http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/crisis-hits-south-west-pdp-over.html Fresh crisis is brewing in the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), South West, over the national Chairmanship ticket of the party zoned to the area. The South West Board of Trustees, BOT, caucus of the party had pruned the numbers of chairmanship aspirants from the Zone to three, with a promise to pick one of the trio as a consensus candidate for the office. In a document signed by Alhaji Shuibu Oyedokun, a Board member on behalf of others, he said those selected were Professor Taoheed Adedoja, one time Sports and Special Duties Minister, Chief Olabode George, Former National Vice and Deputy Chairman of the Party and Professor Tunde Adeniran, Former Education Minister. But, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West has dissociated itself from the purported endorsement of some aspirants vying to contest the national chairmanship of the party. The National Vice Chairman and regional chairman, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, in a statement made available to journalists in Akure on Monday , described the claim by some aspirants as an act of impunity. According to him, the party “will not support any action that will infringe on the fundamental rights of any party man to aspire to the highest position in the party. “In furtherance of this, we affirm that all those gentlemen from the South West that wish to contest for the position of the National Chairman of the party are at liberty to continue to pursue their ambition without encumbrance or hindrance.” Olafeso noted that the Board of Trustees (BoT) members of the party were resolute on their decisions not to interfere in the election by allowing all the aspirants to have equal right to contest. “We however declare that we remain in constant touch with stakeholders in the South West who possess the legitimate right to proffer guidance and input required to position and promote the party. “The issue of adopting a common position in the party is a serious action that must take due cognizance of every tendency within the party,” he said. The chairman stressed that the party was people-oriented and not the personal estate of a few, warning that the executive would not tolerate any act of impunity from anybody irrespective of their status. “We therefore conclude that no one has been barred from pursuing their ambitions in any manner,” he said.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/pastor-adeboye-predicts-what-will.html The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has predicted that Nigeria’s legal tender, Naira, will become a powerful currency in the world again. This is even as he said that those responsible for the devaluation of the Naira in the past few years will be arrested. Adeboye made the declaration, weekend, at the November Holy Ghost Service with the theme: “Victory Ahead” held in Shimawa community, Ogun State. The cleric said: “I told you that when we were building the first auditorium, the one by the expressway, and it was time for roofing and the roofing was going to cost N17, 000. We had no money for the project. “Naira was powerful those days and Naira will be powerful again in Jesus name. “Mighty auditorium, 100×50 metres, and you want to roof it with N17, 000! “The tide will turn in favour of the naira,” Adeboye declared. He added: “For all those who are deliberately devaluing the Naira, as my God lives, they’ll be arrested.”

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/veteran-actor-sadiq-daba-speaks-on.html Veteran Nollywood actor cum TV presenter, Sadiq Daba has opened up on his health challenges following confirmation that he has prostate cancer shortly after he was hospitalised for months due to leukemia. Speaking with Punch newspaper, Daba said: “Right now, I have a catheter inserted into my penis to ease the movement of urine. I have been in and out of hospitals for a while now. “Next week, I also have to go for a biopsy to determine if I would need to do a major surgery. I have leukemia to battle with, then this prostate issue comes in. The pain is just too much for me. “I have been receiving treatment at LASUTH and OAUTH and the doctors have been wonderful. I was told that one of the side effects of the surgery is that my testicles would have to be removed. That means I would be castrated and I don’t think I want that. “The other option is that I would have to take injections that would cost N150,000 every two months, and I have to take it for about two years. You can imagine what the total cost would be,” he added. On whether members of the movie industry have been assisting him, Daba said, “A few of my colleagues have been wonderful; they have tried to help as much as they can. The DGs of NTA, Censors Board, and the president of PMAN have also been of help. “I can’t start carrying bowls and be going all about the place begging for money. I believe I have paid my dues. For those who know about my situation and want to help, they are welcome. Everything that I have to do is tied to money. There is no drug that is cheap.”

