoruba race evolved a very practical method of administration, by adopting the cabinet system of governance. If you are a good student of the evolution of British Constitution, you'd know that the cabinet system came about in Britain only as a matter of temporal expedience; it was not by design. So, as far back as the 16th Century, the old Oyo Empire developed the cabinet system of government. And from the Prime Minister, to the Alaafin, and the various divisional heads, all tiers have their roles and responsibilities clearly spelt out and adhered to with separation of powers, and inputs for checks and balances.

One can therefore say that civilisation started from the Yoruba race! The Yorubas established a contact with the Portuguese as far back as the 17th century and the Alaafin had maintained an ambassador with the Court of Portugal, ever since.
So what you are saying is that the yorubas were uncivilized before the portuguese showed up? I'm confused. huh

There is going to be plenty of rigging in Abia though. T.A. Orji has assigned his goons to the "get out the vote" effort. Abia State is really suffering. And the fact that this man stopped the completion of the road to my village pisses me off even more! angry angry angry
I doubt him rigging would stand in Abia.It is well known that there is less than a hand full of people that would elect him back into office. There would be a riot and possible Abians will shut down business services etc. until he rightfully steps down.

If yorubas and igbos are to go in the same country then the tribes in between the two group would have to accept going into that country or else it would be a lost cause. To add to that I think each tribe should go its way, maybe the igbos will learn to stay in their own land and develop it instead of making a mass exodus to yorubaland after they are kicked out on the declaration of arewa republic and strict islamic law.

I strongly think Anambra is overdue to have an airport. Anambra people make up most of the air travellers in Nigeria and it will even develop the economy of the state but the redundant, non performing and timid governor will never consider this.
Be thankful for what you just got. The SE has been denied an international airport for so long, don't start screaming for another one the next day after you just got one. Patience.

How is this going to be effective without the basic immigration control? Non-nigerians who enter illegally through neighboring countries would just become citizens and fake residents over night.

If Egypt's military is so strong, how come Israel defeated them in the Six-Day War? The Israeli military captured the Sinai peninsula very easily. And Israel also defeated Syria and Jordan as well. Size does not always matter. That is something that I admire about Israel. They have the strongest military in the Middle East.
We must remember that just because Egypt was defeated by Israel some time back, doesn't me that it is not a strong army nor the strongest in Africa. Another thing that we have to take into consideration when it comes to the Israeli army is that the US gives $1 Billion annually to their military, both cash and equipment. If the same was reciprocated to the surrounding countries I doubt Israel would be where it's at in terms of prowess.

I'm wondering why some on here think that if the nations within nigeria separate, they would suffer. They were separate during pre-colonial times and doing more than well so why is it that they need to be together in order to do the same.Seems ironic to me. Can those who are saying that those nations such as O'odua, Biafra, Arewa, and "NDR" will fail if they go their way give a reason why?Logical pls.

A STATEMENT REGARDING JOS AND BORNO ATTACKS

In the name of Allah the mighty Who has power over everything, Who made fighting the disbelievers an obligation until justice is established on earth.

May peace and blessings continue to be upon the last messenger who wage jihad, the best of it.

O Nations of the World, be informed that verily the attacks in Suldaniyya (Jos) and Borno on the eve of Christmas was carried out by us, JAMA’ATU AHLUS-SUNNAH LIDDA’AWATI WAL JIHAD, under the leadership of Abu Muhammad, Abubakar bin Muhammad Shekau (May Allah preserve him), to start avenging the atrocities committed against Muslims in those areas, and the country in general. Therefore we will continue with our attacks on disbelievers and their allies and all those who help them, until Allah’s deen triumph by His Grace and Will.

O Muslims! Do not forget that Allah has enjoined us to make provisions for fighting the disbelievers, and for that we are reminding you that the disbelievers of the world are fighting Islam and Muslims. So you must stand and strive to protect your religion and life.

With Peace
JAMA’ATU AHLUS-SUNNAH LIDDA’AWATI WAL JIHAD
Who is waging Jihad in the country called Nigeria.

My Prayer is that may God forgive those who caused this mayhem and open their eyes to see salvation.
May the soul of the victims Rest in Peace and have eternal life.

This is a barbaric act and God condemns it, MUSLIMS!!!, hear this!!!
The site is definitely non-nigerian.The bombing apart from it being an act committted by politicians,is non-nigerian. If the Fulanis wanted to attack and cause mayhem on christmas eve, they would have simply called their brothers from neighboring states or countries and with deadly weapons struck at night. The website is more or so propaganda to make the country uncontrollable.

But guys as far as I remember , this is the second time he has run, so has Buhari and probably others. He is entitled to run as far as his desire and will carries him. he is passionate about making change, and very determined to be involved in the process. The same sort of determination that is lacking in a lot of us, that we so easily give up and allow the evil that has plagued us for so long to persist.
We are in support of him but political calculation is extremely important.
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi Officially Declares To Run As A Presidential Candidate In 2011 by Olaedo1: 8:18pm On Dec 27, 2010
I don't think he gives the proper thinking needed in politics,as far as time goes. You can't continue to run for president during every election, it brings down your value. Instead she should have ran for senate or something down that like.Governor of Delta state.Build up his rapport a little bit more. I really think this is a bad move.
