hotboz: Thanks for the good work here.
I was diagnosed with glaucoma today. What should I expect? They said it's still at the early stage though. good it was diagnosed this early. It's what you manage all through life. You 'll have to stick to your drugs, and Dr's regular appointment for check ups. Then advise other family members to get screened for it too |

Bluehill1051: Hello, thank you for being here. For the past 6 years I've been on glasses for short sight. I've never changed it, neither is my sight improving. I really want to stop using the glasses or at least not depend too much on it. Are there drugs I can use or what do you suggest. PS. I use glasses watching TV and driving. It's that serious there aint any drug for that . refractive surgery isn't a common option yet in nigeria as well as it having it cons and not everyone would be good candidate for it. You may aswell explore the option of contact lenses instead of spectacles |

solalal36: Hello! My eyes are sensitive to light. I noticed this long time ago(about 8 years ago when I was a teen). When I walk under the sun or someone shines a light on my face, my eyes hurt. At times, after prolonged exposure to light (all kinds of light), my eyes start to itch me, it hurts and usually leads to frontal headache(headache around my forehead). So I deprive myself of light without using my phone, light bulb and so on then relives me after some days). Three years ago, I went to a new eye clinic and it was diagnosed as "photophobia". I was told I'm going to get AR(anti reflective lenses). I didn't get it as I was still in school and didn't have money then. Recently, I started learning computer programming and I've been using my laptop and phone for about 14 hours per day and the eye hurts and headache have been disturbing a lot. Now, I want to know if I can go ahead and get the the AR lens without medical prescription or I go to an eye clinic again.
NB: I went to a boarding school and my family isn't financially buoyant so I result to Garri(cassava flakes) most times without milk. Now that I've finished with Uni, I still drink Garri a lot but I haven't for almost a week now...
Please, I need medical opinions ( to go to eye clinic or get the AR lens myself?)
I will be expecting your positive responses you may be having discomfort glare with or without refractive error. You definitely need to visit an eye clinic and a photochromic AR lenses having your prescription if you are having an associated refractive error would be helpful |

Abukeke: Hello Doc, Kindly advise please - 1) What is the cause of blurred vision usually after I've looked at my phone for a while. 2) Also, there are times I see a red vein-like mark on my eye and whenever this happens, i usually feel pain in that part of my eye and will even find it difficult to look at the sun. Although i think that this red thing comes possibly when i don't get enough sleep. Thirdly sir, at what age is reading glasses usually recommended as I squint when i have to read and i've started squinting to fix thread in a needle. Thank you adressing questions 1 nd 3 you may be having a refractive error or might have attained presbyopic age ( 38yrs and above ) hence would be requiring glasses to help you . As regards quest 2, I can't really relate with what you are trying to describe . Having a visual of it would be helpful |

oderinde151: Good evening Doctor, I don't know what the problem is but sometimes I just start blinking continuously and then stop. It worsens if someone asks why I'm blinking so fast because I'd now focus on the blinking and it would take alot of time to take off my mind of it or to stop it. well, eyelid twitching can be caused by stress or refractive error most times. You'll need to have an eye exam to rule out the presence of refractive error. If you take caffine, you should also reduce the intake too. A cold compress on the eyes could help when it twitches . |

Family › Re: Marrying Financially Stable One Or The One You Love? by optm(m): 8:03pm On Dec 15, 2020 |
It depends on the type of man he is .... Ask yourself these questions and answer sincerely. Do you think the reason for his financial struggles is because he lacks necessary support? Would you be able to provide the needed support or help in getting the support? I wouldn't advice you to go ahead in marrying him. Let him at least have something bringing income. Infact he has not business thinking about marriage without sorting his finances . He musnt be rich but should at least have a source of income that can carter for himself and you to an extent. Even the bible stated that a man that cannot provide for his household is worse than an infidel. If you so love him, see how you can help him come out of this financial state and not just financing his needs or the marriage. marrying him in this state isn't advisable. Well, in all, pray for God's leading if you are a Christian cos he knows the end from the beginning. |

Most men saying he shouldn't bring her back might be guilty of same infidelity they are condemning a woman of . Dear OP if you can truely forgive her, then go ahead nd resolve issues with her. Follow your mind. If she's sorry about her deeds, then bring her in. We are all humans whether male or female, none is infallible. If you are a Christian, remember Jesus didn't condemn the woman caught in the act of adultry even when those around wanted her executed just like your neighbours and some nairalanders are seeking. I'll say you Give her another Chance . I'm not in support of her infidelity but i m just being human enough realizing we are imperfect . Follow your heart |

I have been taking garlic for over a month now. I heard it's good for the health and they said it contains antioxidant. I hope it's not the reason why the pressure is high cause i injest garlic heavily these days. Garri gives me eye ache and headache too i don't know if there is connection between garri and IOP
Thanks for the good work you are doing here. lolz garri and iop. Well, until there's a research to establish that but for now, there's no relationship between garri and iop. Same for the garlic. I ll advise you to put your mind at rest and ensure you keep to your doc's appointments |

Even if the pressures are within normal, over time, you ll need to do the visual field test and compare with the previous to check if there's progression of the disease. |

Antiochus: Hello Doc The last time i checked my IOP it was 12/12 that was 2 months ago. I checked it today and it read 18/18 the Doc said 18 is normal for a non glaucoma patient but for a glaucoma patient like me it is sub-normal. So she said i should continue using the Betaxolol and i was given an appointment till next year february she said if the pressure is still at 18 or above by the time she'll have to place me on another medication in order to lower the pressure.
I don't experience dry eyes anymore but i still see starburst which i complained about and she beamed a pen-like torch into my eyes and said my cornea is still ok.

The white that get duped by yahoo boys on a daily basis are still far better than us because we get duped every millisecond by our politicians.
Budget of N7 trillion but can't pay salaries. Our law makers earn more than Donald Trump (who earns in dollar) on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis!
Those ones are the real yahoo grand pas and grand mas!
Think about it. i agree our politicians are a mess and have put us in a very bad situation , nevertheless, it isn't a reason to excuse evil. We should never make excuses for evil. Your excuse cannot make the act of fraud a good thing. You can speak against the wickedness of politicians as well as that of yahoo . You may not know the harm these people cause genuine hustling nigerians and the many opportunities their actions rob genuinely hustling nigerians off aside the damage they cause their victims that are humans like you and me. Think about it |
