@DavidDylan This section seriously has lost its fame, true or false? For me, I say a YES and opting for a change of any kinda event by the admin. Want here to come alive again like before. |
Well, if you say it's not loosing bit, try check dates and the post rates then compare with now. Over 50% declination especial here. If this thread doesn't make sense to the admin and members here, then, |
This section is falling and really needs revival. That is the point. If you say it's a lie, do you maths at least everyone here knows 1 + 1. |
The fact remains, any IDE that you know pretty well and it works for you, you use. For PHP, some use DW others use other IDEs like Zend and the rest. For HTML, some prefer DW others prefer their Homesite, Coffe cup, etc All that matters is how good are you using them? To the topic of this thread and some of the replies here, getting MM_ blah blah blah comes when you are using DW MX but never comes on DW 8 (correct me if wrong pls). For it to come is when you did the work on Fireworks then exported as HTML. When you open in DW 8, you then see all these MM_ stuffs. |
See what, I'm not afraid of a ban. Why? Provided I'm making a good point and feel I'm helping matters out. At least, any reasonable person will know I'm taking about "improvement" or what do you think? |
See why I complaining now? Not just too good for the newbies here. Well, some are still soon to leave as well. More will come but when they don't see a handful of content, they will still leave, don't you think so? Let me not raise any issues but leave it at this. Uspry1, you have really said it all. I was there when all those accusations were always pointed at you, asking you to unban and stuffs like that. Well, if a moderator like you can be off just the way other members too left, that means, maybe I just put it as end of time. In fact, the admin I think reads through and understands what I'm personally saying. This forum is falling and falling daily. Can't he understand it? He should have advisers who should have complained to him. If they haven't, I am now complaining. The forum is his anyway, he can do with it whatever he wills. But, I'm just being my brother's keeper so to say because no one knows tomorrow. |
@smartsoft Man, you understand what I was stressing out here. You know you get grey hair for here already ![]() @kehers Just not so easy bro. Don't just understand what is up here. More people should comment and let us see what the moderator has to offer to us as in what is happening here. |
@smartsoft Bro, I no fit count ooo ![]() |
For quite some months now, things in NL have greatly changed. I will focus on this section of the forum. Gone are the days when the forum used to be very hot with lots of topics here and there to tackle. Great men and women are off from here without intending to come back. If you care to ask, the reply you get is not just too nice to say even one here. What is actually wrong? Great people have been lost from here and lately, if you are observant enough, you will notice that our two moderators have simply reduced to one. Where has one gone? You don't need to ask at all. You just need to use your senses to understand what has happened. Demoted, may be banned, who knows? Uspry1 who would always raise and handle issues no longer has time for all those things now. Young programmers don't really seem to have where to lean on. All they do is come here, search for someone they can make friend with and get their problems solved then to hell with the forum. What is up here? Is Seun not aware of all these? Say sometime around June this year, alot of gurus were here. Whatever problem you put up, with the refresh of your browser, almost four (4) people are tackling it with great professionalism. Others learn from them but now, read through and see what is happening. Some are still trying to make it lively but something remains. Biblically, we were told that when salt looses its taste, it is thrown away and people step on it. Looking at this, there is no gainsaying if the webmasters section of NL has lost its taste. It really has. If you think it a lie, make a search and rate events from say May until now and give your feedbacks here. I still ask, what is wrong? I don't need to start calling names, asking for where these people are because I might be awakening anger from here and there though I don't really mind if I did even now. Just saying my mind because this is a forum and making useful posts as this is what it is meant for. We need a change here else, this is no longer the issue of ban. ELSE, THE REMAINING WILL LEAVE ALSO. Will NL remain? YES. But of what standard? I'll leave moderators and admin to speak to themselves on this issue. People have been banned, more will be banned, some have left and more will soon leave. NL will remain but, |
