WebmastersRe: Website Review ( New ) by OmniPotens(m): 10:43am On Oct 10, 2008
@ smartsoft

I have the following suggestions to make.

::: index2 ::: The three table rows containing images should be reduced to two. From my own opinion, the adpage.swf and 2.jpg could be placed while new.jpg removed. This helps to better appreciate the "above the fold" talked about by yawa. Moreso, since the new.jpg appears on all the pages, it could be skipped here to allow for immediate comprehension of the web resources.

The learn more below should be reduced. From what I guess, you tried using the web 2.0 technology. It is okay though but try a smaller image to see what difference it would make.

We talk later on Y! wink
WebmastersRe: Who Can Design This Great Website by OmniPotens(m): 5:52pm On Oct 08, 2008
I wonder what is the big deal in installing forum. Even you the poster can do something on this if you read the manual pretty well.

@smartsoft, are you sure a night will not be enough for the task?

@yawa, I tire for a church forum with that adsense ad shocked

@uspry

The TBS stuff is better understood by Nigerians especially those residing at Lagos. I hope you now understand what smartsoft was trying to point out wink

WebmastersRe: Hacking Website With Google Search Engine by OmniPotens(m): 5:32pm On Jul 18, 2008
This is a nice information to note.

I can see that the book is on sale probably at your website. I think it is better for you to simply inform webmasters that this is a paid for manual obtainable at your website as well. It will help build more trust than pile up empty words in the site of many.

@ smartsoft

Bro take it easy. This might not really be their fault. It might be as a result of lack of early exposition to the computer world. All they need to start doing at this point is to start learning. If they have realized that they need the knowledge of computer but yet remain unmoved to learn then it is their ignorance and as such, they don't deserve help but critics.

@ first_lady

If what you mean here is simply creating simply hyperlinks then see below for a sample of what you could do.

Where you want to make a link

<a href="URL">Text/Image</a>

You can add "target="_blank" if you want it to open in a new window: <a href="URL" target="_blank">Text/Image</a>

If this solves your question then good luck learning.

Yes, in this case my crying over spilt milk is justified. We need to note the proper use of the term. So it isn't "all this". Remember, there are younger ones coming in after us.

Folks, this isn't personal in any way. It's strictly business grin[/quote]This is more than just business. It is a must do so as to keep the good standards for the little ones coming after us to follow. When we don't create the better pace for them, will we blame them in the future when they start stumbling. But we actually showed them the wrong route after all.

Things should and must be done properly. This is my stand. No hard feelings.

yawa, please try to review the webmaster rule to avoid anything near to "BAN". This will not be a good experience.

See me thinking you are in Nigeria o! tongue

A boiler plate template as you say is still a template
so whats the Template without another plate in front of it?
Why not utilize the correct term? It is good to take note of things like this because someday you might find yourself out there and when you say something, it will be mistaken for another. Just pick the lil' correction Bro.
WebmastersRe: Designing From The Heart ! by OmniPotens(m): 10:51pm On Jul 13, 2008
@yawa

9ce one there. I was already thinking about that after making the post but presumed that he would understand. I have taken note. I think the better option here is to always pick out the code likely to have the error or present an image of the error observed so that the webmaster will understand from where to start fixing his errors. Another would be to present the webmaster with solution if possible.

Cheers!

@webhaccker

I guess you have been given the solution to your problem. The next thing you should do here is to go get knowledge of PHP if you are still confused about this include or require stuff. For me, I think the include is a better choice because it is just a single line of PHP statement but it does all you want it to do. It is better and faster. If integrated a lot of places in your web pages, it could help reduce loading time too.
WebmastersRe: Help Needed Very Urgently by OmniPotens(m): 10:12pm On Jul 11, 2008
If you feel lazy typing the entire questions here, you can shorten the questions into major keywords for a better result from the search engines.

WebmastersRe: Designing From The Heart ! by OmniPotens(m): 11:43am On Jul 11, 2008
@ webbullion

Men, you really have to work on your content management. Check your websites using at least IE and FF to make sure that they are compatible. Some images are overflowing. Your search engines and newspaper links are not really helping issues. It's making the whole thing kinda childish especially the web in green. Check your date scripts where you put them. Well, these for now. Maybe some more later.
WebmastersRe: Website Review | Www.seekvice.com by OmniPotens(m): 11:12am On Jul 11, 2008
Nice layout. It is okay and I hope when it comes functional, it will be better.

You have done a nice work there.

Keep it up!

ok compare sweet wine forum, with the nairaland forum, let's know what the difference is.
What point are you actually trying to stress here? If you want over a hundred forum addresses, I can post them all here but at the end, what do you want to point out to be the main critique point? Functionality? Beauty?? Whathuh

WebmastersRe: Criticize The Nairaland Website by OmniPotens(m): 7:46pm On Jul 10, 2008
I don't think there is anything wrong with nairaland. Her functionality is okay and serves the purpose it is meant for. The only issues might be upgrades which is not a compulsion. It's a choice left for the Admin to make and take actions.
WebmastersRe: What Exactly Is A Template? by OmniPotens(m): 12:53pm On Jul 10, 2008
SawyerrKen, what you said is actually correct. Even if you make use of your own, some see if that you are not capable. Frankly speaking anyway, templates help make jobs get easier. If you are kinda clueless, you could borrow ideas and integrate and get your job done well.
WebmastersRe: How Kan I Become A Web Content Manager? by OmniPotens(m): 11:16am On Jul 10, 2008
@ uspry1

I agree with you. I think the next thing is for the poster (ozoluaohis) to check if the required is obtainable else I think he/her should go start from the first step (HTML and CSS) then ,
WebmastersRe: Critics Needed by OmniPotens(m): 10:41am On Jul 10, 2008
I think SeanT21 is trying to say that you should try changing the ocean image to something better. I also think the same way too. Check for a new landscape or better picture portraying Australia and put in place of the ocean. Well, just as Dual Core suggested, upload it to your server as it will give room for a better view and critique.

smartsoft:
well my blog aren't for making money though, have something that brings in money for me, i just love to share the word CREATIVITY that lead me in creating www.ucheugo.com as a blog
Just as you said, people are like you. Those with your ideology even make the best out of their blogs. You have the time to make good write-ups for your blogs.

People most times complain that there are no guests visiting their blogs but if you actually visit their blog, you will never plan of coming back again. Their posts are pointless. They just copy and paste things that are not worth it. At the end of the day, they complain and over complain even.

I think I will start asking them to visit better blogs to find out what others succeeding are doing before they come back to complain again.
WebmastersRe: 3 Nigerians, 368 Others Compete For Microsoft Laurel by OmniPotens(m): 11:10am On Jul 08, 2008
Nice news yawa.

I think this will help webmasters get more serious doing their programming things rather than get loose on the forum, fighting over what shouldn't really bother them. Personally, I'm going to strive to know if I will get listed as one of the Nigerian contestants for the next edition of the competition.
