JeSoul: Oga, I'd like to introduce you to the 21st century ![]() |
D'banj 'don talk am' say you don't have to make sense before you can make it as an entertainer...If you are not good, the likes of snoop dog, jay-z, Kanye West, Akon, Kelly Rowland etc will not even look at you twice....OOOOOOOOoSSSSSSSSSssseeeeeeeeeeeee https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QL3A7lUecyQ |
When Governor Fashola arrested an Army Colonel for driving against traffic in broad daylight in Lagos just few weeks ago, a lot of guys here on NL said a lot of bulls**t about him not respecting the army bla bla bla. Now, what do you all say about this? Are these the kind of people you show respect to? |

I just heard D'banj saying something like he he ho ho....he he ho ho while some people will do a single or even a whole album without any breakthrough. Well done Skibanj. |
So, if we follow some people's logic here, the NA has no business in anything that has to do with the economy or have no right to query Sanusi as long as the president approves whatever he does. Today he's introducing N5000 and you ask the NA to shut up and you people are calling Falana a fool. Tomorrow, if he decides to introduce N50,000 or N100,000 notes, don't come here crying like a smelling he-goat. And you all know GEJ will approve anything that comes from CBN. While our sister nation Ghana did (and still doing) everything possible to make their currency stronger against the US dollars, we (on the other hand) are doing everything that can have adverse effects on our currency. Ghana changed their 500,000 cedis note to 50 cedis thereby cancelling four zeros but with the same purchasing power. Why can't we do the same? Why are we now moving towards the road Ghana abandoned about 6years ago? Remember, Ghana started with 200 cedis, 1000Cedis 5000, 10000, 50000...............100000 and finally 500000 Cedis. Today, a Ghanian Cedi (GHS) is equivalent to N83. Which means our new N5000 note will not be more than 60 Ghanaian Cedis (i.e 5000/83). A US dollar is 1.9 Ghanaian Cedis. Why cant we do the same thing instead of turning our N5, N10, N20 and N50 to coins? Why can't we have 1kobo 2kobo 5kobo 10kobo 20kobo 50kobo N1 and N2 coins like britain that we are trying to copy. It's just a matter of making the purchasing power strong. It's all in the head. We can make 50kobo buy a commodity that cost N50 as at today. |
Nice. Just a matter of time before the likes of BA, KLM, AIRFRANCE comes in. |
lwkmd ![]() also, is 'garri' a censored word now?
Hmmm, no be me talk am o. I just dey pass... ![]() |
dadde: have u taken your daily dose today? obviously not. because if not you will not be making the statement you are making.Engineering Academy makes ekiti a force to recon with.Dude, I hope you are not mistaken me for one of your relatives? I don't think I know you! |
Ekiti where are your accusers? Are they gone? |
@ chino11, I know you don't have a single beggar in your state coz your state is the best state in Nigeria. Ain't you very lucky to have the best governor in Nigeria. Moreover, unlike other states, you don't have to worry about giving alms to beggars as there are none in your state. However, can you pls name just one DEVELOPED (not undeveloped) country in the world that has no beggars, apart from your village/town/state? Thanks |
The total cost of building this project in Ekiti is not enough to get a land in Lagos or Abuja not to talk of other factors. Secondly, the fastest way to develop an area like Ekiti is to establish a world class tertiary institutions. Within few days of opening the school, you will see all sorts of businesses cropping up around the area even if it is in the jungle. Landed properties will appreciate. Within a short period of time, even people from neighbouring african countries that normally travel to Samsung engineering schools in South Korea, Japan, China, Singapore,Malaysia etc will be coming to Ekiti coz of its proximity. In no time, the state will be on the world map & I think the Ekiti state gov knows this. |
Na JEALOUSY dey worry most of una. So, you people think a company like samsung will just wake up one day and decide to invest their milion of $$$$$s by establishing an engineering school in Ekiti state without getting anything back. These guys can see what your tribalistic eyes cannot see in Ekiti. I bet your governors wish they can woo samsung for this type of project.Anyway, time will tell. |

No surprise. Afterall, he debated himself pre-presidential election and scored good points against himself. |
THERE IS NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE. 1 + 1 = 2 |
Naija, na only mouth we get. Tic tac tic tac tic tac - Igbo leaders {SOUTH-EAST} endorsed GEJ for 2nd term Tic tac tic tac tic tac - SOUTH-SOUTH leaders endorsed GEJ for 2nd term Tic tac tic tac tic tac - ? Just two more regions more for endorsement out of the remaining four regions {with enough $$$$$$$ in the national reserve} and come 2015, we'll start singing the same old song till 2019. God bless America sorry, I meant Nigeria. |
I everytime I see the hatred been displayed by some people on NL. Are you people for real? What on earth will make me to hate an Igbo man on the street, when I grew up with Igbos and Urhobos? Till today, we still call each other even thousands of miles apart from each others. I didn't know how accommodating the Hausas were until I served (NYSC) in Kaduna in a town called Saminaka just 45 minutes drive to Jos, Plateau. I had to forgo a very good banking job in Lagos after the first three weeks just to learn more about this tribe and I never regretted coz it changed my view about them. Yes, we all have our differences and we've hurt eachothers in the past, but for how long are we going to dwell in the past like our fathers and forefathers did? I think some people just need to grow up on this forum, seriously. I can't understand why someone will be happy and make jokes about millions of children and women that died during the civil war. Likewise, I don't understand why someone will ask for the extermination of another tribe/ethnic group. I think it's high time we stop all these foolish back and forth rubbish. If you go to UK, US or even Ghana, and they ask you at the point of entry, say airport, where you are from, will you say Biafra Republic or Arewa Republic or Oodua Republic or Ijaw Republic etc? No, No matter how much you hate Nigeria you will say you are from Nigeria meaning you are a Nigerian first before any other thing. Whether you like it or not. Haven't said all that, this does not mean I also believe in Nigeria. But, I think we just need to work together especially as Southerners in order to achieve our collective objectives. Deep down, we are fighting for the same thing but in different ways thereby giving momentum to the other party ( not political party). |
