If you can spare some time, I'll like us to chat a while on yahoo or hotmail. . . . . .I will be waiting. . . . . . patiently. |
Is this vehicle in the country already? Why do i have this feeling that I sent you an e-mail sometime this afternoon on something similar to this? |
No. They will rather accept his useless apologies. They said we're in a Democracy - everyone is entitled to his own opinion. Can you imagine a Senator saying such things? |
most of the identified wells haven't even begun production. There's enough oil in Igboland to sustain it and more being discovered . And Igbos don't need oil for survival Why should we fight, didn't you people say you wanted one Nigeria? We've fought one war, that is enough. Let the other disgruntled groups fight theirs and live to tell the tale. Na siddon dey look we go do this time around. let every man carry his cross, my fathers carried theirs I can promise you the Igboman will not fight Ijawman because he realizes it would be for the benefit of the Hausaman besides the Ijaw man is his relative we cannot be manipulated like that,to fight against our cousins We understand what it means to be maltreated for what you believe in. We wish them well and pray this comes to a peaceful end.
Nice one. |

Ok! Let the real cat and mouse game begin!!! |
@Biina, What in the world is your problem ??Go and meet Akwaibom state government (and other state governments in the Niger Delta), ask to see the Commissioner for Finance and let him/her give you a breakdown of what they want to do/have done with their money!!! - If you can't do that, please stand down and stop asking questions that won't give any meaningful answers! Do you know that the Delta State govt is currently building an airport in Asaba? Have you gone to Rivers State to see what Amaechi is doing to improve the living conditions of the people in the state, and in Port Harcourt in particular? Do you know that Calabar is the tourism haven for Nigeria? - with Tinapa that the FG won't allow to fly due to some useless sentiments?? Bayelsa is undergoing some massive development. You may want to argue from now on end, but Bayelsa has developed past when it was created - we are happy about that. Please, while you're searching for what ND governors are doing with their money, take some time out to see what Northern state governors are doing with their ''meagre'' take home as well. Do a good job of that, instead of boring everyone with this your stance on what the governors in the ND did with the money allocated to them - their own money in the first place. |
can we see the interior pictures? |
naijaking1:That's just the way it is, Naijaking. People are talking about a couple of millions of naira handed over to militants in the creek by Bayelsa state government. They fail to see the real problem the country is facing. Abuja FCT is planning to build a 10-lane road to the airport - with zillions of dollars of crude oil money. Money no one person sweat to get. But a lot of communities in the ND states are yet to be connected to the national grid. . . . . . .lets leave out grid, yet to even see what electricity is about. I have been down this road before. I am tired of repeating thesame thing over and over gain |
texazzpete:Fact remains that if the FG had nipped the issue of build up of arms in the region way back in 1999- 2000, when all these trouble started, we won't find ouselves in this mess. There are true agitators and there are criminals who just cash in on the situation in there to forment trouble. It is the responsibility of the FG and law enforcement agents to quickly quell any uprising from anywhere in the country - but no. They even hired these guys as thugs during elections into several political positions in the country. Now, innocent people have to die because of their shortsighted and ''i don't care ''disposition towards the problems in Delta State. |
LOLZ. . . . ![]() |
@Tex, The military or the FG should have sent some military/security intelligence into the area to properly understand who the real agitators are and then fishout the criminal elements And if the people we call leaders cannot think in that direction before carrying out a dastardly act like we have seen, then I wonder the crop of leaders we have governing us. A responsible government will not send out their military in the manner YarAdua did. But, thinking about getting intelligence reports, I want to believe that the military, since the deployment of the JTF into the ND (since the early 2000) should already know who the criminal elements are. So, why not go after them? why raze down a make shift hospital? why kill innocent people? This basically underscores my fear that there is some elements of ethnic cleansing in the whole exercise. |
Dude, That's the one we can at least ''hear'' for now. What about the others they're yet to utter We're going nowhere in this country until we face and correct the evil we're currently practicing in the name of Federalism. |
Biina, Tribalism is in the blood of the average Naija man. Much as we try to deny it, shove it aside, behave as if it doesn't exist, I tell you, the stuff is here to stay and wishful thinking will not take it away from us. Live with it. Now, why should some states - contributing nothing to the common purse of the country, come to get anything in the first place? Remember the house of rep guy from Kebbi, saying we can wipe out 20 million ND people to please 100million other hungry mouths. Could you please tell why someone from Kebbi state, in the arid region of the country, with nothing in sight - not even arable lands but perched desert lands come to the NA and utter such disgusting words? Is it not because he's got free billions flowing freely to him and his state from the ND areas? |

Nice insight, JJYOU. We await, from people who post the revenues accruing to each states, what the other states (aside from the ND states) bring to the table for sharing at the end of every month At least, the ND states can lay claim to Oil - if nothing at all. |
Biina again! 4 Play has done enough of laying the facts bare. You either follow your conscience and admit the wrongs in our society, or you join the hordes of people who love feasting on the resources in other peoples lands. |
The approach suggested by someone in here that the military or the FG should have sent some military/security intelligence into the area to properly understand who the real agitators are and then fishout the criminal elements is so far the best contribution to this thread. And if the people we call leaders cannot think in that direction before carrying out a dastardly act like we have seen, then I wonder the crop of leaders we have governing us. |
