Here's a true life account of something that happened when I was a kid, say 5-6yrs old. We had a family in our compound back in Oworonshoki Bariga who attended a white garment church and were fully immersed in the rites and commandments of the said church. One day, the family informed the rest of the tenants in our compound that one of their kids, a girl of about my age, had the spirit of witchcraft in her. According to them during during an intense session of exorcism, which included whipping her with brooms, spiritual chants and sprinkling holy water, she confessed to being the cause of different incidents in the compound. Of course as a kid when you’ve been stripped naked and constantly whipped, you will pretty much confess to being the cause of the 2nd world war. Her confession included being the spirit of bed wetting, soup going bad in the kitchen, missing pieces of meat and stealing, which could easily be transferred to other kids in the compound. Our parents immediately gave us stern warning not to go close to her, play with her or even speak to her. My mom well being my mom doused our foreheads in so much anointing oil that all you needed was some heat and you can have a stir fry going on on my forehead. We immediately segregated the said girl. We took advantage of her situation and pointed at her whenever we wet our beds; after all we had the spirit of bedwetting in the compound. After sometime, the same parents came back to inform us that the spirit has left her and she's back to normal without telling us where it came from and where it went. The damage had already been done and the stigma of being called a witch or a possessed person was already stamped on her forehead, so we still refused to play with her.

Now looking back, I wonder about the psychological effects this would have on the girl and the ripple effects it would have on her character. I decided to write my experience after reading about Anja Ringgren Lovén, a Danish woman living in Africa who rescued a child that had been abandoned by his family on accusations of witchcraft. The emaciated child, named Hope, was riddled with worms after being forced to live off scraps of food thrown to him by passersby for eight months. Ref
These practices which are quite prevalent in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Edo states and its surrounding communities should be investigated and acted upon by and acted upon by relevant authorities and organizations. Children shouldn’t be subjected to such dehumanizing acts. Most of these situations arise from extreme poverty and downright ignorance from the side of the parents/guardians who strongly believe someone or something is the cause of their misfortune. In this age and time, a jail term should be slammed on the parents in incidents like these and the child removed from such homes and rehabilitated.

The Nigerian girls in Canada are worse for this.. They are so rude and silly that I don't bother even saying hi. They're minigods in their own world. Number 5 reminds me of pastor Enoch. The man is so gentle and fatherly that his office is always fill with students. Atimes, we do drop our phones with him to help us charge and he courteously oblige.
One funny thing is that other lecturers hate him due to his closeness with us and they always try to plan against him. He had to do his PH.D twice simply because he wasn't in the right clique(the ones that catch fun and hate students).
Fortunately for him, he had to leave UNAD and pick up an appointment with FUOYE wher he later became the HOD.

I forgot to add, he's the most brilliant amidst the other lecturers and he always tell and show the application of his course to real existence.

texazzpete: A lot of the kids who go to Ukraine to study are children of ordinary civil servants. Admission is pretty easy to medical school there, and it's an easy alternative to schooling in Nigeria. I know at least 4 people schooling there, and not a single one of them has a parent that has held a political position.

This is not rocket science people, it is very simple, they will have designated colors for the buses that will work for the first 8hrs and another color for the second set that will work...so for example yellow buses for first 8hrs and blue buses for the later 8hrs...so once their time is due , they get off the road and another set comes on.

Not all of them , I raced a woman from Aramoko ekiti till we got to ijebu ijesha and she handled the Toyota Camry 2009 well and didn't let me overtake her all through and I was in a honda ridgeline..she blocked me all through intentionally . She gave me a thumbs up when she got to her destination and I saw little kids inside her car ..I was impressed !