Come, Yawa, why them dey fear you sef? May be na Kehers dey cause am, or who? In fact, make that yawa gas sef ![]() Comments on the ebook, postponed until , Comments on the seminar, until the members of WOA really start appreciating the newsletters and frequenting the website to see what it has in stock then I'll say they are ready else, na lie ooo No Hard Feelings shaa. The basics The idea behind web accessibility is ensuring that everyone, regardless of their platform, browser or personal situation can easily browse your website. This often (but not always) involves the need for the following things: * High contrast versions of your pages being available * Alternate text being placed on links and images * Links being appropriately named, for those with text-to-speech browsers * Testing your site without Javascript and CSS turned on * Providing appropriate META data It’s not just about disability… Obviously, designing our websites with disabled users in mind is an important task, and something we shouldn’t take lightly. But the fact is that web accessibility applies to so many other areas as well. If you’re browsing websites on your iPhone, 3G Phone or even WAP mobile, you’d better hope that the designer considered accessibility when putting the site together. Nowadays, people can browse the internet on a TV or game console, kiosk machine, handheld computer, or even a fridge! Ensuring your designs are accessible mean that you don’t prevent these people from visiting your site. but that’s also important! Disabled users struggle when accessing websites for many reasons. Those who have sight problems won’t be able to pick out your intricate colour scheme, so providing an alternate – high contrast – CSS document will allow them to see your site clearly. Distinguishing links may also be a problem, so providing clear roll-over effects makes it obvious what can be clicked. For the same reason, text-to-speech browsers are available which read out the contents of a web page to the visitor. Using ALT text for images and clearly labeling links is vital here, so that someone can navigate your website without actually having the visual elements. People commonly also struggle to use a mouse and keyboard easily, and so use voice controlled browsers and software. |
@dvonne I'm happy you posted and are around to see what's happening on your thread. I hope responses are actually coming in. Check GTB, Check InterSwitch, Check eTranzact. |
regaltopax:If you know your mail function for PHP well, then you don't have any much questions to be asking here. Well, try the below for a simple contact page. The following is a lite version of the form: <form method="POST" action="mailer.php"> <input type="text" name="name" size="19"><br> <br> <input type="text" name="email" size="19"><br> <br> <textarea rows="9" name="message" cols="30"></textarea> <br> <br> <input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submit"> </form> Note the code that is colored in blue. The blue colored words will be useful for us. So, here is our PHP code. You should place the following code into a new file you create called mailer.php. <?php if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { $to = "you@you.com"; $subject = "Form Tutorial"; $name_field = $_POST['name']; $email_field = $_POST['email']; $message = $_POST['message']; $body = "From: $name_field\n E-Mail: $email_field\n Message:\n $message"; echo "Data has been submitted to $to!"; mail($to, $subject, $body); } else { echo "OmniPotens!"; } ?> Hope you understand it. Ask questions if confused especially about other fields not featured. |
Why waste much time when you have Google to do the job for you. After this time around, try designing yours based on different categories then keep them down so that you don't get much choked up this way again. Will post a link here as soon as I get a good source. |
jimmee:Give more details and their features. |
Yawa go soon ti de oooooo! What I meant by the days of Browser Compatibility has come and gone is based on the thread. It is no more ranking high like it did some weeks back. Your code, I stumbled on that kinda problem just some minutes before seeing your post and see what I did to rectify it. I don't care if it is correct now but since it solved my problem for now, I let it there for now. <ul style="margin: 0;"> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> </ul> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> You can correct me as no one is perfect. Just told you what I did to correct mine. More contributions on the main topic before. |
The days of "Browser Compatibility Issues" have come and gone. Here is another of its kind which I'll like to know what my colleagues out here have to say. This is somewhere we must surely look into else, we might be side-tracking our website surfers. Don't you think so? For me, I believe a website should be made accessible by all so that calls for what we think and what we do to ensure we achieve this aim. The whole thought now brought about the topic "What is Web Accessibility?" |
Hey, why not Google some good tutorials? I don't think it will be best for you to spend some money on what you can learn on your own. You've gotten the basics right? Else go to www.w3schools.com You have the basics there. There are lots of websites you can learn from. Send me a mail if you want more resources. I'll just hook you up with them. Needless spending more when there are many free for you to use. Cheers! |
