Fuel subsidy needs to go because it is a sinkhole and bottomless pit of corruption. The less the federal government is involved in the money from our oil resources, the better for us. This board to be constituted many be from political affiliates of the president for now, but that would certainly change in the future. The first step is always the hardest. Who knows, maybe sometime in the future, after cleaning up the sector, a form of assistance may be accorded to the masses if hardship increases, but the current system is simply not sustainable. At least we can hold the members of this new board accountable if we smell a rat. ![]() |
dayokanu:Obviously, you are a pure m0r0n who cannot think. Why am I even responding to this m0ron? Steps over the piece of crap. ![]() @Nigerians, we will never be able to march in Nigeria or conduct "Occupy" anything in Nigeria, until we drag mass murderers to ICC. [b]ALL Nigerian civil society groups take note! |
dayokanu:Dayo, you are not an intelligent person at all. Why are you this daft? ![]() Assuming for a moment that you have a devilish hate for Ojukwu and Biafra, what about other Nigerians who are dying daily from extra-judicial killings, and their killers are continuing in their trade, denying Nigerians of the right to gather and protest? Do you ever think of them at all? I am resolutely taking this argument far above your level (morbid fixation with Ojukwu). ![]() The ICC has MANY potential culprits in Nigeria, and I won't let one individual stop me. If I can't get Adekunle, there are others and I am focusing on them. Grow a brain for once in your miserable life. ![]() |
Jenifa_:Then don't stop laughing, only be sure to be called a fool. There are currently many universities in Nigeria with truly weird characters named after them. ![]() You people are really trying in futility to mock a man who God has blessed and elevated his name above those of his enemies in Nigeria. It will not change anything. The glory days of UNN have even passed because Nigeria has corrupted it. I almost wept the day I visited the Enugu campus of that school. It is now a shadow of its old self. Some of us alumni won't even mind a name change to something more passionate. You can take your "University of Nigeria" to another state and zone of mediocrity. ![]() |
dayokanu:My friend your uncle (Adekunle) is still alive and may well be dragged to that court. His genocidal exploits are well documented. The onus is on his victims in SE/SS to drag is old dark @ss there. Pray they don't do that. For me, I am more interested in seeing recent and current war criminals, genociders and extra-judicial killers in Nigeria today dragged there. All these so called civil society groups in Nigeria are so dumb that I wonder whether any of their leaders ever saw the four corners of any university. It only takes dragging one or two of such people to that court for Nigerians to earn the right to gather and march like in Arab countries. Nigerians will NEVER be free to gather and march anywhere in Nigeria, until some Nigerian men in authority are sent to ICC. Mark my words. ![]() |
Umunne m, o di nma, agha ebigo! ![]() That is what makes us a great people. We know where to draw the lines and hapu ihe nile bere na abali ka oburu anwu nta! ![]() Please I beg you in the name of God and in the spirits of our ancestors to do me one favor. If any Igbo EVER again makes a statement implying that there is any difference between one Igbo person and another, please give that person a "virtual slap". If offline, then execute the slap physically (provided you can escape if the guy is stronger looking ) . Fact remains that we are one nation and one people. Enugu city remains the everlasting capital of Eastern Nigeria. There are other contenders, but our unity is far more important than any other consideration. Enugu guarantees our unity as a people who shared common formative history in Nigeria. Agbachakwaa egwu, o laa n'ukwu (hip) -(all dance moves must involve the hip). All Easterners, from Abakaliki to Calabar, from Arochukwu to Agbor ( ), and ALL Nigerians who accommodate us and don't kill us, are our brothers. Even if we decide to leave Nigeria at any point in the future, it should be through brotherly agreement. Enugu is home for all of us! ![]() This mall will be hugely successful, and thrive because it is the first of its type in the East, and all stops would be pulled to make it viable. Ingenious management is all that is needed to make it successful. As a pioneer, it would be a case study for other states in Nigeria to copy and implement. Ndi n'eme ya na obodo oyibo, ha ebu isi asaa? C'mon! ![]() Please my brothers, there is no dictatorship anywhere in Igboland. It is our cradle and contribution to the human political systems, and we are proud of it. You don't need to attack me or the office of Eze Ndigbo Nairaland because you think I may be biased (which I vow never to do). Just lay your arguments as clearly and as powerfully as you want. Otu a ka anyi si eme ya na Alaigbo. When all arguments (devoid of insults to fellow Igbo groups, states and peoples) are made, we all will gladly support it, irrespective of whether it shows anyone's state or group in bad light. Anyi ga na agwa onwe anyi eziokwu. Lying to ourselves is one of the worst things we can do to ourselves.Let us all be joyful and continue to pray for other good things to saturate Igboland, Eastern Nigeria and Nigeria as a whole. Thank you all! ![]() |
