When I saw the topic I asked, why Portugal again? But when I took my time to read the article, I understand better - their reasons for choosing Portugal. Note: The coach said, it's only the home-based players that will be camping in Portugal while ALL of the players(home & foreign based) will camp in one of the countries very close to S.Africa, preferably Zimbabwe. WHY PORTUGAL? 1. The Adidas training centre in Portugal has one of the best training facilities in the world. 2. These trip to Portugal will expose our home-based players to good training facilities, latest football techniques & top trainers which some of them has never seen in their lives before. So, our home-based players won't be seeing these facilities for the first time by the time they get to S.Africa. 3. The trip to Portugal will change their mentality (esp those that haven't travelled out of Naija before) about being inferior to others. 4. Imagine if we camp in Togo, the kind of friendly games with Togolese local clubs will be pointless coz 'football wise', they are inferior to us. They look up unto us.We can't say the same for Portugal. They are superior to us in football technically not individually. Lastly, I've not been following the Nigerian Premier League for a while now but I still believe we have some of the best young players in the world. Therefore, I'll like to see a blend of the home & foreign based players in SA. If Zambia can win with mostly local players then, YES WE CAN. |
When are we going to start reasoning beyond politics in things that directly affect us as a people? We are talking about how we can effectively secure our community through state policing & all some people can think of is that, governors will use state police power to win elections. Let's agree for once that, this will be the case! So, should people's LIVES be left in the hands of criminals just coz we don't want governors to use the police to win elections? WHY DO SOME PEOPLE STILL THINK LIKE THIS IN THIS 21ST CENTURY? What happenned in ALUU Community is enough evidence to show that, the FG cannot secure the entire Country. FG has no business policing the entire country. GEJ should just allow all the 36 state governors to secure their states as they are the true Chief Security Officers(CSO) of their states as stated in the Nigerian Constitution.GEJ can't know the states better than the state governors. Finally, with state police, BOKO HARAM will be EXTERMINATED in the north. The northern governors know who sponsors Boko Haram but they are POWERLESS as they don't control the Police (as stated by Gov. Aregbesola). The govs are just CSO of their states on paper but not in REALITY. |
Gbawe: Why don't you quote folks directly, as I do here, if you have something to say in response to what others have said? Your snide remarks don't wash with me guy because I don't know when being British now amount to a lack of objectivity. If anything, you are the only one who lacks objectivity. Badly for that manner. Who is actually insulting the game of Tennis if not you?******** GBAAAAAM! |

ballabriggs: So with deregulation, in Telecoms and the high demand for high-speed internet, why are the operators yet to lay their fibre optic lines for high-speed internet across Nigeria now?GBAM |
Joey82: what is the essence of deregulation if govt will still be saddled with the responsibility of building refineries. My brother, if I get $1 for everytime I hear the bolded word, by now, I'll be a multi-billionaire (not billyonaire) |
He (Sanusi) noted that the amount in the ECA was $8 billion as at October 3 and had been projected to grow to $10 billion by the end of this year.If the ECA had been projected to grow by $2 billion between October-December, 2012 then, i) these excess money must directly go towards building a refinery that can cater for at least 50% of our daily need and ii)if fuel subsidy is removed, there shouldn't be any more fuel increase for at least the next 2years until we build a new refinery. |
Still not satisfied with the way the students in the public primary and secondary schools are kitted, the government has decided to sew standard uniform for the students in a unique way, by using the style that will promote the Yoruba culture and the local producer of Adire. For the elementary school, the design reflects Adire alone, for the middle school, it reflects Adire with state crest on it, while for the high school, it is Adire, combined with plain fabric. The representatives of all the existing religions, PTA, students and other stakeholders in the state were in the committee that chose the designs of the proposed uniform.I really love this part. Thanks Sir Gbawe. This policy alone can create thousands of jobs for local Adire fabric manufacturers. A lot of them will have no choice than to go back into the trade especially now that there is a huge demand. Well done Gov. Aregbesola ![]() |