@hustla If you need brushes, why not google them. I'll try get you an address by tomorrow where you can get some good brushes though they are on sale on the website. I'd still prefer you browse free brushes on google. |
How did you know what I wanted to say about the voting thing, Yawa? Why not cast your vote rancetech. Others interested might follow suit. |
I get your point. I'll make a better layout and see who I'll give it to (a newbie) so he can (we) do the job together. I got lots on my hands now else, I love something like this. ![]() |
@dvonne I hope you understand what Interswitch charges are at just like Yawa pointed out? I love that word powerful, love the site you are aspiring to have yours look like and other things. But, I hope you also understand that you will have to be spending more to gain more? Lastly, dvonne:. Guess what, this is one problem that people keep having that keep making me get upset. A fresher comes out of the institution and tries to get a job. All he/she sees is a four (4) years working experience blah blah blah. Where do they want him/her to get that experience from? Well, there are ways around this though. Don't ask me how. My point here is that, even a newbie can do you the best of what you need not want now. He/she might have acquired the best knowledge available to him/her, worked underground for months, even years so as to professionalize in the career and no running website to show. This doesn't make him/her a novice. A trial may convince you in their competence. Learn to try something new and fresh. After all, fresh fruits taste better than older ones which are seemingly getting soared. As for the proposal, ![]() NO HARD FEELINGS OOOO |
The very first time I was sent the link to this drudge report, I was really upset about the designs and everything but one thing that kept me on it at least for some weeks before I lost the link was the news there. Getting to know about the latest news was not a big deal if you knew about the drudge report even if the main details were not yet linked to a source. One thing I can say here is, "ideology" is the key. The owner has no time looking up designs to make it as professional as possible. All he wanted was to display news the best way he could to help people get access to them. That was all. He achieved what he wanted. What about other web developers? Most times, because you will like to integrate a particular kind of design, you simply end up not achieving the better side of your development which is bringing the original ideology of your design. Why? Simply because, it could not fit into the design you were trying to force it into. Lesson Do your own things your own way. Invent and Be a master planner. Never believe you are stoppable by anything even the rules because, someone made even the rules ! |
I tire for you sef. If not that you are a "f" I would have started by visiting you first but many out here are hanging to reach you. If I dare make a move ![]() You wan make yawa ti de abi? We are not yet done with mere notepad and you are bringing in VI. How many know it was ever existing? You are inviting yawa ooooo. I will seek "their" permission before storming your house. Hey wait, ok, you have DW. Is there still the need of coming or do I come so that , ![]() My life dey me precious ooooooo ![]() |
Don't mind smartsoft, I'll smack his ass but man you harsh oooo. You would have taken it easy naa. This is just a review thing. At the site, why not centralize the page. It's just aligned to the left and the right is just blank. Butttttttttttt, men, that intro just did to me what smartsoft complained shaa before I gave a second trial. I just want to be mild in saying mine. I have shockwave player and flash palyer installed yet, my browser closed. Hmm, REMOVE THE INTRO ENTIRELY Don't bother amending it. It's not really needed I think. There are more to say but first integrate what others here have said then more will be said else you might end up not even understanding where to start editing from. |
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssseeeeeeeeeee, implement what Sam and WebMonk has said before any further corrections. I'll not say what I saw until then. |
Until someday, maybe when I visit you, I will confirm your case ![]() Whose next on my row |
Just try be more focused and before then pls God, you'll have something to show. Keep working harder bro. Same goes to all fellas in here too ![]() |
For beginners, I maintain NOTEPAD. One question I will still ask is, all the advanced programmers in here, please, frankly tell me if you have a WYSIWYG editor on your PC? I will start visiting you one after the other to check this oooo. I will not tell a lie here. I love NOTEPAD like craze because of flexibility but WYSIWYG editor is still there at the background. No lies. In fact, Adobe CS4 is just there standby ![]() |
@kehers That is exactly what is causing the whole problem. Well, thanks for your cares and how about your proposed project? How good is it doing? |