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/i-will-succeed-buhari-orji-uzor-kalu.html A former governor of Abia State and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Orji Uzor Kalu has stated that Igbos don’t need anything else but Nigeria’s presidency. Kalu said this yesterday in Umuahia during the annual harvest of St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church. He declared that he would be found in Aso Rock come 2023 when, according to him, President Muhammadu Buhari will handover to an Igboman. He said the future of the Igbo in Nigeria politics is brighter now in APC than ever before, insisting that producing an Igbo president is a task every true Igbo indigene must key into, just as he noted that APC is the best platform to achieve the dream. “The future of Ndigbo is brightest today in APC. Once Buhari finishes his second tenure, I am assuring you that either I or any other Igbo man stands a better chance of becoming the President of Nigeria. The right thing to do is to work for the presidency. “We don’t need any other thing than the office of the President. If you see what I have done in our villages as governor, you will know what will happen if somebody like me becomes the president; you know that the entire Nigeria will be developed. “The future is very bright and Ndi Igbo will enjoy being in APC. That is why we are working very hard to win the Anambra State election and we will win the state. “It is possible to have Orji Kalu in Aso Rock, if I’m alive and in good health. I’m very capable to be president because I understand Nigeria’s macro and micro economics,” he said. cc: Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/misau-vs-idris-igp-drags-senator-to.html The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, has filed a libel suit against the Senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Hamman Misau. Idris is demanding N5 billion as compensation for alleged defamation. The Federal Government, through the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, had earlier preferred criminal charges against Misau. The criminal case instituted by the AGF office and the civil case by the IGP himself are stemmed from allegations of corruption and unethical practices leveled by Misau against the IGP in the electronic and print media. The civil case has been assigned to Justice Jude Okeke of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja while the criminal case is before the Chief Judge of the court, Justice Ishaq Bello. Justice Okeke has fixed for November 13, 2017 for hearing in the case. The IGP’s lawyer, Marcel Oru, in the suit prayed the court to award cumulative aggravated and exemplary damages of N5 billion to his client against the Senator.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/can-endorses-fayoses-presidential.html The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has commended the courage and the boldness with which Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, openly declared his intention to contest the 2019 presidential election. The body also advised the governor not to be distracted by people who have nothing good to offer the country. This was contained in a letter sent to the governor by the Christian body and signed by the National General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Musa Asake. In the letter dated October 16, 2017 with reference number CAN/GS/IGMAILS/02/017, CAN noted that Fayose’s presidential declaration of September 28, 2017 in Abuja, could only be done by somebody with uncommon boldness and courage giving the harassment and intimidation that would surely follow. “Unarguably, you have done what many of our politicians, Christians in particular, do not have the courage to do. This is why I agree with you, hook, line and sinker, when in your speech you said inter alia, “You are all witnesses to my commitment to this party in this difficult period, where I have demonstrated uncommon courage that makes me stand out as capable of leading our country at this time.” “Your Excellency sir, because you are known to doing great in your leadership and that you will move this country forward, the enemies of progress are not happy with your declaration and are not sleeping well. The devil will use many, even those who might be closer to you to try to create lies, false accusation, spread rumours, just to distract people from seeing the good leadership qualities that are in you. “In times like this, if honest and courageous leaders like you are not careful, this can bring discouragement. Be assured that the Lord who has led you in your leadership as the Executive Governor of Ekiti State at this time, will never let you down. Your critics have the right to say whatever they want, that is to be expected anyway. No leader should expect applause from his critics,” the association said. “The leader that Nigeria really needs is the one that shuns the cosmetic approach because he knows it is superficial and the ” quick fix it” approach because he knows it is temporary. The country needs a leader who has the courage to face problems honestly, the wisdom to understand them, the strength to do something about them and the faith to trust God to do the rest.” CAN added that the nation’s problems could only be solved by leaders who walk with God and that Fayose had always put his trust in God. It opined that the assignment of rebuilding the country would not be impossible for Fayose as a leader because God’s grace would be sufficient for him.