Masdec: Hello Dr.
Been a while sir, I went to see the Dr. as agreed on the appointment date but on getting to the hostpital i learnt the young, kind soft spoken peadiatric optm had just died few days ago. I was now told the Dr. available wasnt a peaditric specialist even though she told me its something she can handle. Now, his eyes turn inwards to the extreme whenever he has to look farther but remains normal or almost normal for nearby objects. The lady Dr. there said the glasses need to be reviewed for that reason.
my concern now is, can any opthalmologist attend to him or i look for another peaditric, also, she was the first person i met and she refered me to the other dr that died that he's a specialist in children. secondly, i hope continous use of this glass pending when i resolve which Dr to see next doesnt invalidate whatever success/improvement we must have had.
Thank you sir hi! Sorry for loosing your kid's Dr. Well, if the other Dr feels she can handle it, it's not in my place to doubt her competence as she knows capabilities . You could give her a trial and if it doesn't improve, then, ask her to refer you to a specialist. And yes she ll need to review the lens prescription and probably incorporate prisms. You should continue with the glasses you are having now until another is given. I ll find your previous post on this when i ve got the time so i can advise properly |

quentin06: Didn't say all foreigners don't pay tax. Have you been to Lagos lately? Do you know how difficult it is to commute if you don't own a vehicle, keke , bikes banned, buses are not enough, think the LGSG lacks focus on transport matters. i think this is a different issue entirely. Yes the govt isn't doing enough as regards transportation system and the yellow buses drivers are exploiting commuters with their high fare price and indescriminate increase at every slight opportunity |

quentin06: Why do we need middlemen to hail a cab? I prefer the idea of a locally made app, can't pin my hopes on foreign apps owned by foreigners who pay no tax to the local govt. is your concern hailing a cab through a middle man or that it is a foreign enterprise? The locally made app would also be acting as a middle man for the service. If at all your assumption of the foreigners not paying tax, then it isnt their fault but the nigerian system that has made it so |

nwigwemark: From the write up I can understand that the drivers are only interested in Uber and Taxify increasing the transportation fares so that they will get more money.
We are always selfish and I am very sure that this will fail from ab initio because as they leave the platform of Über and Taxify, more drivers will definitely get onboard and I am 10000% sure that the so called local app can never compete with the established companies greed is a major problem of africans. I wounder how people miss the reason for their agitation and in wanting a local company that would give them free rein to do as they please. |

Anything that has to do with eating would always sell and being in a student environment is strategic already as students are always hungry and most times may not have the time to prepare food or too lazy to do that. A quick snacking outfit wouldn't be a bad idea or you could take your stuffs along with you to lecture halls |

omoharry: How does he intend to do that ? its not about to talk vaguely .He need to tell Nigerians how he intend to do that, knowing that we have a larger number in the House of assembly who would shoot down this bill that see it scale through. How can we restructure this country without going through those devils in the house? We need a break down of how he intend to make this changes that will be different from the ones we have been promised that never materialized.Give a man power and you will know if he is be a good leader or an arrogant tyrant. he's only indicating interest telling you why he intends contensting for the position. He has not started campaigning. I am sure there'll be time to marshall out his strategy for that. We cannot continue recycling same persons in power and expect different results. Let nigerians get someone that raises the bar of governance, they would not want to settle for less. We have become so used to bad leadership that anyone that does just a little with the enormous resource available at their disposal is praised . Let's get it right in the presidency ( giving attention to education and economic prosperity of the general populace) and you see the taste of nigerians change in the quality of people they elect into political offices. Nigerian leaders have over the years weaponised poverty nd illiteracy. The decayed educational system is not helping in producing a truly enlightened people |

