PoliticsRe: APC Has Performed Below Expectation –utomi by olujastro: 6:32am On May 22, 2017
I agree and this is mainly because Baba has been very slow in taking concrete actions on key economic and social issues. It looks like we really crawled Baba if you compare with the activeness of PYO.
But if you actively follow developmental projects, you'll agree that APC is definitely putting us on the right path of development compared to the grand looters, PDP.
PoliticsRe: Osinbajo orders 24-hour operations at Apapa Port by olujastro:
I'm loving this Acting President's quick actions by the minute. No time to waste at all unlike my slow Baba.
Honestly, travelling to Nigeria isn't appealing in the first place considering the harassment one faces at the international airport from officials. Many of my former colleagues who are foreigners always complained about same airport troubles on every single trip going in and out of Nigeria. I got really ashamed of it all.
Really can't wait for the ports corruption to be stamped out for good.
BusinessRe: Naira Gains Against Dollar To N375/$ by olujastro: 7:55am On May 19, 2017
9jakohai:
Basic math.....naira falls and rises with the oil price.

2013: Oil price was at $94 on average.
Naira exchanged at 159 to $1

2014: Oil price was at $85 on average
Naira exchanged at 180 to $1

2015: Oil price was at $41.9 on average
Naira exchanged at 258 to $1

2016: Oil prices were at $ 34 on average.
Naira exchanged at 350 on the parallel market to $1
Why doesn't the naira rise with high oil prices?
BusinessRe: NNPC Sets To Sign $6 Billion Oil Swaps Deal With Local And International Traders by olujastro:
What a country! With about 18yrs of a steady democracy, we still have to rely on imported petroleum products.
High oil prices = Subsidy problems.
Low oil prices = Fx scarcity problems.
Either way it goes na problems, problems and problems.

This is the wrong time for anyone who means well to aspire to be president cos too many problems await you.
No wonder Baba just dey sick anyhow.
Ask Ambode why he's succeeding in Lagos today and he'll tell you it's previous back to back progress he's riding on.

Naija we hail thee! One can only but hope at this point.

Not surprised... 2019 will be interesting
To be honest with you, 2019 will likely be uninteresting without any opposition in place. I look forward to an almost walk over because Nigerians know PDP or whatever name they change to isn't an option. They can't even play opposition, how much more rule loot? Sorry, I forgot looting is easier than ruling for PDP.
I like to ask the young people who support PDP a question but they usually fail to give good answers.
Why do you support PDP? Just one convincing reason.

My God, Nigeria is a joke. I didn't read the content but with the headline and coming from Lai Mohammed, i just know the country is at a stand still... I really want to see what some of these APC zombies will come to say... I just taya for these country
That is where your problem lies particularly considering that the content was very short. Next time you see a news item from Vanguard, read the content. Cos all they do is come up with foolish headlines that have no connection with what was said.
A very bitter opposition newspaper.

PoliticsRe: Ambode Commissions Abule Egba Flyover by olujastro: 8:01am On May 18, 2017
This is what I want, for lots of development to have taken place that person no go recognize again and fit loss inside Lagos sef.
Ambo has proven the haters wrong back to back. Kudos to those who started this rapid transformation of Lagos, particularly Fashola my "heart beat" and Asiwaju.
Hopefully we can replicate the Lagos way at the centre given the time and patience from Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: See Total Money Stolen From Nigeria In 54 Years According To Chatham House UK by olujastro:
The report, titled “Collective Action on Corruption in Nigeria, a Social Norms Approach to Connecting Societies and Institutions,” said that close to $400 billion was stolen from Nigeria’s public accounts from 1960 to 1999. It added that between 2005 and 2014, $182 billion was lost through illicit financial flows from the country.

Not surprised about the $400b. During the military era, one head-of-state alone was controlling all the loots, so money couldn't go round in a sense. Life was so hard particularly during Abacha's tenure that we all ran to the streets to celebrate his death after it was announced on radio. Now we've seen all his loots in Switzerland.
But according to this report, while it took us almost 40yrs to loot $400b, it's taken just 9yrs to loot about half that amount. This is where I hail OBJ and Jona aka IB aka Stealing is not corruption aka America will know.
Nigerian Democracy should henceforth be redefined as "The system of improving and perfecting the looting spree."