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/appear-next-tuesday-or-face-arrest.html The ongoing Senate probe into various allegations against the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris was stalled on Wednesday, following the inability of the Police Boss to appear before the committee. Senate, however, insisted that the IGP must appear next Tuesday. Senator Isah Hamman Misau (Bauchi Central), had accused IGP Idris of unduly promoting officers of the Police Force and also extorting money from Commissioners of Police before posting. Misau also accused Idris of extorting money from oil companies and private individuals, who enjoy special security services of the Police. Subsequent on the motion on point of order by Senator Misau, the Senate President Bukola Saraki, mandated an adhoc committee under the chairmanship of the Senate Deputy Whip, Francis Alimikhena to probe the Police boss. Having served the IG of Police an invitation letter on 16th October 2017, the Police was billed to appear before the committee on Wednesday, 1st November. Meanwhile, briefing reporters, Senator Alimikhena said the committee received a letter from the IGP’s lawyer, Alex Izyon (SAN) on Tuesday, informing the committee that “it would amount to subjudice if the Inspector General of Police appears before the Senate committee, on the same issue that is before the competent court of law”. Senator Alimikhena, however, said the IG of police would be invited to appear before the senate on Tuesday, 7th November. According to him, “part of the reason why we are inviting the IG has to do with the issue of virement of 2016 and 2017 Appropriation Act and the oversight raised by Senator Misau”. He insisted that IGP Idris must appear before the Senate next week, failure of which he said “section 89(c) of the 1999 constitution would be invoked on him”.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/what-i-want-to-be-remembered-for-buhari.html President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he wants Nigerians to remember him as a leader that met a vandalised Nigeria, and reset the buttons on almost all areas of national life — political, social, economic, local and international image. According to Buhari, his government would not rest on its oars until the rots created in the nation’s political space by preceding government were cleared. He made this points in an interview published in the current edition of African Economy. Buhari said he met a vandalized Nigeria upon assumption of office in 2015 and has been working hard to fix it before exit from office. He said, “We are doing our best, and we will continue to do so. God is kind to us, giving us good rains and rich harvest for two consecutive years, and very soon, we would not have cause to import grains. “We would be remembered as the government that put Nigeria on the path of food self-sufficiency. We would feed ourselves and export food, as well. The economy will be diversified and would be resilient to crash in oil prices in the international market. “I will love this administration to be remembered as one that met a vandalised Nigeria, and reset the buttons on almost all areas of national life — political, social, economic, local and international image. “I also want this government to be remembered as one that cleaned up the political space, especially in the area of elections. “We would bequeath clean electioneering to the country, secure our land within and without, and give Nigerians a pride of place locally and internationally. We will do our best, offer honest leadership, and surely God will crown the efforts.”

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/11/434m-efcc-resumes-probe-of-osborne.html The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has resumed probe into the $43.4million cash recovered at Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos linked to ex-Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke, for which NIA laid claim. President Muhammadu Buhari, had stated that the nation’s security and anti-corruption agencies were free to probe sacked Secretary to the Government of the Federation, BabachirLawal, and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke. EFCC had reportedly received the report of the Presidential Investigative Committee headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on interrogation of some suspects. It was learnt that more suspects from the NIA are to be invited for interrogation by the anti-graft agency in respect to that. According to the Nation, a top source in the anti-graft agency, who spoke under anonymity said: “On Tuesday, we resumed the ongoing probe of the $43.4million, 27,000 pounds and N23.2million recovered on April 12, 2017 from the seventh floor of a four-bedroom apartment at Osborne Towers located on 16, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. “We have shortlisted more suspects for interrogation and we are likely to pick them up any moment from now. Some of the suspects are NIA men including those in the Finance Unit. “Don’t forget that the then Acting President approved the redeployment of NIA’s Director of Finance and some officials in the Finance Unit as part of the ongoing review of the finances of the agency.” “The detectives are being led by the Acting Chairman of EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, who has reconvened the team handling the investigation. “Some of the detectives might still visit Lagos for more forensic evidence on some of the suspects,” the source revealed. A final forfeiture order of the funds was on June 6, 2017 granted by a judge of the Federal High Court in Lagos, Justice Muslim Hassan, since no one appeared before the court to claim them.