it is no wahala once you get it right the first time. yes oooo at least 2 premiership matches guaranteed for free. 2m might sometime show the same match with RDV. you kow they show the hottest match of the week

@enitan

touch and touch until you get it right. sometime when you align in a certian way, it might result in loss in quality of another sateliite, so you have to get it right so that all your channels come up. once that is odne, no need to go up again until there need for it. all rest can be done inside your sitting room.

@ olofofo, what do you mean by tweaking the dish?
getting the alignment right!
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by olofofo(m): 9:23am On Nov 21, 2008
@enitan

no need to go outside since it's a "motorized dish", my MSNBC is on postion 21 on my positioner and my CNN is on positioner 12, and since sirius is at 4.8e which is between 7e and 22w, all you need to do is input a working frequency in manual search and then move the dish from position 21 to postion 12, the transponder will turn green along the way, u can then stop ur postioner and tweak it until you get the best percentage, then u can save the position for that new satellite.

Does this have anything to do with RDV? A friend once told me that he heard some folks are still watching the channel in Ibadan.
I emailed those RDV dumbos and they did not even have the courtesy to reply, this was after lying to me that they were doing repairs on the phone. abeg any one with the BISS key should put me on their list, i know it's only a question of time before it become available.

@ all, esp olofofo/badaru,
if iwant to install my motorised dish outside my home, as u can see from the first picture, thats my pas7/10, the east side is very free, but turning west, there's a blockage by the upstair to the left.
The second picture, is an option of me installing the motorised at the back of my house which gives me a clear view of the westside, because thats my nss7, but the building to the left is a threat to the eastern satellites.

So you guys come to my rescue oo before i do the unthinkable,
I will prefer oga badaru to make a visitation to my installation site (my abode) and pin-point to the best location for the pole of my dish to be mounted so as to be able to receive both east and west.

BAdaru/olofofo,
am urgently awaiting your replies
demolishing that your neighbours house is the only thing that come to mind right now!   grin grin grin

you will need to go back to season 1 for a list of satellites that you can reach, i posted the ones that i can receive. i though t you promised no more questons? abeg do get you set up. meanwhile you tell you say if you give me one of your sisters, i go mind?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by olofofo(m): 10:33am On Nov 09, 2008
@enitan

except you want to install more than two jacks, once you have aligned your dish along the clark belt or the axis which the dishes are, there's really no need for north to south movement. since the dish only need to move from east to west and back that is why the neck is tightened avoid north to south movement.

pay tv ,good for you if you like those channels ,if they packaged it ,then u are expected to buy it.
this is definitely not pay TV, all the channels are fta and from the list of channels, the dish will be motorized as well. all the channels listed on their 2.4m package is what i get on my 1.8 motorized.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by olofofo(m): 10:07am On Nov 07, 2008
@enitan

lets answer all of this questions when your dish is in place. the decoder and the positioner are independent of themselves and once you get the alignments right, there's no need for sideways movement.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by olofofo(m): 9:40pm On Nov 06, 2008
@enitan

just two cables, one for decoder, other for the positioner.