Only 100 marks deducted? That's fair enough.
In Norway, that exam will be cancelled for you and you'll be suspended. Upon investigation by the legal committee, expulsion straight! I doubt if any school will want to admit you afterwards. That's how big a crime exam malpractice is in the country, same as plagiarism.

I can see how we're so used to dishonest means of achieving success, hence people are screaming "why will they deduct a whole 100 marks?"
How won't the rest of the world write online reports describing Nigerians as wayo people? Na small small exam wayo e dey start from.
PoliticsRe: Kachikwu Secures Full Oil Minister Status, Roles As Northern Cabal Kicks Against by olujastro:
This is long overdue as Kachikwu has achieved a lot both as NNPC head and Petroleum minister. Those who understand the industry will always praise him.
From negotiating the govt out of the huge burden of Joint venture cash calls amounting to billions of dollars, to fixing the refineries and major loading depots. He's finally seen that the repaired refineries will operate at a big loss to govt hence the handing over to ENI(Agip) and the Original manufacturer for complete overhauling and possible collocation of new refineries beside the existing ones.
This is the first time in our history that I go to NNPC's website and I see monthly reports of oil production and earnings for the govt.
I just hope he sends the PIB on time before the end of this tenure to open up the petroleum industry.
Kudos to Kachikwu. The fictitious cabal can go to hell.

Any news that further keeps PDP away from the National treasury is a welcome development.

My only political wish for Nigeria is that PDP doesn't get a singular access to the National treasury ever again in my lifetime.
You can say that they are decamping to the APC but still doesn't give them that access to the treasury.

dominique:
This is coming from an health minister that is supposed to bury his head in shame. What stopped them from distributing the drugs before they expired? Selfish bastards hoarding HIV medications for their personal gains now it is all wasted. It will never be well with some people.
Did he say it happened when he became a minister? Do you think he would have come out to make such a statement if this happened under his watch?
We just always like to blame in every area of our national life whether wrongly or rightly like we get paid for it.

How nobody noticed that there was no singular comment about true federalism made by Aregbe on behalf of Tinubu bewilders me. Not even 1 quote.

PS: Next time you see a political headline from Vanguard, read it thoroughly for your own good, and only believe it if they can quote exactly what was said.

PoliticsRe: APC Can’t Fix Nigeria’s Problem In 8 Years -oyegun by olujastro:
eyeview:
Which power is being fixed?
When Jonathan was in power, we averaged a megawatt output of 5,000mw. Fashola and APC said it wasn't enough. I have documented evidence of where APC promised that if voted, they would take it to 10,000mw. They got into power and it hit 0mw, the first time since the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914. Today, they average 3,000 mw and their goal is to celebrate 5,000mw. The same feat they said wasn't enough. They think we have forgotten. You can verify if they have ever reached or passed 5,000mw.

You mentioned housing. Please show me the news link of any new housing projects initiated or commissioned by this govt so far.

Also show me the new hospital projects.
Atleast, Jonathan built 6 new universities( note: built, not refurbished), this govt has not even built an almajiri school.
Please give me the facts to support those lies you spilled out there.
The only project initiated and completed so far in this govt is the helipad in Daura where Buhari's helicopter will be landing whenever he is home. Fact.
I'm not one who likes to argue back and forth.
Just so you know, our highest power output ever in the history of Nigeria was generated in February 2016. That's 5074MW. The same month pipeline vandalism started and crippled that achievement. Today it is not 3000mw. Try to get informed, I won't be your informant. Follow energywatchng on Facebook for daily power output.
You must be very forgetful to say Power averaged 5000mw during Jonathan's time. Go back and do a proper research. I know the complexities involved in the power sector: the 2013 political privatisation to non-investing discos and gencos being one and Vandalism the other.