Nchara:I always believe that as long as this world keeps changing, anything is possible. I don't hold much hope for trial of some civil war actors (it may happen though ), but I am more interested in making sure that more recent and current civil rights criminals in Nigeria, those responsible for extra-judicial killings in Nigeria, are brought to justice. It is very important that we stop the culture of impunity and "God" syndrome in Nigerian leaders. I would never be happy until some Nigerians are dragged to that court. If that court is honest enough, it must host some Nigerian war criminals very soon. ![]() |
Congrats to a great Nigerian and a son of Igboland. Don't know, but maybe this guy can help Nigerians file cases of war crimes against some Nigerian war criminals who commit gross human rights violations and extra-judicial killings. It is time Nigerians start dragging these men to that court. Maybe this guy can help. |
Obiagu1:My brother Obiagu1, I don't know what purpose deleting this thread would serve, especially when it contains some information about how we Ndigbo relate with ourselves and our leaders. I would never support masking faults. Maybe when others take full advantage of it and teach us the lesson of our lives, then, Igbo people would learn to be reasonable. For me, the issue now is not even this mall. The issue is our people's tendency to attack and ridicule their leaders without any sane justification. Why are our people always eager to attack and ridicule their leaders as their first line of defence against any perceived grievance? Take this character Bandit.C for example. If he did not like what I said about BOTH Enugu and Onitsha, why didn't he simply tell me that I was wrong and lay down his own argument? Did I ridicule his state or people in any way? The story I shared was REAL and TRUTH. Did my fault rise to the level at which he needed to ridicule Ndigbo (because frankly I don't give a damn about anything )? Why are we always quick to attack and ridicule our leaders?Take a look at Amb Ralph Uwechue for example. At a stage I was wondering why he barely made any speeches. Bros he is guarding against insults from his fellow Igbo folks. That has been Ojukwu's lot throughout his life of struggle. It is one thing to hold personal opinions and air them powerfully. It is the height of stooopidty and idiocy for any sane human to attack and ridicule his leader whether he voted for him or not. Politically sophisticated groups understand the importance of rallying round their leaders. Even if you don't want to rally round him/her, don't attack and ridicule his office. Igbo enwe eze is very real, but we must also accept to serve others for as long as this earth exists. So, the mods can decide to delete it if they want. I won't ask them. About Chino11, I have SEVERALLY in the past cautioned and even verbally abused him here. At a stage he fought back and I still chided and left him. To my surprise, some of our brothers from other SE states lob me, Chino11 and other Anambra people into that same group. What else can I do? Now you have a professional maggot and hyena called Alj_Harem coming here to add his goat mouth into dividing Igboland to suit his demonic agenda. Umu Igbo, I will tell you again. There is no superior or inferior Igbo in Igboland. That is the most stoopid ideology for anyone of us to nurse whether openly or subliminally. There is no superior or inferior SE state. We are ALL THE SAME. Even Nigerians states are all the same. Whoever doesn't like this fact is free to take a bath in a super concentrated acid. Unu ekwesigo imara ihe. Else, onye obuna zaa afa nna ya. ![]() My mission is to defeat this stoopidity that has held us down in Nigeria. Unu chozikwa, anyi akuwasiba ife nine. Onye obuna jiri ire ya guo eze ya onu. I won't say these again. ![]() |
manchy7531:I decided to go "common" because I wanted to send the message loud and clear to you all my Igbo brothers, that your title is only as valuable and respectable as the value and respect you Igbo people here accord it. Nothing more, nothing less. I would ignore certain characters provided they don't attack and insult me for sharing an honest opinion. Onye obuna fie isaa n'anya. ![]() |
