It is pretty nice to understand that this also goes out to other countries and not just peculiar to Nigeria. One thing is understanding that the two are not the same thing and another is dropping one for the other or learning the curves around the two and utilizing them well. No need making one good and abusing the other. |
I'm still surprised this hasn't been sorted out. @Yawa Thanks for the much help so far. @poster Was too busy to be online but will try to be there today. At least from 15:00. Check at me by then. |
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-17942.0.html Go and learn from there. It's very good you start from the basics and there also, you'll find answers to your questions. |
Reasons for this please. |
I'm happy you all pretty understand what I meant here. Kudos to you all. Keep contributing as there is someone here who even until now is still doubting having read the posts here. He is of the side that a web designer and a graphics designer is the same. The difference being that the graphics designer knows no code. |
I pretty understood when I read through all new posts in this section this morning. Well, don't really take it too personal. We all are in this things together. Cheers and continue your good works! |
Kemjisuper:Well, Kemjisuper, I have read on another thread in this section, the one you started sometime in 2007 or so, you attacking Smartsoft, what really is it all about. Or is it because he was asking to close the thread because it is an old one or what? At least, he contributed, didn't he? What is the fight all about? Wondering at that. As for the spamming thing, can you please explain better? |
Why are most web designers not good at graphics? All you seem to see is just some what I'll call craps. Sorry if that hurts, but it's real. Is it that they just jumped into the industry, learnt HTML and of course some layouting, then into the industry? Could it be that graphics it not meant for them? Just wondering. This thread will still span through other sections revolving these two group anyway. |
smart and soji, seems you duo are the champions in here or what? All is just letting you both do your thing the way you want out here. What's really behind this? |
Why not let the graphics and video remain together then the adverts go to a chiuld board? @Smartsoft Nice that you've kinda separated into categories but are the others mainly based on this section in support? Their views will do alot here I think. |
@Smartsoft This is an aside though, IM me for something relating to your website. |
Any big thing wrong with signonafrica? I think you should let us know in time before people start complaining about one or two things after some days ahead. ![]() |
This thread is just not an easy one. Just as people vary, so is their ideologies too. There are no rules to this. Do you think but smartly, in you own way. Why did I say so? One man's food is another man's poison. Only ideas on how to tackle it depending on circumstances is what we stand to gain here. IMO, that is what I feel. |
A friend sent me this link yesterday You guys in here are damn too funny. ![]() |
I agree with you all as well. Contents are really getting mixed up so much here. Another thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-202934.0.html is suggesting a different thread for Advertisng Media people who work in advertising. Well, let's hope the Admin will do something here. |
Are you suggesting a child board just like the "Web Design and Hosting Advert" separate board you have on the webmasters section? If that is exactly what you want, then let fellas in here decide if that will serve a better purpose though I see the need for it. If they okay it, the Admin is there to contact and he adds it in for the section. All is geared towards promoting the forum after all. ![]() |
This thread really is a good one for this month. It has kind of brought up summaries of how we have ran our business through the years and until now. Not bad at all. The contributions so far has brought into view what we experience in the course of our career. @smartsoft, thanks for this thread. It's really a good one. More thing I'll be saying here is, do we really understand what "copyright" is? Pals, you should not let anything stop you from transacting your business the way you like and want it. Or do you think there is a static rule as at what should go or not go? At least this thread has show from her contributing web developers/designers and all category of posters, that there stand no rules. Do it the best way you profit the most. If we begin now to make use of our legal rights, man, there is not much to worry about your work(s). Can any of you boost of taking a picture of a well artist, say from a paid database, having copyright rules governing it, freely, use the image for any of your concept, in one way or the other, the owners come across it, you are not queried by them? Soji and Smartsoft, you fully understand what I'm saying here as you are into graphics very much. All that company you bridged their copyright law needs to do is simply to serve you papers from the court and fine you. Is Diamond bank not facing something like that now or was it a rumour Check around you for cases like this and you will understand they are existing.2008 is at dawn. 2009 is almost ripe enough to drop in. Add a new face to your services. "HAVE LEGAL BACKING" for your business. Just try and implement this and see what happens. Even if your portfolio can speak better for you, wait until you get a good deal as in to do a country's website and like Summarily, there is no need including those footers on websites saying "copyright (c) blah blah blah" if we don't implement them. If you feel it doesn't work, fall into the hands of those serious about theirs and see how well they'll be happy to welcome you .@Smartsoft, hope I made a point here at least with this kinda long write up ? |
All those charges both phone calls have been estimated to be part of the bill presented during the proposal. This is more reason why we should verify and consider all these before preparing and submitting proposals. |
I saw your codes though I've not really tested them. What I'm saying is that you should look and check your PHPMyAdmin not the codes you pasted. Or, can you create a snapshot of your DB? I think looking at what you have there could also be of help. Check to see when I'm online on Y! then IM me. |
@charliebiz See something you should do. Go to your PHPMyAdmin, check at the tables you created, does any of them have a space (%20 or   in between? Eg. Date of birth (not adviceable) try DOB (recommended). Those spaces could be causing you that error. More so, go get a PHP manual to help you out with those PHP and MySQL references you require. |
@yawa Thanks for you suggestion. This is one secret people don't know yet. When you make your clients realize you always have them in mind especially during festivals and other events, they'll have you in mind as well, to always patronize you. I think so many are not integrating this concept and as such, it's not too good a practice from them. Those here who are not putting this into practice should give it a trial and see how good it tastes. |
As the year gradually draws to an end, you as a web designer/ developer/ programmer, etc, what do you offer your clients for patronizing you during the year and making you achieve your dreams of the concluding year? HAPPY DECEMBER! ![]() |
They can always send you even more convincing mails or place longer minute calls just to get you do the job. Remember, once you don't have an agreement down and SIGNED by both parties then you are really joking. You might be paying with your time and energy. |
WebMonk:Thanks for understanding. No much words here at all. A binding agreement does the magic. You sign and I sign and I get paid based on what is there and I do the job. It's my risk if I don't have anything binding or safeguarding me, my work and profession. Cheers pals! |
Aren't you guys tired yet? Look, I make use of Zend studio my PHP or PHP Designer. I'm switching to PHP Maker Ver 5. Who cares how I did the job? For HTML, my DW is there, no doubts. I make good use of it though I must confess that I start with my notepad. Don't know why but think because I started learning with it. No matter how much work I do there, I still get it to DW for more editing. |
I've experienced this lately too. Two people and one was from this forum. I uploaded the home page. After that, he was off. Next now, I saw him upload the web with some modifications. All I did was to remind him of the copyright notice which backed our agreement. Made him see I was too serious and would legally hunt him if I saw my that design anywhere. He had no option than to remove the site immediately though he tried proving stubborn. I think members should get their firms registered and back up every work they do legally so this kinda thrash will stop occurring. I hate it and hate it and hate it. Too bad. Bro, thanks for sharing jare. This has been on my mind. Thought I was the only suffering it but since others are also experiencing it, we had better chosen a good option to counter such acts. |
fizo, there are many of them out there. I just took out 5 mins of my time to get those links verified before I sent them here. I downloaded to make sure the templates were okay before posting. You can do the same too. Just get to Google and search. More are there. Will take you little time. I do my designs from scratch else I'll have known more links but try those I posted and make a research on Google for more. |
Thanks for this link and welcome back! |
Alas, after months, you are back to do what you know how to do well. Don't mind me anyway, just kinda happy about it. Welcome back Moderator USPRY1! ![]() |
@Gamine What are you actually saying here? |
