churchgoers are not necessarily true christians osisi, don't forget.
oh quiet you

ehie:
abeg i don go oh! the stupid ideology of feminsm is what is bringing the western society to its knees, Britain and most of Europe are now contending with the fallout of dysfunctional societies, eg
Binge Drinking
Knife Crimes Holiganism all because the most important structure of the society is collapsing, the family
Continue to kid yourself and get married with your strong head,
i give love 6 months tops
Character,Kindeness Loyalty an eternity.
Choose the way u all want to go, bye all
dalu

i mean i understand what yal are saying. i mean i now see a different perception of being "submissive". I know im a lil bit stubborn and head strong, but that is just me. im working on it. I know when i get married that alot of what im saying will be changing noting i marry the right man. But alot of what im saying now will still stand.

I don't even think that women like it when their husband is not strong or even treat them as equal come to think of it. The 'naija girls' in particular will think you are not man enough because all they learnt about marriage from their fathers is that the husband is the lord.

I will prefer a reasonable babe fom over here to anyone from naija any day because I need a friend and a companion not a slave. Most women like it when they have no say.

I heard of guy in Kaduna who would not discuss with his wife. His reason was that if he does the woman will take him as equal. Whenever he wanted to have a chat, he would go to a woman married to to another man.

The so called was loving it and was calling him her husband
Lord of gini??

Queenisha:
God bless you.
Onyinye needs to read this.
The key is in finding the right man and submission comes easy.
If you have a man that would lay down his life for you and the kids, there's nothing you wouldn't do for him
You guys act as if im the woman from the "Devil Wears Prada" oka of course i would willing feed my husband, cater to his needs, be there when he needs me, respect him as the man, but there as to be something said on my part. Oka it can't be the man making all the decisions in the household, am i not his partner?? Don't i get to decide the final decision too?

@Pataki   am just a lone voice in the wilderness,
Am just tired of all these aggresive attititudes some chicks pull.

the numbers of degreess and doughs and visa stamps don't make u a better person just a flashy one, it is wha u think, how u act, what u do
Nne, abeg go and submit your life to your husband.

HCH3COO:
u are a lost cause.  embarassed
blah blah blah.

Queenisha:
unless the man is incarcerated.
anyone that says her husband will not be the head is kidding.
That's the only way the marriage will work

submission doesn't mean slavery

totally agree
partnership that splits up 60% of the time is no longer partnership
na madness.
There is an order for marriage.
Just like there's an order in your place of employment.
Your boss is not a dictator is he?
but he makes the final decisions and cannot function alone without the employees.

submission is not synonymous with dictatorship
So now im an employee?? oh goodness gracious.(faints over in astonishment)
I think u have a picture of a man that will tell the wife what to do, what to eat, what to wear and who to talk to, sister, that is no marriage, that is slavery, because submitting to your husband don't means he will rule u, he will only guide you and together, you will grow and be happy together, infact, many ladies control their husband and yet they don't know it.
hmmm, you do speak some truth.

HCH3COO:
It is a partnership with a God-chosen dictator.  How dare you disobey the will of God.
I was born and raised in the Anglican Church so you can't tell me nothing about the Will of God. im just saying is that why can't we both lead? Two is always better than one.

My dear, with this stand, you may not be married for too long.
Go and mark my words.
There can never be 2 captains in a ship
Last i heard, a marriage was a partnership not a dictatorship.

davidylan:
how old is onyinye2? 15?  grin
add six years to that.
there is no 2 ways about it, it is either u want to respect the word of God or not, if you want to respect it, yo have to submit to your husband, however, there is a gray area between submission and being stupid, submission don't means when he is beating u and maltreating u, u have to say yes sir, it means, u have to let him lead, and likewise same bible says, the husband has to love their wife, like jesus loves the church and he gave his life for it, so if the man loves his wife like such, trust me, submission would be so easy.
Nne, define submission for me.

rubi:
The husband is the head there is no doubt about it ut in this part of the world where we are in no help from anyone and the man refuse to be sensitive to the woman need like onyinye rightly said at least when a woman comes back from work and the man is less busy at home just help to prepare something for her it will not make him not to be the head of the house the boys will copy too and treat their wives the same
All said and put to law.

HCH3COO:
Are you not inhabiting the same householdhuhhuh   grin
Yeah but he can control the kids but as for me, mba.

Nice offer but i will pass. You sound like you would be willing to be a man who stays home for a living. And i don't deal with slackers.

the husband is the head, that is what the bible said, submission, when u go out of God's will ,
well the rest is history
if u don't respect your husban how will your kids respect u and the world they are to enter.
selflessness is not foolishness
Nne you got it all wrong. You see i understand that the man is the leader of the household but not over me. Of course i would take of my husband's every need and so will he do the same. But submission, mba

The guys who were raised in the states are good. And so are the ones born and raised in naija. But those mu mu ones over shadow the good ones.

ehie, how do you qualify this statement?  A girl who is standoff-ish and pompous, who refuses to cook for her husband because she's the president of her company?    See why I say a lot of these girls don't share our similar interests.  ehie, I might need your number soon. you're a rare gem.  kiss  .  If my wife's work gets in the line of her homely responsibilities, she must find a job that honors the safety of our marriage.
I would of course cook for my family. That is a priority. But sometimes when i come home, i am tired, i would like to see a nice little meal waiting for me.
HCH3COO:
how you take know this  huh  playing the gender card again? that's another thing about yankee girls: feminist brigades.
Oh so you want your wife to walk behind where ever you go??

Its so easy to get divorced in America, "our marriage isnt working" so it ends, its like people don't put their hearts in it.
Nigerian culture knocks into u that u should stay a virgin and stay with your husband till u die,
bottom line is that the reason most guys marry Nigerian girls is that they are more patient, more in tune with their positions as wives and not as rivals.don't oversate their independence ie i earn a million dollars, blal bla bla,
Husband,  first,Kids Second Yourself third, even if u are the president, u go home and cook for your husband
so far it has worked the divorce rate in most african countries is far less that those in the  west,
You had me until right about there.

Yes, its a question of choosing to be compatible with someone. Yes, I agree with you.

BUT i think its intimidation, when it becomes a conscious decision when one purposefully opts not to date someone abroad just because they're abroad (at least try them out. give them a chance.) don't assume they're any less Nigerian,  ,  there's no difference in a WELL MANNERED, EDUCATed Niger babe abroad and a well mannered education babe in Niger.  no difference. same lessons. same manners.
Thank You very much. kiss

And i hate to admit it too but yeah i was blessed to have so strict parents. But im glad i was raised like that.

Ginihuh explain yourself.

Thats very wonderful of them
I didn't think so at the time. They were so strict and made us learn the Lord's Prayer in igbo and i was like "I can't wait to leave" but when i left all the things they taught me helped through alot.

Through being born to Nigerian parents?  Or because your Nigerian parents implemented Nigerian culture in your home and exposed you to the way Nigerians live huh  or because you see it?  Seeing is not enough.

I think the Nigerian girls abroad get caught in the dilemma of too worlds (the western and the Nigerian); they adapt to the new society; which makes the Nigerian guys scared that girls are unstable and thus choose going back to Nigeria,  I do not support this, but what can they do?
I wonder why folk feel this way. I mean i got the best of both worlds. Both Nigeria and The States.