FACE:Abu m A GREAT LION. I won't say more for privacy reasons. @second bolded That is why I am locating in Enugu. Nothing is stopping me. ![]() FACE, I will ask some questions later. Thanks. |
Bandit C.:So, if anybody told you that Enugu state has more roads than Anambra state, you would believe him? Have you ever been to rural Anambra state? It is even the height of idiocy for anyone to call Anambra state "dirty". Anambra does not begin and end at Onitsha upper Iweka road. I won't go into this your slow attempt to compare Anambra and Enugu states. That information will come from a non-Anambra citizen, or maybe someone of your level of IQ; certainly NOT ME. You can believe whatever you want. We ain't of the same class and mettle. You are a bush goat nevertheless. Chukwu kpo gi oku. . |
Let me use this opportunity again to warn my fellow Igbo brothers. The title you gave me is as valuable as the respect you accord it. If you want I can help you to dump it in a trash can, TODAY. The title is innocent and without any known values except respect. Onye obuna kwanyere onwe ya ugwu o! Unu ruo ebe unu ga akpa ike, unu enoo amu n'afo. Unu fu nwanne unu, amu ekenie unu! ![]() Nonsense. |
FACE:When I started to share the story, I stated clearly that I was telling the whole truth. No sensationalism whatsoever. You are right, the lady was STARTING her business then when she made that error. She is based in Enugu and thought she could depend on rough market analysis to do her first import business. She failed, but that doesn't change the fact that her prognosis of the mall is apt. Let me even share how this message came about. I was discussing with this lady that I would like to site my company in Enugu. Her first response to me was DON'T. My first reaction was that of bewilderment and agitation. I told her how I have always planned to site my company in Enugu and all. That was when she made the statement "Ego adiro na Enugu". She advised me (based on what I plan to do) to take it to Abuja. Of course I'm not listening to her because my company would not be into buying and selling. It is a service/consulting company. So, I insisted I will site it in Enugu when the International airport becomes functional. Now, that is the Enugu that I love. I attended UNEC and lived there for 5 years while studying there. So, I love this town. I wouldn't let any goat discourage me. ![]() |
phreakabit:Nna you people should leave Anambra state alone! Anyi atadiri ome ji unu? ![]() Why is everyone here yapping about the actions of ONE Anambra boy here? What about others? Just face the Chino11 guy and insult him back. Stop accusing Anambra people of things we know nothing about. Everything I said about Enugu is true, and I didn't say it because I wanted to deride Enugu. None of the idiots here ,eg this goat called Bandit.C can stop my claims over Enugu, just like no one can stop my claims over other parts of Igboland, Eastern Nigeria and Nigeria as a whole. You only wake up to talk when you see Chino11, then suddenly it is Anambra people this, Anambra people that. ![]() Our unity as a people would be impossible if we don't lose inferiority complexes plaguing some of us. |
Bandit C.:I had decided to ignore you completely, but I figure that there will be many more like you within my "term" trying to score some cheap idiotic points against "Eze Ndigbo Nairaland". Many more like you will try to insult themselves because they think that my hands are tied and I cannot swing back. O buru na agbaghi uzo owelle mgba, odighi echi. My friend, you are grossly mistaken. ![]() I was a witness to the type of insults and abuse Ojukwu suffered in the hands of fellow Igbos, and I OnlyTruth, Ezigbo nwa Anaedo will not accept such abuse from anybody. So, my friend your insult stops now. Umu anuofia nwuru anwu na adiro asa ahu bia ebea ikpari ndi di ndu. ![]() You and your likes are complete idiots and have nothing to brag about except a city we all built together. ![]() What are you puffing about? One man from my town can buy your entire odd village. What gives you the right to insult me? Stuppid Goat. |
Lasinoh:I quite agree. ![]() |
Nchara:Firstly, Ojukwu belongs to Eastern Nigeria. He even belongs to Nigeria. If anyone wants to be less charitable, he belongs to Ndigbo. |
Nchara:I'm still buying a plot of land somewhere near Trans-Ekulu (Enugu) February next year (as soon as this lady friend returns to Enugu). The town is the capital of Eastern Nigeria. Those educated enough know that. Internet claimants can't change that. ![]() |
Obiagu1:I'm wondering too! ![]() What would happen if and when Enugu International Airport comes on? Then some idiots would come to tell us that Enugu is not ours. |
