Antiochus: Don't mind me Doc. I thought may be the one drop is not enough. Though I don't miss the application twice daily as instructed. I spot a private eye clinic around yesterday I'll visit there on Friday to check my iop. ok then |

Antiochus: I apply one to an eye wait for the eye to absorb it then apply another before moving to the next eye to do same. I have been doing that since November last year when my iop measured 18. lolz, why's that? Weren't you told how to use your drops? That's wrong, u should use as instructed and if it's not bringing down your iop to targeted level, the Dr knows what to do . |

Antiochus: Alright thanks. I made enquiries about govt hospitals in Lagos I was told patients use to flood their eye section so I have to be there early. And it's possible i might not see the doctor that day. I just need to check my eye pressure to know the current reading because the Doc managing me told me if the pressure is still at 18 they'll have to change my drug. My last scheduled appointment was last week Friday but I couldn't go back to my state to see my Doctor. And this 25k this private hospital billed me is too much. other clinics around you would charge lesser fee. If you can come to VI, with 7k you would be attended to; iop inclusive . |

Antiochus: Hello Doc.
I have an eye glass prescribed by an ophthalmologist which I have been using for some time but I saw one online and I so much love the frame but it has diopters which means the lens are not ordinary lens I told the seller I need one without prescribed lens but he said he doesn't have that. Please if you can put me through which lens is suitable for someone with 6/5-3 and 6/9 visual acuity from the picture attached below.
I just need to buy the right one that suit my Visual Acuity.
Cc: optm it doesn't work that way . There's no way one can tell your lens power without having you undergo the required test. Since you so love the frame, you can get any of them and take it to your eye Dr to have your prescription put into it |

cocolacec: High Birth rate is not the problem.Chinese population is larger than Nigeria.Chinese are the producers for the world.Nigeria can take the African market for a start.
Nigeria needs to go on mass industrialization we must produce everything we use in the country only then can we be free from poverty. People are the energy, every country needs.A country without young people is doomed to perish or replaced by foreigners. it is a problem in nigeria where resources to make them responsible citizens are lacking.... Just imagine adults giving birth and not taking responsibility to provide their kids with what's necessary to make become responsible adults in the society ? If this isn't controlled, it's wouldn't be funny a few years from now. |

It spells doom for the country. With the birth rate unchecked and kids not being given good care , crime rate now would be child's play in comparison to what's coming. Our leaders lack foresight |

precadel: Hi doc. I was having headaches and eye aches so I went to the hospital and the doctor prescribed glasses for me. Then my mum called the doctor and the doctor said it's because of my phone and computer usage. Please what's is defect I am having because the doctor didn't explain to me. Also when I went to meet the lady in charge of lens I opted in for photochromic, hope it won't affect the original lens prescribed by the doctor. Although the doctor said to try use the glasses for 4months and get back to him but I don't know the name of my defect as it is shocking to me. Also does it really take that long to get the lenses? hi there, i really can't be specific on a diagnosis but i am certain you are having a refractive error which could be hyperopia, astigmatism or myopia. Your choice of a photochromic lens wouldn't affect your Dr's original prescription . You should be fine using your glasses |

Antiochus: Hello Doc. I have left my state and I won't be going home until April that means I won't be around for the appointment the Doc scheduled for February. I'm in Lagos now I decided to visit a private hospital here in Lag and explain things to them I was billed 25k before I could see an eye specialist there. I was shocked to hear that so I left after my registration there. They only gave me a card and opened a file for me at the rate of 2k. lolz . Health care can be expensive these days. You should probably check elsewhere . I am sure you ll find one that's affordable to you . Where in lagos are you? |

Why do many Nigerians look down on people's hustle? What ever it is you are enjoying now that makes you think you are better of than the other person, you have to realize that it's not of your making o. If life favours you and happens to be easy for you, be grateful because you have limited control over life's events. You could have been the other person. |

Also recurrent stye could be associated with diabetes and sometimes, there may be need to rule out basal cell carcinoma. As for the floaters, there are different causes for such. Let him visit an eye clinic for an eye exam and afterwards the best approach in handling it would be known . |

ethicallyright: Dr Good Evening, Thanks for your free medical advice here.
I actually wear transition lenses (glasses with photochromic dyes) because of my sensitivity to light. I have Myopia with a touch of glaucoma (Doctor's words verbatim). I last visited the eye clinic last November,2019. But the eye doctor gave me drugs( transfered it from the packet to a drug bag so that I won't see the name of the drugs) . The doctor also gave me Brimopress Sterile Eye drops (Brimonidine Tartrate Ophthalmic Solution 0.2%).
My Mum booked the appointment at the clinic and drove me there so I have not been able to visit the clinic since then. The Doctor said I should check up every month and my glasses would expire after two years.
My Drugs finished since 2019 , my Eye drops finished since early 2020 and I'm very dependent on glasses right now (my Mum told me if I wore my glasses everytime I won't need them again) but reverse was the case.
I can't watch TV or even drive without glasses. From around April last year I used to even wear it to the bathroom before taking my bath. That's how dependent I have become but I see very clearly with my glasses.
Am I dependent on my glasses because I don't go for checkup? Can I buy the eye drops the doctor gave me again but the doctor said that during checkups the pressure of my eyes would be measured to determine the eye drops I should use.
Can you make recommendations for me please. Thanks Sir. it appears you cannot see without glasses because your eyes have gotten used to seeing better with the glasses . It is very important to monitor your eye pressure and possibly do a visual field analysis test to ensure your eyes are not deteriorating from glaucoma and also very important, your medications as glaucoma is a disease you manage throughout life else you loose your vision . My advise is that you find a clinic around you to assess your eyes and place you on the appropriate meds . |
