I try not to argue with anyone when they say a man beats a woman. Especially Nigerian women. The world is hypocritical towards men and it is disgusting. |

PoliteActivist: Dangote refinery is a private, profit-maximizing business. Why must they sell you fuel in Naira? The agreement they had with federal government says so. You are just looking for excuses for things not to work. |

PoliteActivist: You keep harping on Dangote refinery. Can you please give an explanation We import fuel using dollars. With Dangote refinery the import and need for dollar reduces or stops ( at least on the fuel front ). The small doubt I have is as a result of saboteurs. |

Athena6: Do you think it will even get to 1100 because I don't want to lose anymore money.
I am just feeling like a failure 😞 I am only guessing. I am a digital marketer and earn in dollars. Just got a payment in and I am not converting it till maybe Wednesday. I think it will settle at 750 eventually but that will be dependent on dangote refinery. |

Wolfdevil: Why is everyone complaining.
If you follow the market, this thing happens every year around this time. It will eventually rise even higher. The op should just calm down. It will rise even higher than #1300 I have lost 800k today but note that dollar isn't going high to 1300, unless dangote refinery fails. I am only waiting till it gets to about 1100 and then exit. I forsee dollar going to 750 before March unless Dangote refinery fails. |

BadMaster: You shouldn't be having that terrible speed no matter where you are in Nigeria, so location consideration shouldn't even come up. To be honest, you are not helping yourself.
First of all, you were asked to check for obstructions, you didn't indicate as to whether you have done so and there's no obstruction. You haven't told us where your dish is placed.
Secondly, I asked you to show us your outages stats, you still didn't. I even showed you sample screenshots of outages stats. Unusual outages, especially those above 5s+ happening frequently could mean a defective or damaged cable or dishy, that's if there are no obstructions, bad weather, etc. I didn't reply because I was trying to figure how to check for obstructions turned out I need to set up the app on my phone. BadMaster: There's something wrong somewhere. This is horrible. Check for obstructions, make sure your dishy is at the highest point, preferably the roof. I hope your dishy or cable isn't damaged though.
If you have done all else and the performance remains this way, I would suggest you initiate a 'return and refund', since you're still within the 30day window of return. The process is seamless. Starlink processes refunds instantly. I actually only want solution not a refund. I need the device more than the money. |

BadMaster: Starlink is excellent for streaming, even with 4k and 8k videos. The challenge you are having has to do with the streaming link/server. This issue is common with some IPTV providers, as they don't have adequate servers to handle their traffic.
If you want to know how good your Starlink connection is, go on YouTube and Stream 8k videos, it should stream seamlessly. This is because streaming services like YouTube have farms of servers all over the world.
Always remember that, to stream even a live 8k video, you require less than 100Mbps connection. Meanwhile, Starlink is typically way faster than that. I have not achieved up to 100mbps in more than 10 days. Beginning to piss me off. See the attachment.

HIbreed: You said you spent 24k with DSTV and data subscription, that you now save almost 50k since you started using Starlink. That prompted my question. I was the one who said it. And what I meant is I will stop dstv subscription since I use it only football. I can always watch football online saves me 24k on Dstv and since I subscribe to airtel's 30k plan twice a month, sometimes thrice then that is easy 50k saving. |

Also, enable the 5Ghz channel in the Starlink app. It's way faster than the 2.4Ghz, which is enabled by default. WOW, I changed to 5Ghz and now 150mbps. Crazy. |

Airtel has gotten me to seme border, he remain small make they push me enter porto novo ( I am Beninese ) but I dodge am with starlink. I saw slot selling starlink to people for 500k. Hahaha. If it was shipped by Starlink Lagos, then it's possible your phone number is not included in the shipment details, so you may need to call DHL and also update the tracking details with your phone number. lazkizz: hello nairalanders
lemme just go straight to the point , my elder bro called me today and told me he just go a gig in the USA . His an architect , so he applied for the gig online few weeks back. luckily for him they sent him this mail below.
* I recommend you read the mail carefully, am not an architect I don't even understand what's the job description , but my bro knows every details.
* is this legit or it's a scam ??
* and if it's Real ,we don't have and know anyone in the USA..... so pls I will need the help of a good samaritan in the USA to help us with the below requirement.
Thanks. This doesn't look shady at all, it is actually a scam. This has been tried on me many times. I am a digital marketer. They won't send you the exact amount, they will send you cheque in excess and ask you to forward the rest. If the cheque clears you will eventually be arrested by the bank and will be made to refund the money. Trust me, this is a big scam. |

BoldBrainz: I'm trying to understand what laptop you comfortably bought for 1 million naira only to come on nairaland to lament about spending 160K on generator usage monthly.
Sounds like you have the tendency to be wasteful when you can have same satisfaction from spending lesser on alternatives.
My system cost me 370K. I don't own a generator. I have a solar power pack I ordered from New Jersey at a cumulative cost of 175K. It's charged with electricity as well and can keep my gadgets and system powered for 80 hours before the next charge.
I also have a mini solar installation done at 160K that enables me use two fans and bulbs and when electricity comes on, I use my AC.
Everything listed here didn't even cost me up to the amount you wasted to buy a laptop. Sometimes you have to plan according to economic realities. I am interested in this solar power pack. What can it power and how long does it last? I have power supply for between 18-22 hours or more per day but just ordered starlink and may need something to power it on the rare occasion we don't have power supply. |