Gbawe: Guy, don't flatter yourself. I don't bother with folks like you because there is absolutely nothing to be gained talking to you. Have a nice day. ![]() |
‘80% of accidents in Lagos linked to okada’ SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 BY RASHEED BISIRIYU Over 80 per cent of road accidents recorded in Lagos State have a link with motorcycles, the state government has said. The Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaiye, stated this in Lagos at a stakeholders’ forum on the new traffic law organised for local government officials. Ipaiye, who spoke through Mr. Olanrewaju Akinsola, said the figure was the outcome of a recent research conducted by the Ministry of Health. He also said about 25 per cent of crimes committed in the state were aided by commercial motorcycle operators otherwise called okada riders. The commissioner said no responsible government would continue to watch the rising spate of robberies being caused by the okada operators. He stated that the state government was concerned about the situation, hence its decision to enact the traffic law. According to him, the law is meant to regulate commercial motorcycle business and also to sanitise the public transport system in the state. He noted that the traffic law was not entirely new, recalling that it was first enacted in 1949 to serve only about 300,000 people in the state. He said the state’s population is currently 18 million. The commissioner stressed that the old traffic law, having been amended six times, needed to be fine-tuned in line with the current situation. “When a law has been amended several times, there are bound to be issues of ambiguity,” he said. Beside security, he said that the new law would also address issues of standard, safety and sanity. He also spoke on the use of motorcycles by courier service companies. He said only approved motorbikes, with 200cc engines, would be allowed, just as he added that the riders must use the right number plate, attach mail cabin and carry no passengers on their bikes. “You will also apply to the commissioner for a permit,” he said. The commissioner explained that the 200cc engine was approved based on the recommendation of experts that that was the minimum engine capacity for commuting. Although he said the government did not outlaw the operation of commercial motorcycles, he warned that the business must be done in accordance with the law. Ipaye also said no branding of commercial vehicles operating in the state would be allowed outside the approved state colour. Rearing of animals on the road, hawking in the traffic, begging and washing of vehicles have now been banned, he said. He added that selling of alcoholic drink and herbal concoction would no longer be allowed within the 100 metres of any bus stop and motor park. |
a US president would not come on air and start sharing money like a cooperative society.. The decision is a good one..no doubt! but its not in correlation with the purpose/target
The bolded part is very funny ![]() However, I agreed with the president sharing the fund on air. You know Naija now. If the president just said, I've released N250 Billion naira to Nema, states and other agencies for the flood victims, we all know that probably, only 10% of that fund will get to the final destinations. But now, with this announcement, the NEMA chairman/head knows exactly what is being paid into their account i.e N1.1 Billion and knows where to go if he received less than that. |
bashr8: some people can claim that what happened was right(Like you claim) while some can claim that is was wrong but what achebe did is just state what happened. if the case were reversed, they war would not have continued cus igbos will have seen it as an opportunity to finally leave nigeria from the dominance of the north. Thanks for your sincerety. |
Dede1: Why should telling the plain truth turned into controversy by certain moronic Nigerians? Awolowo had mercurially defended his policy of starvation as a weapon of war in several interviews he conducted. He even went further to elaborate by stating it was foolhardy to feed your enemy to be strong so as to continue fighting and prolonging the war.In as much as we all regret the events that happened during the avoidable 1967 civil war, let's imagine for a second that reverse is the case during the civil war, in other words, the power to starve Nigerians lies in the hand of Biafrans. Would Ojukwu and his other Biafra warlords have been kind enough not to use starvation against Nigeria as a weapon of war? Would they have continued to feed their perceived enemy (Nigeria) to be strong so as to continue fighting Biafra and thereby prolonging the war? |
