Now why will anyone use force to gain entry into a govt. house? What are they planning to go in there and do?

I have always known that it is behaviors like this that will mar this protest.
PoliticsRe: Ngozi Okonjo-iweala Didn't Threaten To Resign Over Subsidy by onyengbu: 7:27am On Jan 05, 2012
@lastpage,
I have never been completely in support or against subsidy removal but after listening to health minister being drilled by the channels TV morning team, i began to see reason with the government. I will attempt to discuss this subsidy thing the much i can:
1. Timing:
I was one of the people who felt the timing was the only wrong thing about the susidy removal.
Now, they initially said it will be done by jan 1 and later moved it to april and all of a sudden, it was done on Jan 1. Thats looks like insensitivity but it is quite tactical!
Tactical because all the marketers should have started massive importation and hoarding of subsidized fuel they will sell post subsidy regime thereby still taking from the government and yet creating artificial scarcity that will have increased the price to what we are buying it now or even more! That means that the price increase would have started earlier with subsidy still intact!
The government outsmarted them this time even though the populace did not understand it and is not finding that amusing at all.

I will still post on all the other arguments you raised on this subsidy issue though i will appreciate if no one throws any insults cos any insult will not go unreplied.

Thank you.

SE/SS are also affected by the hardship and are complaining. People should stop making baseless assertions, the SE/SS are as well assessing the situation on ground and are as well going to come out with their own action but there has to be a clear purpose of what we hope to achieve. Is not by protesting and tearing down properties but by coordinated efforts. Events are still unfolding, let us not move faster than our shadows.
@bolded,
you have to go teach that to touts in the south and almajiris in the north.

My thougts:

Unless there will be a divine effect that will teach nigerians (the area boys inclusive) overnight how to protest and not riot, then there might be a 'revolution' in selected regions of the country. Anything short of this, it will go the normal way these kind of things go in nigeria viz:
it will start as protests,
evolve into a riot,
cars will be burnt, shops looted,
police will come in justifiably wit maximum force and disperse the rioters and,
even the strongest supporters of the protest will make sure their relations dont come out and be shot as rogues they are.

My people, there goes your revolution!
PoliticsRe: Islamic Scholars Condemn Xmas Day Bombings by onyengbu: 9:12am On Dec 28, 2011
BlackBaron:
My own question is this

What is the Quran's stance on 'killing' generally cos most times I read statements criticising an act of murder or vice versa, the emphasis is always on 'innocent', 'children', 'women'. Does this mean there is allowance to kill when threatened ? I spoke about the 'turn the other cheek' to a Muslim once and he replied that was 'cowardice'

Asari Dokubo was asserted to leave Christianity because his Niger Delta struggle was contrary to the bible not forgetting also a known Bin Laden admirer ??
Is it condoned to fight or wage a war when 'threatened'? knowing that the boldened can be misinterpreted by various groups.
you beat me to this.

The emphasis has always been on innocent and that has been the problem.
Innocence can always be misinterpreted.

3. Why did the bombs suddenly start exploding immediately it was obvious GEJ is goin to contest as PDP candidate?

you are funny. So after challenging me repeatedly to tell u what ngige did, all you can come up wit after you got ur proof is asking me to follow you to your village?!
Chei! Its either Peter Obi is messing wit ur head or you benefit alot from him. A simple picture you cant post. Are you are afraid that your picture will be filled with red soil your peter obi is using to fill everywhere? You dont have to worry abt me accusing you off photoshoping cos if u try photoshopping anything, i have to options in catching you; either i reverse-photoshop it (yes, im that good) or i go to your scene and take my own pic and come back here and post it. Im that serious.
So ngige did a 'small work' and it earned him one of the most popular and charismatic politician in nigeria today?

Sanusi is definitely surrounded and I feel sorry for him, does he really believe what he said or just waffling for self preservation.
He talked about not devaluing the naira,he caved, and now this soggy_talk!.
The labour movement should keep a close tab on Okonjo.
She's the brain behind this incoherent policy and these shifty, senseless explanations.
Fix the damn refineries to full capacity or take a stepped approach to subsidy removal and show us where the first cut went like some proposed earlier.
Nobody trusts the system hence the present course of action will not sell.
Do you know how long it will take to completely achieve that even if the government starts today?