Asour: That's the challenge with being of diverse generations in conversations such as these.
Declinism (tendency to see the past as better) at time doesn't allow us see how changing circumstances make previously achievable objectives much more harder as time passes.
For e.g. It's just like Li-Kashing teaching you how to be a real estate investor in Hong Kong today. Very likely impossible to be as successful as he has since circumstances available to him (even though he's a brilliant Businessman) are none existent now.
Another factor people in 'successful' marriage play down on nowadays is the compromises of their partners to making the marriage work. This is because the party making the compromises never tell them. They (that party) bear the burden as their life's cross. While the less compromising one often goes around touting how successful they've had the marriage.
The day this compromise stops (God forbid) everything unravels.
God help us. yeah i quite agree |
Romance › Re: Why Are So Many Decent People Single Nowadays? by optm(m): 5:15pm On May 30, 2021 |
Eriokanmi: Yea. Then, people nowadays have set a seemingly unachievable standard for themselves in view of what's obtainable in the present day world. Hardly would you see a man who would want to marry in a single room. Hardly would you also see a lady who would marry a guy who's struggling or managing in one room with shared toilets...whereas the billionaires and successful men and women of today started their lives this way after marriage. Some even married and managed in a friend's house before being buoyant enough to rent an apartment.
No jobs yet, those managing small salary job believe they can't survive with that, as if they created themselves in this world. They've forgotten the fact that God is always there to turn things around. I've referred to my case in various instances here in the past. I married in a room apartment with a leaked roof. Our kitchen was located outside the house . Today, all I can say is, thank God because there's nothing my peer can lay hands on, globally that I can't afford, except private jets but when the time is ripe and God says I'd acquire one, it will happen.
Youths of nowadays can't start from little...both male and female alike and that's why some of them take to fraud, rituals which many call yahoo plus. If you ask them whyare theyinto such illicit acts, they'd tell you there's no job but if you ask whether they could take up a 50k job, na insult you dey find. I started with 11k salary nearly 2 decades ago. My wife earned almost same amount and we saved and rented the one room apartment after which we got married. I've dined with pres Obama and other prominent figures globally. I remember a day I visited my friend who was a driver in Naira Pool, a pool company off Allen. The owner was very rich. I once heard his son say, he would never settle for anything less than 100k minimum as a fresh graduate as of that time. I just graduated as well. 100k that time is like 400k now. The last time I saw him, he was operating a small laundry outfit in Allen avenue. Things dabaru after their father died. You don't have to keep up with the jonesis in life. Make do with what you have and all will be alright. Our marriage was low-key and we've achieved far more than what those whom I knew growing up, who had expensive wedding published in ovation. I wonder why Africans don't copy the oyinbos we always copy them wrongly and in the end , we find ourselves in a mess. it can be difficult getting a partner willing to build life with you. Infact , You could get depressed from the nagging when the reality of struggling to meet up with bills sets in. Our value system has greatly changed and what worked then might not work now. |

badoh: The infractions this illiterate president have committed is enough to get him impeached. What is even his usefulness to this country other than insecurities , high inflation, nepotism and the country tending towards disintegration. you kind of wonder why this president cannot be impeached? Nothing is working. If we are honest to ourselves , we would know that all nigerian politicians have got one another's back at the detriment of the people. They are there to have their share of the national cake. The well-being of nigerians doesn't matter to these people we elected into various political office |
Politics › Re: We Have Been Borrowing From Recovered Loot - Zainab Ahmed by optm(m): 8:32am On May 28, 2021 |
smallsmall: God forbid we bring PDP or APC back! PDP and APC are the same set of people, they just move around from one party to another, depending on where there is the next money to loot.
Look at Saraki for example, he was APC, then PDP, then APC, then back to PDP "today". Look at Governor Umahi of Ebonyi and that Ayade from Cross Rivers, they are PDP but now they have moved to APC. Tomorrow, they will be back in PDP and you want us to vote for them again?
Look at our Legislators, they move from one party to another, "Men of the Belly". Nigeria's problems is beyond these two Rogue parties, if we want to tell ourselves the truth and if we are intelligent Citizens, not Zombies. We need fresh Party and fresh individuals, not these bankrupt rouges trying to be President again you are very onpoint. How would a sane person who's not intellectually incapacitated be suggesting pdp in place of apc? Like what's the difference between these two parties? |

For now, there are no drugs i know of that can make one stop using glasses . Whatever approach you intend using, just be careful not to cause damage to your eyes |

tunmexx: I have been using glasses for a long time.I was told to use it for 6 months but it has extended to six years.I have myopia and the constant use of glasses has caused my eyeballs to enter inside. What can I do to get my eyeballs back to shape and also to improve my eyesight? Is there any drug I can also use? well, i have heard some persons say glasses cause their eyes to appear sunken especially myopes. Although, there isn't a clear cut explanation for this, but a possible explanation could be using a higher power of glasses than required hence , the person tends to shut the eyes a little most times because the excess lens power causes objects to tend to appear brighter but not clearer. This also creates tension that could impact on the eye ball making it sunken but doesn't cause it to reduce in size anyways. There's another opinion that the eyes are not sunken but an illusion due to the minifying effect of myopia corrective lenses . Well , as for what you can use to improve your eye sight, there's really nothing much except use of corrective glasses or contact lenses. There are other unpopular options like orthokeratology, refractive surgery and use of implantable collemar lenses . |

yvonneegwuonwu: Good day doctor. I’ve been having irritation in my eyes due to an allergic reaction(I’m allergic to dust). I even had to do an examination to be sure and the doctor there said my vision is good. What can I do to reduce the amount of dust that goes into my eyes coz I work in a dusty environment. Is it okay if I get normal glasses(not recommended) ? there are protective eye goggles suitable for your environment. If you can get glasses with side shield, that would be helpful. You could also get safety googles from online or an eye clinic around |