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/im-most-qualified-to-be-oyo-governor.html Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu has claimed that Governor Abiola Ajimobi would have no choice than to support his ambition to be the next governor of Oyo State. Shittu said Ajimobi knows he (Shittu) was best qualified, in all ramifications, to continue to manage the state, while also noting that he had a longstanding relationship with Ajimobi, dating back to 2007. The minister told Nigerian Tribune that although he was yet to formally discuss his governorship ambition with Ajimobi, but politicians across all the five zones of the state, as well as the entire All Progressives Congress (APC), structure in the state will queue, in large numbers, to support his ambition. “Governor Ajimobi and I have been together since 2007 when I was Attorney General of the state. Recall that, that year, he contested for governorship on the platform of ANPP when we were in PDP and my governor was Senator Rashidi Ladoja. “When the election was to come up, Governor Ladoja announced to the entire people of the state to give Ajimobi support and the people did. When the election was rigged, Governor Ladoja called on me as Attorney General to raise a legal team to pursue Ajimobi’s case at the tribunal. “We spent about N25 million to pursue the case and for everyday that the case came up, I was physically part of the legal team led by Niyi Akintola. Even when we lost at the tribunal, I was present at the appeal. Unfortunately, he lost again. And we became friends. I can assure you that we remain friends. He will have no choice but to support me. “I have not had the opportunity to formally discuss my ambition with the incumbent governor Abiola Ajimobi but the opportunity will come. “I know he wants the best successor and he knows I am the one who has the requirements of being the servant of a greater Oyo state. I am convinced Governor Ajimobi will support me. He is a party person; he has done well in road development, only surpassed by General David Jemibewon. I don’t have any problem with him, he will support me. “Today, as Minister of Communication, nobody in Oyo State has the experience I have in utilising ICT to develop the Oyo State economy to the extent that other countries are using the same ICT to develop the country. They know that with my level of exposure and Godliness that I will not steal their money. If you have someone who is ungodly, he will simply steal your state blind. “You need the best, compassionate manager, most honest, experienced, educated manager to run the state so that what comes to Oyo state from federation account and our local resources are put to the best use in the service of our people,” he said.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/why-buhari-sacked-ex-sgf-lawal-fayose.html Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has said that the outcry from Nigerians, forced President Muhammadu Buhari to sack suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Ayodele Oke. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said the President’s action was an afterthough. He called on Buhari to hand over the officials to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. “The President only acted because of the outcry of Nigerians, especially over the fraudulent reinstatement of the former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Mr Abdullahi Maina. “Enough of using probe panels to shield people accused of corruption in Buhari’s government. Rather, they should be arrested, detained and prosecuted by the EFCC as being done to others perceived as the president’s enemies. “Once again, Nigerians have proved that the power of the president is not greater than that of the people who elected him. “What Nigerians expected from a President who rode to power on the basis of integrity is a total cleansing of his government, not setting up a panel to investigate corruption allegations involving his men and reluctantly sacking a few of them because of public outcry,” Fayose said. The Governor added that the report of the panel that investigated them should be made public. “Nigerians are interested in the full details of the report on the $43m discovered in an apartment at Osbourne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos. The report should be made public. “They also want to know what happened to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Ibe Kachikwu’s allegation of award of $25bn contracts without following due process against the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Maikanti Baru. “Nigerians are interested in the report of the panel that looked into the Department of State Service report that indicted Acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu of corruption. They want to know why the former Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde, who was accused of corruption by the Senate, removed from office unceremoniously and declared wanted is now the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, Lagos,” he stated.