Before it is done, im sure at least 18 months must have gone and vam! $24bn dollars will be gone by then and if we are ever caught in the oil prices crash during that period, you will all move to benin republic and start doing barbers and shoe makers.
PoliticsRe: Appeal Court Sacks Andy Uba From Senate by onyengbu: 7:19am On Dec 23, 2011
@kasiem i honestly dont know where u r coming from. You seem to enjoy being lied to. You first claimed that obi is currently undergoin massive projects and when i challenged you to show us, you jumped at ngige. So we can now assume you lied since u cant provide a single proof!

Now, so that you might leave ngige out of your peter obi canonization, i will give u one example in each:

In your anambra south where i dont know much about and wont lie about just to defend ngige, what about that road that connects ozubulu to nnewi. Is dat place not in the south?

Now in the north, have u gone to otuocha-aguleri-umuleri via okuzur? If you have no idea of where im talkin abt, ask questions or better still try the roads urself and come back here to thank ngige. That road is about seven years old yet u wont meet a single pothole on it. That is just one oo in anambra north.

I am not here to fight for ngige but just to stop you guys from misleading people about realities on ground in anambra. Anambra is not operating on even 5% of its potential and its very painful when people like you come to the media to lie to people.

thank you for accepting that he is only grading those roads in ur village, nnewi and elsewhere. And all these started just a few weeks back as xmas cosmetic deception!
Now, people who returned for xmas will wonder where went all the potholes we at home has been complaining about and obi will have won! Can anyone get more wicked?!

Im sure he was party to fixing ojukwu's burial for february when it is still dry season lest the whole world will witness the abomination he is comitting with nnewi - the japan of afrika!
PoliticsRe: Appeal Court Sacks Andy Uba From Senate by onyengbu: 12:33am On Dec 23, 2011
@post,
andy uba is evil but he is a lesser evil to chuma nzeribe!
Common, it was these two same guys that were pissing all over the state when ngige refused to deliver it to them. Now that chuma joined apga, he became a saint overnight! Ngwanu, ka anyi na aga.
Peter obi confirmed his banditry when accepted dat crook of man called chuma nzeribe into his most recent company called apga (sad that he uses our party for his misdeeds). I see the hand of Peter in that judgement. Just like he is fighting to 'resurrect' akunyili's dead case from the tribunal. He can field and deliver even mbadinuju for anambra south for all i care but anambra central is a no go area for his wayos.

@kasiem, so because they gave ur dad 1million naira to buy sand for him and fill your eroded village so that xmas returnees will be tricked you now want us to take that as 'massive' project, abi? Ngwanu ka anyi na aga nu, o kwa ndi natara uno xmas ga anocha nachighaa, obere oge udu mmiri abia. O bu mgbe ahu ka i ga amata na laterite e kposara n'uzo abughi 'massive' project.

@chino11 and co (if u are not all the same person),

im on phone so i cant engage you on your "peter-obi-is-God" argument for now but i can join afam4ever in asking u to post pictures of those 'massive' projects you are talking about. Nuff said on that.

However, one thing i learnt today is your place of work and who employed you!

CyberG:
^^ You are the one LYING almost 100% of time whenever it supports your tribal arguments and prejudices. If not, prove me wrong by going through my posts. In the meantime, I will keep this short by highlighting some of your lies in this post:

1. The Soviet Union collapsed largely as a result of communism, economic problems. corruption, etc not because of secession of any part of it. (See http://sfr-21.org/collapse.html, http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2007/06/why_did_the_sov.html, too many to posts so Google)

2. Slovakia was able to secede not because Czechoslovakia liked it or just agreed. It is on record that Czech leadership actually resisted but they did not have the military or police support and resources to keep the country together. Again, read some real books or Google, educate yourself and stop peddling propaganda that you hatched only to support a tribal argument.

3. What is the point? You can not draw a parallel between these scenarios with that of Nigeria. Again, learn the facts because you were NEVER there to start with.

4. Show me ONE, just ONE insult I made to Ojukwu or tribes here or elsewhere and I will show your abuse and gloating over others only on your tribal and bigoted stance.

