Some people need to understand that there's a difference between State of Origin & Place of Birth. The benefits accrue to both are also different, at least in the Nigerian context. For instance, my parents are from Abia, I cannot say my state of origin is Borno just bcoz I was born in Maiduguri. Borno is just my place of birth, Abia state is my state of origin where I can claim all Abia indegene rights. But not Borno except there's a constitution change 2moro. |
The real lagosians know themselves. They don't have to make noise. They know their history & their culture. If you are a true Lagosian, you'll be surprised that even your Oba {king} or one of his chiefs will know your father just by mentioning your surname & family house. Enough said. |

Ndoma-Egba said, Tinubu’s suggestion runs contrary to the logic of bicameral legislature. So in other words, because N150 Billion is a fraction of what has been looted under the disguise of fuel subsidy then, it is right for you to steal as much as you can. The more fuel subsidy looted, the more money for the National Assembly to look the other way. Averagely, each senator (109) and member of house of reps (360) will get, N150,000,000,000/469= N320,000,000 per year for doing absolutely nothing, not even preventing the N2 Trillion subsidy fuel corruption. SMH. Useless bastards. |
afam4eva: What's their business with what goes on inside a school. Shouldn't it be the duty of the universities to determine whether or not they want their students to resit? I think some people are taking lectures from Fashola of Lagos. This law is a draconian law that does not sit well with ![]() |
.....to the point of the post, it should be expected that Christians will react in outrage that the image of Jesus was tarnished by such a blasphemous revelation. The revelation was made by followers of Jesus. Who should this outrage be directed against? Muslims do not riot and go wild when one of their own blaspheme against Mohammed. Its only when its done by non-muslims that they react this way. In your family if your sister or brother insults your parent it is less offensive than when an neighbor insults your parents.......and you show your displeasure to the neighbor, right? This behavior is valid for all of mankind. America may not go on rampage for Jesus but they surw went wild when France refused to support Bush in attacking Iraq. They brought out french wine and wasted them on streets and renamed french fries to freedom fries. So what im saying is this behavioral pattern of becoming enraged when something we hold dear in our hearts is violated is a human trait, it is human nature to do so. What is sacred to you may not be sacred to me......what is patriotism ti me may not be a symbil if patriotism to you. We live and die by ideologies......it is human nature.
Pls,I didn't really get the bolded part. A neighbour saw you insulting your parents and did same to them and you're annoyed? You treat your parents like crap but you want your friends to treat them like diamonds. Helloooooooo ![]() |
gboss4sure: I know for sure that had it been GEJ that made this law all you youroba guys would have been criticing him as clueless but as far as its Fashola it is good even when the penalty of the law is against the law of the land.My friend, we are talking about driving on the wrong side of the road i.e facing upcoming vehicles in a one way road. Do you drive at all? Pls, forget all these talk about GEJ. We all can see how he's handling the DANA aviations disaster. It takes a very tough person to make a tough decision and stand by it. How can a federal minister said the committee they set up made a mistake by revoking DANA aviations operating license just few months after the disaster, when the family of the victims are still mourning their loved ones. We all know the minister has been bribed one way or the other. So, how do you want us to take GEJ serious. I bet you, GEJ cannot make this type of laws we are seeing in Lagos because he himself cannot abide by it. Have you seen the first lady visit to Lagos before? |
I think making lawbreakers pay enormous fees is perfectly fine. But confiscating the property outright...I mean, what if it is a $100,000 vehicle. Do I really deserve to lose that car because I went over the speed limit slightly, for example? The punishment needs to fit the crime, not vastly exceed it.
It's like you place more value on your car than the life of other road users. |
Eko Ile: Killing other people because you drove on the wrong side of the road is not only extreme, its fatal and even your fine and vehicle can not replace the lives lost. Saying any law is extreme is really pointless especially when the consequence of that law is known to you and you thumbed your finger at that law anyways. You lose your car because you are a law breaker, not because of some extreme law. There is nothing more extreme than a lawless society where people live like jungle animals and intentionally disobey every law insight.Thank you. |
'DO IN ROME AS ROMANS DO' If you come to Lagos from any part of Nigeria, obey Lagos state traffic rules and whenever you go back to your different states, continue to break the traffic rules. Is this too hard for anyone to comprehend? |
And someone still dare to defend the indefensible... Wickedness... |
You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. Yorubas are their own enemies. Bad governance, we complain, good governance we complain, what else do we want this Tinubu to do. He rescued SW from the grip of PDP, if he didn't care for the SW people, he could've done away with the likes of Fashola and bring in the likes of Akalas and nothing will happen, but he didn't. Why can't we for once look at the message and not the messanger. Tinubu call for state police, No way. Tinubu call for SNC, No way. Tinubu call for new revenue formula, No way. Tinubu calls for the privatization of Power, No way...and what is GEJ doing now? Tinubu wants INEC to be the one to elect state resident electoral officers, No way. Tinubu calls for the scrap of the senate, not minding the fact that it'll affect his wife, No way. Tinubu calls for equity and fairness in election, No way. Tinubu calls for regional autonomy, No way. Tinubu calls for creation of more local govts in Lagos state, No way. Tinubu calls for constitutional review, no way. “The mistake of 1914 has come to light. The new estate called Nigeria should be an estate from our great grand father, Othman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We must use the minority in the North as willing tools, and the South as conquered territories and never allow them to have control of their future.” - Alhaji Ahmadu Bello. Reacting to the 1914 amalgamation by the British. This is why I laugh whenever I hear ignorant people say power is in the south because of a figure head president that can be wasted at anytime. Tinubu knew what he was saying but ignorant people will not understand. He knows that real power lies in the hands of the northerners. From presidency, to senate, to HOR, to military, police, civil service, economy. We are always quick to refer to US and UK upper and lower legislative systems but are we not just practising their system in theory? SMH |
