ekwah: I still want some of these loud-mouthed Nigerians to mention one person who can handle the current affairs in this country. Can you think of one person? mtcheewI can rule and fix Nigeria within 1 year in office. You just need guts to solve Nigeria's problem. The current occupant of Aso rock doesn't seem to have the guts. Here is what I would do. Step 1: Meet all the key military officers in Nigeria and get their unalloyed support. Step 2: Declare Marshal law and dissolve houses of congress (at federal and state levels) and sack all executives at state levels. Step 3: ( It is a secret!, hint: will involve mass arrest and jailing of past ruling thieves) Step 4: Invite the UN to conduct COMPLETE census in Nigeria, complete with all biometric information from state to tribe, clan and family levels. Step 5: Constitute a Sovereign National Conference (based on representations from the census data) which would draw up a new structure for the country (eg create new federal Constitution which recognizes regions, complete with regional constitutions). Step 6: Conduct new elections based on census data and NEW tamper proof ID card system and electoral act produced at the end of the SNC. Step 7: Step down, hand over to the newly elected leaders, and go back to Otuoke! ![]() |
Sam_Ikenna: To cut the long story short. GEJ was not the problem from 1914-2010, however, he became a major part of the problem from 2010 - 2012. Now the question is - what is he going to do about it? I believe we dont know the answer to that, only GEJ knows. I do hope his numerous doctorate degree holding special advisers help him lead us out of whatever the problem is. If its amalgamation - undo it, if its Electricity, give it to us. If its SNC, lets have it. If its maffia, expose and/or un-mafia them. If its our mono-economy, diversify. If its our unwillingness to work together, then lets have out-right seperation. If its education, give us more schools. If its almajiris, hold their parents responsible just as you un-almajirize them. You are right my brother. Nigeria's problem is getting more and more serious though. Jonathan needs to develop the balls and do certain things, or else he and everyone supporting him will certainly bite the dust. My support ends by December if I don't see any big moves on his part to solve this country's problem once and for all. |
haka_nai: Musiwa the fotune teller and his apprentice a47mann !!!!But they have a point. What is the point of a National Conference without it being sovereign if the issue of resource control would be discussed there. I don't see the need! ![]() |
ak47mann:My brother the Edwin Clarks of "SS" is why we may have to re-examine our continued support for resource control. As far as he is concerned, the only issue in Nigeria is resource control. It is NOT! The Northerners may have a point about all or nothing relationship within Nigeria. |
Sweetlemon: I am yet to meet an Akwa-Ibomite who is excited about being a Biafran! Pls stop this propaganda abeg!I don't do propaganda, believe me. I would NEVER lie about something so serious. In any case, because I don't want to go down this road with you, let us assume that ALL Akwa Ibomites are crazily in love with One Nigeria. Let us also assume that ALL Akwa Ibomites are anti-Biafra. When someone from Akwa-Ibom who is pro-Biafra shows up, he can speak on that. For now, I would speak for my people Ndigbo as their Eze here on Nairaland, and I would say the following: Ndigbo are VERY VERY VERY Unhappy with Nigeria. The least we Ndigbo may (please note the emphasis on MAY) accept is an Igbo president from 2015, (or whenever Jonathan leaves office), for a period of 8 years (two terms). Else, we would use whatever resources at our disposal to see that Nigeria disintegrates. No more, no less. Now, let the "debate" continue. ![]() |
I am not deep into stocks, but I make it my business to acquire deep knowledge and understanding about ALL things! Like someone already side here, the limits of Facebook's growth is directly proportional to its ability to innovate. I already see about 4 SOLID ways Facebook can generate improved revenue, and those ideas are by no means "breakthrough" ideas. When you are sitting on 901 million users, and new billions of CASH raised through the IPO, you've be a complete dunce not find a way to innovate, buy up more talents and competition, and move ahead. Facebook is a threat to all other big web operators -amazon, google, priceline, ebay, linkedin, yahoo, microsoft. . . you name it. They can take their business in any direction and still corner a huge chunk of the market. |
ak47mann: anambra need a neutral person with vision to govern my beautiful state and i can see that from my nwanna only-truthThanks my brother. As a matter of fact, if I can get some of the current or future governors to think like me, I would have "governed" the state already. The same applies to Igboland as a whole. If I can get our leaders to see things clearly and do what is necessary for our survival, then I don't even need to contest any political position. But I will, for sure, if I see no changes! ![]() |