@Bandit C I did not respond on time because I was busy. Sorry for my late reply. I hope your anger at my person is not because of the "eze ndigbo" title here. Nwanne I don't think you should insult Ndigbo with your tantrums and rants because of that. Only a fool would worry about an innocuous online exercise. I accepted the title out of respect and love for Ndigbo. Nothing more. It would not stop me from speaking the truth always, insult or no insult. I have severally (on this site) wondered how Ojukwu was able to survive for 3 years. To me, that was his greatest achievement as the Biafran head of state. I read a book about how fellow Igbos were giving Ojukwu's location co-ordinates to Nigerian air-force intelligence, enabling them to conduct precision bombings on Ojukwu's locations. That was why Ojukwu developed a mystic about his person and positions throughout the war. Reading from you reminded me of what our people are good at -fighting their own brothers instead of outside enemies. The mall has somehow intoxicated you that you've lost your mind completely. I still maintain that I worry about its viability. Let me tell you why. The friend I discussed about earlier was among the first people to seek a shop at this mall. She says that a shop is N420,000 minus security and other deposit for every quarter (3 months). She says that to make it, a shop owner has to make at least N1 million every three months; but she withdrew because she swears that there is no way a shop owner would make such money from there, unless they are making the money elsewhere. That money is what shop owners of such class in Onitsha and Nnewi make in ONE month. She insists that there is no money in Enugu, and gave me another example. On starting her business, she imported one container of goods (bicycles) from China, paid N320,000 to haul it all the way to Enugu city. When it got there, she couldn't sell it, and had to send it all the way back to Lagos. You know what happened? The same container was sold to another guy at Lagos, who then sent it to Onitsha. The rest is history. She swore NEVER to attempt big business again in Enugu. She also said that Ogbete (Enugu's primary commercial center) is really sustained by Onitsha. This is someone talking from experience. Nna, I insist that you have complex issues. There are many fellow Igbos here with such complex. Oburo tata ka anyi fubara awusa na uta. ![]() This is the whole truth. ![]() |
asha 80:I tend to think that Peter Obi is somehow irresponsible; not in managing money o. He is not responsible enough to understand the CURRENT possibilities of Anambra state. He sees himself as this village headmaster making sure that basic things are provided prudently. A great administrator would still be financially prudent, provide basic infrastructure, and still transform the urban cities of Anambra state. Also Anambra is yet to develop "happy hour" infrastructure which attract people to want to live there. I expect a great Anambra governor to ingeniously mobilize private capital to develop new areas. I think they've started developing the "Anam New City", but it would take a while to attract enough attention. |
Bandit C.:Nairaland bu chi fo anu ozo! hehe! ![]() Imagine this man telling me that Enugu is his city as if my people made no contribution to its current status. Nna, I don't know what school you attended, but please stop disgracing yourself and your so called "school". Umunna, I hope y'all see part of why Enugu Airport is there, while some are lobbying for an International Airport at Anambra state. ![]() Is that how we shall get there? I would use this opportunity to THOROUGHLY chide your type. You were the first to sack other Igbos when Enugu state was created, and in doing so poisoned Igboland that today Abia state is doing the same. Shame of you! ![]() I repeat, any SANE Enugu state citizen should be VERY ashamed of you. Tufiakwa! ![]() |
Nchara:I completely agree. ![]() |
Bandit C.:So, you are telling a Ngwo (original Enugu) lady to move her business out of Enugu? Nna, inwere serious complex issues. Any Enugu guy should be ashamed of you. Who are you even fighting? Look around, you are fighting yourself! Na wa. ![]() |
asha 80:No, I disagree completely. I can even tell you that most traders these days in Onitsha are secondary school graduates. Igboland has since moved on from complete illiteracy. However, that is what I call HALF EDUCATION, which is dangerous. Can high school graduates set up successful corporations? How many of them (anywhere in the world) can do that? We need UNIVERSITY level of education to create a resident population that can think of businesses like franchises, and other corporate service based businesses instead just buying and selling. That educated population, and corporate businesses would be easier to tax, than traders. |
