I wonder what the good people of plateau state now think of their once beloved governor.

A man whose house is on fire going on a rat hunting expedition!

Indeed, Nigeria is a country where very strange things happen.
Politics › Re: Jonathan May Skip Party’s Primaries In 2015 Race by omenka(m): 6:53pm On Jul 09, 2013
Billionaires: Why do we need primaries when we already know who can win election for us ?

The objective of Primaries is to ascertain which candidate is more popular within the Party and as I type this, there is no other candidate that can win 2015 for us in PDP than Jonathan Ebele Goodluck Azikiwe (JEGA).

That would be the day! These crooks delibrately ensure a large number of nigerians are kept hungry and impoverished so when time comes to find willing foot soldiers to carry out their uncanny orders, it wouldn't be such a difficult task finding them.

You feed your household alone with over a billion naira in a year yet you come out here sounding all sympathetic! Double hypocrisy I must say.

“Unfortunately, he has repeatedly rebuffed every
effort by us and well meaning Nigerians to make him
show remorse and respect for the office of the
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Mr.
President Sir, we sincerely apologize to you and the
First Lady on this sad situation,” he added.

Mr. Obuah said residents of Rivers State were not in
support of the actions of Mr. Amaechi against the
president.
“We appeal that as the saying goes, ‘you do not visit
the sin of the father on the son’ and implore your
Excellency to remember us in prayers".
It's either some of you can't read or you lacked proper education.People like you who have suffered from the bad policies of those in government would be the first to support them due to your blind ethnic jingoism.

Nobody is preventing her from travelling without security but to cause executive madness which will in turn affect the greater society is totally unacceptable even while she's occupying an illegal office.if the constitution did not provide security protection for her,yes she shouldn't be allowed to move with massive security.

The constitution of Nigeria is greater than Jonathan and his wife and that makes them subjective to it.The fact that Patience's madness is being tolerated doesn't mean it is acceptable !

Have you ever seen Americans complain about Michelle blocking the road ? Have you ever seen David cameron's wife in public or even constituting nuisance ? Yet these are the people that gave us democracy;they respect their constitution but look at the mess Nigerians have turned the country to because of the whims and caprices of those in power.

What a shame .
My broda, if you have been on nairaland long enuf, you should understand that you don't respond to every nuseating coment such as the one to which u responded.

This man is begining to sound like a badly configured base guitar.

Can he tell us the number of lives that were ruined by those three drug pushers that were executed??

He said both local and international civil societies were united in the condemnation of the death sentence passed on the pushers,,,, well, what do u expect, for them to applaud the sentence? There were people, some civil organizations, that subtly protested the manner in which Osama was killed, sayin he was killed without fair trial!! Same man that was responsible for the death of thousands!! Did he fairly try his victims before killing them?

Buhari might have had his flaws and goofs while in office, but the execution of those guys isn't one of them. Besides, the world over, military admins rule by decrees. In a democratic setting, things are done a bit diferently Oga Wole.

Be mindful of the things you say sir. Don't make urself unpopular in ur wee hours just like ur just departed coleague.

Politics › Re: Jonathan's Approval Rating Remains Constant At 44% by omenka(m): 4:26pm On Jul 02, 2013
In a country such as ours, such polls realy don't mean anything.

A poll could be conducted a day before an election day, approval ratings of a contestant might be 1% yet he'd win a LANDSLIDE in the election!

That being said, for such an underperforming government, anything above 25% is indeed great news.

Bros abeg park well, No country is a bed of roses,Naija is passing through a phase;there'll be light@d end of d tunnel
Away with all that mediocrity!! Given what we are blessed with, the country deserves to be a bed of roses! Stop excusing those pathologically corrupt rulling class.

If the legislooters, who do nothing but sit in the chambers exchanging banters and on rare occasions, fists, and read newspapers, then get paid tens of millions at the end of the day, lie in beds of roses, imagin how much more ordinary citizens who toil and bust their humps day and night deserve. But then, with all they deserve, They ask nothing more than a little food on the table, at least 18hrs electricity daily, potable water, access to quality medicare, and roads not ridled with potholes. Is that too much to ask??

And as for ur question, the unemployment rate in the US is 7.4%, that of your light ap the end of the tunnel country is 23%!

Ola17: Truth be told, GEJ's
administration is the most
purposeful and visionary
administration we've had.
Cutting down on unnecessary
government expenditure is a very
good move; more resources will
be available to execute
infrastructural projects.
This guy seems to still keep his
head cool even with the plethora
of negative criticism flying
here and there.
Hmmmm, seems he's no longer the
Retardeen, Jonathan, Otuoke
drunken fisherman etc as some
people will have me believe huh
Much as this action deserves some comendation, it is merely glossing over the real problem. If he wants to scrap unecessary offices he should start by scrapping the offices of all the ministers of state. It is a needless duplication having the office of the minister of state when we have a perm sec in all the ministries.

Also, he should slash his utterly useless retinue of advisers, special advisers, senior special advisers, special assisstants, senior special assistants, etc.

They keep dancing around the problem and avoid any move that implies a direct remedial aproach. God help us.
Education › Re: FG Forced ASUU To Embark On Strike by omenka(m): 1:11pm On Jul 02, 2013
Lordave: and you should not also forget that they signed that MoU in 2009, to the best of my knowledge that was in Yar'Adua's tenure, you don't just expect FG to implement whatever agreement they reached. As it's supposed to be, ASSU have to give this present administration time to review that MoU.
The MoU was signed in 2011 and not 2009, so I don't know where u got that from. Secondly, the Union had embarked on strike over this same issue in feb 2012. What has the government been doing since then? Sittin on their oars and waiting for the problem to resolve itself as they usually do I guess.

Lastly, Government is about continuity sir. The FGN is the FGN regardless of who occupies the office. Yar'Aadua signed it not as Yar'Adua but as the Federal government. Obasanjo wasn't the one who got us into a bad debt situation with the Paris club, but he paid them off anyways. Follow my drift? They are striking against the FG and not Jonathan.

The govt knew they wernt going to honour the agreement, why didn't they renegotiate the terms? We should learn to call a spade a spade.

curiouslad: Bunch of id10ts ,i actually cancelled a codecamp because i thought school would be in session

Btw why all ASUU strikes seem bordered on wage and allowance hikes Only
It is because what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

Government officials and the NASS members keep increasing theirs. Last year it was 1bill for feedin, this year, 1.3bill. U give the signal there is damn too much money for frivolities people would definitely swarm around u to get a piece of the action (like mobstars would say).

I have no doubt in my mind if the executive and the legislature start slashing their salaries, anyone wld dare raise the faintest voice demanding wage increase.