Abagworo: @onlytruth you so much like airport. When you become Anambra Governor please don't build airport in all the LGAs.hehehe! My brother orubeghi na nke ahu! If our economy grows to accommodate them, I would be advocating for them (if I see a need)! You need to see things from international dimension (you are too local, trust me!) before you can understand why SE region remains a huge village, while other less endowed regions develop better and suck away our human resources. People often wonder why we leave Igboland to go elsewhere. My simple answer to that is that we lack international access. Trust me, I know! For example, to send an ordinary international mail or cargo to Igboland from outside is almost impossible. Even if it gets there, it would be missing parts -hands, legs, eyes. |
I appeal to anyone in Enugu to get and post pictures of the Enugu International Airport terminal building under construction. Please go over there, snap a few pictures with a digicam or your cellphone and post it here. We need to know whether they are delivering as promised. We shouldn't trust these politicians. We need that airport, and we need it to be world class. |
Sweetlemon: Check all my posts on NL. I'm sure you will get that ridiculous assumption off your head. And who ever told you Akwa-Ibomites don't care about Nigeria? We do! We just don't make too much noise about it. However, I am unique on my own. I have my own identity and I as a person, as a Nigerian is very concerned about what happens here. There are also Akwa-Ibomites who care deeply about Biafra. They also don't make noise about it, and that is my point. I said that most Akwa-Ibomites are "openly indifferent" about what happens to Nigeria. To break it down for you, it means that their collective position may never be fully known until Nigeria starts to disintegrate precipitously. BTW a lot of other Nigerians (Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba) are also openly indifferent about what becomes of Nigeria. That is part of why Nigeria is a house of pain! Nobody wants to step up and say the obvious -divide this house for progress to happen. What I would say for sure is that there are FEW Nigerian citizens who would die for Nigeria to remain one. Don't tell me you don't know that already. lol |
People like Clark are part of the problem of this country. Imagine he wanting a National Conference, but not a Sovereign one. What would the conference discuss then? The issue of derivation and increase of the so called 13% can NEVER be satisfactorily discussed without discussing issues of sovereignty and ownership of resources. Sometimes I think that what the Clarks of Nigeria want is for us to give them ownership and control of oil resources, allowing them to spend the money as they deep fit, while still using the collective human resources (military and intellectual ) to protect, defend and enhance their profligacy, while other sections of the country starved! That has been the chief grievance of some Northern elements, and they are right! You cannot eat your cake and have it. It is either we are in one country where resources are shared according to population (as argued by the North) or we divide it so that resources (both human and natural) would be shared automatically according to whatever criteria agreed. People like Clark are reasons why I may NOT support Jonathan for another term! ![]() |
With the way some of our Igbo brothers disregard and even diss the works of their hardworking governors in SE, soon whenever gubernatorial elections commence, all thieves will be running in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION, because oku di over! ![]() Truth be told, it is not easy to please our people, eziokwu! ![]() I like it that way though, because then a thief stands no chance whatsoever! ![]() Great job Gov. Rochas. WE STILL NEED MORE! We need Sam Mbakwe International Airport with world class terminal building! Yes we do! ![]() |
chima12: When it happens,it is then that those who do not know will know that south-south doesnt really exist;I mean the existence of SS is not rooted in concrete.nigeria can divide into at most 4 countries.the efik, ibibio, ijaw, kalabari, isoko, uhrobo, itsekiri, bini and other tribes that make up the SS will have to choose between going with the Igbo or yoruba.lol, I told them that sometime ago. ![]() I don't blame them though, because most of the posters here are not educated enough, especially in international politics. I told them that the UN and other World agencies would NEVER allow a situation whereby more than 4 (I even say 3 ) countries would storm them from Nigeria. My immediate hunch is that Nigeria will likely divide into THREE countries. The world bodies can stomach three countries. Some of the reasons Biafra failed the first time was because those bodies feared some of the proposals being made here. When the British was ruling Nigeria, the most they could divide Nigeria was into three. Notice that they never divided it again till they left in 1960, and things were working! ![]() Like I've said a number of times, the British are very thorough and SERIOUS people. When you read about what Lord Lugard said about different Nigerian peoples, you would see that he understood Nigeria as far back as 1914 more than most Nigerians today. He knew which group constituted a perennial problem, and which groups were serious. The amalgamation was a DELIBERATE act, not a reflex one. So, all these people expecting to have tiny countries carved out of current Nigeria are just ignorant. It ain't ever happening. ![]() |
