Oluamyd Utd has been in free fall after being on autopilot for a couple of GWs. Those in the NLFPL CARLING CUP, SuperligaNLFPL and The Head Cup would have noticed the fall from grace of the once all-conquering team. The team even slide to an ignominious number 52nd position in the Nairaland Premier League. Now though, the only way is up as the once AWOL manager has resumed for official duties. The first scalps to be taken are Legendary XI, Josefuadjr fc and yushinfc. Sorry is your name if you are the manager of any of those teams . The gauntlet has been thrown. 1 Like |

Daughterzion: This post is an important example of why some Pastors will continue to live fat on their church members' sweat. Some pastors are the best marketers there is. They play on gullible people's emotion and turn them to some sort of zombie atm. 'Sowing of seeds'. If God is so rich and can give me in abundance, why do I need to give him money first? What's the difference between this and yahoo yahoo? 3 Likes |

ElekeNtioba: The history books are your friends bro. When it comes to large scale wars or civil strive, the Yoruba has fought the longest and bitterest. We are not talking riots here. We are talking wars involving hundreds of thousands of people. I understand that our schools don't teach indigenous history that much so I won't blame you for probably not knowing about the internecine wars. The Yoruba also fought wars against other empires who pretty much were in charge of West Africa at some point in the past. There's even a monument somewhere in Yoruba land that signified the point where the different Yoruba sub groups came together to sign an agreement never to war again. Is it any wonder that the Yoruba as a group would rather go the peace route? Most times, wars do not resolve conflicts, agreements and concessions do. There is always a story behind a story. The Yoruba 'cowardice' of today has a story behind it; a story of self-preservation. History did not begin in 1914. 16 Likes 1 Share |

daretodiffer: A lot of people need to read A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) books to realise that many times, tact will win a war where strength fails. A simple analogy is why a small man like Tyrion Lannister (despite all the people who want him dead) is still alive when strong men like the Mountain, Oberyn Martel, Kahl Drogo are dead. 99 times in 100, a wise man will survive a conflict where millions of strong men have lost their lives. A lot of Nigerians confuse tact with cowardice. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Well, my best advice for you is to quickly package your cv in line with the teaching profession. Immediately schools resume after the festive period, submit your cvs to 5 schools in your area and you'll definitely get employed in one. Hint: Go online and search for templates of great teaching cvs. Package your cv well to make a good first impression and to set you apart from the average person looking for a teaching job. Back it up with a good cover letter highlighting specific skills you possess that any school will want. They won't be expecting a cover letter so you already have an advantage. This has worked every time I'm looking for temporary employment. Wish you well. 2 Likes 1 Share |

blairlady: Lol. You Amuse me. 1. I'm not Igbo, but that doesn't necessarily mean I can't want good thing for my country. 2. I didn't mention Akwa Ibom or Akwa Ibomites in my post. I was speaking based on the carnival being held in Imo but then, I could say the same thing about the Calabar Carnival now that you have mentioned it. Even though they spice it up with a little of the calabar culture, they still basically dress like the Carribeans. 3. No one is being tribalistic. The point of carnivals is to attract tourists by showcasing your traditional attributes in a colourful way. Why organise a carnival if you are not going to attract tourists or make any money? That's an unnecessary drain of public funds. 4. Carnivals are good but we need to showcase more of our culture and less of what we see in the Carribean nations cos, if I was a tourist, why would I want to visit the Imo or Calabar carnival when I could go to Brazil and watch a better one? Meaning, our culture is our Unique Selling Point and we need to showcase it more. |

B69U: You are so on point. I dunno why we can't showcase our culture rather than import wholesale some foreign thing that won't earn anyone a penny. If I was a tourist, why would I want to watch Imo carnival when Brazil is there? We really need to sell ourselves in this country. Hian! 1 Like |
