meccuno: please define who a true lagosian is?' True Lagosians' are: Those praying for the good of Lagos state. They are those people that earnestly seek for the rapid development of the city into a mega city. They are the law abiding residents of the state i.e Yorubas, Hausa, Ijaws, etc. They are the indigenous people of Lagos state whether home or abroad. Now, if you are not 3 of the 4 mentioned above, u r not a true Lagosian |
berem: Am sure the anti oil theft equipment is one hungry militant who is looking for contract to protect pipelines. This country is a joke!! My sister, you funny die. Do you mean what the FG is purchasing for N15 Billion is a BIG anti oil theft equipment like Asari Dokubo. Na wa o. ![]() |
Pattey: Attack Dog 'Two', why don't you show how brilliant you are? He provided figures based on the post, why not make an attempt to discredit his mathematics? However daft your calculations may actually be. . . Prove your point against those figures!Over to you ( Talaka) taharqa: Question 1 If 16 is greater than 19 5 greater than 27 Prove that 3000 (Sure-P ghosts) X N10,000 = N13 Billion. Note: You are permitted to use the 'Jangularise theory'. (100 marks). You have to score 3% in order to pass ![]() |
A true Lagosian will love this idea. ![]() The benefits are so huge. Welldone my Gomina. |
It's now I understand what 'Crying More Than The Bereaved' means. |
To all doubting THOMASES, remember that ROME or DUBAI wasn't built In a day. No amount of negativity can stop us. Welldone my governor. We progressives are right behind you Sir. Eko o ni baje |
O'Palm Oil Good investment for both parties. Nice one. |
I've bookmarked this page. By God's grace, we'll revisit this topic in few months time and see 'how far'. What's the point of 'rehabilitating' a stadium only when the people complain or embarass the govt? What about building a maintenance culture? |
This is why I like Gbawe, Horus and Eko Ile. They'll always attach a link/source to their pictures. In as much as I'll like to believe these lapdogs sometimes, their high level of propaganda will not allow me to believe them without a credible source. Nigerians are wiser now. Gone are the days when they were being fooled with fake infrastructural developments on the pages of newspapers. 'Uche eyes dey red now' ![]() |
Only a MORALLY UPRIGHT leader can convene an SNC in Nigeria |
Things Fall Apart |
Addressing the 2nd plenary Assembly of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) in Otukpo Benue state yesterday, Senator Mark said the differences between the Federal Government and ASUU requires spiritual intervention in order to end the imbroglio.Spiritual intervention or financial intervention? Is this man for real? Why can can they take 'spiritual interventions' at the National Assembly instead of allocating billions of naira to themselves as salaries and allowances? God punish the devil. ![]() |
Chima Achu, said, “Shutting down private universities will not address the issue. NANS shouldn’t complicate the issue because their move will not change the Federal Government’s stance. Students should also note that in anarchy and violence, very little can be achieved.” ![]() |
@Onlyme07 I completely agree with you. It means we are on the same level. Pls don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against private unis. But my only concern is that of the dangerous trend going on in our society where poor people are beginning to do 'EVERYTHING POSSIBLE' to send their children to private unis. |
onlyme07: Ferme la bouche..My friend, I'm not a French so I don't understand what you write up there in quote. If you check again, you'll realise that I didn't mention Dangote or any private business man in my list above. I mentioned public servants like president, V.P, Govs, Senators, House Reps, Ministers etc. We elected these people to take care of our education system but what do we get back. They steal our commonwealth, impoverish Nigerian public universities by enriching private universities with money stolen from the public. And the most painful part is the 'systematic discrimination of public schools in Nigeria be it at primary, secondary or tertiary level. The impression that public students are inferior to their private counterparts must be stopped. The only slight advantage private institutions have over public institutions is that of good facilities and well paid lecturers. If our elected leaders can do the right things, by providing QUALITY education for our public institutions, there will be a level playing ground among Nigerian students. A situation where an Education minister sends his children to private schools both home and abroad must be stopped. What this means is that they themselves don't believe in the quality of our education. I was priviledged to study both home and abroad and to be honest, we need to invest more in our education. Infact, the reason why a lot of civil servants are corrupt is because of their children. Most civil servants are beginning to enrol their children in private universities because of strikes in public schools, even though they don't have the means. Because they just want to give their children good education, they'll turn to corruption and start to steal public money. As they say, if you can't beat them, you join them. But is this the way to go about it? |
MY assumptions after going through most comments above is that: 1) Most NLs that are against NANS threat are family members of the elites who can afford to send their children to private universities or maybe, 2) Most of them are just sympathetic with GEJ at the expense of Nigerian poor students or maybe, 3) Most of them don't really understand what 'Hell' it is, to be a University student in Nigeria or maybe, 4)These set of people don't realise that, David Mark, Tambuwal, OBJ, GEJ, Ameachi, OUK, Tinubu,Sambo, IBB, Fashola, NOI, SLS, Okorocha, Tony Anenih, all senators, govs, house reps, ministers, special advisers (SA) to president, SA to govs, commissioners, etc will never send their children to public universities, hence, no one cares if Poor public university students stay at home for 4years or not. 5) Finally, without disrespecting anyone here, I strongly believe most commentators on this topic are either secondary school drop-outs who are now into trading of some sort (hence the beafing of uni students) or perhaps, they are half-baked graduates who are govt paid agents like Beaf & co. Lastly, I strongly support ANYTHING that will put a final end to strikes in Nigeria universities. For those saying or thinking NANS threat is just an empty threat, remember, an Idle mind is the devil's workshop. If these guys are pushed to the wall, the middl east problem will be like a joke. Govt needs to do more for Education in Nigeria. No more mouth service.Enough is enough. |
