Posted by: chy101 Onlytruth, So I should leave my job and start taking pictures around the city of Awka just to convince you on the workability of Anambra state. No picture whatsoever can clearly describe the good works of Peter Obi in Anambra. The gov is silently revolutioning Anambra, you may not see it now, but this man Peter Obi has gone far in creating enabling environment that recently made major multinationals to queue in line seeking attention to invest in Anambra. You (just like anybody else here) are entitled to your opinions especially as regards whether Peter Obi is working or not. I had challenged you once to post pictures, now you tell me that you are busy working. I understand all that, but I still maintain that pictures speak louder than words. If I were you I would support my claims with pictures no matter how hard it may be for me to accomplish. But MY MAIN CONCERN with your style of making your points here is that you operate in a "Anambra cocoon" of sorts. You fail to realize that Anambra state is Igboland, and Imo and other Igbo states are also Igboland. ![]() You have this zero sum game mindset whereby any non-Anambra state's gain is Anambra state's loss. Why wouldn't a thoroughbred Anambra son be happy for other Igbo states? That is what raised my suspicion of whether you are truly an Anambra son. I grew up in Onitsha, and believe me when I read some of what you say about our Imo brothers I wish I could punch you through this screen. The greatest threat to Igboman's survival in Nigeria are Igbos who can't use their brains while dealing with other Igbos. That is why I blow the fuse anytime I run into any of them anywhere. Until folks see pictures of what Obi is doing in the place you live (Awka, the last time I checked), then please be reticent and subtle in your claims. I will be one of your "oti mkpus" here if you post the damn pictures and quit attacking my Igbo brothers, some of who have sacrificed more in blood for our (Igbo) survival and emancipation. BE wise. ![]() |

Posted by: asha 80 you better warn that guy.i am seriously losing my patience with himI have warned him countless times. The ultimate truth is that this is internet and any goat can say whatever he likes. He is a pure idiiiot without any basis on senses. He is living in a cocoon of falsehood and hubris. Because of him, I am beginning to tone down on my support for Peter Obi. Just ignore him because there are far too many REAL Anambra folks here for his opinions to count. He could even be working with, or for Alj_harem for I know, and he may be from Kogi! ![]() Don't forget we share border with Kogi state. |
Posted by: Eko Ile ^^^^^We all know your biafra and all that let us go crap is nothing but BS. Who are you deceiving? You want to go you want to go, but you are at the same time crowding out the same people you want to leave, the right of passage for every ibo man and woman is to leave ibo land and head to Yoruba land or Hausa land and never to return to your Biafra shitttttt hole except at easter or christmas.namfav. a fulani/Hausa threatened a war as the only way for us to get Biafra. So, what does that make you? A LUNATIC. You and your people have NO SAY in whether we (Igbo) leave or stay in Nigeria. You lost that standing in 1967 and have remained irrelevant since. Your outburst is like asking why prisoners in Kirikiri have not moved out of jail en masse. Do you have any brains at all? Freaking green goat. |
I am also a full blooded Anambra man and I state with all emphasis that there is NO WAY Ohaneze1, Chino11, chy101 is more Anambra than myself. I also state with same emphasis that Ohaneze1, Chino11, chy101 is a GOAT. ![]() If he doesn't stop shittting all over this place, we will stop him. ![]() |
Posted by: onye_ngbu* I have been wondering who you are but this post just exposed you completely!I swear I get angrier at that goat everyday, and sometime I doubt he is from Anambra state. He sounds so much like a foreigner planted here to create as much disunity as possible among Igbos here. I have challenged him to post pictures of whatever developments and projects being executed by Peter Obi. HE FAILED TO POST ANY. Yet, he is relentless with his nonsensical attacks on fellow Igbos here, from other sister states. Eziokwu, di anyi ahu bu anu mpama! There is no other way to communicate to him. ![]() Please my Imo brothers, ignore the rants of this madman by the name of Ohaneze1, Chino11, chy101. He is a leper seeking relevance. ![]() |
@nku5 There is a time for everything under the sun. So says the wisest king in the bible. There is a time for peace and a time for war. I will explain myself. How long has it been since anyone saw peace in Nigeria? Answer: Before January 1966. After July 1966, EVERY Nigerian policy has been geared towards one aim: TO STOP IGBO. If Nigeria has been developing, there would be no problem. The blood of dead Easterners killed in the war would be justified. BUT NIGERIA STOPPED. There has been no peace or progress since then. It has been more than 44 years and nothing has changed. Read the article in the OP' link and you would see that there is no way Nigeria can develop without revisiting 1967-70 either peacefully (through dialogue, which has been long foreclosed) or through another war. Thousands die every year in Nigeria and all we hear is that "war is not good" as if we've ever had peace. I want a FULL BLOWN war if that would bring a final peace. This is why I respect white people a lot. They never lie to themselves, that is why there were hundreds of wars in Europe before they found respect for one another. In Nigeria we keep avoiding the inevitable. Yes I will definitely do more than enter trenches to save my people. However something tells me that if we Ndigbo apply our minds to the problem, we would present Nigeria with the war option they would run away from this time. I know they are warming up to rush to Igboland, but we shall see if they won't flee to Niger and Chad and Benin and where ever for safety. I didn't say it would take another careless attempt. |
