adebisi00700: I was bringing down tears, while reading this. It's well, thank you for your advice sir! I'm at a point where I have lost all hope.....is more than just charcoal, I recieved a news month back that wrecked me. It has to do with health, but is going to be fine! It's well Work on your health first bro. I'm a business owner and I can tell you one good thing, there are always good times and bad times in business. it's more like a rollercoaster. As a fact, most business folks experience more bad times and few good. At some point, I once thought of suicide when things went really bad. But thank God for my mum who is constantly reminding me of God's promises. Trust me, some days you will look back and understand this are just scars of victory. Enjoy |

This isn't a scam at all, just a case of misunderstanding. I don't believe the Adebisi is a scammer. I'm into business so most atimes I can say things don't go as mostly planned. I once had a client money at hand running into millions and things didn't go as we planned it will. Good thing the client was understanding and educated. We came to a compromise and in a short time, we came to terms and we still run business till today.
Adebisi0070, take the back seat for now, restrategise on your business skills, learn more bout it and work on being the best version you crave. |

Greatn3ss: What is that particular thing that you bought or that project you carried out that really affected your bank account?
Mine was last 2 years when I acquired a land, up till now I've not recovered from it. And funny enough they are presently dragging the land with me but its well I have alot but 2 major instances. I was young and naive and my mum was like I needed to start planning my live etc. I was in my early 20s but I was blessed. So I saw this house for 35m, it was a perfect bungalow in ibadan in a very descent area if not the best estate till now. Business was booming so I decided to follow mamas advise that you ain't getting younger do a capital project. I had like 25m as per total worth, and I'm like make I shook head. Na so I follow the agent talk before you know mumcee Don Carry me enter her association to collect 5m loan she also had 5m for me. Within month I paid almost 45m. 10 percent to my lawyer 10 percent to the agent and some other land use act then. Oboy for months I didn't recover. Na that time business no come like before. Where I dey make money again I got transferred out. I wan die. I was using my salary to service like 2 different loans still it wasn't enough. My personal business no dey move. As in ehnnnn. Las Las after almost a year I recovered but not after becoming wiser. The lesson I learnt is don't rush into buying personal properties. If it's for business, go ahead but invest before planning. This days the house just dey there. I'm not married, my fiancee no even dey within arms reach. I fit no reach the house in 6month. It was really not worth it. If I invested the money into business as at then, chances are I would have doubled it within that period and by now I for even buy better and bigger house 2nd was when I got my an hotel. Some 2 years ago. I was already in my mid 20s. Na so person talk am for my mum ear hotel business dey sell and even showed her one for sale somewhere in the Southwest. Being the only guy mumcee called and did everything possible to sell the idea. She even called my fiancee who is abroad and told her I'm being intrasigent. As I had my eye in another sector for investment and my japa. Las Las I took the idea as per hotel no dey short. Price was 50m. We begged till 38m and I'm to pay twice. Mumee loaned me quarter of it as she will be using the big supermart beside the gate to make money. We Sha buy. It's being two years now and have not recovered. Sure hotel business dey pay as no how no how people go do short time and drink beer + buy for their banny. But nepa bill alone ehnnnnnnn. No regret on this Sha as within 3 years I should be able to get the capital back. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: My Bitter Job Hunting Experience Yesterday. by Oracleee: 10:51am On May 20, 2023 |
9jagovernor: In what seems to be an opportunity for me to secure a better job turned to a bitter experience for me.
I saw an advert of a job opening from a recruiting agency on may 2nd and I applied, by may 17th I received a mail telling me to come for interview the next day at Anthony in Lagos whereas I live in Ogun state.
I checked my pocket and I was sad cos the money I saw won't even be able to transport me to interchange on the expressway. So I result to borrowing transport fare and think of what excuse I'll take from my place of work. Reason I wanted a change of work is because it's a job I'm just doing not be be idle at home cos I've not been able to save anything from it for the past 2 and half months as I'm been paid a meager salary. I'm only able to save money for food and transportation.
I borrowed 3k from a friend and set to journey to Lagos on Thursday, as soon as we got to long bridge heading to berger, we found ourselves in this regular massive hold up leading all the way to Berger bustop.
The interview was set at 10 am and it was already 8am and I'm still trapped in traffic, I saw people jumping on bike and I tried reasoning them too, I was told it's 1k to berger. I got no choice than to speak to my leg. I couldn't believe I could trek all the way from long bridge to Otedola bridge after Berger all because I couldn't afford to board a bike and so as to be able to make it to the interview on time.
Another dilemma set it when I wanted to board bus to Anthony from otedola bridge after Berger and conductors were shouting Oshodi 500, Abiola garden 300, Secretariat 300, 7up 300, Mile-2 1000, I was just dumbfounded and didn't know what else to do. When I found out that those driver's won't reduce their price I had no other option than to board a bus going to Anthony like that at the rate of 500. Arriving at the venue, it wasn't hard to locate, I met some other candidates too and others joined later. Shortly after, a man came and introduced himself and ushered us into another location where there were chairs and tables already arranged. To cut the long story short, we were given questions to answer in a sheet of paper and thereafter called one by one for oral interview with a woman (the boss).
Some people came out shortly after going in and some were given form to fill of which I later discovered to be Employment form and guarantor form. I was praying I should be given too. It was finally my turn and the woman asked series of questions of which I responded well to but after everything I wasn't given any form to fill. I was so sad and devastated. I left the premises feeling bad, angry and depressed.... I began reminiscing about my life, at another failure. I started walking aimlessly from Anthony down to Oworo on the highway, I hadn't eaten anything that day but I lost appetite, I didn't even know what else to do.
I had attended some interviews in Lagos few times without success and failing this also made me shed hot tears as I was walking aimlessly yesterday.
I got home and all my body was aching me especially my legs coupled with a serious headache, I couldn't sleep well last night. just remembering the whole thing made me cry. I cried to bed last night cos I'm just fed up. I am aging, most of my mates are doing well for themselves with better paying jobs and here I am without a good source of income and no savings. It's really tiring and frustrating at the same time. Don't know what else to do. Even if I'm to to start a business,I will still need capital so I have to work first.
Pls If God lay it on your heart to help me with a good paying job, I will be more glad, I just need to get out of this my present situation. I'm tired. I do feel depressed thinking about my life. What is your qualification? How much are you being paid in this present job? What is your definition of a good paying job? |

Let me share this, it happened between kabba and obajana last year November.
Was around 5pm and I was enroute Lagos for an urgent business meeting. Anyone who knows that route will appreciate the speed breaker dangote constructed and how plentiful police mount check point on the road In almost every 2km. That evening was a little different. Few police road block and all and after a while I noticed cars weren't coming so I took a chill pill while I reduced my speed considerably. Car was a 2016 Accord. At some point I noticed cars were parked up ahead and I noticed folks were outside. Looked more like a police check point or so. But I reduced my speed to like 50 just to double check and about reaching the corner I noticed 2 cars were already attacked na so I use reverse dey go. Gun shot sound no move me as adrenaline don over secrete. I use reverse Waka like 3km with heavy gunshot cars behind me noticed and started thesame, some were trying to make a u-turn. I got the chance and Jesus took the wheels as I used reverse to make a sharp turning and matched down hard in the gas pedal. Oboy I reach obajana come park. Other cars too. No security men was in sight. We waited for like 1hr before a police truck passed and we all followed through. Na so God saved my ass. They ended up kidnapping 4 people and killing one that day.
2nd was between mokwa and makara |