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/buhari-speaks-on-babachir-lawals-sack.html President Muhammadu Buhari has faulted reports which claimed he had earlier declared that former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, was not guilty of the corruption allegations leveled against him. Buhari, speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, stated this on Monday during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today. “You didn’t get it right; the President had no time said anybody was not guilty. What the President said then was that he was not given the right to defend himself,” he said. Contrary to claims that the President was defending the sacked SGF, Adesina said President Buhari was not pleased with the process adopted by the legislature for the accusation of Lawal. “He (Buhari) said the procedure adopted for the indictment that came from the National Assembly was not proper. The President did not give him a clean bill of health, he only faulted the procedure,” the President’s spokesman insisted. He, however, said the decision to sack the senior government officials was a proof that the President was careful in making decisions, adding that nobody could pressure him. Adesina added that the relevant agencies that had begun investigations into the allegations which led to the sack of the former SGF and NIA boss would be allowed to continue with their work without any interference. “Anybody that knows this President will know that he’s a man that takes his time but when he makes up his mind, he makes it up real good. Who can pressure the President? All I’ll just say is that the President, once again, has shown himself to be a painstaking and a thorough person. “The Presidency does not interfere in the works of the works of the security agencies, they know what they should do at any given time. So, the onus is on them to do the next thing,” he said.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/enugu-council-polls-ensiec-clears-all.html The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, Monday, announced that it has cleared all candidates submitted to it by the political parties in the State for the forthcoming local government election in the State. The council polls, which will hold across the 17 council areas and 260 wards for the chairmanship and councillorship positions, respectively, has been scheduled for this Saturday, November 4, 2017. It could be re-called that the ENSIEC had earlier disqualified some of the candidates for reasons ranging from non-possession of tax clearance certificate, non-possession of PVC to failure of some of the candidates to attend screening earlier organized by the commission. However, in a terse statement signed by the commission’s secretary, Mr. Tagbo Nnamah, he said all the candidates submitted within the stipulated time would be allowed to stand for the election. The statement read: “Following the meeting of the commission with leaders of various political parties in Enugu State, the commission has resolved that every person who was selected and presented by any political party and considered fit to represent the party in the forthcoming Local Government Elections is free to stand for the said election without any disqualification. “In the light of this, all names submitted by political parties on or before 26thOctober, 2017 and names sent for replacement in appropriate cases are, therefore, valid and favourably considered. “Please accept the assurances of the commission’s best regards.”

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/81-out-100-appointees-of-president.html A breakdown has surfaced online of the list of all President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment since he assumed office in 2015. According to Business Day newspaper, 81 of the 100 appointments made by Buhari were from the North while the other regions shared the remaining 19 appointments. The list shows all Buhari’s appointees and the geopolitical zones they come from. This list is coming at a time when Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye stressed that the Buhari’s administration has fixed wrong people in strategic position. Melaye said Buhari’s selections were synonymous to someone wearing oversized shoes, adding that there were lots of nepotism in the President’s appointments. Similarly, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Alhassan, had led a protest to the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat in Abuja, after claiming that the Buhari’s government had neglected members of the party in Taraba State. Osinbajo, spoke in Lagos on Friday during the Greater Nigeria Pastors Conference convened by Apostle Wale Adefarasin and Rev. Abayomi Kasali. He explained that the recent uproar over the country’s subscription to Sukuk Bonds was not justified. Osinbajo said, “Part of the problem is the failure of Christian leadership to take its rightful place. We focus our minds on something we call the Islamic agenda. We look for it everywhere as if we are looking for demons. “But where is the Christian agenda. Are we not entitled to one? We are too divided as Christians to have an agenda. The key to the unity and progress of Nigeria is in the church.” According to him, there were no plans to Islamise Nigeria through the Sukuk bond or the country’s membership of the