foliman:
Not at all!

You'll need average of 2,500 blocks. Then to set 2,500 blocks, you'll need need 50 bags of cement.

Bricklayer would charge average of ₦110 per block.

Roofing would cost like 1m

Electrical at around 500k

Mechanical at around 500k

Sand never dey

Granite

Laterite for filling,

Lintel

Cement is ₦6,400 in Lagos as of today 30th of January 2023
Do you think 18m will complete a 4 bedroom flat to finishing? Building to rent out not to live in it.

Strokes:
If it's just to put up blocks no problem. But to finish a house, you need far more than that

I'm on a 2 bedroom flat up and down and as at yesterday, I had spent 19m and I haven't finished it yet. Still have almost 5m estimate to finish up.

To sink a borehole alone, to get windows, doors, roof, electrical, etc
I have been quoted 13m, 18m, and 20m for a four 4 bedroom flat bungalow to finishing.

Are you handling your project by yourself?

Nah... Certain Nigerians earnestly desire to see Tinubu's administration fail woefully.

For such people, it validates their conviction and belief that he is unworthy of that position, and they are ready to lose everything of value to them just to be proved right.

Then again, if you look at it, it feels like Karma! Tinubu, at one point in the past, never wanted his President to succeed in anything.
Exactly this. Absolutely f*cking spot on.

It's not a game of wish, that you have come here to make noise about you earning in dollars has not make you sensible either ,

you don't wish things into happening , they said if wishes are horses , beggers would ride ,

they are telling you , this is the effect of making the wrong decision during election , do u want them to wish the dollar down to $1 per #1 ? ,
you want to hide the fact that the entire government crew are clueless and not fit for govt, as a matter of fact, they are just rolling along with the dice, they are not doing anything whatsoever to control how the dice roll,
the only good thing they know how to do is come with propaganda on how Nigerian stock exchange is the number 2 in the world , since when did that type of news bring down inflation?
Let them loud the hunger with hyperinflation, na them go still suffer-am. Soon, many will start eating 0-0-1 per day. This is what he wrote that I replied to. Now read that slowly and tell me ( as you people are often quick to compare to America ) if an American would have written that or if a British would have.

Go on.

You deliberately voted in a renowned criminal and a thief because of tribalism and you are expecting the sensible one to be praising and praying for the economy to be OK abi? Nobody is wishing Nigeria any badluck. In short, you are your like are the one wishing Nigeria badluck because of una myopic and foolish sentiment. Swerve joor
Some of you are so daft and so deep in generalisation. Please show me where and when I voted for Tinubu or even lobbied for votes for him.

Use your head, if the content of it is not ice cream, expired ice cream.

I repeat, praying ill on Nigeria is senseless. A good amount of the elites in this country don't like Tinubu and I definitely do not like him but how does it profit me if I pray for his failure?

Is that difficult to understand?

"It is senseless to be honest" and "It is senseless, to be honest" mean two totally different things.

I believe you were aiming for the latter, in your response. tongue

I think what people are saying is that the government policies so far has no benefit to the common people and this is what most of them expected. I don't think anyone is praying for the government to fail. If the government fails then Nigeria fails and I believe nobody in Nigeria wants that to be the case.
What he said was Let them loud the hunger with hyperinflation, na them go still suffer-am. Soon, many will start eating 0-0-1 per day.

That is definitely someone wishing ill on the country. I am sad the way things are and I dislike Tinubu and firmly believe he is a crook but seriously, why pray ill on the country because I do not like the president? How does the country burning benefit me and makes me happy ( unless I am someone who likes benefiting from the pains of others which is not the real way to true happiness)

I really don't understand you people that wish the country bad. What makes it worse is that 90% of you people earn in Nigeria. I earn in dollar, when there is inflation, my dollar gives me an edge or at worse cancels things out for me ( my buying power doesn't diminish ) but most of you people wishing hell on Nigeria earn in naira. Almost like putting fire to your one and only house with no escape route.

