Of all the training pix of the falcons I've seen, no single smile. That loss to SA has really hit them, and I hope it hits them back to life.

I won't go as far as Alaba. Nnadozie catches that ball.

Seriously u want us to play Rita Chikwelu again? I would play Ajibade and Okobi but there is no single DM on this team at least not that I have seen.
Honestly, I watched that goal more than once and Nnadozie will catch that ball all day. Oluehi's reading of the situation was poor.
My team for tomorrow:

Nnadozie
Ikidi Ohale Ebi Ebere

Ayinde

Okobi

Ordega Ajibade

Ihezuo Oshoala

This will ensure enough supply to the front players. We may look light on midfield, but defensive discipline shown on Sunday is going to ensure the team defend in mass when needed. Moreso, I think this team puts less pressure on Ikidi and Ebere going forward. This will help defensive balance.
Also, I will nominate Ajibade as set piece taker.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 5:23pm On Nov 19, 2018
Dust settled, now I want to try analyse the match. The good, the bad, the ugly.

The good
1. Rashidat Ajibade. On this forum, I noted that her best position was to play as a 10. She was superb when she had the ball and her movement allowed Oparanozie and Oshoala space up front. She is a confirmed starter in that team for me. She is developing well and physically can compete.
2. Defensive improvement. I know this is not big, but I noticed some improvement in the defensive organisation. SA caught us on counter attack once, and punished us for it. The rear guards were anticipating the moves well and cutting it out.
3. Lastly, Oshoala still has it. When she was on the ball, she was near unplayable, but she was strolling round the pitch like a boss. Special mention to Ohale. Solid at the back and covering where needed.

The bad
1. Inadequate technical input: Thomas Dennerby is not a competitive coach. He hasnt shown the hunger needed to coach a country like Nigeria. He simply doesnt understand us. I have been upset with his perception of our team. He seems to be ready to drag us down in order to make an impact. I dont think Dennerby can take us anywhere, unless he steps up big time. His team had no offensive pattern yesterday. He was more adapting the team to cope with South Africa than actually playing to the team's strength.
At the end of the match, his utterances shows the typical carefree foreigner who doesnt feel the urgency that such result brings. He will lose the dressing room faster than he imagined.
2. Team discipline and aura is bad. I looked at our preparation for last AWCON and it was very identical in terms of time and team friendlies. What did Omagbemi do differently? She instilled discipline in the team. These ladies played yesterday with no pressure at all. It is as if the coach had normalised failure so much the girls didnt know what it meant. The coach himself didnt show urgency with his subs.
3. Poor Sub: The biggest sign of a bad coach is in his substitutions. Ajibade was first removed for Okobi in a like for like sub. This means the coach was happy with the game pattern, even though we werent threatening. Also, it was clear that Chikwelu was running low, but the coach would rather lazily remove Ajibade for Okobi.
Other subs are Amarachi Okonkwo for Chikwelu, another like for like.
The most worrisome sub is Anam Imo for Ordega. This is a sign of a coach who either is out of touch or is simply nuts. Ihezuo was on the bench. Ihezuo would have replaced Oparanozie as early as 50 minutes if the coach really wanted a win. Its as if he planned to draw the game.
4. Goal keeping. I still insist Nnadozie is a better goalie than the one we have playing. It seems to me that the coaches are not playing the best ones.

The UGLY
1. Oparanozie was piss poor! Gosh. She was just not ready. Playing 90 minutes was criminal and the coach should be ashamed. For us to beat Zambia, she needs to start on the bench and Ihezuo starts in her place.
2. Chikwelu is struggling and should be dropped.
3. Set pieces were just being wasted up and down.

Zambia 4-0 Equatorial Guinea
They play quick decisive football. The type we thought Mr Dennerby promised. I'm really afraid we might be out by an embarassing scoreline on Wedsday.

BascoVanVeli:
I won't be surprised to see the same team out there and I don't think we have up to 4 good midfielders on this team. I would start Ajibade and Okobi because they will take care of the ball better than what we saw. The players were either forcing take ons or kicking hopeless long balls. This was one of the worst matches I have ever watched.
Our only hope is for the players to come together and play to their best. The coach is a typical non chalant Swede who is happy with a draw. Imagine Dennerby saying after the match that a draw was a fair result because possesion was 50-50. I think things will get worse with this coach, and already, I'm losing hope of world cup 2019 qualification. We dont look likely.

Just saw Zambia score against Eq Guinea. I dont see where our win is going to come from now. Honestly.
BusinessRe: How Old Were You When You Made Your First Million?, And How? by olapluto(m): 8:05pm On Nov 18, 2018
Strange that most people in Nigeria making millions do not make it from production. Mostly through services, and this tells a story. Nigerian youths can and should be making millions once production becomes easier.

That coach must be mad if he believes he has a better RB than Ugo Njoku. Her crosses would have made a world of difference.
This match totally changed my opinion of the coaching crew. They seem to be really clueless. Best defensive midfielder left at home. Everything just looks off.

Next match, I'll start a 4 player midfield. If we dont know where we're going, we should know where we're coming from.

