Afam:Christ! you haven't changed Afam. See man, you need to grow up. Why call me a fool after reading my entry. You'd be better off with a shrink by your side to vet your post before putting it in here for all to read. Stupid man. |
Looks like I'll have to start taking a keen interest in the way my muslim friends relate with me. I'll henceforth guard my utterances and actions. Seems they're unpredictable. |
mdsocks:Well, on my way to work yesterday, a muslim woman did pull off her hijab exposing her hair when a vehicle hit her husband's jeep on their way to somewhere off Aba road. Her hair looked unkept. . . . . I dare say. There's really nothing in this world that's hidden that has not been revealed. Not even under a full body mask. Don't get me wrong, I'm not encouraging lust or something, it's just plain absurd to see women dress that way in this day and age under the cover of some religion. This is the kind of practice that breeds fanaticism and in the end you have pretenders all over the place parading as saints. |
The guy's name should be ''Olodo Yakata'' |
gr8child:Great point from great child. |
Interesting replies. I think those of you who back the 'trade' definitely believe something motivates these beggars. Why should anything in this world motivate someone to go cap in hand abegging? . . . . . .just wondering out loud. But, in retrospect, I think I'll live peaceably with these beggars than armed robbers. |

Well, I don't think the level of education in the South-South is shoulder to shoulder with that of the North. The South South is light years ahead of the North in educational development. It's amazing how he's not even ashamed to compare the entire Northern part of the country to the South-South, the least populated part of the country and the part that practically provides the meal on the table for all the folks in the north and other parts of this country. I wonder why he had to pick on the South-South, where the resources that feeds himself and his bearded nomadic kinsmen comes from. He should realise by now that it might be impossible for his people to measure up shoulder to shoulder with the South-South if the revenue from oil sales from that area stops ''flowing'' to them. He should go ask how Niger Republic, their neighbour have been coping with draught and desert encroachment, given that they don't have the means and resources to get fertilizers and do much irrigation and large scale farming that they enjoy in northern Nigeria - courtesy of oil sales proceeds! So much for educational progress in the North. |
Pain:Hmnn. . . .The Higher Law. . . . Just like setting your affection on things above and not on things beneath. I believe UFOs and others are things beneath. |
I've just fallen off my chair here in the office. Nigeria1, please fire down. I dey enjoy your gist. |
jerrymania:Now, this is the one I don't understand. What has soccer got to do with homos? |
Mamajama:LMAO! |
Sometimes I just wonder how we can be so myopic in our views on issues as Nigerians. And I marvel at how far we can go to make a point - no matter how baseless our argument might be. That Ibori pilfered the Delta State govt treasury while he was in office is no news. What people aren't talking about is what he did while he was governor of Delta State. I've interracted with many Deltans on this Ibori's case and they all wondered what's going on. We all know how the media in naija can ''paint the picture'' to sell their papers, so why would anyone take their stories to the heart? As far as I'm concerned, until IBB, OBJ, Prof. Jubril Aminu, Atiku, Amala politician at Ibadan, Lamidi Adedibu, Bode George, Peter Odili, Chimaroke Nnamani, Olagunsoye, etc etc are all brought behind the bars by EFCC, I will only take the results of their prosecution acts with a pinch of salt; infact, I don't bother reading what the papers have to say about Ibori these days. |
I read the ''Drummer Boy'' while growing up too. ''The Passport of Mallam Illia'' was a masterpiece. Memories are flooding my heart rite now. What with 'An African Night Entertainment''. . . .suddenly I remember Abu's escapades in the Forest Of Death - Kurmi Rukiki. . . . . with his treasured gourd. My secondary school literature never had it so good. What a loss. Nigeria has lost another rare gem in Cyprian Ekwensi. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen. |
Na you dey languish in abject poverty. I'm from Niger Delta (Delta State). . . . .and I'm living large. . . . I mean, larger than life! . . . . .right Almond? But in any case, if Ibori stole that much, I just shudder at how much peeps like OBJ, erm, what's the name of that Senate guy who's said to be a respectable member of the public, but was involved in the Siemens bribery scam? . . . can't remember a thing now, I'll be back with his name. All of them na thieves them be. No difference. |
I guess their major pre-occupation now is to look for ''juicy news'' at such places as the House of Assembly and Aso Rock. They nowadays leave substance and chase shadows instead. |
LMAO!! Bhuhahaha!! |
Is this the almond I used to know or a changed one? I can't believe what I'm reading from him/her. . . . .or are my eyes deceiving me? Surely, this can't be from almond. . . . . .must be from my nairaland brother and friend - Owo. How I missed his lucid contributions to burning issues. By the way almond, just say you're the writer of what's up there and I'll believe you. |