I thoroughly mulled over what I'm about to say now because I don't want to add fuel to the fire burning down the unity of Igboland. Nevertheless this information is important and would help give insight about this mall. My initial fear about it is encapsulated in my little analyses below. I therefore swear, that everything I shall say below is the TRUTH, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help me God. About Enugu city: Enugu is my "home" town, as it is the same for every Eastern Nigerian. So, I would not lie against it. Right now, with me, is a lady visitor (an indigene of Enugu state) who come to spend Christmas with us here in the States. She was there when this mall opened and (being of high income status) she frequented there before coming to visit us here. She owns a hotel on Chime Avenue in Enugu. She tells me that Enugu babes now shop once at Shoprite, and then save the plastic bag. When next they go to Ogbete main market, they brandish the bag along the way as if they just shopped at Shoprite! It is allowed now. ![]() When I inquired after her hotel and business generally, she told me pointblank, "Ego adiro na Enugu" (there is no money in Enugu). She was saying it with some sadness in her voice. She told me that Enugu is a "civil servant town". Her hotel (quite a great looking hotel ) charges from N6000 to N15,000 (lowest to highest rooms). At that point, I recalled that a hotel (far less in quality) was charging a minimum of N10,000 in Nnewi. I consoled her and told her that we are lobbying the federal government seriously for the Enugu International Airport to come on stream fast so we can locate businesses in Enugu. I tried my best to convince her to stay in Enugu and wait for the coming transformation. She says that Enugu is changing daily though and things are moving up slowly for the town (she reassured me to keep faith). I hope that some of my Enugu state brothers understand that Enugu is not just an Enugu state property, just like Onitsha is not only an Anambra state property. We are ALL developing it and lobbying for federal government projects to be located in them (river port at Onitsha and airport at Enugu). It is the height of idiocy for any individual to come and start beating chest over what we all achieved together both in Onitsha and Enugu. About Onitsha city: It is clear fact that Onitsha is batting far below capacity due to the strategy of development ( I say ineptitude ) of Peter Obi administration in Anambra state. Yes, Peter Obi is developing rural Anambra state, but what about the urban cities? Ha emelu aru? Who says that he cannot develop BOTH urban and rural part of the state simultaneously?Another thing is that Onitsha needs to host at least ONE University, because the level of illiteracy in that town is appalling. That is what gives the impression that there is no money in Onitsha, when in fact it may have more private money than any other Eastern town. One University located there would gradually change the population and create an educated residents who can set up corporate businesses more. Here I stand. ![]() |
asha 80:I wonder what they gain by these stoopid local fights. ![]() When the real fight with outsiders come, most of them run away. Believe me, our brothers are very very stoopid! ![]() |
Ufeolorun:Thank you very much. ![]() |
Bandit C.:My brother the bolded is exactly why I wanted you to tone it down, because I know from experience, and no thanks to some deluded Anambra folks on this forum, that it would soon become a local contest. ![]() Please I do not believe that any Eastern or even Nigerian state is "greater" than the other. It is all a matter of how each develops its potential. Obviously as an Eastern Nigerian man, I would prefer that our region becomes the economic hub of Nigeria (no apologies about that ). So, please calm down and ignore any provocation. Enugu TOWN is an Eastern Nigerian town (being our de facto capital ) . We all own it! ![]() |
Bandit C.:I believe he meant Enugu STATE not just Enugu town. Even at that, I doubt that Enugu town residents control more money than Onitsha town residents. But let's not make this thread an intra SE states/towns contest. It plays into the hands of certain people from outside our region. Let every state in Eastern Nigeria copy this for their most viable towns -Rivers, Imo, Akwa-Ibom, Ebonyi, Enugu, Cross-Rivers, Abia, Anambra, and Delta. Thanks. ![]() |
JamesDoe: ![]() I swore I wasn't going to post on this thread due to personal reasons, but this guy just cracked me up so bad! Am I that enigmatic? If Okija_juju is OnlyTruth, then Satan must be God! lol I'm really enjoying this thread because of some talented comedians here. ![]() |