Islamic Development Bank. He said that apart from Nigeria, many nations of the world including the United States of America and the United Kingdom had also embraced the system as a result of its progressive nature. He said, “The Sukuk is an Islamic concept, which enables people to have access to credit. It is essentially like a bond. The US, UK, China, South Africa have all used the Sukuk. Once there is money in the market, let us not get sentimental. The most important thing is for us to use those monies well. “Some people say there are some hidden things in this arrangement and that one day somebody is going to take us over. Where? How will that happen? “These are straightforward financial systems used all over the world. I don’t think it presents any real problem. It is a very progressive financial system. “Nigeria became a member of the Islamic Development Bank in 2005 and the first person to sit as director of the bank was Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. “The second person to sit as a director is the current Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, and both of them are Christians. So, when people talk about Islamic agenda, sometimes I am lost. “The person who brought us into the bank is not a Fulani or Northerner, the person was a Christian, so why are we complaining? Nigeria is the fourth largest shareholder in the Islamic Bank. “This wasn’t Buhari’s making. We must have facts before saying things. But above all, we must ask ourselves if being a member of the bank profits us or not. “For me, I have no problem with this. We can use what we get there to develop our society. This is the most important for me.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/buhari-struggling-to-govern-nigeria_25.html The senator representing Sokoto North senatorial district, Aliyu Wamakko, says President Muhammadu Buhari is struggling to meet the expectations of Nigerians. He said this in a chat with newsmen in Sokoto on Tuesday. Wamakko stressed that Nigeria is very complex and that no individual could turn the country around without support of majority of the people. Noting that Buhari has done fairly well since he assumed office in 2015, the former Sokoto governor said there is much work to be done for the electorate to feel his impact. “My reflection about APC government and Buhari in two years: I will say depending on the circumstances we found ourselves and the challenges he had along the way, I think he (Buhari) has done fairly well but could do more. “Human beings have different expectations of government. Some will focus on health sector, water supply, agriculture, economy while some will look at security. In the area of security, he has done fairly well except the kidnap menace that has been bedevilling the country,” Thisday quoted him as saying.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/buhari-led-apc-government-full-of-armed.html Nigerian governors in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have taken a swipe at the government of the All Progressives Congress, APC, over the scandals that have rocked the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state spoke on behalf of his colleagues during the opening session of the 76th PDP National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting in Abuja. He said, “If we don’t expose them (APC government), nobody will do so. “The APC is now in many scandals, we have to keep our voices up to expose them. Armed robbers calling people thieves, who are the armed robbers now? “We must tell the whole world that the PDP is the best place to be; the last convention was applauded. I want to believe that this one will be the same. “In this convention, there will be winner and loser, but in all, the party must win. “The fact that you did not win should not make you to destroy the party,” Fayose said. Present at the meeting were Governors Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and the deputy governor of Bayelsa state, John Jonah.

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/averted-plane-crash-pastor-adeboye.html Averted plane crash: Pastor Adeboye received divine instruction to pray for me before the trip - Bishop David Oyedepo It was praise, worship and thanksgiving to God yesterday at Canaanland, Otta, the headquarters of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (LFCWW) . The leadership and members of the church came out in large number to thank God for averting a plane crash that would have involved the Presiding Bishop of the Church, Bishop David Oyedepo and his wife. It was the third time Bishop Oyedepo would be involved in near air mishap. Narrating how this third and most recent accident happened , a pastor in the church, Adebisi read the report from the aircraft’s pilot, Captain Samuel Adegoga. “The main malfunction we had in the Cyprus-Israel flight was a stabilizer twin-motor failure. During the said flight that we had the twin motor failure, the auto-pilot could no longer exert the desired pressure to keep the aircraft in the required altitude for stability flight. “The captain disconnected the auto-pilot, took and returned the aircraft to the required altitude for that phase of the flight. Because the aircraft was out of trim during this takeover, the aircraft abruptly pitched off with much pitch force. ” The captain counteracted it with a pitch down force. These counter forces caused turbulence and movement