Sincere 9gerian: Senseless post, full of contradictions.Maybe there was a 'traffic jam'. At least the travellers got enough 'fresh air' on board and enough opportunities to buy 'fresh gala' on the road or shall I say, railway track/line. |
Shine It: How can the election be between ACN and PDP when ACN is no more? Did ACN not cease to exist the moment it joined APC?My brother, the only thing that ceased to exist about ACN, CPC or ANPP is there name(i.e APC) and nothing more. If not, why are the likes of Fashola, Ngige, Adams Oshiomole and others that were elected under the platform of ACN, CPC & ANPP still in office? It is because they still have the people's mandate. |
datola: This is laudable and doable as it's been proved through a research conducted by education faculty of OAU, Ife years back. Thanks a lot. I find it very funny that most people believed that this is impossible. It's very, very possible. Are we saying the English/American medical doctors are better than their Chinese, German,French, Japanese and Russian counterparts just because they speak English? Or is it that, these other countries are inferior to the English just because they use their own medical terms in their own language to teach their students etc. Of course not. However, as Katsumoto suggested above, it's better for the Yoruba Languange to flow along with English language that already has an international status, as 'language of instruction'. This could take a century to achieve, but the end shall justify the means. This is what countries like Wales and Scotland (that are even part of the United Kingdom) are doing at the moment. |
Kai! These Yorubas are too smart. And I totally agree with the idea. With the way F.G keeps splitting the country into pieces, is a matter of time before every tribe lose its identity. This is already happening where Delta, Rivers Igbo man will say I'm a Niger-delta man, I'm not from the South-east, I'm from South-south. A Yoruba man from Ilorin in Kwara or Offa in Kogi etc will say, we're part of Arewa, some will say, we are part of South-west cos we are Yorubas. And if there children then ask the reason why they are part of the North, story will start. Too much confusion in this country. And this is not helping the kids. May God help us. |
This man is really shameless. Okay, assuming APC copied PDP's manisfesto, doesn't that mean their (PDP) manifesto has not been implemented for the past 13years they've been in power. They (PDP) promise stable security not knowing that, they meant Bokoharam, stable power means epileptic electricity, employment means high increase of youth unemloyment, war against corruption means pardon for Alams & national honour, increase food production means hunger for children, good quality education means ASUU strike, good health means every Nigerian will be able to travel to Germany like Madam PEJ for treatment etc etc |
Good idea. Ogbeni Rauf, well done. |
lehgzy01: Omg!!! Scam alert? Where is the picture and why can't u tell everyone that these uniform would be sold to all osun state primary and secondary school students? U said earlier that u have distributed tabs to every osun state senoir classses students which was a total lie........U aint deciving nigerians but yourself......keep on prasing urself mr governor........the dept of osun state is more than 300 billion just in 3 years.....is this democracy or crazydemo.......For your 'good' observation, you deserve a free school uniform from osun state. Well done |
wellmax: Commendable governance.First to like your comment. This should be the objective of any good leader but unfortunately...everyone wants to work in the civil service where 90% of civil servants have no business in the civil service. Welldone Gov. Aregbesola. Keep doing your thing |
PDP could be a 'dead meat' before 2015 with the way things are shaping. Until then, fingers crossed. |
98.5% Correct |
This is the type of news I want to be hearing about SE and Nigeria as a whole. An international airport in the SE will most definitely reduce the traffic pressure at MMIA Lagos. Welldone GEJ for this. |
'Every investment in the physical and social infrastructure is an advance for sustainable development. This is why serious governments at every stage of economic history find the money to put into infrastructural development' - Gov. Aregbesola Wow, thanks Sir Gbawe for sharing that above info. |
Gbawe: Great post and points. Bros, the irony is that impressive urban development/renewal is going on throughout virtually every populous City in African Nations that are being run decently. There is now a glut of private capital investment with Africa as its favourite destination for many reasons. Administrators need only focus on good governance (i.e infrastructure provision, favorable tax regimes, security et al) and most pupular Cities will gain impressive and modern PPP urban renemwal/regeneration schemes. Loving it personally. On point Sir. ![]() |
I would've gladly joined this association back in those days after my youth service if there was one. This is a very good association for all unemployed Nigerian graduates. “Alone you can do so little; together you can do so much” ― Helen Keller The problem is that, some people will still tribalise this wonderful idea. I'll do everything to support you guys. By the time you guys come together and bombard the national assembly everyday to protest, with the world watching live through the media, our leaders will do something. Enough is enough. |

Why can can they take 'spiritual interventions' at the National Assembly instead of allocating billions of naira to themselves as salaries and allowances? God punish the devil.