I will press charges on anyone who tells me that Chikwelu is a good player, in fact her and Ayinde were bums today. The coach did not start being poor today, he was exposed by France and even Okon.would have won WAFU with Rivers angels. I can't blame Oshoala because at least she created chances but I would have liked her to shoot on a couple occasions. Oparanozie should have been changed instead of Franny, she had a very bad day at office
I fully agree with you. We were terribly exposed, especially in the 2nd half. I think we should sack this coach immediately after AWCON. As a keen falcon follower, we've never been this bad. We are losing and still cannot find a shot on goal!! It is quite bad.
This is not our game. We usually go about our business together, but today, the team was isolated. The midfield was not connecting with the attack, and even, no crosses into the box.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 6:32pm On Nov 18, 2018
BascoVanVeli:
The coach is an ediot. They played outright rubbish
I must confess at this point, Omagbemi is much much better than this coach. We are not going to the world cup with this coach, thats certain. The attackers were better off staying at home. Oshoala needs a good talking to.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 6:30pm On Nov 18, 2018
So we lost. Our girls werent good at all. The only good thing about this match is that it exposed our coach. When he was selecting his team, I thought he had something in mind, not knowing he is anywhere belle face.
If you want to play 4-2-1-3, then let your players understand. Someone had to take the initiative for him.

Going forward, I think we will struggle a lot. Most likely we will be 3rd in our group if we continue like this. SA offered nothing and we just obliged. Oshoala and Oparanozie playing big girl football. If they are not bloody ready, then bench them and play others. We didnt have any shot on goal of not. Just playing around the box in hope.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 5:28pm On Nov 18, 2018
Half time, so far so good. We still the team to beat. Oshoala warming herself into the game. I see a 2-0 win here.
Defensively, we look a bit more solid. Midfield struggling to hold the game. Ajibade is balling sense. She sparks almost every attack.

okobi is a solid option on the bench then, she could come in for Rita.
l think playing Ajibade is also a good thing, she then becomes the attacking midfielder doing the pressing behind the front three.
If Ajibade does well today, she'll have found her best position. I think this is her natural position.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 2:36pm On Nov 18, 2018
Our starting 11. I'm really happy the coach will start Ajibade, but dropping Okobi is a big big thing. A new era.
Clear 4-2-1-3 formation. I hope Ajibade doesnt have todo defensive duties much today. All eyes on her.

How creative is Ajibade? We shall see.

SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 2:25pm On Nov 18, 2018
My expectation for today's match is a good win. I've watched the other matches and the technical level was below what I expected. I hope to see our girls control the game well and handle the SA girls well.

Only God knows how he gets his information.
I think it's an obvious mix of few info and guesstimations to remain relevant.
He comes across as a spox for BHTs and it's quite normal for him to at least portray them in positive lights so as to keep his info channel open.
His MO is simplistic. Hype BHT gains and make army gains seem minimal.

Cameroon is a very annoying team to play against ehn. Time wasters limited grin and they were so professional with it the Germans are so pissed one of their girls refused a handshake very rudely
Karma is a female dog. Germans and a lot of European teams rely heavily on referee favours. Kudos to Cameroon. Female football at world level is still like a cult.

Ngozi Ebere
Date of Birth: 5-8-1991 (27yrs)
Height: 1.72cm
Club: Barcelona FA, Cyprus.
AWCON appearances: (3) 2012, 2014, 2016.
Ngozi Ebere is one of the best Left back to have played for the Superfalcons. The overlapping Left back is full of energy and has the ability to deliver defence splitting pullout.
Among close watchers, the former Rivers Angel player is regarded as one of the most disciplined defenders in the country.

Strengths- Good freekick specialist, can combine her attacking and defensive duties well, confident on the ball and good in the air.

Weakness/es — A one legged player
Top player, disciplined and hard fighter. She should move to Sweden where the ladies play hard disciplined football. Barcelona not really helping, apart from champions league matches.

Chiamaka Nnadozie
Date of Birth: 18-12-2000 (17yrs)
Height: 1.79cm
Weight: 62kg
Club: Rivers Angel, Nigeria
AWCON Appearance: None
The Former Airtel U17 Competition Goalkeeper of the year is arguably the youngest and the most inform goalie in the team. However her critics claim that Nnadozie is still not ripe for the big stage after her exploit at the U20 Women World Cup. The 17yrs old goalkeeper bring some confidence between the sticks with her breathe taking saves, She is truly a goalkeeper for the future.

strength: Tall,Young and agile, Good in the air, sharp reflexes, full of confidence, excellent grip on the ball and can command her territory well.

weaknesses: She has inexperience working against her, Her Goalkicks are sometimes poor, Need encouragement.
These weaknesses are really not weaknesses. At her age, her goal kicks will be poor, but with Onome and Ohale receiving balls from her, she should be OK. I think she should be 1st choice. She is really good, better than the other 2.

You are right oh. I personally want to see the 10 heads that Cameroonian ladies have that could stop us from qualifying
The truth is that the NFF really didnt want the U17 girls to go to Uruguay. They really find it hard to pay for anything as relates female football. Our U17 were good enough to beat Cameroon, but the coach is a perpetual failure. There are many many good coaches, both male and female that can develop these girls. Development is key.