musKeeto: A fool like ur fada abi..My friend, you'll continue to make a fool of yourself if you think that I'll come down to your gutter level by reciprocating your abuse of my father. If I respect my father a lot, why should I disrespect other people's father in a faceless forum. I have no business with your father or you in the first place so,the floor is all yours, I take a bow. |

PROJECT 'AFA-O-AFA' ![]() AMOSUN FASHOLA AJIMOBI OSHIOMOLE AKEREDOLU FAYEMI AREGBESOLA |
toba: can someone tell me what bola ahmed Tinubu did in 8 years if being the governor of Lagos state? this is fashola's 5th year in office and he has done so much already with more to comeMy brother, take it or leave it, you know, without Tinubu, there won't be Oshiomole, Fashola, Amosun, Aregbesola, Fayemi and Ajimobi. And if these governors don't exist then, no one will be talking about their achievements in the first place. E.g Without Tinubu, there's no Fashola which equals to, no Ikoyi bridge (the first in West and East Africa. So give credit to who credit is due |
omowolewa: This is good men!******* I just asked my helicopter pilot to go get aerial view & full pictures of the bridge for NLs to see as soon as he finish eating his cassava bread & .... But Fashola should slow down o or else JEALOUSY (slow poison) will kill all bad belle people finish for NL and we don't want that now coz we are just starting. Eko o ni baje IJN |
That you both are sleeping with the same dog says a lot about you. And what makes you think she's only sleeping with you guys. Believe me, a girl like that is probably sleeping with every dic(k), tom & harry on the street. Why can't you go out there & get yourselves at least, a 'decent' girl that you can call your own. Rubbish. Next. |
anyway, they should thank their stars say the masquerade no dey house... ![]() |
Bakassi people will make the greatest mistake of their lives IF they wait for GEJ before they appeal the ICJ 2002 decision. With the help of their governor (Cross River) and new facts, they should get the best lawyers in the world and appeal asap.Their destiny is now in their own hands.Even if you lose the appeal, it'll be on records for the generations unborn that, you fight to the end. Don't wait for GEJ coz he doesn't even see you as Nigerians anymore. |
'I can't solve Nigeria problem alone' - GEJ But you are eating N1 Billion Cassava Bread alone. You single-handedly increased fuel price. You sent army to kill Nigerians who dared to protest the fuel increase. You recently said you don't give a damn when asked to declare your assets. Mr President, you better get down to business or else .... |
Nig 2 vs Col 0 |
I'm really impressed with the way our girls are playing...Just like Barca |
I'm so f**king angry right now.Why are these people judging GEJ by his COW BOY hat. At least he deserved to be listened to. They didn't even bother to hear his achievements regarding Boko Haram, Corruption, Fuel Subsidy, Bakassi, New N5000 note, Privatization of Power, Unemployment,YouWin etc. Nonsense |
Let me see... 1. Fashola 2. Fayemi 3. Chime 4. Fashola I only listen to Oshiomole whenever he talks about fuel subsidy or labour. And I listen to Okorocha anytime I want to have a good laugh. However, both are in my good book. |
But.... who will accompany the men? Or are the muslim men like Maclatunji holier than a muslim lady like our Mukina2? |
The CONSTITUTION is not an instrument for the govt to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the govt - lest it come to dominate our lives & interests. PATRICK HENRY If the people of Osun state wants the creation of new L.G.As, then no qualms. |
I think I understand the point that the Saudi authorities are trying to make. Just imagine a beautiful young Hausa/Fulani teenage girl in far away Saudi without a Murrharam! Say what, say what, anything can happen. You see, most of all these beautiful hausa/fulani girls that looks like angels are most vulnerable when they are not been watched by big brother. You wont believe what they can do. I served in Kaduna during my NYSC & I know what I'm talking about. |
Billyonaire: In elementary Government and Social Science, you were thought that there are many means of becoming a citizen, you just analysed Citizenship by naturalization. Have you forgotten the other 5 means of becoming a citizen or you want me to remind you of them. I guess you have forgotten.**** Beaf {Billyonaie} give me few minutes, I'll be driving home in few minutes, I'll entertain your ignorance about the rubbish you posted above when I get home. Cya |