Who's this Nigeria 1 chap? I'm having a great time reading through your entries. LMAO! |
Looks like Afam has been boxed to a corner by so many people. . . . . he's gradually losing it. Erm, I'll advise you all to give Afam some breathing space. He needs a break. He might relapse into something terrible if we continue with him like this. Schizophrenia does no good to people and society in general. |
But, what is it with this Afam chap? Must you make derogatory remarks about someone to pass your message (if any) across? Why can't we reason like adults that we are and make this forum free of rancour and strife, so that we can learn in peace? |
Two solutions stares us all in the face: 1. Split up Nigeria 2. Practice true (fiscal) federalism, where everyone generates their income, pay tax to the centre and keep what belongs to you. Until then, we'll keep on deceiving ourselves in this country. |
Well I never said I like or hate the topic. And I've made little or no entry on this one. All I see here is a meaningless topic under ''discussion''. But of course, it's only a Afam - the sick and mentally challenged one, who'd post such a topic. |
There's no need spewing forth hate words all over the place. I believe you guys have something at the back of your mind when you created this topic - to ridicule Bush. What we are saying is that, you guys can devote all that energy to something better other than bashing someone who doesn't even know there's somebody called Afam somewhere. For example, something like ''Some Memorable Quotes of IBB or OBJ'' will be a very nice one to start with. . . . .lets ridicule those people who's done us enough harm here than others whom we don't know. |
almondjoy:That's exactly what I told Afam and his group, right from the start of this thread. What on earth do you guys stand to achieve by bashing a President who doesn't give a fxxxk you even exist? Ok, lets say these things you guys are putting on the web for all to see gets to the FBI and even Bush himself, and they decide you guys have gone over the bar with the insults on their president. They therefore launch a ''man-hunt'' for the erring lot on NL. Do you guys think you'll get away with all these ''quotes''? Do you guys stand a chance against the most powerful President in the world as we speak? Don't you think YarAdua will allow the rule of law to prevail against you people in this case? Make una dey think twice before spewing forth ridiculous things o!! |
Afam, I simply want you guys to ''shift'' all that energy of yours from talking about ''Bush's memorable quotes'' to ''quoting'' tangible and workable solutions to the myriads of problems that's staring us in the face here in Nigeria. You might say there are other threads with naija problems and solution, well, but I believe all these your quotes (including Richyblack's) will not stop Bush from completing his term of office. |
@RichyBlack The chart you produced should have been termed "An Idiot's Guide to US Budget Deficit",that would be more apt given the sheer economic illiteracy on display. Given that US budget deficits are historically below average-1.2% of GDP at present-wouldn't that mean that the average US President has been an idiot. At 1.2% of GDP,US budget deficit is lower than that of France,Italy,Britain and our beloved Nigeria-All ruled by idiots and none of which, apart from Britain, is embroiled in 2 major wars. Here is why the chart is superficially designed for the economically illiterate. Not adjusted for inflation, the deficit looks spectacular even though its below average at the moment.Imagine, using an obvious analogy, if we had a chart showing deficits of 2bn Naira in 1980 and 20bn Naira in 2007,to the mentally challenged, deficits have gone up spectacularly, the reality is that 2bn Naira in 1980 is worth more than 20 bn Naira in 2007. . . . . . .but a RichyBlack might not know the difference for like any rabid anti-Semite,the tools of logic elude him. Not saying that the budget deficits don't matter, only saying that you have to be a unbridled slowpoke to think that a budget deficit of 1.2%(below OECD and US historical average) shows the US President is an idiot. The irony is that those who call Bush an idiot are actually the real idiots. PS:I'm sure the blogger knows this but they can always rely on the gullible.
Hmnnnn. . . . . . . . .brilliant! |
I will like to see some memorable quotes from OBJ, Afam, if you've got the time to spare to look for them. Methink we should zero in on our ''leaders' in naija first before looking elsewhere. |
So, big b1, what do I make of the figures normally churned out by this agency as records of thieving governors? Believe them or drop them as cheap propaganda? |
So, almond is a girl afterall. Well. And come to think of it, how is it that baba OBJ's name is not on that list? |
All I can say is that baba must be made to pay for his misdeeds - one way or the other. And finally, after reading the list churned out by EFCC on what Ibori amassed to himself, I fully agree that he must be made to repatriate all the ill-gotten wealth. I like the title of this thread though. |
Yanga Rat:Couldn't have expressed it better. |