Posted by: namfav biafra will be realised by a war, if biafra wants to be recognised it has to win a war, the qestion is, is biafra prepared to go for a war with nigeria to make it reality? or must history repeat itselfI hope my Igbo brothers are reading this and hearing it from the horses mouth. I am among the practical Igbos who also believe this, and I'm already preparing for it mentally; have been doing so for some time. The truth is that there is no way we can seriously think about getting out of Nigeria without presenting Nigeria with the type of a war she can't win. This article indirectly alludes to this fact because it stated clearly that Nigeria CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT IGBO. That is why this aboki is threatening war. I know that when Northerners like this one think of war, their minds somehow can't think past the 1967 -70 war. They reason like that. It is an advantage because we can think far ahead of that. So brace up brothers. Let's give these aboki's some new definition of war, else our children will grow up to be slaves in the Nigerian dungeon. Nuff said. |
Interesting article; and the usual culprits fill thread with predictable trash. The question is why are you so afraid of Biafra? Nigeria is not moving forward until that question is answered. |
Bottomline is that he was a dog at the end of the day. He impregnated another lady. |
Posted by: arsenefc If you believe that, then I have a room for you in Asorock. The husband was driving cab and feared the wife would leave him first. |
The stories are true. |
I have a case of an Igbo lady from Illa in Delta state. She dated this "Christian" Yoruba man for 4 years and "prayed" as they dated. Well, they eventually tied the knot and she had three kids; the first a boy, and the second twins -a boy and a girl. Guess what, they are now divorced because he impregnated another lady. She is now raising three kids alone. The second case is almost similar except that he (the Yoruba guy) came with the lady- an Igbo from Imo state, to US. They had two sons, and today they are divorced too; reason, he impregnated another lady too. She is now working as a CNA though she was a lawyer in Nigeria. She is wasted. I keep asking her why she never took the BAR (law license exam in US), she said the husband refused and threatened her with divorce. Well, she is divorced now anyway, and she is NOT A LAWYER still. Sad sad. ![]() |
Perhaps the most important information you need is to be aware that most Yoruba men would have second or third or more wives before they go out of their prime. If they don't do that, they get "baby mamas" outside of your marriage. Your dude may be in love with you today, but he would likely also be in love with more women later (after you've been trapped with two kids). Be warned. |
OP, listen carefully to wise advice here. There is a MAJOR difference between dating and marriage. That is why so see many people who dated for long (say 5 years) but divorce after just one year or two. A man can afford to experiment with marriage (to some extent); a woman can't, because by the time you hit a snag in the experiment after some years, you have become "Tokunbo" with two kids! LOL. Most Yoruba I know try to get "Igbo wife" or "Igbo girlfriend", but it is just a psychological therapy (to feel they scored against the Igbo or they got some Igbo genes into their family), NOTHING MORE. Marriage should not be about that. It should be about people who "assimilate" or "bond" into one state of culture for the rest of their lives. IT AIN"T TEA PARTY. Your case is part of an increasing Igbo problem stemming from years of living outside Igboland. It is not your fault. It is your parent's fault. Nevertheless, you still have power not to make it worse for yourself because by the time the "5hit" hit the fan later in your life, your parents may be long dead. It is YOUR life. Be warned. ![]() |
Posted by: Maximip the east haven't been patient by choice, I just honestly think they haven't been able to produce a worthy presidential candidate. Everybody is watching what you guys are doing in your states and so far, hasn't been very impressive.I would also advise you to read about Nigeria's past before you can made the bolded statement. You are insulting us when you say that the East has not been able to produce "worthy" presidential candidates. I don't think there is ANY region in Nigeria today that has more presidential materials than the East. If you are honest, you would acknowledge this fact. ![]() |
Posted by: jason123 @OnlytruthThe bolded line is what you used to deceive us in the past. You want us to be more patriotic than everyone else while you go to the back and steal the crown as usual. Let me tell you, if ever Igbo manages to have someone like me directing Igbo affairs, we will take our rightful place. My plan is infallible, and it has nothing to do with Nigerian presidency. ![]() |
@playmode /emperrorOlu, I often enjoy reading your posts because you come off as quite smart (though dishonest sometimes), and I suspect you are my good friend Shango-tor (a genius in my book ); however, please never forget that we lost a very brutal civil war. In my own book, Nigeria's policy since July 1966 has been a continuation of the counter-coup: a fear of Igbo resurgence and possible vengeance against those who committed genocide against the Igbo. Once you understand this basic fact, Ohanaeze's failures and inactions would make sense to you. Pick up a book on Nigerian history from 1950 to date and read. You would learn a thing or two. |
Posted by: jason123 So?? Emphasis was not placed on ethnicity but on the ability to get the job done! Your argument is the reason why Nigeria is still like this. Who cares whether you are Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa. Just get the job done.Tell that to the marines! hahaha! So only Yoruba was qualified enough to produce premier? I'm laughing heartily. So, why did Yoruba not vote for Jonathan -a minority- in this last election? Why are they the most bitter critics of GEJ here on Nairaland? |