If you know what I know when it comes to ongoing infrastructural development, you'll definitely say PDP raped us all along.
A lot of projects are currently ongoing but the govt isn't blowing its trumpet loud. Probably till election period I guess. I won't be listing all projects here. Follow @FMPWHng on twitter to find out ongoing roads, housing and power projects with evidence.
Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail is ongoing which will end at Kano.
If you don't like the APC, wait till 2019 when the majority will decide again and swallow your singular vote for corruption aka PDP.
PoliticsRe: APC Can’t Fix Nigeria’s Problem In 8 Years -oyegun by olujastro: 8:43am On May 16, 2017
eyeview:
Nobody is even expecting APC to fix anything. All we want is that they don't fail beneath what they got from PDP. But sadly, they have failed far below all PDP indices.
Even things we took for granted under PDP is now a rarity with this govt. Even for one to get jamb registration for his ward now requires connection. To even get your ward to sit for it is war.
Let me educate you a bit son. In management, once a new manager takes over the management of an organisation, the performance indices of his sacked or resigned predecessor automatically becomes his benchmark. He is to improve on it but never to fall below it.
This govt has failed in all indices in just two years, talkless of achieving any magic. If you can't see this, then there is no need engaging in any further talks with you as you are clearly biased. And it's futile reasoning with an already biased mind.
Have a nice day.
So funny you said severally that thiey have failed below PDP in ALL indices but could only specifically mention Jamb as if that's an index of development.
Were the road, rails, power, housings, hospitals, schools all in good shape and APC suddenly ruined them? Rather they're being fixed instead.
The only thing I expected you to say that worsened is the exchange rate which affected the economy, and we all know why that happened. With climbing oil prices now we're going back to growth.
Next time be specific and don't hide around vague statements so your point can be appreciated.

Who's giving you 8years? You all are getting out of there in 2019.
From the federal to the various states controlled by APC, it's been a tale of failure and regret.
All of a sudden you expect magic abi? Like the ongoing rail lines, road constructions across all 36 states, power transmission infrastructure, etc will all be completed in less than 2yrs by simply waving a magic wand.
Mention one singular area that PDP fixed in a whole 16yrs.

The absolute failure of the PDP for 16 good years is the reason why there are currently so many priority areas to fix right now.
If you ask 10 different people you'll see they'll mention over 10 different most important areas this govt must fix, which shows you that we have a lot to work on going forward after wasting 16yrs of our national life that was required to put the UAE on the world map.
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Yet To Transmit 2017 Budget To Presidency by olujastro: 8:12am On May 16, 2017
These NASS guys seem to know what they're doing, for them everything is politics.
Pass the budget late, pad it very well (they added a whole N10b to their already large budget), transmit it to the executive late. By then the executive will have no choice but to quickly sign it into law because time has really gone and money has to be quickly released for ongoing projects for the president to be able to fulfil his campaign promises.
They're usually united in doing this irrespective of party.

All hail the legislathieve politrickcians.
PoliticsRe: 2017 Budget: Fresh Rift Looms Between Presidency, NASS by olujastro: 7:32am On May 16, 2017
omenkaLives:
What is worth doing is worth doing well. Osinbajo should never give into these crooks' treachery.

They would try to blackmail him into accenting to the document as passed by the NASS, telling Nigerians the presidency is what keeling the economy from gaining traction by not speedily signing the document, but in actual fact, what was sent to the NASS initially bears no semblance to what is being returned by it.

Osinbajo should peruse the document alphabet by alphabet and figure by figure. If it means taking the whole year to ensure those thieves don't go smiling to the banks tomorrow, so be it. We've had enough of their nonsense. angry
You said part of my mind but it's not that simple this time. The presidency has the most campaign promises to fulfill to Nigerians. A lot of road, rail, power and even empowerment projects are ongoing. Many Nigerians don't know or care about budget passage and signage, they just want to see their lives continuously improved. This is my advice to PYO. He should sign the budget as it is, so releases can be quickly made to continue/complete projects. Any padded MDAs funds not in tune with their development plan shouldn't get money released. The only beneficiary of this would unfortunately be the NASS who added a whopping N10b to their budget and whose funds are Statutory.
Next budget cycle, impress it upon the money-loving Speaker and Senate president not to add to their budgets.
This way everyone wins.

Or you think the West would want to be giving aids to rich but poor countries like Nigeria when there are actually very poor countries that better deserve the aids? Nei.