If all PDP can get out of their multi-billion naira primaries are the likes of Akala, OGD, Yaradua, OBJ, Alamesiagha,James Ibori, GEJ etc, then ACN & Tinubu should pls continue to IMPOSE the likes of Amosun {FCA}, Fashola {SAN}, Akeredolu{SAN}, Aregbesola {Engr.} etc on us , at least for now. Imagine the billions of $$$$ from our reserve we wasted just to get GEJ, even America didn't spent that much to get Obama. May God help us. |
Assuming Bakassi was the only oil-producing area in Nigeria in 2002, would they{FG} have conceded it to Cameroun so easily? With the new facts emerging, a good govt will do everything possible to appeal at least to show that they care for the Bakassi people who will rather be Nigerians than Camerouns. I think the Bakassi people should just accept their fate and move on instead of forcing their way back to Nigeria that doesn't seem to care whether they are in or out. |
Bla bla bla bla. Co*ck & Bull story. As if we didn't hear these type of craps last year. Just close your dirty stinking corrupt mouth, enjoy your loot peacefully while it lasted & stop taking us all for fools. IDIOTA |
The same people that lead the fuel subsidy protest were the same people that fought against the cabal when GEJ was kept under Turai's bed. **** How 'forgetful' some people can be. Now, criminals like Bode George etc are the ones getting National Honours from GEJ while the true democrats are been labelled 'political terrorists. SMH. Time will tell. |
At a minimum, maclatunji should be made the junior mod of the islam forum, stripped of his ability to ban people and hide posts. Jarus for the most part is a reasonable fellow, without maclatunji's fascist tendencies.
I've never posted anything on the 'islam for muslims only' forum on NL until I saw a topic on the front page. I replied a muslim guy who said something like he can't watch while Mohammed is being ridiculed, and that he had to do 'something'. I asked what he meant by ' do something', whether it means killing his non-muslim neighbours? And that was my crime. The Murderator mr. Maclatunji hide my post and I was banned from posting on that said thread. Anyway, my best moderators are Jarus and Mukina (maybe coz she's an arsenal fan) ![]() |
Gbawe: Thanks my brother. I try as much as possible to avoid "unneccasary argument" but we are always confronted with the reality of life and how all of us have to share our space with uncouthness and imbecility. weakness or retreating is not an option because that only encourages thosed who are steeped in bigotry, prejudice and a vacuous and evil need to be aggresive towards others without provocation. Sometimes you have to directly take on ill-trained 'agberos' and 'cave' folks so that those 'ill' individual understand your civility does not stem from weakness.Hmmmmm...I feel you Sir. In other words, you mean the Leopards's stalk for his prey should not be mistaken for fear or cowardice. Agba . |
Thanks Sir Gbawe for the wonderful pictures. At least, pictures don't lie. Keep doing your thing and pls try to avoid unneccessary arguments even though it's a very hard thing to do sometimes. Thanks |
Even Fashola's critics on NL are beginning to take him for his word. They've realised that Fashola is not a joker or a comedian. When he says something, he backs it up with action. That's the number 1 sign of a very good leader. Note: This is not a total smoking ban. There'll be designated areas for smoking like it's done in UK & some other cities. |
I don't know what other fact you want to be disputed (in your words) if not the governor of Anambra state saying the oil blocs serving Orient refinery are all domiciled in Anambra state. your jealousy and ignorance will never delete that fact
******* My friend, you are very funny . LOL @ Jealousy. If I'm jealous of your Oyel, what do you want Rivers, Delta, Edo, Ondo etc to say. Maybe I'm ignorant about the whole dispute like you said but one thing I'm sure of is that IF this problem is not handled with all seriousness it deserves by the FG asap, we might be seeing another version of MEND in the making... The National Boundary Commission should intervene asap coz things can easily degenerates if care is not taken. Everything must be laid bare by parties involved. {OIL} MONEY THEY SAY,IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL. |
billante: You guys should stop being childish for once and look at dis issue critical and mature! Even obi is being childish about this!********** These makes sense to me. And from what I've heard and read from both parties, no one is disputing the above facts. However, the big QUESTIONS are: 1} How will Kogi state be compensated for the oil been taken from their state? 2} What makes a state an oil producing state? Is it by building a refinery or by having oil deposits? |
The National DIShonour Awardees deserves to be treated better by the FG irrespective of their status as 'Billyonaires' like Beaf. |
With what I've read on this thread, I can say we have 3 types of muslims: 1. Non-violent muslims e.g the OP, Mr. bilms 2. Violent muslims e.g the killers of the US ambassor & Boko Haram. 3. Maclatunji (neither 1 nor 2). |
2025? That's too close now. Can't they delay it till 2075 when they are all dead. We've never finished enjoying 36hours of uninterrupted power supply a day in my area and now they want to give us adequate water supply by 2025. This is indeed a very good fresh air. |
***Breaking news*** Beaf admitted in Germany hospital and diagnosed with a new disease known as 'DECEPTO-PROPAGANDO-LIARIC DISEASE'. However, we are told that, it is not a life threatening disease. The German doctors only need to clean his brain with H2SO4 liquid and he will be fine. |
Gbawe:Bu ha ha ha ha ...LWKMD |
Rumour has it that Beaf is currently on a trip to Germany probably to rest because of NL stress caused by the likes of Gbawe, Demdem etc. However, we are yet to get any feedback from our German correspondent about the latest development and what Beaf's mission in Germany truly is. Stay on this thread for more info. |
utch: It seemed like a very funny compilation. No need shedding innocent blood over this when the movie producer is safe in the US. ![]() |