Quiet senseless if you ask me.

Tinubu is a known criminal but even though it is weird, it looks like he will do well for this country. He will definitely steal but he will do well from all indication.

Yes, naira is now 1400 to a dollar but that will be a lame way of analysing things. More than 75% of his steps so far has been good steps unlike Buhari.

I pray he succeeds as my success as a Nigerian is much more and better when the country succeeds.
FamilyRe: My Dad's Driver First Child Looks Different From The Rest, I'm Worried by oliverwrites: 11:55am On Jan 24, 2024
EreluRoz:
My dad's driver son is right here in our house and he's the first child of his dad, he's totally different from the rest, he doesn't look like his dad neither does he look like his mum, there's no resemblance from both parents at all.

I stylishly dig up stories of how his mum was married because he's been driving my dad even before I was born and I was told she was already pregnant before the marriage ceremony was held and as at that time of their wedding, the woman lived in a different state, she just came and told him she was pregnant and that was how marriage happened .

I have watched this boy from head to toe so I can see at least one feature in resemblance but I didn't see anything, not even from the mom, he's just totally different. The other kids are ok, two share a striking resemblance with their dad while the last took after her mom but with some of the dad features, so are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Should I tell my dad my observation? What do you think?

We are NOT discussing what they can afford to lend.
We are discussing transferring millions based on a whatsapp request for a loan.

My app has 5m daily limit. You can have it customized and again, the fact that you can't do it for your friends doesn't mean others can't. Not everyone is a broke ass.

I don't see this forum dying any time soon, cos people have been saying what you said since 2014, when things shifted on Nairaland... It's been 10 years and Nairaland keeps growing in terms of number of active users.

The truth is, this who we are in this country... Nairaland just gives people an avenue to speak their minds on a faceless forum. Seun gets the traffic, and smiles to the bank. Even though he said he would change things some days ago, I doubt he will do anything about it.
I agree with you. I joined this forum in 2008, built a 10m+ per month business from scratch using the forum and I am grateful but Seun has been an embarrassment enabling tribalism.

You can't read comments and not get angry. It was never like this when I first joined in March 2008.

Reading the comments on here I hope Seun gets what he deserves. Pains me that we bear the same name and tribe. The tribalism on this forum is disgusting. And Seun looks away.

I built my business to a multimillion business using this forum but this forum will soon die thanks to Seun encouraging tribalism.

I am absolutely disgusted.

I stopped the day my first daughter was dressing and asked me to close my eyes. She was 5 ( now 8 ). I had to stop bathing for all three of them on that day. I just dress them instead now.

It is better to stop once they are 4-6. So that they don't normalise a man touching their private part and some idiots taking advantage.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Should I Keep My Job Or Travel To The UK by oliverwrites: 12:44pm On Jan 02, 2024
mistacoco2:
Hello guys,

For some days now I have been on a serious dilemma whether to resign from my federal government job that pays me above N200k for my current position and migrate to the UK or stay in naija and set up a business to augment my salary. I will be 34 years next year, I feel traveling to the uk for studies next year September will delay my chances of getting married, as I have planned not exceeding 34 years without getting married.

I belong to the school of thought that believes can make it in Nigeria despite all odds. However, considering the economic realities of the country, I have recently contemplating of japa and maybe get a Nigerian lady for marriage after my studies.

Please I earnestly need matured advice from you guys to know how to start the coming year.
You are the one who can best advise yourself. 200K a month is very small but if you are able to increase it while still here by all means go for it. Most Nigerians who go abroad do not go their to become rich, they go there to become a middle class. I once had an offer of 10,000 euros per month from a German company, I turned it down because I never wanted to cheat on my wife and I know it will happen while over there, I sounded like a fool to my wife then, 5 years later, it has turned out to be the best decision.

Seat yourself down, calculate everything. Be honest to yourself then make a decision. Nigeria is not half as bad as people make it to sound.