That military men were killed isn't enough (does not justify in any way) for one cattle rearing idiot to stand up and say my people should be sacrificed - so they can have full scale access to the crude flowing from the place. Alright, with these words from that heartless thief, I now support MEND for a full scale attack - if they still have the muscle to do that. |
naijaking1:naijaking1, naijaking1, naijaking1. . . . . . .na how many times I call you just now? These things wey dey happen for this side no be as you think am o. . . . . . there's more to this than meet the ordinary eye o. |
Interesting posts from Superego. |
naijaking1, we go meet for politics section. We can't discuss Ibori on this particular section of the board. All, I'm very pleased to let everyone know that I have reached a ''workable'' agreement with my Naija dealer. He said I did not ''hear him very well'' the first time. So, now, I have heard him well, and we're progressing smoothly again. Bottom line is that I will not be paying any tax. |
My dear, I've done that. He told me I'm not going to pay any tax. In fact, he only billed me for the cost of the vehice plus another small fee for for paper work - that's all. It is my naija car dealer guy who's interested in tax - US tax. Ironic I daresay. The US car dealer said I will not pay. But my naija car dealer said I must pay. Way out to me, from the response so far is that I will not pay my naija guy the tax. |
Thanks, Promise72 and Sultaan. I found this pretty car in the US on the web and called up the dealer and negotiated a deal. Since I do not reside in the US, I engaged the services of one car dealer to help get the vehicle. So far, all has gone pretty well until this issue of tax came up. And for this particular car, it's much - more than 1500 dollars. The US car dealer said I will not be paying tax, since the vehicle will be exported to another country. So, I told my naija car dealer that I will not be paying tax, but he refused. He said I MUST pay tax. He said as soon as the car leaves one state and enters another, I must pay tax. This is my grouse, and I'm really not pleased about the development. And to think I will also pay another huge sum of money to clear the vehicle at the Lagos Port via customs makes me very angry. |
Hi guys, I need some clarification as regards the above subject. Is it a must that I pay sales tax (in any state in the US) on a vehicle bought in the US, when such a vehicle will be registered (titled) in Nigeria? Do we have guidelines to that effect? I suppose the tax should be paid to Nigerian government only. Your kind assistance will be greatly appreciated. |
Alright, so what's the way forward? DPR should carry out well performance tests for the IOCs? |
Too sensible? Well, I agree plants can later on be located in other places. No wahala. But I suggest planners should exhaust all possible options that is cost effective and reasonable before doing so. The Olokola project in my opinion was politically motivated. Even if the market for the gas is in Lagos or some other densely populated area, a very strong justification must be raised for government to site a project in a location considered not economically viable. And in these days of scarce fund allocation, political justifications aren't considered viable options anymore. |
Recently, the Brass LNG project in Brass, Bayelsa State received nationwide attention. Jackson Gaius Obaseki is the current chairman of the budding company - Jackson, a tested technocrat in oil and gas business and former GMD of the NNPC stated in a recent interview that the Brass plant will help convert hitherto flared gas to economic and profitable natural gas liquids to be exported for forex. One of the major plus for this project is its proximity to the raw materials needed to run the plant - natural gas. The plant site is at the heart of the Niger Delta. Nigeria's gas reserves is said to be the third largest in the world, with almost all the gas volumes - trillions of cubic feet, located in the Niger Delta. And even with more than ten years of LNG production from Bonny, fact is that we're yet to tap anything from the volumes of gas we have down there. While the Olokola LNG project seems to have faded into oblivion - and nobody talks about the project anymore, the Brass LNG project - site and all is receiving greater attention from the funding partners. No one will spend millions of dollar fabricating long range natural gas lines from the Niger Delta to somewhere thousands of kilometres away - to ''expand'' the economy of an enclave. This is the case with Olokola. I posit that more LNG plants be located near the source of gas. The Olokola LNG should be put on hold, at best cancelled and instead, locate another LNG plant in Warri. And even if there exist any in there, more should be located still in the Delta. I see youth restiveness and crude oil theft becoming a thing of the past with more avenues for employment getting created in the Niger Delta States. |
It's obvious that a lot of us here have very narrow understanding of the dynamics of crude oil sale in Nigeria. I suggest we do not rely on Newspapers ''reports'' and hearsays. Do some research and come back with facts. |
I think Anioma State should long have been created. And I welcome every argument to that effect. It has always been the desire of everyone in the old Mid-West Region that three States should be created from there. While other former regions have multiple states to show for being ''very dry and consuming-prone'' regions, the old Mid-West region has only two states - despite being the leader in sports, cash crops, mineral oil and other natural resources, people and skills. So, in order to be fair to the Mid West, and for the FG to be ''seen'' to be fair, I fully support the creation of Anioma State with capital in Asaba. The main Delta State should have its capital in Warri. And I believe every right thinking True Deltan knows that it won't be long before we see the actualisation of this goal. Already, there's a Delta State government annex office at the GRA end of Warri. With the creation of Anioma State, the Anioma people can and should have their true identity as desired by them. If they want to, they can join their kiths and kins in the South East, or remain with their neighbours in the south south - as far as I'm concernced, they're free to play any kind of geopolitics they want to. Osisi and company, when are you people ever going to make contributions on this board without insulting people? I hate to come here and see so much hatred, foul and abusive words flowing freely unchecked. You guys should really work on this. It's rather unbecoming of adults like you to make constructive arguments this way - except you aren't adults anyway. |