in the cabin and cargo hold. Heavy items in the cargo section fell from their compartment, making a loud noise, ” the pilot wrote. ” We thank the God of this commission for making the pilot to react promptly. Similar failures in the past have resulted in fatal accidents due to lateness of pilot’s reaction, ” Adebisi added. However, while the pilot saw the incident as mechanical malfunctioning, Bishop Oyedepo said the averted air disaster was a spiritual attack. He went on to explain that a few days before he embarked on the journey, his ‘father in the Lord’ and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye had had a revelation about the incident and came over to his house unannounced to pray for him. Bishop Oyedepo’s words: “According to the word of God, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord will hit the earth, there will be a restoration of sonship and fatherhood to the body of Christ. ” On Friday preceding the journey that we made, my father in the Lord showed up at 6:30 early in the morning and saw a vision and wasn’t sleeping, and said, ‘Lord, Lord, why seek the living among the dead? No, no…’ So, he took off and landed here before 6:30am. No, there was no idea that he was coming, and there was no discussion after it. The heart of the father will be drawn to the heart of the son to defend. ” Understand what I’m saying. You don’t have inheritance in a pastor; you don’t have in a teacher. Many of us have teachers all our lives. Did they share anything with you when they died? Did any teacher write your name in his will? You only have an inheritance with a father. A good man leaves an inheritance for his children to inherit. Fatherhood is not an accolade, it is a revelation. So, that was not technical failure, it was a spiritual attack that Jesus averted. Every prophet sent to you is ordained a father. Elisha shouted: ‘My father! My father!‘ He was the son of Sherphat. Elijah was not his biological father, but he was a prophet sent to him…Every prophet sent to you is sent as a father, not as brother, not as an uncle, not as a friend. I have enjoyed this kind of covering all my life. ” Corroborating the testimony of Bishop Oyedepo, his second son, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, the Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Lokogoma, Abuja said this on October 8 : “Very early last week Tuesday, Daddy G. O (Pastor Enoch Adeboye) went to Bishop Oyedepo’s house unannounced, no telephone calls. “Daddy G.O said ‘God told him to go and pray for Bishop’. Pastor Isaac further said the message was so urgent that Daddy G.O came without Mummy G.O (his wife), it was that urgent. So Daddy G.O was just entering everywhere and praying. “On Friday of the same week, Bishop, his wife and three other keys members ‘re on their way to Israel, when suddenly, I mean suddenly, the auto pilot failed in the air but the Everlasting Arms showed up, miraculously brought them down, no scratch.’ Among the gospel musicians who ministered at the special thanksgiving service were Evangelist Bola Are, Evangelist Adelakun and his Ayewa group .

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/david-mark-breaks-two-years-silence-in.html Immediate past President of the Senate, David Mark, on Wednesday, spoke on the floor for the first time in two years and four months. It was the first time Sen. Mark had spoken on the floor of the Senate since the 8th National Assembly was inaugurated on the 9th of June, 2017. Mark spoke when his only bill sponsored in two years, was read for the second time. It’s titled “A Bill for an Act to Establish the Federal University of Health Science, Utukpo and other related matters connected thereto, 2017.” Unlike others bills read on the floor, Mark only read an abridged version of it. Many lawmakers wanted to speak on the issue, but were restricted by the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided. Leader of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, while speaking, said in other climes, the bill would not be debated. He urged his colleagues to make provision for the take-off of the university in the 2018 budget. Lawan said: “This bill reminds me of my days in the opposition. Elsewhere in the world, this bill will not be debated because of the sponsor. For someone who served as the Senate President for eight years is not ordinary. We need to appreciate that fact. “In the 2018 appropriation year, the Senate should make provision for this institution to take off and provide services to the entire people of Nigeria. This will not only benefit the people of Benue South, but Nigerians.” Ekweremadu, while concluding, noted: “This bill has enjoyed sufficient support. We must appreciate the sponsor for this opportunity. This bill seeks to create a special university that will cater for the wellbeing of Nigerians. I can see lawmakers who left the chamber, but had to return because of the importance of this bill.” When Ekweremadu put it to a voice vote that the bill be read for the second time, it got a resounding ‘yes’. No lawmaker voted against it. The bill has been referred to the Senate committee on Tertiary Education. Mynd44 |