If Awo is alive today, he will be so proud of Tinubu at least for rescuing the SW from the jaw of the Satanic party thereby continuing from where he (Awo) stopped. Imagine if the SW is still been ruled by the likes of Alao Akala, Gbenga Daniels, Oyinlola etc. |
Some northern leaders are just been insincere by saying the present type of govt was what their founding fathers fought for. Every sincere person knows the truth. At least, the records are there for everyone to see. We all know about the northern region, eastern region, western region & Lagos as the federal capital. Before crude oil, we only know of the groundnut pyramid & livestock esp cattle rearing from the north, palm oil, fishing & coal from the eastern region, cocoa & rubber from the western region, and Lagos, the FCT at the time, has the best & busiest seaport in the whole of west africa. In a nutshell, everything was going smoothly. Every region growing at is own pace. There is accountability, justice, peace & unity. No corruption, no indiscipline, almost no crime. There is tolerance be it religious, tribe, language, ethnic etc. The Naira was stronger than the US dollars and at par with the British pound sterling. Though there were some challenges here and there, yet our economy flourishes with abundant food. Then came the discovery of crude oil, then military coup, then civil war and the rest like they say, is history. |
If the Southern leaders are truly sincere & serious about regional autonomy, all what they (i.e SE,SS & SW) have to do is to first show they are tired of the present type of governance and they should demand for a return to regional type of govt(afterall that was the key factor that lead to the formation of Nigeria before the military intrusion ) or else, the south will boycott the 2015 general election. The problem is, will the greedy southern politicians agreed to let go of their loot? So for me, the problem is not about the north but the readiness of the south. |
All those in support of reduction of price of garri for the poor say 'Aye'! If you are not in support also say 'Aye'. The 'Aye' have it. |
@OP, From your source, did you read the part where Tinubu and Mitchelle Obama were kissing right there in the White house while Obama was clapping for them. And if you turn to the 3rd page of the same magazine, you will see where Tinubu refer to you as a GEJ A*S*S WIPER & M**DER F**KER. Can you see it? |
This is a good move & a welcome development. Though we have our internal problems, it is wrong to continue to allow these so called 'western countries' to treat us like crap just bcoz you want to visit their country. I know it doesn't take more than 3days for Canadian citizens to get Nigerian visas & 99% of them will be granted. So why 45-60days in the case of Nigeria when 99% of them will be denied anyway? |
One sure thing is that, they can all claim back every pound they've spent from the Uni. As they still have valid student visa, they can transfer to another Uni but unfortunately, most Uni have stopped collecting applications. Hope they find a solution asap |
olivertwist: So, according to Mr. Eze, Jonathan should rule from 2011-2019 then, an Hausa/Fulani man from 2019-2027, then an Igbo man from 2027-2035, then a Yoruba man from 2035-2043, then may be a SS man...HmmmProvided there's still a country called Nigeria then, how is this Mr. Eze so sure that the Hausa/Fulani man will hand over power to an Igbo man on a platter of gold and not a Yoruba or SS man. He's gat to learn politics 101 IMO. |
So, according to Mr. Eze, Jonathan should rule from 2011-2019 then, an Hausa/Fulani man from 2019-2027, then an Igbo man from 2027-2035, then a Yoruba man from 2035-2043, then may be a SS man...Hmmm So, in other words, Mr. Eze was saying an Igbo man will not become Nigeria president for the next 15years. I SMH. |
@Schorlbone, It is not the duty of the governors to provide SECURITY for their people, at least in the Nigerian context. The police, army, navy, airforce, customs, sss, frsc and other security agencies are controlled by one person, the president. So, he alone has all the resources to tackle BH. This is why we are clamouring for state police. For Buhari, he needs to learn to differentiate btw politics and religion as a leader. |
nwanne, if you live in Nigeria and in Abuja in particular, and are additionally well connected politically, you wouldn't make this kind of a dumb comment. The political class is in mourning as we speak because most had faith in Nnaji who has proved that he knows what it takes to resolve oour power problem. sambo was so shocked and surprised that he walked Nnaji out of the meeting, which he (sambo) chaired. You can dispute this fact all you want, but it is no longer news throughout Abuja. ngwanu, use your peanut sized brain and explain to me, the rational for Nnaji's abrupt exit. Both GEJ and Nnaji blind sighted Sambo, who rightfully took the right steps to return credibility to the system. You people should be ashamed of youselves for allowing tribalism and bigotry to affect your better judgements.
Hmmn! 1+ 1 = 2. There is no smoke without fire. I'm still shocked at the spontaneous way by which GEJ accepted the resignation of the best minister in his cabinet. I won't be surprised if Mr. Barth Nnaji becomes the Minister of Petroleum in few weeks time. For now, I rest my case. |
Billyonaire: Am no hypocrite. I say it the way it is. When I was singing praises of GEJ, you were not using my political telescope. I was singing the praises because I could see tomorrow and by reason of tomorrow. Now, you have started applying into the GEJ 40 Laptop crew as you call it. GEJ will put State Police in place before leaving office in 2019. State police, is excellent. If politicians like, make dem use am kill themselves. Who loves Politicians anyone. The lesser their number the better for Nigeria. Apart from GEJ, I careless about Politics. He remains my hero, and remains the only President I have ever voted for.LOL @ GEJ & 2019. Just pray he finds a solution to BH & Corruption asap.If not, you'll all be jobless by December 31, 2012. You can quote me. |
