Journalists can hardly be replaced by robots.... are you trying to tell me that CNN's Christiane Amanpour or Jim Clancy can be replaced by a robot? c'mon... even if the robot was Iron-mans Jarvis, there are some things about Journalism that forever remain classic N.B reporting is part of Journalism. |
Ask her if she had ever seen any of such in your phone at any point in time... if she replies the affirmative, then take her to lunch at a choice eatery - why? she's followed your steps well as a younger sibling, but if she replies the negative, then preach the word to her on the spot and ask her to surrender her life to Christ right there and then... the Results of both scenarios; Both of you are happy and no respect is lost on both sides. simple! |

Funny enough I never crashed a car when learning how to drive. I was looking and observing how a car was being driven by drivers basically for a while, and that was it... one day I just summoned up courage to take the car for a spin (lol No one was home though) it was a Peugeout 504 sedan and voila! the rest came easily, I was 14 at the time. though I was stealing the car for undercover movements (Mostly racing with my mates in the neighbourhood- we had a wide road that was deserted in the quarters, that was usually the ground for our crazy stunts and maneuvers), as I was still considered an underaged driver. But by the time I was 18-19years I was driving buses, trucks, power bikes... driving came easily to me though. Though I remember some very close shaves, but not blowing my horn, I guess I was just too good a driver, because I loved the adrenalin of close shaves when behind the wheel. Although my scariest experience in my early driving days was when I was chased by road safety once because I escaped a road check, my main fear was; "what would happen to me if I got caught " because I had no license yet and as usual I stole the car for a spin, basically I would have been barbecued shish, so I drove like crazy and apparently the officers did not give up the chase easily, until I did the mother of all stunts; I sudddenly swerved a 180 and drove against traffic, I am pretty sure the officers applauded that move because they gave up lol... but when I got home that day I kept a low profile for 1 week praying the FRSC peeps didnt register the plate number and trace the car... Fortunately they didnt. |

bebe2:it depends, to me, London is not a genuine tongue twisting place. Due to the fact english is the order of the day and tooo many Nigerians are in the UK who are still abreast with their way of speaking. Try living 7years in Portugal, Romania or Croatia basically somewhere unenglished, then check your accent or pidgin aptitude after then. No one will tell you that you are scarded. |
holyboss:it depends |

nortcentrallord:But thats my point! INEC has lost its voice. How am I being funny? |
odikomo1:Trust me After consistently speaking a language like French, German or Turkish for 6years plus, your accent or way of speaking can never-I repeat, **Never!!** be the Same... so dude sometimes and most times, its not intentional- personally, I have forgotten how to speak pidgin English and it still baffles me that I have forgotten how, like I understand pidgin but my brain has just gotten the whole thing Tumbled up and constructing a sentence in pidgin is a huge challenge for me now. Last week I saluted a Naija brother "How far now?" and he got soooo excited and started cracking pidgin(Mind you, I have not attempted pidgin in 5years now) and because we were surrounded by fascinated white people who were listening to the loud unique language, I wanted to showoff my culture too by sustaining the conversation in pidgin but I suddenly realized pidgin became really difficult, like trying to freestyle a hiphop rap line, I was like; "I had been wan started to check am Yani..." and thats it! thats where I got stuck; I started mixing up slangs/words that were not pidgin in an attempt to speak it, and I was frustrated because I knew I had lost my touch(You see I have this way of saying either "Yani" or "aslínda" when speaking generally and it was creeping into the pidgin too) secondly my accent is sorta bent now(It can't support pidgin easily -so I'v noticed), due to my constant French and Turkçe. Apparently the guy noticed and switched to proper english in order for me to make sense and make the conversation easier for me, and the instant he did, (and I knew why he did) I felt so fake an African especially since I clearly wanted to showoff that day but could'nt-I am very sure he would have laughed at me sore when he left. In such a case, would you blame me or many others in my situation?? Abeg don't talk about this case joor, you have no idea. |