Eko-Ile, Answer the damn question. Why is Become-kolo your alter-ego desperately annexing my Anioma people and other minorities of old West into his Benin republic hubris? |
Posted by: gascoign1 I doubt if she can succeed considering that fact that she is surrounded by failures and unpatriotic government officials, there must be a total overhaul of the entire system else its remains business as usual, By the way,why is Dangote among the Economic team? Dangote cement sells in Ghana for N1200 equivalent and sells in Nigeria N2600 because the Ghana government dictates the price, why cant our government do same? its sad that each year we keep doing the same thing and expect a different result,it is vision 2020 now until we get to Vision 3000 with the situation remaining the same,Are you sure of the bolded? If so, why should that be? Ghana is only a stone throw from Nigeria. I would probably import my cement from Ghana then. |
A little food for thought. Was there EVER a Premier of Old Western region of Nigeria from a minority tribe? Answer: NOPE. |
My question is this: WAS THERE EVER A TIME A MINORITY BECAME THE PREMIER OF WESTERN NIGERIA? ![]() Answer: NEVER! Nuff said. |
^^ To help teach a foolish Yoruba a lesson in history. " . In 1951, major elections were held in the Eastern region of Nigeria with Eyo Ita becoming leader of the Eastern government and Azikiwe, leader of opposition in the Western Regional Assembly, a potential obscure position in light of his national repute.[3] However, a few federal ministers from the N.C.N.C supported a trial run of the Macpherson Constitution of 1951, in contravention of Azikiwe's view of opposition. The ministers had an ally in Eyo Ita. This led to internal wrangling, and a power struggle began, leading to the exit of some of the ministers and Eyo Ita.[4] The new group latter formed the National Independence Party and Eyo Ita later became a member of the movement for the creation of the Calabar, Ogoja and Rivers State (COR State). However, he left the movement and re-joined the N.C.N.C in 1956." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyo_Ita |
Until we Igbo understand that our struggle is international, we will never make any progress on the home front. Sometimes it is imperative to think outside the box. |
Posted by: houvest Quite Profound. What beats me is why many Igbo leaders do not see such glaring facts. It is baffling. Added to Israel, why have they not sought to re-establish relationships (even if ceremonial) with our wartime allies France, Gabon, CIV, Tanzania, Haiti, etc. What is wrong with our leaders? Internationalising ethnic groups' agenda/issues are sure ways of receiving visibility and attention not to talk of strenghtening bonds that may come in handy in future.Bros, I frankly think that this particular job falls square on the laps of the Igbo diaspora. Our leaders at home are powerless. South Africa would never have been emancipated without the VERY ACTIVE role of exiled black South Africans. This is part of why I think that the World Igbo Congress is a colossal failure. In fact I would soon join a campaign to force them to close shop or step up to the plate. ![]() Our struggle is not overtly easy; yet very easy. |
Posted by: hercules07 @onlytruthI never lie. There is no need for it. The day I decide to stop speaking the truth here, I will invent a new username. It is as easy as ABC. If you say there was no constant killing of Easterners for many months after the July counter coup, then you are either not telling the truth or you are ignorant of what really happened. Pick up a book by an unbiased historian and read. |
Posted by: Aigbofa Even under this situation what do you think would have happened if Awo had been murdered in the prison because there was a general riot and ibos were killed. You know what they say about hindsight. It is always 20/20. IMHO, this is one area where I feel that Ojukwu failed (amongst others). The way Eastern Nigeria responded to the non-stop murder of Easterners in other parts of Nigeria was very naive. I'm sure they decided to stick to Igbo values of not harming guests; but they forgot that we were in Nigeria where those values never counted for anything. At the very least, the Eastern Nigerian government could have instigated reprisal attacks against ALL non-easterners in the east. In such a scenario, Awo couldn't have made it back to Yorubaland. ALL Easterners ran away from the West, and those he weren't lucky were killed. The least Ojukwu could have done was to reciprocate in kind. |
Posted by: hercules07 @OnlytruthI can't believe anyone would ask this question. Please with all due respect, have you ever read a book about what happened to Eastern soldiers and civilians in all the areas outside of eastern region between July and October 1966? Let me tell you what happened. There was CONTINUOUS killing of Eastern sons and daughters (soldiers and civilians) in Yorubaland and North, and even midwest. In such a scenario, why should we allow any non-easterner to leave the east safely? Dude, duh! ![]() And it wasn't only Awo that Ojukwu allowed to leave the East, he did same to Northerners, even though they were busy disarming and killing Eastern soldiers and civilians returning to the East. |
@Aigbofa I love this conversation because the same reason Igbo wanted to save Awo from the Northerners who wanted to poison him to death in the North is the idea of a united Southern Nigeria which UPGA represented. That move proved very unwise as history has shown. Let me ask you this: Was there a point in the period between Awo's freedom and 1971 that Awo felt a need to reward the Igbo for his safety and the support accorded him in his time of incarceration in Eastern Nigeria? Please I'll like to know what Awo did to cut us some slack. |
Was he also working for Gowon when he invented the 20 pound policy AFTER the war? I doubt that. |
