If you think the lady’s utterance was coming from a bitter place, there’s a high chance her views are skewed and incorrect. Again, in that case, it would not bother me one bit as mentioned earlier.

I was angry initially but I began to look at it from a broader perspective. This could happen in a place of work or anywhere. People get denied of opportunities because of what someone said which are mostly untrue. Peoples images are damaged because of meaningless comments here and there.

Well, you may need to add some context to this. Was this neighbor planning to do something terrible to you or just generally sharing their opinions about you? For me, if it she was just sharing her views, she is definitely entitled to it. It wouldn’t bother me if such views are incorrect. I could also take it as constructive criticism if it comes across as such.

Like it is said, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” I’d definitely be curious to learn more from such an individual on their perspective about me in certain instances.

I will pass on this one. When someone say terrible things about you because they are bitter or whatever, trying to recruit others to their camp, there's absolutely nothing you learn from such a person. Whatever I cannot say to your face, why say it at all?

Thank you. I hate exchanging words with people, knowing it could degenerate into a fight or worse.

So, I have this neighbor who sells some stuff but for some reasons, I wasn't comfortable buying from her. I buy from the market. This really got her angry and I didn't even know this until recently when she would mention it.

To what really happened, I was home one day and she probably assumed I wasn't. She started saying very terrible things about me to another neighbor that it scared me that another human being would really do that. I was very angry while I was inside my room deciding what exactly to do. I thought of confronting but I decided against it. Eventually I went out, greeted both of them and she was shocked that I was at home. I could see guilt written all over her even days after.

Have you walked in on people or heard by chance people talking ill and evil about you? How did you handle it?

I know and honestly, I don't entirely agree with the OP but I hate how some of these people play saints all over posts like this.
I got these guys where I want them. Are these ladies in question not being messed up by the same guys. I have brothers and I would want them to marry well. But, be bold enough to eat what you serve.

That I am a snub when I'm only minding my business and walking my lane jejely.

Indoor mostly except when going out is necessary. I am completely drained when I stay out with people for too long.

Give us background information so that we can work and walk up from there. Meanwhile, if you are at fault, humble yourself and apologize.

These are very valid points because we have come to understand that love is not just enough to sustain a relationship. Communication, understanding and a little compromise here and there are important for the success of marriage or any relationship at all.