http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/buhari-apc-reveals-how-its-presidential.html The ruling All Progressives Congress has said it will abide by its constitution to resolve the controversy over whether or not President Muhammadu Buhari will be given an automatic ticket to contest the 2019 presidential election. Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar, made this known while speaking to reporters in Abuja, after an expanded meeting of the party’s National Working Committee with state governors and principal officers of the National Assembly, at the party’s National Secretariat, on Wednesday. Abubakar, who was flanked by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, and the Senate Majority Leader, Ahmed Lawan, was asked whether the party’s presidential ticket was open to all or restricted to the President. He said, “This meeting has not deliberated on that but the APC has a constitution and that is one of the items that was discussed – the amendment to the constitution of the APC in order to faithfully hold the convention in line with democratic principles, and we will abide by the provisions of our constitution.” Article 20 (iii) of the APC Constitution 2014 stipulates that “nomination of candidates for (f) President shall be through direct or indirect primary election to be conducted at the appropriate level.” Abubakar also faulted the reports that the President indicted governors for failing to meet their financial obligations to civil servants and pensioners. He said, “The President is concerned about the plight of the downtrodden and when you sit with him, he always talk about that. He did not direct any accusation at the governors because the governors have actually utilised the Federal Government’s intervention for the payment of the salary. “In Bauchi, I do not owe a dime in salary and pension. We are not begging for support but asking that what is due to us should be paid to us.” “You will recall what was canvassed in the media was that President Muhammadu Buhari had asked the World Bank to focus their attention on the North. “The issue came up for discussion at the meeting and they threw their weight behind Mr. President. And we would like to clarify in addition to all that had been said that the import of Mr. President’s message to the World Bank was in recognition of the particular devastation that Boko Haram has caused in the North. “Therefore, when the President asked the World Bank to focus its attention on the North, he had in mind, the necessary reconstruction that need to happen in that part of the country, especially in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states that have suffered as a result of the Boko Haram activities. “It was not therefore a statement intended to bifurcate any part of the country and show preference for any part of the country against the other. “So, the APC throws its weight completely behind the President’s position and we believe that as long as the North-East remains and continues to represent a dark spot in the human development indices for Nigeria, there is a need to direct special attention to that particular region of the country.”

http://www.titopeblog.com/2017/10/buhari-what-president-told-state.html President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday expressed concern over the non-payment of salaries by state governments, in spite of interventions by the Federal Government. Buhari assured that the Federal Government and state executives would work closely towards ameliorating the situation of workers across the country. Speaking with the delegation of Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, led by its Chairman, Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari, at the Presidential Villa Abuja, the president noted that the plight of workers in the states needed urgent attention as many could barely survive. According to Buhari, “How can anyone go to bed and sleep soundly when workers have not been paid their salaries for months. “I actually wonder how the workers feed their families, pay their rents and even pay school fees for their children.’’ The President told the governors that “two out of the three-pronged focus of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure the country and fight corruption had received some commendable reviews by the people”, noting that the “challenge in payment of salaries in states had taken a toll on the people.” “God has been merciful in hearing the prayers of his servants so the rainy season has been good, you can ask the Kebbi State governor on this, and our enormous food importation bill has gone down,’’ he said. Buhari also directed all government agencies to comply with the Treasury Single Account (TSA) in order to ensure more transparency and prudence in accounting for the revenues of the government and the sharing of entitlements with states. In his remark, Yari said the various interventions by the Federal Government, which include the bailouts, were judiciously utilized by the states, stressing that the governors inherited backlog of unpaid salaries and huge debts portfolios on assumption of office. “We are concerned with the situation in our states, and we are trying our best to manage the resources,’’ he said. Yari noted that the bailout funds, and part of the fallout from the London-Paris Club that had been received by the states, were properly expended to alleviate the plight of workers, but more had to be done. The NGF chairman commended the efforts of the President in improving the economy, assuring that the states would continue working with the Federal Government to improve the livelihood of workers and all Nigerians.