I just added one feather to Remi Oyeyemi's cap. I never knew that this guy is this deep and consummate. Great piece! This article should be the BEST article I've ever read on Nairaland. ![]() |
Why do I have this nagging feeling that Sweetlemon is no other person than good ol' Alj-harem? ![]() I have studied Alj-harem like a computer programming language. I have a deep understanding of his "algorithm" ![]() Most Akwa-ibomites are openly indifferent about what becomes of Nigeria. They may be closet Biafrans even. So, OP please no vex o. Wia you come from sef? ![]() |
^^ The extent of its greatness in design and implementation really depends on the Enugu state government. This is the unfortunate truth. Everything Igbo in Nigeria is always treated with half heart by the FG. But I know that the FG cannot tell Enugu not to build a terminal looking like the one at Amsterdam. Na their money? I hate PDP mainly because the governors under that party never raise a voice against the president or the FG. They are all comfortable thieves who don't want to upset the "come and eat" party at Abuja. I would not be shocked if Owerri airport attains full international operational status, complete with world class terminal, before Enugu. Just watch out. ![]() I pray for both airports. ![]() |
adewaleafolabi: Am Yoruba and for one am not afraid of disintegration rather it's what I'd prefer. I'd like to see the Biafran Republic, The Federal Republic of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Northern Nigeria and of course Niger Delta Republic. This way it makes life really safer for us all.I would support Lagos to be a separate country because of its unique history, growth pattern and demography. South West should form a separate country. |
PROUD-IGBO:The city would need to step up its game. Enugu is Enugu, in a class of its own. Without sound CIPs, it may soon return to status quo ante. ![]() |
PROUD-IGBO:My brother your ideas are pure genius! Enugu state needs to spear head this by building more 3 or 5 star hotels, and offering free accomodation for some of the international airlines to attract them to Enugu. The amount of money spent in those hotels by the Onlytruths of Igboland will sustain the route eternally. ![]() Enugu also needs to master the art of what we professionals call "Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs)" -upgrading existing infrastructure, and maintaining existing ones (non-CIPs). ![]() |
I am 100% in support of the statement by Arewa Youth Forum. Buhari, as an ex-president of Nigeria should know the consequences of his utterances, especially since his last statement led to thousands of deaths of innocent Nigerians including youth corpers! I honestly wonder why the Jonathan FG has not arrested Buhari and slammed him in jail. Believe me nothing will happen! I don't know whether Jonathan needs to borrow some guts. When people say he is "slow" they miss the point. The man needs balls mehn. If GEJ has balls, Buhari would not make a sound, trust me! ![]() |
Nchara: ''And children shall turn against their fathers and smite them'' - Nchara book of Nigerian politics Chapter 3 verse 2.My brother Nchara is back! ![]() |
afam4eva: Of course there's bound to be mistakes. It can't be 100% effective.Strong morals are products of families and communities/societies, not police or law enforcements or death penalty. Without them (families/communities), you can never have strong morals. The problem with systems that trust capital punishments is that they rely on the justice system rather than families and communities to create a morally acceptable society. That is what I call misplaced trust. When you empower families and communities, you would find that there may never be any need for even a police force. Let us go back to family/community shared responsibility in the upbringing of children. That is how our fathers lived without about 95% of crimes plaguing our societies today. Capital punishment is illusory. It does not stop any crime. It may reduce it, but at the price of greater societal violence, which renders those gains mute. I gotta run. ![]() |
afam4eva: Even in America and the developed world,There is no human system that can determine guilt 100% ALL THE TIME. It is humanly impossible. Those who advocate death penalty for ANY crime at all are not usually deep and reflective about it. They are mainly vengeful and nothing more. When you conduct a DEEP and REFLECTIVE thought about it, you would find that some of the most peaceful countries in the world are the ones without death penalty. I love the USA, and pray that one day the system would drop this archaic view of justice. The capital punishment views here have not been supported by the fact that it was recently discovered that an innocent man was executed in Texas. Only God has the right to take life. Man can do so only in WARS. ![]() And when we evolve past war, NO HUMAN SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO TAKE ANOTHER'S LIFE. Period. Here I stand! ![]() |
