Mrs, Eve:

I have to deal with the OTHER MEN gawking and dazing. Then deal with my husband talking about that his assets and all hands but his off. I am like what with you men and assets? I find these things to be true. You can allure a man with these things:

Nyansh
Punny
bosoms
Pretty face
Pretty smile

A friend told me that women should be happy that men go gaga over their women's assets because when a man stop gaga over them something is WRONG. Did I tell yall I got pet names for all of my assets by my husband? I am like da hell!

You men are obsessed!
Seriously?LOL!!!

Politics / Re: "CBN Steals More Than We Do"---senate President by oluite(f): 2:11pm On Dec 14, 2010
violent:

President of the Senate, Mr David Mark, on Monday, dismissed the Governor of Central Bank (CBN) Mallam  Lamido Sanusi’s claim that the National Assembly was consuming 25 per cent of the total annual national overhead budget, saying it was the CBN that was gulping the largest national overhead cost of 50 per cent.

Mark said going by Mallam Sanusi’s own arithmetic, the CBN was consuming N300 billion, representing 50 per cent, which amounted to double of what the CBN governor alleged that the National Assembly was spending.
According to him, Sanusi was wrong when he claimed that 25 per cent of the total Federal Government’s overhead budget was being used to maintain the National Assembly every year, pointing out that if N150 billion overheads to the National Assembly translated into 25 per cent, it meant that the N300 billion overheads to the CBN amounted to 50 per cent of the national budget.

The Senate President spoke with journalists in Benin City, the Edo State capital, shortly after paying a condolence visit to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, over the death of his wife, Clara.

Romance / Re: Would You Marry Someone Below Your Status?: Vote by oluite(f): 3:13pm On Dec 13, 2010
iice:

Intellectually below, NO. Other things are not so relevant to me

Bukittes:

I am a sucker for intelligence and the first thing that gets me crazy about a guy is his level of intelligence. Now if u tell me to marry a mechanic for instance, I'm not against his profession but I am against the fact that we cannot reason alike, have same friends, see things in the same light & that alone reduces the ability to communicate effectively. Why are we marrying if there is no communication? It will soon pack up!
You are both so on point!
Imagine having a conversation with someone with no intellectual stimulation at all!

Bawomolo came across as a very bright chap.I never knew him personally but always read his views. Its was a very rude shock to see this on the front page this morning, It never crossed my mind that the Nigerian Student Killed in Chicago was Bawomolo and so young too!I have this chill all over, Death is just so Final. I can only imagine the pain of his family, loved ones and close friends if i have this chill! Rest in Peace.

''I was loyal to my leader, the late great President Umaru Yar'adua. I am loyal to Nigeria, I don't claim to represent North, South or a Committee-I represent Nigeria. I am loyal to Nigeria's economy, I don't have accounts or property abroad, ALL my children live and school in Nigeria. I am loyal to my wife and friends. Can those who accuse me say the same?'' GEJ
Being loyal to Nigeria entails unswerving in allegience to Nigeria:having your children in schools in Nigeria is alright but its not Key!When there is power, good roads, healthcare infact a system that works in Nigeria then such a leader is loyal!!
Romance / Re: She Refuses To Wash His Clothes by oluite(f): 1:33pm On Nov 22, 2010
maxxy:

I was having this chat with my friends the other day (both are single female lawyers) and we touched upon this issue. Both categorically stated that they have told their guys that they will not do their laundry now, or when they get married. I see nothing wrong with that while they are still single, but married?!!!!

According to them, all clothes (including boxers) must go to the drycleaners and paid for by the man, or he should wash them himself!

I intially thought they were joking, but their insistence got me thinking. Is this a product of the wind of feminism blowing across the land, or do we assume too much when we expect our wives to arrange for our laundry to be done?
na them dey wash pass wen they get married!
Politics / Re: Video Of Alleged Assault On Actress Ufoma Ejenabor by oluite(f): 2:30pm On Nov 19, 2010
I think Ufoma has been judged too harshly, Nigeria is a country like no other. This video depicts after the harassment!! The Deputy commissioner was being diplomatic after the deed has been done! Her car was bashed and instead of an apology she was thoroughly beaten by the Police is your friend!!! This is what happens to the average Nigerian, just yesterday two policeman chased a hapless man with their guns already corked, the very frighthened man fled the scene by reversing through the streets, i had to quickly find my way also. Stray bullets are a common occurrence in such situations. Its a vicious circle, The average Nigerian will just leave the scene after getting a bashing from the convoy and grumble at home, I guess she decided to speak out unfortunately the result wasn't a happy one.
Health / Re: Lagos Approves 75% Conmess For Doctors by oluite(f): 1:25pm On Nov 11, 2010
reindeer:

I am a doctor and i worked in Nigeria before relocating to the UK some years back, so i know what obtains on both sides.
I tell you there is no other alternative to getting stone heads to hear you.The world expects you to be working for charity while you pay for everything. Its just not possible, you wouldnt say this if your dad was one of those doctors and the money you get for your university education comes from that source.Pay was pitiable, conditions abominable and you are expected to continue working?
Here in the Uk i can predict when my pay comes in each month, i know how much i will collect with no errors, infact i can tell you dates my account will be credited by the NHS for the next 6 months! It is just a pity that the masses will keep suffering like this because they are quiet when politicians are increasing salaries everyday and even stealing to top it all. There should be mass protests. The nigerian politician (and the masses)understand only the language of strikes because they will ignore warnings.
I had been in Nigeria back then during strikes and we still worked day and nights for patients on admission, we just didnt admit new ones, if that isnt enough sacrifice for you then i dont know what will suffice.Let me tell you how bad, because as a doctor back then i couldnt afford paying my rents in ikeja i had to move to ikorodu and commute for 2-3hours to and from work everyday to a general hospital on the island. So dont sit behind your computer and pontificate to me about ''moral'' issues.strikes arent the option and yet you cant think of one ,just one other way of making grievances known.
Its going to keep getting worse i see.about 70 of us graduated from my class and over 30 are in the UK now, well employed and getting paid enough for us all to have bought good homes in london within 5years of working. There are about another 20 in the US, out of the remaining some are planning to relocate soon cos of metalities like those of this ileke idi who think docs should continue suffering.
You may  say Nigerian doctors are 'quacks' etc, dont worry, that only means the developed world appreciates these quacks well, fine with me.
The full blame goes to the lame ducks and block heads who only have power cos people allow them to.
Thank you sharing your experience. This will serve as an eye opener,Nigeria is a country like no other.Sadly only drastic measures holds!

It surely affects the children. sometimes i felt why was i born into this family? I once told my father not to send me any money cos he was corrupt. I worked hard to sustain myself until we parted ways for some reasons but he is still my father, which i can't do anything about.
I like your guts!
cityofsin:

Long time reader first time poster

I am the child of wealthy parents. Father was/is the head of a huge multinational firm in Nigeria. Fortunately/unfortunately, 99% of my friends come from wealthy families (children of businessmen, ceos, politicians etc). Even amongst the wealthy, there is a clear divide between corporate rich and political rich. kids of corporate folks usually have parents who have worked hard their entire careers, smart and went to top schools while on the political side, its mostly the opposite.

Face reality people. This is how it is all over the world. less than 1% of a countrys population usually controls 99% of the wealth and that is how its going to be. I do have to say it is rather disgusting and shows jealousy if you feel all of us are clueless about the state of Nigeria (especially thoser of us that grew up in Nigeria) and things that go on. Yes I do have my fair share of friends who are clueless but a vast majority of my people are very intelligent and very good people. Its funny because I am friends with most of the people you guys mention and they are good people. Yes I do have a few friends who are not wealthy and while we do get along well, at the end the day, human beings like being around and socializing with people who are like them.

To my last point, anyone who doesnt make use of their connections to move up in life is a clear . success in life is not necessarily being smart or hardworking. Its luck, knowing people and being in the right place at the right time.

please kindly continue reading!

Reading the replies got me amused, i first tot it was my hubbby that started the thread,

I think its one of the most difficult things my hubby told me. He chose a crisp monday morning to tell me, i actually cried all day at work.

Alot of tots though,,i have house guests, everyone licks their plates, but my choosy hubby complains(he even complains about his mamas own food, hes actually hard to please food wise)
Well i am in this for him so hes the ultimate.
Anyway i had to talk to myself as criticism is not easy to take, have enroled in a catering school ,telling me self that there is always room for improvement and i will only come out better.

The first thing is for her to acept the challenge. Also she might be someone that does not pay attention to detail or is careless, because when i put my mind to it and learn from experience it actually comes out better. Its not easy, Goodluck.

Well done!

Seun:

She is your wife, not a cook. If you need a cook hire a cook. Let her do other things.
haba a wife should be able to cook a good meal now? a cook will be wonderful if you can afford it.
1moment:

I married my wife knowing quite well she's not a fantastic cook but i thought when we get married and she does the cooking more often she will improve but i was wrong as it becomes worsefrom bad everyday. its of either the soupy is tasteless or watery or the semo is like pap sweetended with plenty sugar, rice mostly saltless, beans- dnt even go there. Any time i make complains she takes offence and say i dnt appreciate her effort but the most painfully aspect is that i hadly want to eat outside the home, so whatever she serves me as dinner when i get home from work happens to be the only meal i have in a day which ends up being pathetic most times, though am already toying with the idea of having me fill before going home but i dnt really want to do that for the sake of jeopardizing my home and my pocket. pls what do i do.

You already knew she wasnt a fantastic cook, you can only expect fantastic meals if she can agree to learn.Try suggest one to her.