5. I am not responsible for Adekunle's comment and that does not factor into this conversation. However, for the people unfamiliar with the real stories, this comments was made in the heat of battle. Two sides were warring and having seen his soldiers killed, the march on the Midwest enroute to Lagos, and more, do you want him to sing a lullaby? Do you know that while it may be fair to kill someone in the war, the representatives of Biafra at one of the peace meetings held outside Nigeria actually abducted a certain "Banjo" (See Brothers War, De Joerre as I don't want to rehash the whole story) who represented the other side of the conflict, apparently got information out of him and killed him? I don't see people shouting about it but was that fair?

6. Finally, I see your passion for Ojukwu but it does not mean that you can force anyone to have similar passions or belief - be it that they are Igbo or not but you can't come to terms with this otherwise your complaints will be much less. Now, if this makes you mad, does it make you mad that Ifeajunna in the company of his fellow Ibo soldier killed Maimalari in a most treacherous and callous manner? Ha, that is like music to your ears! How about the Sadaunna, Tafawa Balewa, Eboh, etc. That must be good news but remember they were also leaders to some people too and while OnlyLIES would gladly spare people from his own tribe others were fair game? Did you read a story where after Biafran fighters killed Nigerian soldiers, they stripped them Unclad and was actually going to cut off the dead man's balls because it was big until he was stopped? Read history and stop pretending like you know some truth that is so hidden from everyone else.

7. At the end of the day, all the rantings on NL about renaming the university is of no consequence to what your government in Nigeria will do. I do not care either because I have attended some really prestigious schools for which my last headache is if the name would be changed or not. It doesn't add or remove a single dollar from my pocket either and I am totally dispassionate about the whole issue. For you, you are entirely biased but still find yourself coming short all the time and grappling for straws in your many tribally-tainted arguments.
All the things you wrote in the section I highlighted is simply saying one thing: You are telling us that since it is a war, then people can kill whoever they like? Why do non igbos always forget about war crimes whenever the issue of the civil war is being discussed.

Again you are justifying the killings of igbos because a couple of igbo soldiers killed from other tribes? Where is your sense of fairness! Are you also going to justify recent killings in the north, election period killing of corpers? Or do you think they dont have their reasons for going on a killing spree? Common, their candidate was rigged out so it is fair to kill anyone who looks like a kinsman of the winner of the 'rigged' election. Isnt that what you should be telling me too?
I am the Devil?! shocked Wow! This is a new twist! Congratulations! You are the first to go with the "Devil" line.

Anyways, I'm sad that you feel I have hatred for my people. The truth is I harbor no such hate towards Igbos, I only hate the man Ojukwu and hate the blind support he seems to be getting.

I have pointed out severally that we do not need to be in agreement regarding his issue, but when the chips are down, make logical arguments. I believe I have made my points clear severally. I have even invited anyone who thinks I have got it wrong to engage me in a fact based debate/discussion and all I get is a bunch of Juvenile delinquents calling me names and other such crap.

I am glad you said I am not learned in this matter (and I honestly don't consider myself an authority on Biafran issues either), but you seem to have this subject matter quite figured out, so please feel free to enlighten my ignorance. I will more than love to have an adult discussion with you on this matter if you are up to it.
I dont know about others but I have read where you posted very bad things about igbos. It is even on this thread that you threatned to curse igbos! Your 'own people'?!! How can a true igbo person curse his own tribe because few igbo people he met on nairaland does not agree with his view point. I know you are brushing it off but that completely made me doubt your igbo claim!

He actually incited the killings. It was massively televised when he alleged that there has been nocturnal activities and 'proof' of jets moving around electoral material on the eve of the election. He said it when he cast his vote in his village and everybody watched it!

We all know the result of that allegation: hundreds dead and still no proof from your 'honest man' supporting all his inciting claims!

If that is the entire idea then trust me you are on the right track.

This immortalization of Ojukwu issue is quite sensitive. I respect the wishes of his many fans who feel he deserves to be immortalized. But I feel that the onus of immortalizing him should fall squarely on the shoulders of the Easterners. Ojukwu was hero to them and not to Nigeria. If Peter Obi in his infinite wisdom wants to remane the Government house in Anambra state "Ojukwu House", then he should please go ahead. If Nnewi wants to be remaned UmuOdimimegwu then fine.