I still remember clearly how I LAMENTED here about Soludo's removal, and how I cried about this evil Nigeria system called quota system and federal character. I knew that there is no way Sanusi would not destroy everything that Soludo achieved for Nigeria. That is why Nigeria cannot be one. It is a cycle that never ends! |
I have come to the conclusion that the greatest parasites in Nigeria are the ones who constantly try to tell Igbo that "SS"(read non-Igbo SS tribes) will not join them in Biafra (as if any Igbo gives a damn! ). But notice that once we tell such people that we don't care, they disappear, never to return! I will repeat it, the parasites are those who are leeching on this organized chaos called Nigeria. They fear disintegration more than death! ![]() |
@Tripoli abi na Tropilo, I don't know how to address the lies you spewed. You can see that all your Igbo brothers are very angry at your level of irresponsibility and ignorance. The fact that you are a married man with kids even makes your case very sad because I wonder what you tell your children about your people Ndigbo. It is unfortunate that I had to attack you the way I did. If you go through my posts on Nairaland, you would see that I reserve my verbal attacks for people I consider ENEMIES of Ndigbo. If an Igbo person, through his utterances, sow seeds of disunity and division in Igboland, IMHO that person is as dangerous as a heavily armed Boko Haram. ![]() Here is how you start. Pick up a book on the Nigerian/Biafran war and read profusely. Read about the Asaba massacre and the Onitsha (st mary's ) massacre by the invading Nigerian army under the mass murderer Murtala Muhammad. Read about Benjamin Adekunle's promise to "shoot even things that don't move when he gets to Igbo heartland". Read about how no Igbo has become the president of Nigeria since 1970, and find out how each Igbo has been frustrated out of the presidential race including through the 1984 Buhari coup staged to stop Ekwueme. After you have read about Igbo investments in other parts of Nigeria, and other Igbo sacrifices for Nigeria, and the fact that SE has the least federal presence inspite of being the "most Nigerian" by investing in non-Igbo areas of Nigeria, and after you have done these you still think that your brothers are fools for wanting Biafra; then be rest assured that your own foolishness is incomprehensible. Onye si na umunna ya na awi ara, ara nke ya ka! ![]() |
PointB: KingofFag,lol. ![]() The guy is suffering from the worst form of attention deficit disorder. |
Tropilo: Firstly, i wouldn't fight you about GOD cause HE is capable of doing that HIMSELF.You mean the Onitsha and Ogbaru axis that is the HEARTBEAT of Igbo investment? Tell me which Igbo does not own one thing or the other in Onitsha. And we are investing more and more because soon Onitsha will be the center of commerce and investment in Africa, thanks to COLLECTIVE IGBO spirit and investment. Onitsha is OUR HOME! Stop trying to sell us lies here you goat! Go to the North or West or whereever you want after Nigeria divides. We shall have international airport and seaport at Onitsha/Ogbaru axis and make it the area that brings pride to Africa. The US and Canada are two separate countries, but their people simply stroll across the borders for weekend parties and events, it didn't force them into one country. If the number of dead Igbo in Nigeria is not enough for you, maybe the next death should come to your family. Selfish goat. ![]() |
Land of the rising sun we love and cherish beloved homeland of our brave heroes We must defend our lives or we shall perish We must protect our hearts from all our foes But if the price is death for all we hold dear Then let us die without a shred of fear! If there is any other country (apart from the Great USA) that I would die for in war, that country is Biafra, not Nigeria. Nuff said. ![]() |
GboyegaD: Here comes another ethnic bigot who finds it so hard to accept the truth.Sharap dia! When you show me a Yoruba man that loves Abacha, I will show you an Igbo man that loves Buhari. You people think that only goats live in the East. |
PointB: Chyz is a poster I respect, expect more from and consider a brother. I believe he is genuinely confused as you and I seem to occasionally converge on issue concerning the corpers' killer, GEJ and allied matters. I will give him benefit of the doubt. He is far to removed from the intelligence level of ileke-igi or whatever she calls herself.I love and respect both posters. I would think the bolded (in a positive sense) separates the two posters (Beaf and PointB). PointB is CLEARLY AND PROUDLY IGBO, and features PROMINENTLY in Igbo affairs. Beaf is Isoko, and all his posts show he is a Delta state man. I'm surprised that Chyz couldn't see the difference. |
PointB: I am not and have never been Beaf! Get your facts right!Nna I tire o. |
